I told myself in wintertide miracles I didn't care about Finis's route all up until today when I saw this hot drink of water that is in it yes granted he is practically what Saint Germain was but he is still hot. We had returned to London after quite some time away.

While my lover Sholmes and I were in the middle of a date—.

'—Oh-'

The sound of something snapping echoed along with the sound of his voice.

 Wondering what had happened, I turned towards Sholmes—.

‘Oh? Since when did you start wearing your hair down…..?’

Sholmes’s hair, which was usually tied up, had completely come undone.

Seeing his hair look unexpectedly different, Sholmes laughed as if not sure what to do.

‘Ah, no, I didn’t let it down myself. It would appear that the tie holding it up has snapped.’

As he explained, Sholmes touched his hair as if restless.

Similarly, apart from when it was time to sleep or after he had just come out of the bath, I never saw his hair this way either, so it was a strange feeling for me too.

‘If it makes you uncomfortable, should we buy a hair tie from a shop somewhere?’

‘…..No, I’ve got spares at the office. Let’s continue our date. I could not bear to have my time with you wasted on something that is just for my convenience.’

‘Heheh. You don’t need to worry so much about something like that.’

As he smiled and put his arm through mine, I drew as close to him as I could without it becoming difficult to walk.

And when I did, Sholmes’s free flowing hair touched my cheek.

‘Seeing it like this…..your hair really is very beautiful, Sholmes.’

‘Really? From my point of view I’ve just been letting it grow longer out of laziness…..’

‘.....H~m. That it’s so pretty even without you doing any upkeep on it is kind of unfair I think.’

‘Hahaha. To me, your hair is much more beautiful.’

As if in unison with Sholmes’s smile, the strands of his hair softly swayed in the wind. And as it did—

—Um, excuse me!

‘..........?’

A voice called out from a short distance behind us.

I had no idea who they were calling for but—

‘Oh, it appears they mean us? This voice isn’t a familiar one, however…..’

Sholmes immediately determined that the voice had been calling out to us.

As I stopped walking at the same time as Sholmes, turning around to look behind me—just as he had deduced, I could tell that two men were heading directly towards us, walking quickly as they came closer.

‘Hmph…..Cardia. Just in case, would you mind getting back behind me? I don’t sense any hostility from them but…..considering the level of safety in this area, there’s no guarantee they’re not up to no good.’

‘A-Alright.’

Following Sholmes’s instructions, I took a step back—despite them still being a short distance away.

It was obvious that the men were looking our way as they smiled and waved their hands.

Facing Sholmes, who was being cautious, hiding me behind him, they called out-

—Hey there. What a truly lovely pair of sisters we’ve got here.

—If you don’t mind, how about having some tea with us after this?

‘————’

‘............Huh?’

Sholmes stiffened.

I was having trouble making sense of the words I had heard just now.

...........U-Um-

Just now…..If I hadn’t heard them wrong-

—“Sisters.” Is that what they’d called Sholmes and I….?

‘Um…..Sholmes?’

‘.....Ha, hahaha. Of all things- Not even I could have predicted this.’

—Sholmes’s laugh seemed somehow lacking in energy.

Just as I was wondering what to say-

The men drew nearer to us with rapid footsteps…..finally arriving right before Sholmes’s eyes.

It would appear they had been trying to chat us up in order to take us to tea.

With an expression on his face that could be called friendly, one of the men went to speak to Sholmes.

‘—Hey, what exactly is it you want with me? My apologies, but right now I am in the middle of a date with my beloved.’

Hearing his “voice” as he spoke with a pleasant smile, they froze. Looking baffled, they once more took a good look at Sholmes’s face and figure—noting the “height difference” between him and I, who was hiding a little ways behind…..it appeared they had finally noticed that Sholmes was a man.

—P-Pardon us…..!!

Seeming truly awkward as they apologised, the men quickly took their leave.

…..However, it was even more awkward for us, still standing in the same spot.

‘.....Sholmes. Um, that was…..?’

‘My hair being unbound as the cause notwithstanding, to think I would be mistaken for a woman…..and that you and I would be taken for sisters is something I really did not expect.’

So speaking, he sighed.

All the same, since they had been able to realise that he was a man straight away, it appeared he had not taken too great a shock from what had happened.

Even so, Sholmes, in his own way, was likely at least a little perturbed—

‘.....If anything…..perhaps I should take this as an opportunity to cut my hair once and for all. If I do, there won’t be any more strange misunderstandings, like just now—’

‘Y-You musn’t!’

Hearing me raise my voice so suddenly, Sholmes’s eyes widened.

Still, there was absolutely no way I could accept what he’d said just now…..!

‘I-I like your hair, Sholmes…..! And also, if you cut it short, I won’t be able to do the hair care I always do for you after you have your bath…..!’

