Do you have a cluttered space? Or is it super dooper clean? I tend to always say that your house, room, whatever, are a reprentation if your mind. I am someone who constantly gets rid of anything that isn’t being used. Clutter drives me bonkers. I challenge you to look at your space. Is it spotless, like you can eat off the floors, or is it messy, like you need a shovel to get through there. These are two extremes. Try to find an easy medium where life happens, but it doesn’t overwhelm you. When your house is in a good energetic place, it is easier you for to clear your own mind and make space for yourself. It is easier to heal in a well balanced space. If you can relate to this, like and share. All my love to you ❤️❤️❤️ #cleanmyspace #growth #clearingout #energyclearing #energyflow #cleanse #donate #springcleanallyear #stepoutofyourcomfortzone https://www.instagram.com/p/CDR4ChnHHWt/?igshid=9qt3tvqta445

Slowly but surely, its coming together

Well its a week later and for the most part my home still looks like a bomb went off in the livingroom. There really isn’t anything organised in there other than the couches, tables , tv and cabinet. Good luck finding the furniture because there is so much crap on it lol. I unpacked my Coca Cola collection and put it all in the cabinet. I tried to organise it but most likely will go back later on and do it again. I just wanted to get what I could out of the room because I really need to get my craft room set up, I have a lot of work to do, craft fair season is starting soon and I have nothing to exhibit.

Since I moved in to my new home, for the most part its been a running theme of what can go wrong, will go wrong. I had ordered curtains for the livingroom window. Black out curtains of course. But I ordered them off Amazon and they weren’t flattering when hung. Crooked seams, The material had been pulled and that caused it to hang wavy, flimsy like. So I sent them back and ordered a better quality, with proper seams and thermal backing, much better choice. They arrived today, and are now hung, they will look much better when they relax. So as well as trying to get unpacked and settled in I’ve been cleaning.

The owner is inexperienced in renting out his basement suite, but he’s a pretty nice guy, willing to make it liveable for me and fix the problems. The prior tenant left the suite in quite a bad state. Nothing had been cleaned and the repairs we are facing now could have been avoided if the prior tenant had notified the owner about them. I spent the better part of the first week in my new home cleaning the ceramic tiles on the kitchen floor. The floor was pretty bad, I don’t think it was ever washed. The grouts were pretty much black. I had never tried cleaning a ceramic tile floor, so I started with a hard bristled scrub brush. After I had done about a 1/3 of the floor, it was still not coming clean. I vaguely remember something about baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. So I went to my comp and clicked on the Youtube icon, put in search and watched a couple videos on it. One was very informative from Clean My Space

So after watching the video and getting the info I needed, I had a problem, a minor set back. I had baking soda, but no hydrogen peroxide. So looking through the cupboards I remembered i had a large bottle of lemon juice in the fridge. So I thought, why not, give it a shot, whats the worst that can happen. So following the suggestions on the video, I subbed the hydrogen peroxide with the lemon juice. So I set to work, sprinkled baking soda on the grouts in a 2 foot space and then added the lemon juice, and of course there was a reaction and it fizzed for about a minute. I let it sit for about 15 min. Did I mention that its incredibly hot here, nothing stay wet for long. So when I returned to give it a scrub and a wash, the entire area had dried. So I grabbed my scrub brush and the bucket of water and went to work to scrub it some more and get the grit out of the crevices. To my surprise it actually worked. But there’s a downside, the floor now was incredibly sticky and it took quite a while to make it unsticky. so after all that I decided to wait till the next day and pick up some hydrogen peroxide.

It took a few days to accomplish what I set out to do with the kitchen floor, but I achieved it. If it wasn’t so hot and me knee cooperated with me it would have been done a lot sooner. Baking soda & hydrogen peroxide is the best solution to the problem of dirty grouts. Using this combination turned my grungy kitchen floor into it original almost new ceramic floor. The next thing is replacing the counter tops & putting in the new sink. I’m pretty excited about that. Then it will be the new board shelving above the sink for dishes. It’s a busy month, but want it get this all finished up, so I can get back to my projects…Christmas is coming!!
