What are the Observers in your story "A star filled oyster"? Are the humans from an organization? An alien species? Imagine you wake up one day and you see an observer in your room. That'd be awkward.

Observers are an alien species! It's unknown where their homeworld is or how they appear on long-term space faring vessels, but they do. They're not naturally Humanoid, they just appear that way to blend in. You can identify them by their eyes and the fact that they all wear a certain insignia and won't tell anyone what it means beyond that they're an Observer. They refuse to tell anyone what their mission is beyond "Observation" which is how they got the moniker.

Observers don't experience emotion or any sensation that isn't pain - the latter is a fairly recent evolutionary[?] development (to keep them from getting killed). Some Observers will mimic emotion in certain situations to encourage more information (EX: Pretending to cry to see what would happen). They don't engage much interpersonally with others and most have taken to seeing them more as living recording devices than people.

Most. Also, the likelihood of waking up to an Observer being in your room is low but NOT zero if you're on a long-term space faring vessel. Try telling 'em to shoo!

"it's their first christmas with us. half of this shit is just stuff for their room." sevika reminds you.

"it's gonna take them all day to get through this stuff."

sevika laughs. "just means we get a day free from having to entertain them."

you laugh and lean against your wife, both of you smiling at the christmas tree. the girls spent the entire evening dressing it up. you're going to be vacuuming glitter out of the carpet for years to come, but it's all worth it for the happy laughs that came from isha and jinx as they covered the tree in tassels and handmade ornaments and garlands.

you and sevika shuffle to bed a few minutes later, exchanging sleepy, happy kisses in each other's arms before falling asleep.

you wake up to squealing.

"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!"

"wha? wha's happening?" sevika asks as she shoots up in bed beside you.

your bedroom door slams open and isha and jinx both come tumbling in, sprinting up on your bed.

"YOU GOT US SO MANY FUCKING PRESENTS!!" jinx screams as she jumps on your bed. you giggle.

"AAAAAAAAHHH!!" isha squeals, tackling you and sevika back down onto the mattress to wrap you up in a big hug. your heart bursts.

"the sun's not even up yet." sevika whines. you can hear the smile in her voice yet.

"too bad, old lady! get up! it's christmas time!"

you spend the morning making pancakes and watching isha and jinx tear into their presents. sevika hangs off your hips, her chin hooked over your shoulder, a kiss pressed to your throat intermittently.

jinx cries when she opens her customized tool kit-- the handles hand made by a local artisan-- purple and blue swirled together with her name carved in all the tools' handles.

isha stands in pure shock for a full minute when she unwraps her own bike-- all decked out with a basket and pink and blue tassels in the handles. then, she hops on, and rides the bike directly into the christmas tree.

by mid-afternoon, the girls have passed out in a pile of pajama-clad limbs in front of the fire place, exhausted after all the excitement from the morning.

"i'd call that a success." sevika mutters, cheersing her spiked hot coco against yours.

you giggle. "merry christmas, love. you'll be getting your present from me a little later tonight." you tease. sevika laughs.

"what a coincidence. that's when i was gonna give you your present too."

"ugh, you guys are disgusting." jinx mumbles from the floor. you snort and throw a crumbled up ball of wrapping paper at her head. she flips you off, then sighs. "here." she says, reaching out for something under a pile of wrapping paper.

sevika takes it from her hands, a small box wrapped in construction paper; doodles from both isha and jinx decorating it.

sevika carefully unwraps it, refusing to tear the special paper.

tears well up in your eyes the moment sevika pulls out the bedazzled picture frame-- the photo inside taken a few months ago-- all four of you dressed up and smiling bright at the camera.

the treasures and sparkles decorating the frame are clearly all collected by isha-- bottle caps and marbles and anything else shiny she's been able to find.

sevika turns the frame over, and she lets out a choked sob as you both read the note on the back.

none of us expected that this is what our family would be, but now that it's here i wouldn't trade it for the world. thank you. jinx. and isha

isha wakes up with a groan when you and sevika dive off the couch and on top of your girls on the carpet, cuddling them all into your arms as you cry.

