Hey Knight I just saw the villain champion chart thing and I was just wondering why you decided to put the champions where they are

Like I understand Diantha, Geeta, and Lance cause they do be evil. But why the rest? Cynthia’s place really confuses me lol

Man idk bc I made that around eleven in the pm and my minds always out of it past nine jcmdnd hahaha

But like I did have concepts for it back then so hey hahah

So villain au Leon, he believes what he's doing is right, he thinks that hey since he's really the "no1 Champion" he should be the one protecting the weak from any threat, but ofc, it got to the point he'd really kill em and such bc why let a threat just walk around his region right? Also y'know, that thing w Rose threatening Hop and Leon finding out abt it, sponsor be damned he actually up and killed Rose bc why would anyone even try to think of hurting the Champion's brother? People didn't really question him bc ofc, why tf would they even go against the strongest fucking trainer of their region, and Leon was like really happy that people understand why he's doing it, unaware that they're actually terrified of him. A few did speak up abt it tho, and Leon did not take it well, he's going on how if they don't want him to make Galar peaceful, then they are a threat to Galar

Wallace idk bc my initial plan was for him between thinking he's doing right and doing it for the lols I'm sorry my mind really was so out of it last night I did so many questionable shit w my drafts here on Tumblr too😭 but like cndmnd y'know, he and Steven for this one, two Wingull w one Stone hahaha and like, maybe they would think the same way like Leon, just trying to protect the weak. But I also wanna say that Wallace also likes the thrill of being a villain maybe, bc again, my initial thought was for him between doing what's right and for the lols, and maybe he got that power to his head, especially since he does know how to make Kyogre bow down to him

I did,, mention that Steven would kill for Wallace and Lisia, and maybe he really went on w that, and hey he thinks he's doing right bc he's just protecting the ones he loves right?

Hau genuinely believes he's doing right bc ofc in this au the champions are all so out of it na rin, so they manipulated him to make him believe in them more, and they'd just tell him that what they're doing is actually right, even tho they're killing people

Iris is in between Dia/Lance and Cynthia bc I do think that the champions' manipulation runs that deep in her that she became downright fucking cruel. But like, y'know, she's enjoying it too, people looked down on her for most of her life, and now she's having fun making them kneel before her and finally realizing how strong of a champion she really is

Cynthia idk bc whenever I imagine Cynthia as a villain I always see her as someone who'd really be evil for lols, and doing evil stuff to get what she wants, like you catching my drift here? Hahah like I imagine her really just acting all friendly w trainers, but if smth did happen to them and they don't know she's there, she'd just watch and see if they'd be okay, she's curious if they're strong enough. And when she found out abt Cyrus' plan abt recreating the world, her curiosity piqued, and she just watched it all unfold. Altho w this one tho, I do wanna say that she did,, help?? Him?? Catch Mesprit, Uxie, and Azelf to create the Red Chain, and she told them that she really didn't care abt what's the whole deal on recreating the world, she just wanted to see all these legendary pkmn, and she did. Saw Cyrus die before her bc of Giratina, saw Gira and went on how powerful he was, and y'know told him that she's also a powerful trainer, and maybe if they work together they'd become more powerful than Arceus. And yeah, idk, even w the actual pkmn version of Satan she's not at Satan incarnate bc I wanna say she really isn't like Diantha who manipulates anyone or Lance who just kills anyone, rather she just doesn't care much abt anyone else and just likes the feeling of being godlike, especially now she and Giratina share a body, and she got Giratina's own power now too

Some friends and I in a Discord server got onto the topic of Pokémon soundtracks and we wondered what would happen if Pokémon had more distinct names for its battle themes.

For example, Final Fantasy has the likes of One Winged Angel, Battle on the Big Bridge or Blinded By Light.

Xenoblade has You Will Know Our Names, or The Acting God.

Fire Emblem has Blue Skies and a Battlefield, Twilight of the Gods or Apex of the World.

But in Pokémon, you’re lucky to get anything more distinct than Battle! (Gym Leader). So, here are some alternate titles I came up with for the various Champion themes. Spoilers obviously.

RBY: Clash of the Forest and Flames (Reference to the original Japanese titles of Red and Green. Also conveys clashing elements/polar opposites. Especially fitting if the player starts with Bulbasaur.)

GSC: Indigo's Pinnacle (Lance and Red are the two champions of the Indigo League. Can also be a nod to Red being at the 'pinnacle' of Mt. Silver).

RSE: The Jewel of Hoenn (Ties into Steven’s love of stones and fossils, while also being the ‘jewel’ in a more metaphorical sense as a Champion. Doesn’t quite work for Wallace outside of imagery of elegance, but honestly, I struggled to give this theme a name that reflected both of them).

