What Are Coin Counting Machines at Walmart?
Coin counting machines are automated devices that offer a simple, efficient solution for turning your spare change into cash, store credit, or charitable donations. Found at select Walmart locations, these machines take the hassle out of sorting and counting coins manually. Here’s everything you need to know about them.
How Do Walmart Coin Counting Machines Work?
Walmart typically partners with Coinstar, a popular brand of coin counting machines, to provide this service. The process is straightforward:
Deposit Your Coins: Pour your loose change into the machine’s coin tray.
Machine Counts Your Coins: The machine automatically sorts and counts the coins, displaying the total on the screen.
Choose Your Payout Option: Select how you want to receive the value:
Cash: A voucher is printed, which you can exchange for cash at the customer service desk.
eGift Cards: Opt for a fee-free digital gift card to popular retailers.
Charity Donation: Donate your coins directly to a partnered charity.
Why Use a Coin Counting Machine?
Coin counting machines save time and effort compared to manually rolling coins. They’re particularly useful for:
Quick Cash: Get immediate access to money without needing to visit a bank.
Charitable Giving: Make an impact by donating small amounts of change that add up.
Decluttering: Free up space by clearing out jars and piggy banks.
Fees and Cost
While these machines are convenient, they do charge a fee for cash payouts. Typically, the fee is around 11-12% of the total amount counted. However, selecting an eGift card or charity donation option often eliminates these fees, making them cost-effective alternatives.
How to Find a Coin Counting Machine at Walmart
Not all Walmart locations have coin counting machines, so it’s best to check ahead. Use Walmart’s online store locator or call your local branch to confirm availability. Machines are usually located near the entrance or customer service desk for easy access.
Tips for Using Coin Counting Machines
Sort Coins First: Remove foreign objects like paper clips or lint to avoid jams.
Check for Fees: Understand the fee structure before starting, especially for cash payouts.
Opt for Alternatives: Consider eGift cards or donations to avoid fees altogether.
Final Thoughts
Walmart’s coin counting machines offer a hassle-free way to handle loose change. Whether you’re looking to cash out, give back to the community, or reduce clutter, these machines provide a quick and easy solution. Visit your local Walmart to try one out and turn your spare change into something valuable today!

24. bar
Tumblr media
(guest starring @aster-skies's yrja~)
Kaede sat at a table in a quiet corner of the second floor of the Bobbing Cork, a large sack of gil in front of her, as well as several weapons, a few loose gemstones, some rare alchemical reagents, and a ledger. How she had ended up being the one to divvy up the spoils from two separate adventuring forays, she did not quite know. It would have been simpler to take it to Tataru, and let the Scions’ coincounter do the work, but it was rare indeed these days to have the luxury of a job that wasn’t associated with the Scions – and their finders’ fee. She didn’t begrudge the organization their cut, but it was nice to do some honest adventuring again. Besides, after that nonsense with Leviathan, she was more than happy to keep her distance from Mor Dhona for a while. Fighting primals was one thing, getting skewered by a chunk of ship railing and almost bleeding out was entirely another.
By all accounts, Marz’s group’s cleansing of Amdapor had been considerably less entertaining – and more disgusting – than Kaede’s own visit to Halatali, but both had been lucrative in their own ways. Though she had to say, gladitorial prize money was a good deal easier to portion out than random artifacts and bits that might or might not have value to the right person.
The soft scrape of wood on wood drew her attention back up, to find the other side of her table occupied by a tall, elegant viera woman, her white hair drawn back into a ponytail and a tankard of mead in each hand.
Yrja Eruyt was likely the only person in the bar to draw more attention than Kaede herself – and so a strange sort of kinship had sprung up between them, shortly after meeting a few moons previous. Precious few people Kaede had met understood what it was like to be so completely surrounded by people so much different than oneself. Add in the mess that was the Echo, and, well – Kaede was certain that the only thing separating the two of them into “adventurer” and “Warrior of Light” was Kaede’s own tendency to let herself get drawn into other people’s problems, tied down with duty and responsibility. Yrja did not seem to have that problem, coming and going as she pleased. Sometimes Kaede envied her freedom.