Alrighty Folks! The Time Has Finally Come!

Hopefully this is everything and i didn't miss any panels or doodles for this post, but here is almost everything about BABVC's comic sketches, wips, doodles, refs, and even scripts i never finished, plus more! Doodles and other art stuff will be added to the end of this post. (Due to how many wips i have and such, there will be multiple reblogs happening as i go through this so bare with me.)

So, did you want to know how BaBvc would have went? Here's your answer. (This will contain a mix of the script, old comic wips and context)

Now, well jump to where we left off in the comic with a smol refresher.

Scene 6 Nightmare:

It's dark and bendy is in a black like void. He hears voices.

"Why? You had a chance!" OB growls.

"Who's there!?" Bendy shouts.

"Why did you resist?" OB

"What?"

Bendy's eyes are suddenly covered by cold clawed hands. And he tries to pry them off.

"Why!?" OB

"What are you talking about?! Who are you!" Bendy growls trying to fight them off.

"Don't keep me waiting much longer" we see the claws retract and three tails around Bendy.

"I'm sick of waiting"

The last shot is of Bendy's demon cross eye.

“But, how…?”

He hears a yawn from Boris as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes, “good morning, Bendy”

Boris blinks at Bendy’s hand and the bag, "You better not eat that so early in the morning, Bendy.” Boris scolded, ears pinned back.

“What? No, i wouldn't do that. But...” Bendy says, looking at the can thoughtfully. "Did you get some more after last night…?" He asked the tall wolf. Boris raised a brow at him, confused. 

"What do you mean?" He asked. "That's the same bag from last night when we went to the market right?" He asked. 

"Well yeah but, I lost it, remember?" Bendy said and looked up at his younger brother. Boris stares at him in confusion. "...You did?" He asked. 

Camera focuses on the can in his hand.

Scene 8:

Bendy and Boris enter Berry cafe and take a seat at a booth.

"So you honestly don't remember?" Bendy starts looking across the table to his younger brother.

"I really don't. I only remember us getting the stuff, and then after that, it's all blurry. Like I blacked out or something, and then it was morning." Boris replied. "Are you sure you didn't just imagine you lost it? Maybe it was a dream that you had last night." He points out.

"..." Bendy thinks, "Maybe you're right. I've been having weird dreams, and I guess it's possible." He says tiredly. "Though it really felt like I wasn't dreaming." He mumbled to himself.

Then Melody comes around shortly after and asks them what they would like to order. "Hello, welcome to Berry's Cafe. What would you - oh! It's you two, the usual then?" She smiles and lifts her paper and pen.

Bendy lifts his head and gives a small smile. "Ah, yeah, for me, at least. Boris?" He looks over expectantly for his order.

"Oh! um, what's the special today?"

"New York cheesecake drizzled in strawberries and syrup, it's so good!" she smiles and hugs her notepad dreamily.

Boris perks at that smiling "Guess I know what I'm getting now, (haha) and can I get a hot coco with that, thanks Melody."

"No problem! I'll put your order in right away." She nods and walks away allowing Bendy to see the other residents in the cafe. And surprisingly enough he sees someone familiar. His eyes widened a little, shocked.

Bendy looks at his right wrist and rubs it lightly.

(So it hadn't been a dream? I should probably thank him.)

Bendy stood, making Boris look at him. "Bendy?"

"I'll be back."

Bendy walks away and heads for the familiar person.

"Uh, Hey." he says. Catching Cupheads attention who opens his eyes. He looks a little confused and shocked to see Bendy for a moment.

"I wanted to say thanks for the other night you really helped me back there." Bendy says looking to the side awkwardly.

Cuphead says nothing for a minute. His shock turns to annoyance.

"Yeah, whatever, watch yourself, you're lucky I found you when I did." Cuphead says with a steady look. "Didn't your mom teach you not to walk around at night by yourself?"