Hearing me insist so strongly, to the point that even I knew I’d gotten too worked up—

‘—Fufu, I see. That certainly would be…..a problem. We’d be losing out on one more reason for us to touch each other.’

Smiling, Sholmes nodded.

‘.....I understand. If it bothers you that much, I shall give up on cutting my hair. However, let’s see…..perhaps in exchange…..Cardia. Even if it’s just a little, why not try growing your hair out longer too?’

‘.....? Me?’

‘Yes. Ever since we’ve met, you’ve had the same hairstyle, right? Of course, even now you are more than lovely enough but…..’

Sholmes suddenly took up a tuft of my hair—.

‘I, too…..would love to see your beautiful, shining hair gently swaying in the wind.’

Without hesitation, he kissed me affectionately—.

This was supposed to be for @asususasa but in the middle of writing I thought this could be useful for someone else, so here's Tacky's general list of otome recs. It took me over an hour to write so I'm not proofreading it.

DS

Not much to say here because back in those days otome games didn't get localized. The stand outs are Tokimeki Memorial Girl's Side 1st Love Plus and Tokimeki Memorial Girl's Side 2nd Season, who have English fan translations. Slice of life games where you play as the protagonist through her three years of high school. And if you feel like a student-teacher romance that would make Sakura Kinomoto's mom proud, these are your games.

PSP

Still well into the no localizations era with one exception: Hakuouki Demon of the Fleeting Blossom. Not recommending it on PSP because there are better versions. Tokimeki Memorial Girl's Side 3rd Story Premium also has a fan translation and should be played over its DS counterpart because it has added functionalities. Sadly this time around the teacher is a secret character and a shota.

3DS

There's Hakuoki Memories of the Shinsengumi. Still not recommended because we can do better.

PS3

Hakuouki Stories of the Shinsengumi includes the original game and the fandisk with some neat animations added. This is the version to play if you want the original experience. If you want even more routes, go for another version.

Vita

Hakuoki Kyoto Winds and Edo Blossoms, Collar x Malice and Amnesia are the best games you can get for the Vita imo. Some people dig a lot the Psychedelica of the Ashen Hawk and Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly (I've only played BB, it was good but wasn't the best; wouldn't rate it as high as the others). There's Code Realize and its two fandisks (Future Blessings and Wintertide Miracles) and many people swear by them, but while I liked the common route in the first game, the rest didn't do it for me. You can find all of these except CxM and the CRs on Steam, and the Hakuoki games get dirst cheap on sale. Best bang for your buck of the saga. The CR games have PS4 ports and CxM has a Switch one, which you already know.

Switch

*rolls up sleeves* LET'S GO.

To get it out of the way: Hakuouki KW and EB are getting a Switch rerelease and a new translation and will be released as a single game, Hakuoki Chonicles of Wind and Blossom, on August 1st.

Collar x Malice fucking nails the mystery and lowkey horror vibes with and excellent plot that's interconnected in every route. CxM Unlimited is its fandisk and only recommended if you really have the CxM itch, because it's mostly fluff and the little plot there is is at most functional. It has a route where Ichika joins Adonis and you get to see its inner workings though. That was very interesting.

Bustafellows is 100% found family vibes with a very assertive protagonist. It's a mystery/action story and the team dynamics are sort of Ocean's 11-ish. Hilarious, heartbreaking at times, I've never felt more dread in a game than heading towards the basement in a certain's guy's route. There are two unlockable stories after you finish the routes of the guys, one of which I thought was glorious, another which sets up a sequel and is a big downer but I also really liked. It gets heavy at times with murder, suicide, sexual assault, human trafficking, among other kinds of violence, but despite it, it's generally a very funny and upbeat game. We're getting the sequel next year. Also available on PC.

Café Enchanté baits you with the premise of being a girl who manages a coffee shop patronized by handsome supernatural beings, so it's a real surprise when the cannibalism shows up. Anyway. Great game, but I'm afraid saying more would kind of defeat the point. Reminds me of Megami Tensei games, so if coffee shop AUs with supernatural world-ending threats are your thing, go for it. Just be warned that the fandom has kind of collectively agreed that poster boy's route never happened.

Birushana is a hidden gem that goes on sale super cheap and is also probably a hit or miss thing. You play as the legendary Yoshitsune, who in this game is a girl disguising her gender, but she's an amazing warrior as in history. It has the best otome couple I've ever seen, bar none, with Yoshitsune and Noritsune. The game is worth the price just to see them fall in love on the battlefield and watch Noritsune chug down Respect Women Juice all the way through it. The thing is... the rest of routes aren't great. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed how utterly unhinged they got at times, but the plot got worse as it deepened. Still. Noritsune. And I loved that most of the guys respected her as a warrior and were aware she was as capable or a better warrior than them and she didn't need a man to protect her. Very refreshing. One of my faves got done dirty by the translation because they started pulling lines out of thin air to make him creepier. Just him. Why. It's not like he needed the help.