DPP: She Who Walks Among Legends (Homage to Cynthia's interest in mythology. And, come on. You gotta go with something pretty grandiose for Cynthia.)

BW: The Master's Final Spar (Alder takes on more of a mentor role in both games, which gives this battle a different atmosphere compared to other Champion fights, and the name reflects that. There’s a gentle familiarity to this Champion battle. 'Spar' is how Alder himself describes the fight before the battle starts).

BW2: The Region's Rising Star (Iris is a plucky young upstart, and the whole battle ground has a star/space aesthetic, but it also can be a double meaning for the player as having become a 'rising star' over their own journey).

XY: Graceful Finale (Diantha is an actress, so a stage/film theme which retains the games' focus on beauty works).

SM: Dawn of the Champion (‘Dawn’ is a nod to daylight/sun and moon, keeping on theme with the game’s title but also references the crowning of the region's first champion)

USUM: Choosing of Champions (similar name scheme to SM, except now it's a competition between equals for the position. It’s not Kukui testing you before you become Champion. Rather, it’s you and Hau competing one last time to see who gets the title.).

SWSH: Blaze of Glory (...is Charizard. I dunno, I feel this one is self explanatory).

And a few bonus ones for some of the non Champion final bosses:

N: Beyond Veritas and Spes (The words here literally mean 'truth' and 'hope' in Latin. N’s theme should naturally have a name that homages the ‘truth and ideals’ conflict. There's not really a direct translation for 'ideals' in that sense as far as I know, so I went with 'hope').

Ghetsis: The Monster Of Two Faces (Ghetsis' entire design is built around a duplicitous two face theme).

Volo: To Be As Gods (Biblical reference that fits Volo's goal of reaching Arceus. No I wasn’t intending it to resemble the name of a track from NieR Automata. Call it a happy accident).

Here's the thing.

I personally want a female jerk rival. Like really badly. Like I was expecting Marnie to be that when I first saw her, and while I'm VERY glad that wasn't the case, it would have been something new, y'know?

Now I don't want her to be just mean and abrasive and such, cause I feel that would just make her bland and annoying. But rather I want her to have a good, well -written/ decent arc. Why? Well the obvious answer is to make the story more interesting. The other is to add another girl to the very list of well-written story relevant pokemon girls/ women.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore women like Cynthia, Iris, Elisa, Lillie , Bianca,Marnie etc, and I won't deny that some of them have good story relevance. But compared to say people Hop, Bede, Blue, Wally, Kukui, Silver, and quite literally the majority, if not all of the male champions, female characters tend to lack the action to do that. Of course, you don't need every female character to be an action girl in the plot, in fact I would encourage it! Not every women is Ms. Action, like how not every women is a Damsel in Distress. The problem with pokemon is that these women arey well written.

For example, everyone's favorite champion, Cynthia. You love her, I love her, and arguably the hardest champion in the series( though it really depends on who you ask). Cynthia is a good battler. In the anime she's AMAZING. In the games? Useless. I kid you not. She's only there for small route things, and some plot, but even in that plot she does nothing. You could argue that she knew the player had the potential, but that doesn't excuse the fact that she let a minor face a leader of and evil organization that plans to devoid the world of spirit, when she could have easily handled it herself! Like, it would have been better if they showcased her strength early on in the game, maybe in Eterna City helping storm Galactic Eterna Building. You doesn't even need her to have her battle multiple times( ok well maybe two more times for believability, but enough so the player can prove themselves), just that act of completely destroying Team Galactic would show her as a threat. And BECAUSE she's a threat, Team Galactic might do something that will prevent her from inferring, maybe setting a trap for her? That way it would make logical sense for the player to have to face the big bad near the end. Would it still traumatize the player? Yes. Would it make Cynthia less useless in the main plot, and still have her a badass? Absolutely! But that didn't happen( except maybe the badass part).

So why a female jerk rival? Again, we don't have one in the series as of yet. But another reason is that it would provide better plot relevance/ writing ( honestly I don't even know if that's the wording I would use but it's late so we're gonna deal with it) for said character. Jerk rivals generally have good albeit cliche arc in the pokemon series. They're jerks, and they're mean to you, but at some point they learn to ( begrudgingly) respect you. Pretty simple. But they way they get through that tend to vary, but ( in my opinion) they're generally written really well in the franchise. So like. That the formula that your already good at and apply it to a girl. It's. It's not that hard. At least I think so.

Final notes:

Even if you don't make a female jerk rival you could at least to make a well written one

I know someone is gonna say Lillie is a well written character, and she is too me, but they butchered her biggest character moment( calling out her mom) in USUM.