"It's dangerous." He glares, narrowing his eyes.

Bendy furrows his brows at the semi aggressive tone. "Hey, I came to thank you, not get a lecture! And I wasn't by myself."

"..."

"Anyway like I said, thank you, seriously." Bendy frowned.

Cuphead stands up and looks down at Bendy, who looks up at him in return nervously as they stare at each other.

"Here you go sir, your order." Tostie says, giving Cuphead two drinks.

"Thanks," he says.

She walks away.

"There you are, Cuppy!" A new voice sounds in the cafe besides Bendy.

Mugs comes over and stands by his brother's side. Who gives him an exhausted look.

"Here." Cuphead hands him the second drink.

"Oh! Were you in the middle of something?" Mugs looks between Bendy and Cuphead.

Cuphead gives Bendy another glare.

"No. Let's go." He walks off, but Mugs falters and gives Bendy a nervous smile and a wave before he follows.

"Geez, what a jerk." (At least the other guy was nice) Bendy sweats but shrugs it off heading back to Boris.

"Was that someone you knew?"

"Uh, not exactly," Bendy says as he slides back into the booth.

It's silent for a moment before Boris speaks up.

"Bendy, listen, I know you're just as confused as I am, but you haven't told me a single thing about what happened last night, I was really worried about you."

"I know, I promise to tell you when I've made sense of it, ok? Just… give me some time."

Boris sighs, "...Ok"

Bendy looks away and out the window covered in fog with a thoughtful look. It starts to snow a little.

Scene 9

Cuphead glares ahead. (The hell? Did I not wipe his memory correctly? And what's with that weird smell?) He rubs his nose.

Mugman watches him, concerned. “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing,” Cuphead mutters. “I just need to go to the casino… again.”

Mugman frowns. “Huh? Why?”

“I’ll tell you later—unless you wanna come with me.”

Mugman hesitates, then nods. “Mmm… I’ll go with you.” Cuphead glances at him, his expression unreadable. Without another word, he keeps walking.

(Que this scene where they report to The Devil about Bendy being immune to memory wiping)

"Sir, I've come to report something." [Kneeling]

"What is it?"

"There's someone i met that's immune to memory wiping."

"..."

"Is that so..."

(Thus, The Devil orders Cuphead to keep an eye on Bendy and to report back if anything happens.)

Scene 12

Cuphead (bat form) climbs through the crack of the window in the kitchen. He hops to the ground and transforms back into his toon form. He dusts himself off and then looks up. Unexpectedly Bendy was in the doorway and saw everything.

(Que a funny nervous Bendy stares and throws a mug at Cuphead.)

Bendy runs to his couch and starts his spiel.

"What are you doing in my house!? Are you going to kill me!? You're a vampire! Aren't you supposed to stay out of houses unless you're invited!? Or something!?

"Huh?"

"Wait a minute, vampires have other weaknesses! I think I have a few things!"

Bendy runs out of the room, and Cuphead is left in confusion.

"Okay...this is weird." -sigh-

Bendy comes in and out with various "vampire deterrents"

"Garlic!?"

"No"

"A cross!?"

"Nope"

"A stake!?" (It's a twig)

"Na-da"

"Sunlight!?" (Its a flashlight.)

"Did you forget you saw me at the café?"

I don't know if anyone remembers this One Word Sketch thing I did a while back, but I've been thinking it could be fun to do it again. This time it's less to get creative juices flowing, and more just because I think it would be fun to tease parts of the story. :3

This time I want to do it for specifically The Matters of Life and Death, because that's my mood of the moment. Linking the main blog for it in case anyone wants a refresher. X3

THE RULES 1: Give me a SINGLE WORD, preferably in my inbox, and I'll see about doodling something inspired by it. 2: You can specify whether it's for the PAST or FUTURE, as well as a particular character. The less specific it is, the more I'll take it into my own hands. (Keep in mind I may not be able to make certain words work with certain characters.) 3: I'm willing to take more than one word per sender, but preferably only one word per ask.

Whether I do any given word is up to the amount of inspiration I feel, just as a heads up.

Like last time, I'll leave it open until I feel like closing it. ^^

I'll throw a list of the characters down below too, in case you don't want to dig through the blog but need a reminder. (Slight topic of death below)

The protagonist, Timber: A middle-aged werewolf Druid who recently returned to his family after being away for five years. Due to being brought back from the dead, he has a soul link with Eirwen and cannot be far apart from her.

Secondary protag, Eirwen: A young werewolf who dabbles in necromancy. She is bright and chipper, but can also be a bit dense.

Extras:

Brook: Timber's sassy and brash twin sister. A skilled archer. Mate to Talon. Talon: The muscle of their pack; Coco's half-brother and mate to Brook. Cordelia (Coco): Mild-mannered heart of the pack, skilled in medicinal mixes. Talon's half-sister and mate to Timber. Corvus and Crystal: Brook's twin children, young adults. Corvus is excitable and adventurous, while Crystal is more soft-spoken.

Scraps the Pixie and Finnigan the Fox are also available, but I haven't put a lot of thought into them yet, lol.

Welcome to the Other-Side

About:

The Other-Side is my own Rainworld AU which takes place in the areas around 5P and Lttm, and SRS and NSH. The Other-Side itself, the place, is the area between SRS and NSH, but the story itself spans across the areas mentioned above. The Other-Side is multiple stories within one, from the young slugpup Lume with his siblings to the messenger slugcat that came from a place far away Ravage, these stories all tie into one and tell a bigger story to paint a bigger picture.

Who is the Askable slugcats?:

-> Lume: A young slugpup that escaped their rot-infested mother with his two older siblings Vie and Lily. He can glow in the dark and even launch himself a short distant in the air like a cyan lizard. More info coming soon...

-> Vie: A young slugpup who is the middle pup of his litter. He is infested with rot and knows it, but tries to hide it the best he can from his siblings, specifically from his older sister. More info coming soon...

-> Lily: A young slugpup and the oldest of her litter, she has taken up the parent role for her two younger brothers after escaping their mother. She has a strange attraction to karma flowers. More info coming soon...

Why the Change?:

This blog wasn't getting much attention and I felt bad as I have been developing the story of the Other-Side for over a year now, so i decided that I was gonna change up how I post and how I answer stuff and how I set up this blog, and hopefully this blog will get more attention and will be more appealing to those interested!

About the Author:

I am 15 years old, identify as Maverique, Demisexual, and Polyamorous, and i go by Any/All/Xe/Xer pronouns! I got into the RW fandom because of Pansear-Doodles (RIP I miss you lots) and I fell in love immediately. I love traditional art but mainly post digital art on my socials. I have a youtube channel where I post gaming videos and projects I am doing. Tumblr is the main social media platform I use to post my art and stuff but i also have a Twitter. I am planning on doing Artfight every year if possible (Mistakens_Art). I enjoy voice acting, drawing, writing, gaming, and cosplaying.

◟a/n◝ posting this in hopes that more people read and write for witch hat atelier... it's such a good series and I hope that the anime adaptation help boost its popularity 😞

• first of all, dating him means you also get four kids and one tired uncle. qifrey and the kids + Olruggio are one huge package deal but by know you probably already know.

• you two would have to have known eachother for awhile for any type of romantic relationship to blossom. Qifrey is already a mysterious man and keeps almost everyone far away from his actual self, going as far as erasing his best friends memories when he learned the truth.

• with you however he's nicer and gentler. you can see how his mask drops and cracks ever so slightly when you're alone with him asking about his magic and updates about the brimhats and surprising he'll tell you snippets of his progress though not enough for his true intentions to shine through but enough to bring you both closer.

• during the day he's practically clinging onto you whenever your near. If you live with him in his atelier then goodluck because you'll need every lucky item for him to leave your side even for a few hours. if you live farther away then you bet he'll visit you everyday when he's free, often bringing a new magical item Olruggio made or bringing along coco and the others for some training with you.

• speaking of his apprentices they love you alot, they love their professor so naturally that love pours onto you. often times they'll ask you to help or hang out with them if you're free. Riche will ask you to help clean brushbug, she loves observing how you work with or without magic. she loves how every move you make your personality shines through and she aspires to have that ability. Tetia often asks you things about fashion and what types of clothes look the best and what styles compliment the types of magic. sometimes she'll doodle new magic ideas or outfits to show too you and when you tell her that you're proud of her and her ideas are splendid her face shines so bright and she gives you a smile that melts everything around you.

• Agott really only asks you your opinion on new magic she made and if there's any improvements needed. you always tell her the truth while reassuring her that she's doing good and that her magic is something she should be very proud of. Coco is often by qifreys side when he visits you but sometimes she'll come alone and when she does she begs you to tell her anything that she doesn't know about magic. even if you tell her a basic fact about magic that every witch in the land knows her face will light up with excitement and she'll beg for more and sometimes to the point where qifrey or agott has to drag her away from you.

• qifrey is a huge sap, to the point he gets corny. when he does everyone, including you, groans loudly and looks away from him. he always brings you fresh flowers for your nightstand and always invites you over for dinner (if you live separately from him). on some nights where it's quiet and everyone has gone to bed he teaches you magic and sometimes you two learn something new together.

• moments like these are so important to qifrey, he adores magic and spending time improving it with someone he also adores is practically heaven for him. despite all the struggles he deals with and the despair that lingers in his mind, he always finds solace in you and he hopes if there's ever a time where he forgets who he is and what's important to him that you're there to guide him home.

• Their relationship developed from really long glances to the other from across the room to just holding hands in public and that was enough for Frankie to realize theyre dating

• i think i saw this in a fic once but the two would basically give very back-handed 'compliments' every time they saw each other, which developed into "dont you EVER FUCKING say that to him" when the other is insulted

• Rarely play basketball against each other, but when they do Larry is extremely fucking careful that wilt gets upset because he "isnt giving his best efforts" (Larry loses on purpose anyways for Wilt's sake)

• Jackie Khones is a certified detective on trying to figure out on what the actual hell is going on between the two (probably worked w Mac again in order to figure that out)

• Wilt is a dog person but Larry is a car person, that is one of the main (and probably only) arguments between them

• i already said wilt was a good cook so he'll always make larry small snacks (because Herriman forbids people making their own meals for some reason) and larry will silently cry of happiness for a moment bc "wilt's too good for him"

• wilt blinks like a frog when he zones out and larry also finds it funny

• but on the opposite note, wilt found out that larry will sway side to side when idly standing or zoning out and likes to point it out whenever he does it (wilt finds it funny and cute at the same time)

• they save the corny nicknames for when theyre alone, but publicly will call each other stuff like "shorty" and "carebear" (wilt likes to call larry carebear because he's somehow more caring than anyone hes ever known and is nearly as tall as a bear)

• Wilt scheduled times designated to shit-talking Duchess with eduardo, coco, bloo, mac and frankie (Larry had no idea who Duchess even was but when he met her for the first time he never wanted to punch someone so bad)

• Wilt fish-kisses (looks like a 3) and Larry kisses w tongue

• madame foster now hosts 'pride parties' in june which was inspired by the couple so that residents of the house could feel comfortable while living there (and she got all the tea about them from Frankie)

Also!!! this picture is a little over a year (or maybe even two!) old at this point but since it's somewhat related, i once had a thing going where i was aiming to draw all of leonard's brothers, a main reference doodle + other misc doodles.... riversal was the only one i finished, i got halfway with lukhege and barely started on laum's but never finished it (i really want to try again, though...) Anyways, this was one of the misc doodles i did for Riversal's

I was always taken aback at how many similarities riv and pico's design characteristics shared.... At first glance they don't look too similar, but the closer you look the more you see they actually have a lot in common.
