Hi! So i have a quick question, is Roze operator a part of the Shadow Company or just KorTac now? her Blackout skin appears to have an emblem resembling 141 patch and also Shadow Company one. I saw some random person on youtube make up thing like how she's a part of the 141 and not Farah, also how she used to work with Mace and Ghost as a former disbanded Ghost team, but none of this makes sense and seems like a huge pile of misinformation that someone likes to treat as a fact. What do you think?
the commentators name is "deathmare" something, i've literally seen this guy go on every possible CoD lore video and comment nothing but absolute made up bs
Roze was originally part of Shadow Company after she discontinued serving in the US Army Rangers. She worked with them for some time, and worked under the Allegiance faction as well. After awhile she stopped working with them, and now currently works for KorTac.
Roze does in fact know Mace from both of their time in the US Army Rangers, and both ended up leaving for their own reasons.
They stayed in contact with each other. Mace originally helped Roze join him in the Jackals Merc Group, but she left that too for Shadow Company and Allegiance. The two stayed cordial still, and Mace eventually met up with her in Allegiance.
Both of them also worked in Armistice at some point (as the Jackals, and later Shadow Company for Roze), which Ghost also worked in (under SAS). However Armistice disbanded messily, and infighting occurred.
However Roze is definitely not a member of taskforce 141, and hasn't been yet. She also hasn't been a part of a Ghost team yet, but she is related story-wise to two ghost masked. Farah is in taskforce 141. So the commentator is very incorrect there.

It's wild to me how Gaz always, like ALWAYS gets sidelined or replaced with a random ass character. Loading screens? No Gaz. Fanarts of TF 141? No Gaz. KONIG??? HELLO??
Okay i really don't know what to say anymore, like am i missing something here? Is Gaz missing some "cool" factor or whatever in front of fandom's eyes so he always gets shoved aside? Or is it because he's black? This is astronomical really.
Lmao, a very much mood! Made this meme the other day over a similar situation...
The answer is... because he's black
Now I would agree many people are not sidelining him because he's black on purpose or similar, but it isn't uncommon for a black character of a group to find themselves mega sidelined by fandoms due to subconscious racism.
I'm also not saying ever person who focuses on a more uncommon character is racist, and hates gaz. Many who center on Ghost, Roach, and Soap are just being fans of the 09 series. While others just really really really like König.
But there definitely is something up, whether it be subconscious or not, where Gaz is being sidelined.
I think Gaz is superduper cool. I love the mentor and trainee dynamic between Price and him. He has the award winning smile of the group thanks to his equally cool actor, Elliot Knight. The sequence where he's jumping from car to car to save Laswell is badass as hell
I think this posts really gets that vibe and explains what the current situation looks like really well -> [other post]
Like congrats to @gogh-with-the-flow for putting that into words, because it would me a day of heavy thinking just to do that

one thing i noticed abt CoD fandom (at least the toxic dudebros and homophobes) is how they tend to outright deny even things that are canon, like take for example zombies being connected to mw universe
and thats one portion, when developers themselves, activision employees actually support the whole "babygirlification" of ghost and fandom overall being creative with their works speaks volumes, like they're not walling anyone on how they wanna see these characters, meanwhile we have clowns acting like a literal police department when they see GhostSoap together and claim shit like "stop demasculizing men", as if being queer makes you less masculine? the stereotypes are just insane because funnily every time i see a Ghoap art neither of the characters are portrayed as submissive feminine? either way, just insane how these people behave and can't seem to let anyone have their own opinions. but for the sake of something good, im actually thrilled that actors and devs support fandom creativity! and if it's gonna make bigots even more mad then im all for it <3
It's sort of a running problem for fps communities, and is unfortunately not the first time I've seen it happen. (It's not even the worst I've recently experienced)
I will admit there is most definitely fan content demasculizing the characters, but it's not the common stuff for sure.
I'm always happy to see devs standing their ground on social issues and character decisions and not always backing down to the community. There's a fine line between listening to fans and folding to toxic communities. Unfortunately, it's gotten more difficult for devs and other people who work on games to find that line.
And no company is perfect, especially not the ones behind Call of Duty, cod truly has many things it needs to live up to

The guy y'all were talking about spreading misinformation, i think i know who it is shgdshkvss
He's literally on almost every CoD lore video i have ever watched and he's been talking nothing but nonsense and misinfo, that he ofc likes to deem as facts and how he literally has no back up argument when someone shuts him down. If you go on any sort of MW lore video you're bound to find him, by a name of Deathmare86 or something 😂 and yeah he really did claim that Farah is not in 141 and how it makes more sense for Roze to be rather than her JUST because Roze left Shadow Company lol
I mean i love Roze don't get me wrong but in no way do i see her being interested serving in 141 especially given how questionable their actions can be at times too so that and other reasons too
How strange and wild, like what a hill to die on???
Unfortunately as someone else commented, it might be a racism thing 🙄

Hi there!! Just dropping to say that i love loveee the lore info and takes you post about Cod, i wasn't into it much before mwii released but now that im kinda entangled in it, your blog has helped out alot! I hope to see more 👍
aaaaaaaaaa thank you so much ! ! !
I was unfortunately (or fortunately) entangled a long long time ago, and haven't really left since, so I might as well as make my obsession useful :D

How come Cod Mobile is a completely independent game from the mainline? Is it because it's made by completely different devs unrelated to Activision?
Also tbh in a way i am glad because they have made some of our iconic characters sooo OOC and cringe imo
We all rejoice that CoD Mobile is simply Cod Mobile.
Why the deviation from mainline though?
Well it's very common for mobile versions of games to be separate from the mainline, especially due to ownership differences. Which is the main reason why. I can only think of a few exceptions to that rule
(And thank God because the Cod Mobile timeline is insane and not even the potentially enjoyable kind)

You know we won when CoD dudebros are calling Ghost Senpai gay skin lmao
I love the very slow and painful realization the dudebros are having as they realize that perhaps not every implementation to the game is meant for the dudebro-side of the community.

What do you think will happen to Ghost and Soap in MWIII and maybe IV too?
I wonder how they'll handle them further into the campaign/s.
Honestly no clue!
They already threw quite the surprise with Ghost not dying in the Shepherds betrayal moment, and several characters not appearing at all.
I truly do wonder if they'll even kill Soap or Gaz when it comes to it. Maybe someone else is on the chopping the block and we have no idea
I'm super curious and very excited to see where they take it
Even more curious about Price, since his character arch depends on the loss of his crew throughout the four games, and a lot of Price centered character moments have already been swapped out or changed.
So no idea

I've seen plenty people attack those that use Ghost's comics backstory as a way to define his character and all in the reboot with "that's not canon or relevant, this is a new Ghost he has a different backstory"
And I'm like, do we really know that? I'm certain that IW has made lots of references to his OG timeline and his past. If IW wants to explore how he came to wear a mask, I'm sure they would take the example of comics and create something new, more "modern" but no need to bash those of us who still use them, right? And in any case they don't even have to do it anyways, Ghost works just fine as a mystery man because we have enough to go around as to why he is the way he is. And perhaps mwiii will shine some light on it even more.
Also I've seen one Reddit user last year comment how Ghost maybe wears a mask cause he's paranoid and insecure about someone finding out who he is and going after his loved ones. I find this extremely unlikely and it was confirmed by Activision that Ghost is a "one man only" what do you think? :)
Personally I've always been annoyed at fandom ideology completely taking over the image of a character, and fan communities becoming enraged when confirmations for the character come out and contradict what they wanted. As a fan community we simply need to understand we don't own that character, and we aren't owed specifics of that character. Rant aside...
There's no way to guess whether or not IW will decide if that backstory is equally relevant to Ghost, but I won't be surprised if they build off of it.
As you said, it's very likely, they won't add anything too. Allowing the mystery of the character to remain, and intrigue others overtime. Really as of now it's just whatever interpretation the community comes up with, but the comic is canon to the Original Ghost, and getting finicky at others for not ignoring that is in very bad taste.
Call of Duty actually releases comics occasionally adding to the canon, they did so for Black Ops Zombies, Call of Duty Vanguard, so on and so forth.
As for the redditer, it's equally plausible as implausible. Really it's all up to interpretation for 2nd Ghost.

From what we can gather in the game (reboot) what are your thoughts as to why Ghost wears a skull mask? Other than that the characters are rather presented to us as blank slates in a sense where we can make up things as we want and that's not necessarily bad, it is call of duty after all but they do give us enough to work with. It's also implied alot throughout the game that he probably has mental issues, adding on that he thrives in solitude and dangerous missions and his trust issues. What do you think?
I firmly believe a mixture of trust issues, and Ghost's isolated personality plays a big part in why he wears a mask.
He is frequently seen working alone, where as others are usually paired with at least one or two more people. He is shown to be very formidable in this condition too, quickly leaving a trail of destruction behind during Shadow Company's betrayal, nearly leaving the other's behind.
In that scene alone there is a sort of hesitation from his character to even stick around, but obviously there's a connection between him and Soap that would prompt him to do so.
Since he's been betrayed in the past by members of his older taskforce Armistice, and seems to carry an antisocial personality, trust issues are likely rampant. His workforce alone would amplify that, being he specializes in clandestine missions.
There also seems to be a Ghost mask motif introduced to Taskforce 141, besides just Ghost. As Mace also wears a skull mask, and happens to know Ghost from working alongside him in the past. But very little information is given there. Maybe Ghost is a fashion trendsetter among super soldiers.
I feel definitely some mental problem or past experience plays a major role, as of how Price treats the situation. When the team pairs up to don Ghost masks together, Price refers to him directly as Simon Riley and even welcomes Simon back, as if Ghost wasn't always there.
Something of Ghost's identity if tied to the mask versus unmasking, in a way he is a different person when he puts it on. Perhaps well... a Ghost of Simon Riley.

I like your thoughts on Ghost tbf, im glad there are more people around here that are into the lore. As for ghost i think that since you mentioned all the references on his comic story, i believe the story would be based off of it but more into current times rather than 09s. I believe the basis of his family tragedy is the same, or similar, his peak dark humor is one of the examples i can give, second is, his tattoo has alot of points that can depict his life throughout the military and outside. Also idk what anon meant with loved ones but im pretty sure that it was already confirmed by Activision and Samuel that he's single if that's what people are worried about 😂🙏
Ghost is single and ready to mingle!
Thank you! I made this sideblog on a whim, because I needed to infodump somewhere.
Although weird, Call of Duty has a special place in my childhood. Think of me like those people obsessed with superhero franchises, knowing a stupidly random and unimportant amount about everything ever made on it.
It was only a matter of time before I did something like this, and I'm glad it's somewhat active.

It seems Ghost has little regard for his life if he's seeking out missions with high threats and prefers doing them alone.
I'd say there's more an indifference, or he's very confident in his ability to stay alive. He definitely holds more confidence in that degree compared to Soap. If anyone is careless for if he lives or dies, I think that goes for Captain Price in the original timeline. Mans is crazy.

there were "claims" by some people apparently 6-7 months ago i think saying how Ghost's VA was talking that there will be a game focusing on Ghost and his backstory, but i've looked everywhere and never found anything. Was it in one of Sam's interviews? Or was this his old VA? Either way i don't see it, especially now, maybe in MWIII we'll get something more but i don't see IW or anyone really going that far to unravel a mysterious characters backstory and whatnot, it would kinda ruin the whole vibe and purpose me thinks. Alas.
From what I looked at I couldn't find anything. Trying to find information on upcoming installments is getting increasingly difficult, with promises for a potential second release this year. As well as many hopes for a remaster or sequel to Call of Duty: Ghosts, and the usual installments in order placing Black Ops as needing the next game.
As for speculation as to why these rumors popped up... Might actually have to do with Call of Duty: Ghost's cult following.
Classic Ghost does have a comic completely going into detail about their backstory, while Reboot doesn't. However when searching up "Call of Duty Ghost", searches can easily get mixed up with one of the forgotten children of COD.
There's the historical line (Cod: Vanguard, Cod WW2, etc), Black Ops' line (Black Ops, Cold War, World at War), Modern Warfare, Futuristics (Infinite Warfare, Advanced), and Ghosts.
Ghosts is kind of it's stand alone. The game itself took a lot of inspiration off of the character Ghost, and ties itself into the story with references to him. In fact the Modern Warfare 2 (2022) campaign also made a lot references back to the game Ghosts, even potentially tying it to the story more than already done.
Perhaps the hopeful speculation to see another Ghosts installment turned into a rumor along the way. Or maybe people got confused about the origins of Ghost's backstory in the comics, and prompted ideas about a game forming in its stead.
Maybe people's obsession with this unique character is bringing up ideas for him to have his own game, as this same rumor has happened in the past with the first one. Either way I didn't find anything.

What're your thoughts on Ghost x Soap? Im so glad they're a main big thing amongst the large variety of fans and fanarts!
Do you think that writers and devs made it intentional or to be precise given them enough chemistry so they can work both ways? Either way, i love them ❤️🙌
I'm not a big shipper, and not a fan of most ships, but I love Ghost x Soap. I occasionally go search for the content, and like that kind of stuff.
Although they've formed chemistry in the past with lots of different pairings, I do feel like some intentionally spicier chemistry was added this time around for Ghost and Soap, especially with the actors playing into it.
I personally believe this is because Call of Duty is trying to embrace it's more women and lgbt+ based audience.
I believe the chemistry is written in such a way that it's ambiguous. Easy to interpret as close friends, a platonic relationship, a not so platonic relationship. Because they definitely have something arguably very intense. Mason and Woods is a bromance (other amazing ship) , but Ghost and Soap are truly teetering on romance sometimes I swear