And compared to N who is semi- similar to her in terms of character( not completely, but in terms of direction, I can see the similarities) N battled. He fought. Even when he constantly said he was against it. Why can't Lillie do that? They're people around her, Kukui , Hau the player, could have taught her something, or helped her catch a pokemon to protect herself.

Again I don't believe Lillie had to become a trainer to be a great character, but the progression of the story was kinda alluding to it and it just didn't.

Yes I know that Lillie battles in USUM in the post game but that's the post game. I'm talking main story here.

Sorry for bashing you Cynthia I love you but the games did you dirty narratively.

Female pokemon trainer deserve better

And please, for the life of me, please give our supposed girl jerk rival appropriate clothing. I won't lie that some female pokemon characters have sworn some..... questionable attire. Some makes sense and fit they're character ( Nessa to an extent, Elisa, Lillie, Sonia) but others... aren't ( Clair who's gym is filled with lava, Skyla a cargo pilot wearing THAT, Marnie, and almost all the female protagonist....who are minors) I get that self- expression is something that should be cherished, and you can wear that what you want to wear, but sometimes you gotta add some logic.

TDLR: I want a girl jerk rival whose well- written, I bashed on Cynthia ( I'm sorry, I love her I do) and vent about how female characters in pokemon are generally treated.

definitive and 100% correct ranking of all champion themes

i love pokemon music and i love to rank things, so here’s how i’d rank all the champion themes. if you value my opinions on pokemon music and want to know how i feel about the gym leader themes you can see here. like that list, if a champion theme exists in multiple games i’m gonna pick my favorite version of it

10. alder’s theme: unlike my gym leader themes ranking, there’s not a champion theme i actually dislike. and while i don’t think it’s as good as all of the other themes on this list, it still does kinda slap, but i think it’s the most boring. also why does it kinda sound like the cyrus battle theme?

9. steven’s theme (oras): kinda like alder’s in that i like it, but it’s still kinda boring compared to the other champ themes ahead of it. the louder you play this one the better it is. also probably influenced by the fact that i missed a lot of the hoenn nostalgia since my first pokemon game was diamond and i didn’t play a hoenn game until oras

8. diantha’s theme: i would definitely categorize x/y’s gym theme as the most mellow of all of the gym themes. while i wouldn’t call this song on its own mellow, it’s definitely the most mellow of the champion themes. but unlike the gym theme, this one is one i like listening to and fitting as a champion theme

7. hau’s (champion) theme: one of the changes from sun/moon to ultra sun/ultra moon that i really liked was the first champion battle being against hau rather than kukui. i love hau as a rival and i feel like his champion theme is a good upgrade from his regular rival battle music

6. blue’s theme (b2w2): a pretty iconic piece of pokemon music! again calling back to my gym theme opinions, i love intensity and minor key, and i love the b2w2 versions of the themes

5. iris’s theme: ok this is honestly where it started getting hard because i absolutely LOVE the themes that landed in my top 5. i love iris as a champion (what’s not to love about a little girl with dragons?) and i feel like this theme is a lot of fun and fits her really well

4. kukui’s (champion) theme: the intro to this theme (which is the same as the intro to hau’s theme) is one of my favorites it’s so good!! i love how BIG this song feels it’s honestly such a delight. and i love that part of this theme is used in the game’s intro i think it’s a fun callback

3. lance/red’s theme (hgss): honestly 5-2 were really hard to order in general, but i think the hardest was deciding whether i liked this one more than the s/m champion theme. they’re both great songs and both have the intensity i love but i think the minor key gave this one a slight edge

2. leon’s theme: every time i hear this i want to cheer along with the crowd, i seriously can’t get over how well the crowd cheering works with this theme (and the gym leader theme). it’s just so FUN and idk how to explain it but it definitely carries the vibes of battling this completely undefeated dude who’s also your best friend’s cool older brother

1. CYNTHIA’S THEME (dppt): sinnoh is my favorite pokemon region, cynthia is my favorite champion, and i’m a lesbian, so this one absolutely had to be number one. also i can’t include this song without including the music that plays before the battle because holy shit. and as much as i love the black/white versions of this song, nothing beats the original in my mind. also as i’ve thoroughly documented, i love the intensity and the minor key. i don’t know how to express just how much i love this song but it’s SO GOOD. also shoutout to cynthia for being the first female champion she’s iconic

you always talk about the champions but what about the next champions? would any of the main trainers beat their regions champions and take their title?