Virche Evermore Error Salvation is also a good one if you can handle continuous drama and see egregiously bad science and say, "You know what? It's magic. Humans in this world are just built different." The worldbuilding is really interesting and the characters very enjoyable, though they don't feature a lot in each other's routes or aren't that friendly with each other. The continuous tragedy may tire you out, or maybe it'll work and emotionally destroy you. It didn't get any emotional reaction out of me until a certain point near the end, but I enjoyed the game a lot, nevertheless. We're getting the sequel this November and I'm really looking forward to it.

Variable Barricade: a fun romp where a young heiress has to chose a fiancé among the four disaster bachelors her grandpa has selected. It's not really similar to Ouran, but it reminded me a little of it at times. It's a pretty light game. The BFF is a gothic lolita otaku who has the time of her life shipping you with the guys, and the butler... oh boy the butler.

Amnesia, as I mentioned earlier, has a PC port as well as the Vita version, as well as two localized fandisks for the Switch (Amnesia x Crowd) that I can't speak of because I haven't played them yet. The protagonist has supernatural amnesia and must piece together her life while avoiding that other people realize she's lost her memory. It's a super intriguing game the first time you play, really nailed the being completely and utterly lost in the protagonist's shoes. A required play to get in on the cage jokes. It's sort of a rite of passage for otome gamers.

Jack Jeanne has probably the best group dynamics of any otome I've seen. I think some people have issues with the protagonist because they find her passive, but to me she felt the complete opposite. Everybody is adorable. A sentimental story of hard work, being young and and fighting for your dreams, 10/10, no notes. I lied, there's a note: Tanakamigi deserved a route! Where is our Tanakamigi route! щ(゜ロ゜щ)

Last but not least at all, the two Piofiores. Mafia games where all trigger warnings you can think of apply. Well, maybe not the cannibalism, that's still Café Enchanté's crowning glory. Fated Memories, the first one, has its ups and downs, but has very enjoyable characters, rock-solid worldbuilding, an amazing atmosphere set in 1920s Italy with a jazzy soundtrack that ends up living rent free in your brain. The last routes of the first game, Gil's and Finale, are worth the full price of the game alone. Piofiore Episodio 1926 is a masterpiece of the otome genre. It doesn't have a single boring route, and the final stretch (Advent Calendar-Alternativa-Secret Character route) has the best writing I've seen in an otome. Lots of points of view and situations interconnecting, an excellent final couple, top notch interactions between the main characters. Just the best.

My favorite thing about the Code Realize fandiscs is

The relationship between Finis and Cardia. It’s especially noticeable in Wintertide Miracles. The growth of Finis from an antagonist into a protective little brother.

Especially at the end of his Sequel - when Cardia says that the family is growing, and Finis just instantly tries to figure out who wooed his older sister, only to learn that Cardia is talking about Sisi the Corgi.

I just love this sibling relationship - that Cardia has softened Finis and taught him humanity. It’s adorable. It’s heartwarming.

2) Otome I would like to play

Right off the top of my head, I'd love to dive into Collar x Malice Unlimited, Piofiore: Episodio 1926, Virche Evemore: Epic Lycoris, and Radiant Tale Fanfare!

However, seeing as those are fandisc/sequels and I still need to finish the original games, I kinda can't. Not without running into massive spoilers and being left totally confused at least.

And actually, Epic Lycoris and Fanfare have yet to release in English so even if I did already play through Virche and RT, I wouldn't be able to play them right away...

Okay okay! But for a title that isn't a fandisc, the only otome that is currently catching my eye is Cupid Parasite.

Which is weird because literally none of the love interests in that game have long, luscious hair which is my usual weakness. But the art looks good and the concept of the literal Greek Cupid working as a matchmaker for the most un-matchable men ever seems funny.

And I have a feeling that there would be more going on than just cringefail men making out with a Greek deity.

24) Favorite otome

I've mentioned Cinderella Phenomenon as a fave of mine before. So another one of my favorite otomes would be Code Realize: Guardian of Rebirth, as well as the two fandiscs Future Blessings and Wintertide Miracles.

I just... KJAHGIOAUEHTIAEHKJBELIGHEAKLJAEIUTHALEKTHA!

I really love the series! It did take me a while to really warm up to it but once I let myself get absorbed in the world and the characters, I got really attached. And with each entry into the series I played, the more I loved all of it. Cardia is such a sweet but strong-willed heroine. Several love interests stole my heart with their tragic stories. And for the ones that didn't leave me in tears, they were decent enough and good for getting a laugh out of me.