…It certainly didn’t hurt that she was gorgeous, either, not to mention deadly with a bow.
She accepted the mug of mead the other woman handed her with a smile. “Have they entirely destroyed the bar yet, or are they simply well on their way?”
“Last I saw, my brother and his miqo’te friend were very loudly arguing about which of them could more successfully seduce Admiral Bloefhiswyn,” Yrja murmured with a smile over the lip of her tankard, and Kaede rolled her eyes.
“Of course they are. At least it’s not Kan-E-Senna, I think that might actually get us arrested,” Kaede muttered under breath, shaking her head. “And Marz?”
“Fleecing some men in Triple Triad, I believe. Though, to her credit, they had been quite crass to the waitress.”
Sighing, Kaede rubbed her forehead. Right on cue, shouting began emanating from the first floor, followed by a string of doman swearing.
Both women glanced over the railing to see the xaela with her hands propped on her hips, staring down several angry wildwood men as a small keeper of the moon girl nervously clutched her drink tray and looked back and forth between the groups. Yrja crossed her legs and tipped her head in a graceful gesture. “I believe that means you owe me five gil?”
Sliding one coin from her own pile to the viera’s, Kaede rose and began packing up hers and Marz’s share. Doubtless it would be needed to pay for repairs. Or bail. “I’m beginning to regret this recurring bet. Yrys always manages to wait until someone else causes trouble to jump in. And that someone… is usually Marz.”
The sound of splintering wood heralded the devolving of the situation into an all-out brawl. Another look down revealed a howling elezen man on the ground, Marz’s foot on the back of his wrist, a knife a few ilms away from his hand, a broken chair still held loosely by a red-haired viera man, and several bar patrons fleeing the scene entirely.
“How many bars is this?” Kaede asked as she slung her bag over her shoulder and tossed two pouches to Yrja.
“That they’ve started trouble in, or been banned from?”
“Is the number different?”
Tipping her head in consideration, Yrja chuckled quietly. “I suppose it isn’t. Shall we reconvene at the Seventh Heaven?”
Considering its status as a front for the Scions’ headquarters, sooner or later that would be the only tavern where certain members of their party were allowed to drink together, apparently, and Kaede sighed. “Sure. I heard there were a few leads on other jobs there, anyway. Turns out some of us might need the extra gil.”
“So it would seem,” Yrja replied, and together they descended into the chaos to retrieve their respective responsibilities.

WoLstinien Week 2024 :: Day 2 :: Colors
Tumblr media
Art was never much of Estinien's forte...but he knows that Nomin enjoys painting, and he enjoys when she is happy. Traversing the stalls of Radz-at-Han, Estinien figures the most colorful city he knows must have the most amount of colors that could possibly be turned into paints for sale. Right?
Word Count: 1,191
Tumblr media
Being in the market was a dangerous thing. Perhaps a far fiercer foe than that of slaying dragons. Especially when the end result could have a chance encounter with either a disappointed wife, or the rather fearsome coincounter of the former Scions of the Seventh Dawn. Though one of them was far scarier a prospect over the other, Estinien persisted down the colorful market stalls of Radz-at-Han.
Estinien had a goal in mind, and with that goal in mind, he did his best to weave through the streets and the people to reach it. He passed stall after stall; those that were selling spices and herbs, those that were selling alchemical wares, those that were selling fabrics, those that were selling jewels and ores. There was just about everything under the sun that he could picture anyone needing or wanting. However, he continued to pass them until he finally got to that one stall.
Upon the display of the stall were various jars, all containing different colors of paints and dyes that one could ever dream of. If there was anything Estinien took note of while traversing the streets of Radz-at-Han aside from the rich foods he often partook in while in the employ of Vrtra, it was the colors. All these colors had to come from somewhere…
“A good day to you, sir! Let me know if anything catches your eye,” chirped a cheerful auri man. A smile spread across his face, and he then pointed out some of the jars to the left of Estinien. “These ones were recently made with some materials only found in Nagxia. Look how brilliant the hues are!”
Estinien did as requested, picking up the glass jar. Indeed, the color was rich, but he had no real eye for them like his wife did. His brow knit together as he looked the color over, doing his best to remember if Nomin had it within her plethora of paints and materials.
“... I require rare colors. What do you have to offer?” Estinien asked, placing the jar back down where he found it.
“Aside from the one you were just holding?” The auri merchant brought a hand to his chin, his fingers brushing along his scales as he thought about it. Leaning down, the sounds of clinking glass bottles were heard, and Estinien simply waited.
One by one, the auri merchant lined up more bottles of paint. They were all colors Estinien knew in some variety or another.
Did Nomin have them?
Estinien tried to recall her paint sets back at the cabin. His lips thinned into a frown as he thought about it. Her canvases had a myriad of colors, some that she simply applied as is, and some she mixed together to make something else she needed to bring more life to her subject. So what was there?
“Is…everything alright, sir?” The merchant noticed the soured look on Estinien’s face.
A sigh fell from Estinien’s nose as he then gathered his thoughts. He kept his words to the point: “... I would defer recommendations to you on what I should get. These paints are for someone else more skilled than I'd ever be in using them.”
“A gift set, then?” The merchant perked up, the telltale flick of his tail curving upwards being something Estinien took note of for genuine elation. Watching Nomin carefully taught him some of the signs to look for.
“Aye, that would be the way of it,” Estinien replied.
A neat wooden box was brought up onto the stall surface as the merchant organized everything. Estinien looked down at the box -- he counted eighteen empty slots. Were so many necessary? He supposed he did say he would trust the merchant with the paints.
A moment passed, and soon, all of the eighteen slots of the box were filled up. Each brass cap lid had a small swath of paint on top to show what color was inside. Glancing at each of them, there were certainly far more vibrant colors than Estinien thought possible, darker colors that would have saved Nomin the trouble of mixing her paint, and some colors he thought were simply common.
Reaching for his gil pouch, Estinien soon placed the sack on the stall counter. There was only a mere moment of hesitation before he asked: “Will this cover the costs?”
The merchant looked at the sack and then up at Estinien. A wide grin spread across his face. “Why sir, this is more than enough to cover it all! Shall I wrap everything?”
“Do what you will.” Estinien brought up a hand, waving almost dismissively in response to the question.
Estinien waited a couple minutes, and the merchant offered the wrapped box of paints to him along with some change from the transaction. Nodding in acknowledgment, Estinien muttered a simple ‘my thanks’ before putting the gil away and taking up the box. He opted to hold the box, ensuring that it would not be rustled nor jostled into potentially cracking any of the jars before he walked to a less busy area.
Taking in a breath, Estinien held the image of the island sanctuary in his mind, his aether responding in kind before he felt the warmth of being whisked away into the aetherstream and having his being transported back to the island. Once the soles of his boots gave way into the white sands of the familiar beach, he looked around to get his bearings straight before walking up the pathways that led to his and Nomin’s cabin.
Unlike it being noon in Radz-at-Han, morning had barely even broken when Estinien returned. He walked past the late night working mammets, ignoring any of their whirrs or greetings. Thankfully, he had gotten much better at that rather than wanting to give in to the urge to dismantle any of them in a primitive fashion.
Quieting his steps when he got up to the porch of the cabin, Estinien had taken note of how all the windows were still dark. That must have meant Nomin was still asleep within. He kept all his movements and actions quiet. This would have been the first time he had been back in the last couple months since leaving to help train Vrtra’s Radiant Host for some extra gil.
Ascending the stairs and walking toward his and Nomin’s room quietly, Estinien opened the door to their bedroom to peek in. As he suspected: Nomin was fast asleep. Walking in, he did his best to keep as quiet as he could, though the slight twitch of Nomin’s tail under the sheets caught his eye. Even in the dim lighting that the morning skies filtering in through the windows offered, he noticed that slight movement.
Estinien watched Nomin carefully, listening for any change in her breathing before proceeding to place the box on the bedside drawer next to her. Once it was placed, he looked down at Nomin, a soft smile spreading across his lips once he took in her peaceful looking visage. Leaning in, he planted a small kiss upon her head.
“I’m home,” Estinien quietly said. “Just in time for your nameday.”

WoL's neutral cuz dungeons are generally harrowing experiences for one reason or another and a lot of them bleed together in the memory.
As a player:
Aurum Vale's main problem is the initial fishbowl room and people being too impatient and/or lacking knowledge of how to effectively pull it. Once you get past that, it's actually a pretty standard and kinda boring dungeon with fewer annoyances than most. They gave Coincounter markers for his mechanics, and so long as one pays attention and eats fruit occasionally on Mistress (which a previous boss fight also teaches), it's not so bad. Even the morbols aren't a problem. The scenery is kinda interesting.
Stone Vigil's problems have been solved by gating areas so the "wall to wall pulls" aren't so dense. The trouble in some of those hallways was people overestimating their capabilities at that level, when DPS have few AOEs or mitigations, the healers don't have several key tools, nor do the tanks--who think they can stand in multiple dragon AOEs while the ice sprites are doing more damage than they realize. Back in the day, it was simpler and even oftentimes faster in at least one hallway to single pull. Now it's less of an issue. The simplified mechanics of some of the bosses is a little disappointing, but makes things much faster.
Stone Vigil Hard could use a redo of it's second boss. Mostly cuz it's damn annoying and the mechanics frustrating at any level, even unsynced that thing is a pain to do. It's not fun. But it's really just that boss, the rest is again honestly pretty standard.

Coin Counters: Simplifying Your Money Management
Coin Counters: Simplifying Your Money Management
Managing loose change can be a hassle, whether it's collecting coins in a jar or dealing with small change after purchases. This is where a coin counter comes in handy. Coin counters are devices designed to count and sort coins quickly and efficiently, saving you time and effort. If you're looking to streamline your coin-handling process, a coin countercould be the perfect solution.
Why Use a Coin Counter?
Coin counters are popular for both personal and business use. For individuals, they provide an easy way to manage loose change, ensuring that every penny is accounted for. Businesses, particularly those handling cash transactions, benefit greatly from these machines as they help reduce manual counting errors and improve efficiency.
Here are a few reasons to consider investing in a coin counter:
Time-Saving: Instead of manually counting and sorting coins, a coin counter does the job in seconds.
Accuracy: These devices are incredibly accurate, ensuring every coin is counted correctly.
Convenience: Whether for personal use or in a small business, it simplifies your cash-handling process.
Types of Coin Counters
When you’re shopping for a coin counter, you'll find various models to suit different needs, from small, personal devices to larger, professional-grade machines. Walmart offers affordable options for both home and office use. Here are some common types of coin counters you can find:
Manual Coin Counters: These are typically small, hand-cranked devices. They're ideal for personal use or small tasks.
Electric Coin Counters: For those who need more speed and convenience, electric coin counters automate the entire process. They're perfect for small businesses or frequent use.
Coin Sorting and Wrapping Machines: Some coin counters also come with sorting and wrapping features, making it even easier to organize your coins into rolls for deposit.
How to Choose the Best Coin Counter at Walmart
When looking for the best coin counter, there are a few key factors to consider:
Capacity: Determine how many coins you need to count at once. Some models are designed for small amounts, while others can handle larger volumes.
Speed: Electric models offer faster counting, which can be useful if you deal with large amounts of change.
Additional Features: Some machines can sort coins by denomination, while others even wrap them into rolls, ready for deposit.

the first set of images of the dungeon are copy pasted rooms from other areas. I think Dzameal and the other more cavernous dungeons? besides getting trimmed down and having the garlean stuff removed*, they didn't change a lot. *i don't remember there ever being any remnants of garlean involvement in ARR vale the new vale is so much better but i do kind of miss coincounter w/ no aoe markers.
Aurum Vale
Tumblr media
Oh boy. We covered Aurum Vale before, but weren't able to get past the entrance.
1.0 has four instanced dungeons, all of which are in 1.0: Aurum Vale, Cutter's Cry, Dzahmael Darkhold and Thousand Maws of Toto-Rok. Before, I wasn't able to get past the entrances, but now I know how to get inside, and took pictures of all four of them.
Instanced dungeons in 1.0 are different than the linear counterparts in ARR. There are bosses, dungeon ends when you beat one. Bosses have a different condition to spawn. There are trash mobs like you'd expect, and treasure chests all around. You also get a number of treasure chests after a boss battle, depending on certain conditions you've accomplished in the dungeon. In ARR, after fighting a boss, the treasure chests that spawn might be off-center, and that's because you'd used to get more in that same dungeon in 1.0. Chest contents *are not* random. Finally, dungeons can be run by 4-8 players.
Anyways, I got inside Aurum Vale, and it's everything you'd expect.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
First, I got into a weird area that was outside the map. It felt like I entered through the "back" door. I'm attributing this to how I got into the dungeon in the first place - it was a bit of a hack of basically glitching through the wall. But the fact that there is actual cave here is interesting to me, even if it's not mapped out. Getting into the dungeon proper meant going through a barrier, seen in the bottom picture above. It makes me wonder if part of the dungeon got cut, because I didn't have this issue with the other dungeons I explored. It might be a case of simply the map not loading correct. But it looks like Aurum Vale, at least the parts towards the end, such as leading to and away from the last Morbol nursery. You'll notice the distinct puke green hue in that last picture.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh yep. The aurum pools exist. Because of lack of scripting, they don't actually do anything, and you can run around in the pee all you want.
Tumblr media
There's a few boss rooms, such as this one, that reminds me of the boss room you fight the giant. By the way, the bosses in Aurum Vale, if I remember correctly are the same ones you fight in ARR - the ochu, the giant and the malboro.
Tumblr media
Aurum Vale is huge in 1.0, and one floor (?) or section has these two complete sections on it. You can see that I'm in the bottom one, but I have no idea how to get to the top one. It's either the case of a hidden cave, or teleport, which might makes sense because...
Tumblr media
There's magitek in Aurum Vale! If you remember old Toto-Rok in ARR, you'll remember that you had to collect photo cells that will deactivate barriers in each boss rooms. *All of the released* of the instanced dungeons in 1.0 have this mechanic, so having some sort of teleport isn't necessarily out of the question. There's another boss room I found with the aurum stuff in it, similar to the first or last boss room in ARR, but I didn't take a picture of it. Honestly, this was all I could really take of it. Somehow I ended up going off the map again, and then got lost and couldn't figure out how to head back. I try not to use "debug" skills when I can, or warping. Reason for this is because if you warp to a place out of bounds, it basically shuts the server down, and then *all* characters are unuseable, the client crashes when you load them up. It's a pain in the ass to fix, honestly, so I try to be careful with what I do, and rely on physically moving place to place, unless I'm trying to get across a barrier.
And that's Aurum Vale in 1.0. Did you enjoy this dungeon in ARR? Would you want it to be a bigger place?

ellie creeps quiet; it doesn't take much to be delicate, the linoleum doesn't squeak after twenty years of rot, the doors do not creak after twenty years of rust. there is the ever present faint tick-tick-tick of fungal ravaged bodies shuffling not far from where they are moving. enough for her to whisper as low as she can dare. "we have to go around."
