Character expression sheets

I was thinking about Cleon’s range of face expressions which is neutral to frowning, smiling if he’s forcing it. So I decided to draw and express sheet since his previous one is inaccurate now and then I drew one for Lenny.

Drawing this was a pain because i had to redo the shading several times and I generally don’t like drawing a lot of detail

I do want to say that there are changes to Cleon’s backstory

Quick explanation of his current backstory is Cleon went missing for a few weeks and was later found by Clark broken, limbs he originally never had, and with amnesia. He lived with Clark for a year (Jun 18, 2025 Edit: I would like to change that to more then a year, maybe 2 or more) learning how to be a functional person. Clark later went missing.

Can you draw Lenny and Cleon being silly goobers? Like just talking or something. I feel like they are pretty good friends

Lenny tried to get to know Cleon a little and learns he likes puzzles. He’s having a pretty good time.

I’m not saying that this is what Cleon looks like without his face but it’s close

so uhhh maybe perchance I wanted to see what @sir-needle’s character Cleon looked like if he was broken clockwork. ALSO I kinda maybe forgot the little piece of hair that sticks in the front of his hat so pretend some like bad dude shaved it off. I realized this too deep into the doodle process 😓

When it comes to drawing Cleon I usually never draw in wood texture on his skin

I forget that Cleon is supposed to have a stiff face or at least limited facial expressions but then again u can make characters express a lot with little changes so I’ll just say the only time he would express something is if it’s a strong emotion because besides that he normally looks like this 😐 because he has to manually move his face if it’s not a strong emotion

I would like to note that the bird is not a separate being it’s a part of Cleon’s body

Do the characters in 🕰 bleed?

Yes (mild blood warning)

They can and have black blood but it’s not exactly the same as people blood.

The red is where blood can be drawn and black is where little to no blood can be drawn

The more machine like people don’t bleed out of their arms or leg (or extra parts like a tail). The less machine like people can bleed almost anywhere. There are people between that line like Bartley so it’s more or a spectrum.

Also the heart will pop if damaged pretty much killing the person

I think of them of hermit crabs like they are just small fleshy creatures wearing shells of various things if that makes sense or easier to think about.

Since Cleon can’t emote very well with his face, outside of his eyes, is his tail one of his main ways of emoting then? If so, do particular tail movements or positions mean certain things?

I don’t follow this strictly so this is just the basics

His tail is just a clock hand

There isn’t a particular animal I based this off like I was looking at tail language charts for this