The side characters are pretty interesting too. Delly and Finis are like my baby brothers. Queen Victoria kinda talks down to Cardia and the boys at times but we can forgive her because she's kinda cool in how she's like "the kingdom and its people are my children, and a mother protects her children." Watson. Just Watson. He's a treasure.

The artwork of the game is beautiful too! UDAHGAEUHIAHR! All of them are winners in my opinion. ESPECIALLY HERLOCK! He may have needed to wait for the fandisc to get his route but it was made up for by all his cgs being LITERALLY THE BEST!

And the thing is, I love Code Realize so much that as I came close to completing the third game... All I needed was to read the epilogues of Wintertide Miracles and then I'd have the full stories and all the cgs... I was close to completing it and I paused and went "wait, I don't want the story to end yet. I want to keep falling in love with this game and the characters."

So I decided to delete my save data for all three games and buy other otomes to play so I could delay seeing the end of Code Realize's story. If I saw the ending, then the story would be concluded and I didn't want to imagine closing the book on Code Realize! AAAAAHHHHHHH!

I'm gonna replay Code Realize and actually see the epilogues of Wintertide Miracles one day. But not for a long time!

I just want the series to stay alive in my head with the ending just out of reach for as long as possible... That's how much I love it.

25) Free question: what otome games will you recommend me to play?

If you're looking to play an otome game, I'd suggest Cinderella Phenomenon.

It's free to play and available either through Steam or itch.io. The basic premise centers on a princess breaking a curse placed on her by a witch and along the way, she falls in love with a handsome young man, also under a curse. But even that base idea has a few twists to it.

Cinderella Phenomenon (or Cin Phen for short) is a straightforward, choice-based dating sim. And even light on how many choices you make. Not counting the Common Route (which is the section of an otome before you're locked for a single guy), you only make 21 choices total, three per chapter with a guy, excluding the final chapter which is either the Good or Bad Ending. Cin Phen is also nice in that you are allowed to have a guide, the Right Choice Indicator, to clue you in on when you've made a choice leading you to the Good Ending. It can be delayed for some choices and you can even turn it off if you want to play blind.

While I... disagree with a trope used in one route, all of the main characters and a good majority of the supporting cast are good, likeable people who each deserve a happy ending. No one is perfect and a couple show difficult sides of themselves at times but it makes the characters rounded and entertaining.

There are also dark themes like political corruption, emotional manipulation/abuse, and death. Though I'd still say Cin Phen is a pretty safe starting point when it comes to dating sim.

เนื้อเรื่องในบทพิเศษจะต่อจากเนื้อเรื่องหนุ่มๆจากภาค Future Blessing ซึ่งเราอยากเล่นอันนี้ตั้งแต่เริ่มเล่นภาคนี้เลย 5555 เพราะค้างคาใจรูทฟรานมากๆค่ะ เล่นไปก็นั่งซึมเส้นทางชีวิตรักคุณหมอเหลือเกิน แต่พอเปิดเกมดันเป็นรูทต่อจากของฟินิสซะงั้น แอบเศร้าว่าไม่มีเรื่องต่อของภาคหลักแล้วเหรอ ;w; 

มารู้ไม่นานมานี้ตอนเจอรีวิวตปท.บอกว่ายังมีบทพิเศษต่อจากภาคก่อนอยู่ แสดงว่าเครื่องหมาย ??? ในหน้าโฮมคืออันนี้นี่เอง (ซึ่งก็จริงด้วย จบลูแปงแล้วเปิดได้เลย 😍)

ถึงอย่างนั้นคริสมาสต์ก็ต้องขอบอกว่าดีมากเหมือนกันค่ะ!! เพราะคาร์เดียจังเป็นสาวน้อยมั่นใจตัวเองจนส่งความรักในน้องชายได้ก็น่ารักมุ้งมิ้งดี รู้สึกว่าเรื่องอบอุ่นอ่อนโยนกว่าในภาคหลักด้วย!

เท้าความเดิมด้วยตัวเองก่อน (ที่แทบจะจำไม่ได้แล้ว---) เนื้อเรื่องในรูทหลักของฟรานคือการหยุดแผนของราชินีวิคตอเรีย ความตั้งใจของควีนเหมือนกับพ่อนางเอกคือต้องการให้มีสงคราม จะได้ไม่หยุดพัฒนา ซึ่งเราก็หยุดแผนควีนและหยุดพิษนางเอกได้ในที่สุด ในตอนท้ายฟรานก็ผสมยาแก้พิษให้นางเอกได้ด้วยอีกต่างหาก โกงสมเป็นคุณหมอมาก เพราะนอกจากรูทลูแปงแล้วก็มีรูทฟรานนี่แหละที่แก้พิษได้ในเนื้อเรื่องหลักได้ 

