so I’ve read designations congruent with things & I was wondering if you/any of your followers know if there is some sort of cleanwhiteroom archive anywhere so I could read more of their work??? or if anyone has any copies of their other stories they could share? thanks :)

hiii as far as i remember ive just seen that one. there might have been another by that person or maybe im misremembering. im happy 2 get the word out though. reply if anyone has info on the ancient texts :)

For all of those who haven't been on the blogspot for the last year or so - cleanwhiteroom is back and as of today POSTING ON AO3 AGAIN!!

Force Over Distance has been undergoing an overhaul and it has quite extensive edits, as has Math and Ad Noctum, so....basically make sure that you reread it hahaha! The Multiverse Triptych is back!!

Hello, I'm desperate. I JUST got into the Pacific Rim fandom and apparently there's a whole lot-o people who talk about a fanfics by a person called CleanWhiteRoom, but i CAN'T find them ANYWHERE!!! I stumbled across the archive tumblr which led me to cleanwhiteroom net but it isn't letting me download the zip file. I don't know what they're about, but everyone talking about them has me in NEED of all of their Pacific Rim fics. Then I saw your old twitter tweet and now I'm here

(A little note, also: Designations is incredible and so is all the spin-off things, but if you enjoy it, don’t let not knowing Stargate stop you from reading Force Over Distance. I didn’t, I read the whole massive thing, and it was Easily one of the best things I’ve ever read and works perfectly well as a stand-alone novel; it includes all the background you really need.)

people who hoard media so it can be recovered and uploaded, people who maintain archives and wikis and databases, people who program emulators and other free or open source software, people who seed what they torrent - all doing gods work, truly. maybe it's overly optimistic to point out, but the fact that, despite every economic incentive and cultural bag-getter norm pushing otherwise, people still do this, is one of those things that makes me think socialism is possible. maybe we don't gotta live our lives scrambling over each other for cash

I know at least a few of my followers know cleanwhiteroom, and remember their mysterious disappearance.

Well, I just went back looking for Matilda, aka MRSJeevas, one of the bigger authors and bloggers in the death note fandom

And they disappeared too

Seriously - CWR and Matti both disappeared in late June 2016. Matti specifically the day of Brexit, I can’t find a date for CWR.

That’s - a little weird, I can’t help but feel?

Anyways, uh, if anybody has news of what happened to Matti/Matilda/MRS Jeevas from the death note fandom, or archives of Ghosting The Street, I’d be interested in hearing from you.

okay so I wanted to read this so desperately I carried out some minor detective work. this fic is by cleanwhiteroom and is no longer available on ao3, however someone lovely has saved their work and archive links to it can be found on a blog called cleanwhiteroom-archived. Ahhh, hello!! Honestly, I'm mostly amazed that anyone actually read that post hahaha - so I'm so happy that people have found it interesting! I've just been...so intrigued by all these changes, so it's nice to be able to share that with other people, especially anyone who doesn't know the original quite so well and didn't clock the edits. I want everyone to know about all of this HAHA

But oh, regarding that post, I won't post the whole thing in the answer to this ask because 1) it's long 2) it's not my words 3) it's mired in context, BUT....if you want to see the document of all the commentaries I saved, you can find it right here. Let me know if that link doesn't work. I think that @cleanwhiteroom-archived is planning to put it into the main archive when they get time to take a look and sort it out? I'm not sure, it's been sent their way - but for now, it's here for anyone who wants to read it. The commentary that talks about portrayal of mental illness (or not) is the one for At All Angles Part 3, and it starts at the bottom of page 7 on that document.

Archive Update December 17, 2023: The last time I updated this, the news was that early chapters of FoD were getting rewritten - lmfao, over a year later I am BACK and FoD rewrites are done and dusted! She’s LIVE and!?!! Posted to CWR’s Ao3?!!! Go! Give kudos and be merry!!

If you’re just finding this years after reading your last CWR story and confused about what the heck is going on, here’s some recent(ish) updates:

- CWR and elementals have websites again! They are 1. cleanwhiteroom.net (has copies of the original stories once available on Ao3) 2. cleanwhiteroom.blogspot.com (has stories that are in the process of being re-written) 3. CWR’s AO3 (for completed stories) 4. readbyelementals.net (for completed podfic chapters) 5. The Work Feed (for elementals’ in-progress audio for all stories). Come, shed a manly tear with me in celebration of this feast of media before us.

- What do you mean stories being reworked? Well friend, you may remember way back when that CWR wrote stories in the Stargate universe (ha) called Force Over Distance, Mathématique, and Ad Noctum, aka the Multiverse Triptych. CWR has been revisiting them and re-writing them. For what purpose you ask? Only time will tell (but I have my theories 😈). FOD is done and has been posted to AO3, and Maths and AdNo are getting reworked and presumably, eventually, (hopefully, prayerfully) finished.

- There is a sequel to Designations Congruent with Things, CWR’s Pacific Rim Fic (😭), released in early 2021. It’s called Aftermath. It will melt your face off. Go read it immediately.

- The Work Feed is elementals’ RSS feed of in-progress audio drafts for various chapters of the Multiverse Triptych, so you can listen to chapters before they’re nailed down into final versions. It’s pure delight, go listen to elementals giggle up a storm and/or burst out laughing in the middle of reading, I promise you it is a trip. 🥹 I’ve reblogged a link to the feed, but it’s also available on the blogspot in the latest updates post.

- Elementals has posted 2 new chapters of the podfic for DCWT, ch 20 and 21!! 😭😭🥺😭😭

- a few small bits and bobs have been saved to the archive, but all new/reworked chapters from the blogspot have not- you’ll have to get them straight from the source :)

CWR.net has copies of all the original versions of these stories, but just in case I’m still maintaining my hoard of CWR media. This includes both the originals as well as some fun extras:
