There aren’t too many things that drive me crazier than appliance cords. Well, maybe the crooked command strip I adhered a few months go to the back of my mixer! I was on a Command strip trip around the house a while back and found that they are the best kept secret to corraling cords! My mixer cord is thick and has a life of its own but the command strip fixed that unsightly problem. I wouldn’t try this on a hot appliance, but on mixers and blenders they are a perfect solution. 24/7 I'm a mother, a carer and a wife . 8hrs a day, 5 days a week I'm an Early Childhood Educator . It's a proffession I'm so passionate about and this year I've been given the opportunity to lead the nursery room to care and program for 0-2yo. I thought I'd share a hack for any mamas wanting to create a sensory area which i made for the babies in my care . I wanted the sensory resources to be portable as I couldn't have permanent fixtures on walls and I wanted to take it with me to what ever room i get placed in future. It took me some time to think of how, but eventually I did! . . The wall: The main materials used were @ikea_australia cork pot stand and @command picture hanging strips and a hot glue gun. The strips on the cork stand are hot glue gunned on, super glue did not withstand my babies 😅 I glued a variety of visually aesthetic items with different textures, all found in the dollar store. This has been ripped off the wall numerous times and is still in one piece! I'm looking to add 3 more cork boards since it's such a hit with my babies . The Floor: I added fake grass boards on the floor as well as a basket filled with sensory toys (liquid timers, glitter bottles and busy bags) my kids absolutely love it! All of it! After 5+ years of living here, I finally hung stuff up on the walls. Most of it is by me or mom but a few are from local artists (the horse is just a print I liked in a tack shop in Lancaster). Also, it none of it really matches anything but I like it no matter.