คุณฟรานผู้ใจดีก็เริ่มบทใน future blessing ได้น่ารักมุ้งมิ้ง แต่องค์กร Idea โผล่มายื่นข้อเสนอให้ฟรานเป็นหนึ่งในสาวก สภาพของคาร์เดียที่อาจจะมีอายุยืนยาวเป็นอมตะอีก ฟรานกับนางเอกก็อยู่ในสถานะต้องเลือก ซึ่งฟรานเองก็เลือกที่จะเป็นคนธรรมดาที่จะอยู่กับนางเอกและจะทำให้นางเอกได้จากไปในฐานะคนธรรมดาให้ได้ ฉากจบทั้งคู่ก็จุมพิตสาบานรักกันที่หน้าโบสถ์ 

เล่นไปก็ซับน้ำตาไป บีบคั้นอารมณ์ยิ่งนัก ทำไมกันนน คุณหมอออกจะใจดีช่วยปรุงยาให้รูทคนอื่นแท้ๆ ทำไมฟรานต้องเจอกับบททดสอบหนักหน่วงชีวิต ฮืออ 😭😭

เปิดรูทในภาควินเทอร์มาด้วยนางเอกช่วยฟรานอยู่ในห้องทดลอง (ก็คือเกือบลืมไปแล้วว่าฟรานเป็นอัลเคมิสต์ ไม่ใช่หมอ 😂😂) รูทนี้ฟรานจะเลือกกลับมาทำงานอัลเคมิสต์ในวังอีกครั้ง พอคาร์เดียจังดูจะทำอะไรอันตรายหมอฟรานก็เขามากอดข้างหลังแล้วหยุดไว้ก่อน  (วินาทีนั้นคืออิจฉาจังเลยค่าาาา แล้วเสียงฟรานตอนบอกว่าไม่ได้นะคือเขินมากก) นางเอกก็เขินๆกันไป น่ารักมาก

ทั้งสองคนก็คุยกันเรื่องยาที่ทำให้โฮโลโลเกียมของนางเอกหยุดทำงาน ซึ่งก็เริ่มมีหนทางแล้ว ถึงจะดูน่ากลัวที่บอกว่าอีก 50-60 ปีค่อยทำให้หยุดเหมือนหลับไป แต่นางเอกก็ดูเตรียมใจไว้ดีและฟรานเองก็ยอมรับได้ เอาเป็นว่าปัญหาในภาคที่แล้วเคลียร์แล้วใสสะอาดหมดจด พอคาร์เดียกลับไปบ้าน เพื่อนร่วมงานฟรานก็แซวกันว่ารักกันดีกับภรรยาแบบนี้งานแต่งก็คงดีสินะ ฟรานก็อ้ำอึ้งบอกว่า เอ่อ ยังไม่ได้เข้าพิธีกันครับ....

กลับมาบ้านฟรานก็ถามว่าคาร์เดียจังอยากแต่งงานไหม น้องก็บอกว่าไม่เป็นไร มีชีวิตตอนนี้ก็มีความสุขแล้ว มีความสุขจนกลัวว่าถ้าโลภกว่านี้จะถูกลงโทษ ;w; ฟรานเลยแน่วแน่บอกว่าคาร์เดียตอนนี้เป็นผู้หญิงธรรมดานะ อยากทำอะไรก็ได้ อยากปรารถนาที่จะแต่งงานก็ได้นะ

ทั้งสองคนเลยเริ่มหาโบสถ์แต่งงานกัน แต่ดันมาหาในช่วงเดือนที่คนนิยมแต่งงาน ก็เลยแทบไม่มีโบสถ์ว่าง ฟรานเองก็ทำทั้งงานและหาที่จัดงานแต่งไปด้วย ฟรานคิดถึงตอนที่บอกว่าอยากแต่งงานไหมแล้วคาร์เดียจังดูมีจังหวะหนึ่งที่น่าจะอยาก ก็อยากให้น้องพูดความต้องการออกมา ไม่ได้อยากแต่งเพราะความต้องการของตัวฟรานคนเดียว คิดวนไปวนมาก็ถึงเวลาไปรายงานผลวิจัยกับควีนพอดี

ควีนกับเลออนฮาร์ทก็เห็นว่าฟรานสีหน้าไม่ดี เลยถามจนได้ความ เลออนฮาร์ทจะบอกว่าถ้าคาร์เดียจังบอกว่าไม่เป็นไรก็ไม่เป็นไรก็ได้มั้ง ควีนจะบอกอย่างเด็ดขาดว่าไม่ได้ๆ คู่รักคนอื่นอาจจะอยู่ด้วยกันโดยไม่จัดงานแต่งได้ แต่คาร์เดียจังจะไม่ใช่แบบนั้น ซึ่งฟรานเข้าใจจุดนี้ดีใช่ไหม (สื่อความว่าเพราะฟรานอยากให้นางเอกได้กล้าที่จะมีความต้องการที่อยากจะทำสิ่งต่างๆในฐานะมนุษย์จริงๆ งานแต่งก็เป็นการให้ความมั่นใจและคำอวยพร (และน้องก็ดูอยากนิดหน่อยด้วย))

ควีนก็อยากจะช่วย แต่ควีนก็ถือว่าทุกคนเท่ากัน จะไปลัดคิวคนอื่นก็ไม่ได้ (สมเป็นควีนจริงๆค่ะ!!) แต่แล้วก็ได้ไอเดียใหม่ ซึ่งถ้าควีนจะช่วย ให้ฟรานแสดงความรักที่มีกับนางเอกให้ดูหน่อย ซึ่งฟรานก็พร้อมที่จะ presentation อย่างเต็มที่

นางเอกที่ตั้งใจจะไปหาฟรานที่ทำงาน ไปเจองานแต่ง เห็นผู้คน เห็นเจ้าบ่าวเจ้าสาว แล้วยังได้ช่อดอกไม้มาด้วย พบว่าตัวเองก็อยากรู้สึกแบบนี้เหมือนกัน พอฟรานตามมาเจอก็เลยบอกความต้องการของตัวเองออกไป ฟรานเองก็ดีใจ คุกเข่าขอแต่งงาน (กรี้ดมากกกกก ซีจีหล่อมากๆ)

ทั้งสองคนก็ได้จัดงานแต่งที่โบสต์ประจำชาติที่เคยเป็นฐานทัพลับของโทโซกาเระมาก่อน และได้รับการบูรณะใหม่แล้ว งานแต่งทั้งคู่เป็นงานฉลองเปิดโบสถ์พอดี เฉลยมาว่าการพรีเซนเทชั่นความรักของฟรานคือการนำเสนอแผนแต่งงานให้ราชินีอย่างเต็มที่นั่นเอง 55555

So the next man on my list of men I think would make the best husbando's and why is none other than Herlock Sholmes in Code Realize Future Blessings & Wintertide Miracles. He is in the first Code Realize but isn't apart of the love interests in it which was stupid since he was one of the better guys.

The way he smiles you can truly know how much happiness you bring to him. He has a special smile that he only shows to you to let you know that you are the only one who can bring eternal bliss to him. His soul and heart are as one as long as he is smiling back at your beautiful face.

Episode_05 Saint

……It was the last day of the year.

Steel London.

Although the sun had just set, the streets and town were bustling with many people that were celebrating the new year that was just around the corner.

Although amongst them were likely families and pairs of lovers hoping to greet that moment in a more peaceful way.

Saint-Germain and I were a part of that group. The two of us were inside the mansion in the parlor, quietly reading. However, I couldn't help but become conscious of the new year's drawing closer with each tick tock of the grandfather clock as the needle moved forward.

It seemed that Saint-Germain felt the same way, as he put down the book on astrology he had been reading beside him and smiled.

'Fufu. One can't help but think about it, right?'

'Yeah……I feel like the clock sounds louder than usual today somehow.'

'The end of a whole year— we're about to face a significant turning point. It's to be expected.'

'......You're right.'

We sat before the warm fireplace.

We took turns looking back on the turbulent year that seemed somehow both very long and very short for the both of us—as well as memories of things that had happened since we had met.

'To me, who lived in that mansion in Wales as if I were a doll……time seems to have passed by in an instant since meeting you and the others.'

First, I spoke about the swiftness of time.

'Conversely— to me, living in eternity, where a mere year usually passed by in the blink of an eye……since meeting you, time has felt slower than ever before, each and every moment has become a precious memory.'

On the other hand, Saint-Germain spoke about the slowness of time.

When put into words like this, although the ways we had lived were the exact opposite, perhaps the way in which we experienced the concept of "time" was the same, in that it differed from that of a normal person.

'The two of us have "changed." Surely, that is something to be welcomed.'

'.....Yeah. For sure. It's why this is a special moment for us.'

We both chuckled together.

……And, as we did so, Sisi came to nuzzle up against us. It seemed that it was time for his supper.

'Ah, I'd better go prepare Sisi's dinner now.'

As I murmured those words and stood up, Saint-Germain looked as if he were thinking about something—

'It's New Years after all. Such an important day is to be celebrated, so let us try making dinner for ourselves as well.'

And so, we headed for the kitchen.

Saint-Germain had changed into some light clothing that was easy to move around in, and was wearing an apron. 

He had opened a recipe book that Impey had left for us, and was following its instructions.

'Hmm……oh dear— The vegetables ended up in an odd shape.'