Ghmh yeah I have been thinking abt that for a while now, mainly bc it'd be funny if in a lil timeskip, Iris becomes the lil pseudo leader of the next gen champs and she's there vibing bc she's kinda like Lance hahaha even better she also wears a cape lmao

Anyways that'd be fun tho, but idk which one of the current champs to actually lose and give up the champion title. Then again, Geeta would still be top champ, but then there's Nemona and Florian y'know

With Indigo's league, it would be cool if Silver is actually the next Champion rather than Gold. Idk cause like, in my hcs Gold didn't really care much abt the league, he's just cool venturing around and helping his grandparents at the daycare; Silver on the other hand was determined to become Champion, I wanna say he would be able to beat Lance and be Indigo's new champ

Hoenn's league, May honestly just wanted that title to spite her father lol. Like, homegirl was already a battling prodigy, beat the Frontier Brains, and has Rayquaza with her, what more another title right. Idk if I do want Hoenn to still have two Champions, cause in my hcs Unova and Paldea already has two (technically three for Paldea but again, Geeta's in a diff rank)

Sinnoh's league, it's Dawn ofc. As much as Cynthia doesn't want her to be the next champ, Dawn was a strong trainer. She also wanted that Champion title since the start, and hey she really worked hard to get it y'know. Cynthia is there to guide her tho, homegirl doesn't want Dawn to go through the same shit as her

Unova's league, well, still Iris and Hilbert are the champs hahah but like, outside Unova, Iris is more well known as she's been Champion the longest and the fact between the two of them she's the one who attends meetings and gatherings, Hilbert only ever attends when Iris calls in sick or she really couldn't atm

Kalos' league, Calem becomes the next champ. I do have a lil concept abt this, like,, Calem is a lonely kid man, ik I compared him to May in my hcs, and the main difference abt them is that May forged genuine connections with her friends, whereas Calem tried but he just couldn't connect with the Kalos kids on a deeper level. Which, yeah, made him lonely, thinking that if he becomes Champion, it'd make him forget abt that loneliness. It didn't. Diantha is trying to help him through t ofc, she knows the feeling of loneliness all too well

Alola's league, it's still Hau hahah c'mon I think the kid deserves it, he's like, strong af too. Idk, I want him to have some sort of reputation hahah like, new challengers would always encounter him at random points, and he's like, very chill y'know, he's just vibing, encouraging new trainers to do their best, but during Champion battles, it feels like he becomes a different person that it actually scared the trainers hahaha

Galar's league, it's Gloria. Felt absolutely bad she beat Hop, low-key felt proud of herself beating Leon, either way, she doesn't know what to feel sometimes now that she's Champion. And hey not like it was during Leon's time, Rose isn't around anymore, and Leon made a few changes at how the League runs with young Champions before she beat him, so hey y'know. Honestly a bit intimidated w her new title, but tries not to show it

Paldea's league, Nemona and Florian ofc hahah. I mean, Geeta's still around ofc, but hey. Anyways yeah, these two are Paldea's champs and Nemona is the overly competitive one that she challenged Silver once like really pissed him off bc she wouldn't stop bugging him hahah (it ended up tied) and then there's Florian who's just trying to keep Nemona in check too, but also enables her in pissing off Silver bc he thinks it's entertaining

It would be fun tho to make concepts abt them, but hey yeah, feel free to send asks abt them if you guys want hahah

Like,, Cyn being so so loyal to Diantha as well, and is one of the few Coven Heads who really try to encourage people to join the Empress' Coven, and ofc low-key a suck up as she tries to go above and beyond compared to the other Coven Heads, as Diantha would give her praises for her good work

And since I just made a concept abt Hau being undercover to get back Drasna's journal, imagine if Diantha also trusted Cynthia enough to watch over him to make sure that he won't deviate from his mission. Cyn was more than happy to accept ofc, anything for the empress

Tho, Cynthia was also rather impulsive, when she saw Iris all alone, she couldn't help but go to her and see what's all the fuss abt this human. It didn't take long for Iris to find out that Cynthia was part of the Empress' Coven, the head of Potions as well, as there's a clear sigil on her wrist. Iris backed away from her, even asking her what she wanted, but Cyn just smiled, going on how the empress might be impressed w her if she just brings Iris to her

Ofc, Iris put up a fight, even going on as to why Cynthia still follows Diantha. And Cyn tells her that Dia is the one who'll save them all, she just wanted to make sure that everyone in the demon realm is safe

"do you really not see that she's using you?"

"Diantha had warned me about you humans. You're trying to make me go against her, aren't you? Well.. so sorry to disappoint but," she grabs a potion from her belt, "I know better than to fall for your lies."