He looked down near his hands, and laughed self-deprecatingly. On the chopping board lay unevenly cut pieces of carrot. It seemed as if the usually skilful Saint-Germain had somehow botched the vegetable cutting.

'They'll break down when we put them into the stew so don't worry. But……heheh. It's rare to see you fail at something, Saint-Germain.'

'Haha. I am quite ashamed of myself.'

Regardless of his current embarrassed state, Saint-Germain continued to speak.

'Having tried to do it myself……I realise now just how much Impey exercised his ingenuity in making delicious food each day for us……back when we all lived together.'

Hearing what he said, I gave a small nod of agreement.

There had been a fair few of us in Lupin's gang.

Even just to cook our normal everyday meals, it must have been quite a bit of work.

'Yeah. But even then Impey always looked like he was having fun. He's to be commended.'

'Dear me, even if I was the one that brought it up, I shall be jealous hearing you praise Impey like that, you know?'

'Heheheh. You're pretty refreshing today, Saint-Germain. Messing up cutting the vegetables and getting all jealous.'

'Ah……it has to be because you and I have "changed" after all.'

They were gentle words, said as if reflecting on something.

In the time that had stopped.

In the time that disappeared.

I likely wouldn't be able to pinpoint exactly when the little changes in my beloved had occurred.

And surely……I would not be the only one to be unreasonably happy about that fact.

We successfully finished cooking dinner.

Sisi had quickly eaten all his dinner much faster than us, and apparently satisfied, had instantly fallen asleep, slightly snoring as he did so.

'This is delicious……you had the right idea, Saint-Germain. Adding sugar to the sauce gave it a smoother taste.'

'I am glad it is to your liking—although actually, it was something I learned from Impey a long time ago.'

'A long time ago……by that, you mean back when you first spoke to Lupin and Impey and invited them to stay in the mansion……?'

If I recalled correctly, it had all began when Lupin and Impey had been at a pub talking together about their work and plans. Saint-Germain had called out to them and offered his assistance, saying it seemed like fun.

'Yes, it was around that time. Heheheh, how nostalgic. Back then……even though I had been the one to offer my assistance, they also ended up helping me out quite a lot.'

'Helped you out?'

This was also a sentence I hadn't expected to hear. Saint-Germain looked toward the kitchen, and continued to speak.

'Yes. Because as you know…… I don't employ servants to help maintain this mansion.'

Although he had done enough to keep the place clean for appearance's sake, it had still been rather difficult for one person considering the mansion's size.

'In particular, when Impey saw the kitchen was completely unused, he practically screamed. "What on earth is this! What a waste!"'

'Ahaha. I can easily imagine.'

Lupin being Lupin, he took the initiative in helping out with cleaning here and there, saying that it was as thanks for Saint-Germain's assistance.

They were only two more people.

And yet, two more people there were.

'.......After Lupin and Impey came here to stay, I feel as if the time I used to spend meaninglessly changed just a little. And then—'

Saint-Germain quietly, but with a gaze full of love, looked at me.

'—Miss Cardia. Then, I met you.'

'............Yeah.'

I put down the utensils I had been using to eat dinner, and listened carefully to his next words.

'The person I was back then could never have imagined— that our relationship could become one in which we would spend time together like this. No, strictly speaking……I had probably completely erased from my mind the idea that I was an existence that could obtain that sort of possibility.

I……was an immortal monster.

Living time in perpetuity, a lonely traveller unable to stand at the side of another.'

As Saint-Germain looked around the dining hall where Lupin's gang used to eat their meals, as if chasing after their shadows, he murmured in a voice that was full of some kind of emotion— 

'The reason you and others gathered here in this mansion was not a coincidence, but something I planned, it was an inevitability that we would be drawn together.'

'......Saint-Germain, that's……'

Though I tried to interject, Saint-Germain shook his head and cut me off.

'But it was fun. Truly…….to the point that I forgot the position I was supposed to be in. Miss Cardia, I will say it again and again. Meeting you "changed" my world.'

A few moments of silence.

The few emotions within his words.

As if answering them, I continued to speak.

'It's the same for me. I knew I was a monster, but even then, I couldn't help but feel the time that I spent with you and everyone else was……fun. I wanted it to continue on forever.'

In the indigo blue of his opened eyes, there was an overflowing joy—

The truth of Saint-Germain's feelings towards his friends was clearly conveyed.

'Just having all of us together, every single day was a huge uproar. Those days were so fulfilling…...it was a little too difficult to keep my distance.'

'Hehe……it's as you say, Saint-Germain. It was impossible to stay quiet in a group like that one.'

Impey's explosive inventions.

Van Helsing's tough love.

Victor's frantic persuasiveness and at times unusual medicines.

Lupin and Leonhart's two person cat-and-mouse performance.

'Delly and Sisi. And so many others, as well. ……Rather, it would have been stranger to have been able to stay indifferent.'

Each and every one of the memories that spilled out made us smile.

'Ah, the airship race….. The Black Gathering was particularly memorable. Although, of course it was a good memory because everyone worked together in order to win—’

‘But, I think the most memorable thing about it was “that”.’

‘Yes, without a doubt.’

And then we spoke at the same time.

‘—The Helsing Cannon.’

‘……….’

‘Fu-.....’

‘Fufufu-’

Unable to hold back at the words the two of us had spoken simultaneously, we burst into spontaneous laughter.

‘....Well, it cannot be helped. He really was just so intense.’

‘Yeah. Although I think Van might get mad if he heard you say that.'

After finishing supper, we continued to endlessly reminisce—.

At last, just a few moments before the time came for the date to change.

We were once again in the common room, spending our time quietly.

The needle of the clock moved forward.

A new year was about to begin.

‘Ah…..it’ll be time soon.’

Saint-Germain picked up the two glasses that were beside him. One he moved toward himself, and the other he handed to me.

And, after opening the wine bottle that had been prepared on the table— he held it out towards me.

‘This is a wine I prepared for you. A toast to celebrate the beginning of a new time. If you would.’

‘.....Yes, gladly.’

A beautiful wine colour was poured out into the glass.

‘If I hadn't met you, I would surely….have become a mere empty existence, one that only looked like a human.’

Quietly spoken words.

And then lastly, Saint-Germain lightly swirled the wine in his glass.

‘For meeting me, being by my side, loving me…..Thank you, Miss Cardia.’

—And then, finally.

In the time that we will spend together in the future, that it was a miracle that we met….I promise here and now, I won’t forget that even for a moment.’

Those were the last words he spoke this year.

With a clunk.

The clock hand conveyed the arrival of the new year, and the grandfather clock rang out as if to inform us of it. Surely all of London was feeling that joy.

‘I won’t forget either. This year, or the next….and even beyond that.’

As he held out his glass to toast.

‘So long as I live, I shall be by your side. Let us continue to walk together at the same speed.’

With slightly reddened cheeks and looking extremely happy— Saint-Germain smiled.

My Top 5 Triangle Dates

The triangle dates were a fantastic addition to Wintertide Miracles!! In these stories, Cardia doesn't choose anyone but is free from her poison, so she lives some cliché tropes with two love interests at the same time and I loved that! GIMME MORE FLUFF CONTENT. I played all the dates (besides the secret ones) yesterday so here are my top 5!

5 - Van x Cardia x Saint

This one is less about the boys and more about how I love to see my girl happy. She suffered so much and now she can live as a normal girl, dancing and being sandwiched between two men lol

Btw it's always a pleasure to see Van Helsing being soft towards Cardia.

4 - Victor x Cardia x Impey

Sandwiched Cardia!!

Ok this scenario was so sweet, the smart guys came to rescue their princess from insomnia. Fran made a calming essence from some herbs and Impey the device that sprays it in the air. Their work is successful and I love how they look soft here, looking at her.

3 - Van x Cardia x Impey

One of my favorite tropes is the Caretaking one and I'd love to see Lupin and Victor in this situation, but I have to admit that it was smart to use Impey and Van.

Cardia is having a high fever, they don't have the medical knowledge to help her, and the mansion is conveniently empty, so although they don't have the best synergy in the crew, they have to work together anyways, just for her. I love it.

2 - Van x Cardia x Lupin

I love the umbrella trope, I love Lupin and I love Lupin and Van Helsing's interactions. AND SANDWICHED CARDIA!

It was so cute how Van was planning to share an umbrella with Cardia and how he got embarrassed once Lupin figured out his plan.

Bonus points for sandwiched Cardia laughing softly, so they stop arguing with each other because Cardia is happy and that's the most important thing.

1 - Victor x Cardia x Lupin

The moment I saw this picture on Pinterest, I knew I had to play this FD. Lupin and Victor are my favorite routes!

I wasn't expecting this scenario at all! First of all, poor Victor, he's too shy and feels left behind in the fight for Cardia's heart. One day, he happened to see Lupin and Cardia in an intimate moment (Lupin was actually just teasing Cardia), which made him desperate.

Victor needs the courage to confess his feelings before it's too late, so... He uses a truth serum he made for the queen. It was just a sip but it was enough to surprise Cardia. Lupin sees this as a challenge and then we have this beautiful picture!!!! AAAA

I like this route because once the effects of the serum fade, Cardia tells Victor to not rely on tricks to confess to her, so she'll wait for his next try as if nothing had happened. Lupin, on the other hand, knows Victor will be a worthy rival since he has "woken up", so he won't let his guard down again.