And insert another cool fight scene bc yeah ofc, then during the fight, Iris was still going on abt Diantha, how Cynthia didn't even wonder why Dia had to limit the others' magic, why she's the only one who can use any type of magic, "don't you think that's unfair for all of you?" But Cynthia, ever the loyal devotee, paid no heed, going on how Diantha said it would be for everyone's best interest, how it would help the people be more united, and it'd lessen the casualties as Diantha had said that those who are careless would hurt not only themselves but others as well. That's what Diantha had told everyone in the Boiling Isles, only those who are strong can wield different types of magic, and Diantha is the only one strong enough to do so.

But ough cbxnxb imagine if Drayden finally finds them tho, and was there ready to fight Cynthia, but Cyn knew she shouldn't really draw much attention to herself, she'd rather not disappoint the empress. So she left, leaving no trace behind.

Imagine tho when she got to the castle, as she was about to head to her chambers, Diantha was there in the hallway leading to her room. Cynthia bowed before her, but she could feel vines wrap around her legs, forcing her to kneel. She looked up at Diantha, her features were calm and serene, but there's that burning hatred in her cold blue eyes that made Cynthia shiver.

"where have you been?"

"at.. at Bonesborough, your highness."

"I don't remember telling you to go there."

"ah, I was looking after Hau—"

"I didn't assign Hau there today either."

Fear settled within Cynthia as Dia's eyes glowed brighter, as Cynthia was abt to explain, a flash of light went past the right side of her face, shutting her up. Diantha chuckled, crouching down to Cynthia's level, a hand on her face, gently running a thumb over Cynthia's cheekbone. "Cynthia..." She breathed out, and god Cynthia leaned in on her touch. But Dia's touch became rough, her thumb almost pressing on Cyn's lower eyelid, "don't make me hurt you again." She feigned concern, and just chdmdn Cynthia feeling phantom pains on her left side, the jagged scar on her face almost felt like it was burning, remembering the time she failed a mission and her left eye paid the price. She promised herself never again will she disappoint Diantha.

"of course, my queen.." Cynthia managed to say, "it won't happen again."

Diantha stood up straight again, smiling at her, "I'll be counting on that." And she left, the vines on Cynthia's legs finally freed her from their grasps.

In regards to your latest ask, the one about a potential Villain Champions AU

You are so true King, Geeta is the worlds biggest Diantha simp, both platonically and romantically. Someone looks at Diantha wrong and she’s already there with her Kingambit. She’s had blood on her hands since she was young, all for her queen

Also, you know I’m a Iris and Hau enthusiast just as much as you are a Diantha and Geeta enthusiast, so of course my first thought was about my two beloved champions

Just thinking about Iris when she became champion and she meets the rest. They’re all being friendly to her and getting to know her over the next few months. Becoming the family she was missing in her life

Then one day she mentions that one of the higher ups of the Unova League thinks that she shouldn’t hold the title of champion, that she’s to inexperienced for it and the only reason she got it was because Alder retired and she used Draydens influence as gym leader to get it. Doesn’t matter that she’s a child prodigy, she couldn’t have won against Alder. Man were the others mad, they didn’t show it of course but the next day when Iris woke up she saw his picture on the news saying he was found dead in his office. Now with the league closed for investigation she gets to spend more time with the others :). I like to thing she starts picking up their “villain habits” the more she visits them. Like knowing how to lie, being sneaky, how to intimidate others, using blackmail, how to use Pokémon to get rid of bodies (courtesy of Geeta, Diantha and Lance, she thought they were joking), etc…

Now a couple years later Hau joins them. And just like with Iris people looked down on him for being young and “inexperienced” and exclude the fact that he’s also a child prodigy. He’s obviously bummed out about hearing people talk negatively about him and when the others ask what’s wrong he tells them. None of them were more pissed than Iris because how dare these random people talk shit about her friend, her younger brother, a champion, The Champion of Alola. They don’t have any right to talk down about their superior, the strongest trainer in their region. Who could easily wipe the floor with them if he pleased. But she knows Hau is to nice to do anything about it and he’s asked his friends not to interfere so she steps in for him

Imagine how pleased the older champions will be when they hear the news of a “wild” haxorus attacking a group of people in Alola and she offhandedly mentions that they won’t be bothering Hau anymore

Would Hau even find out abt it, or maybe like Iris he also slowly but surely become more and more like the champions too, looking down on people and finally seeing how strong he truly is

Like imagine tho Leon giving Iris that validation tho bc he also became champion when he was young, like the youngest to be champion compared to all of em, and he tells them just how great it was, how people older than him was scared of him, how they all regarded him as the most powerful trainer in their region, and Iris just took every word he said, bc if Leon said that then it's true, they she really does have the right to look down on people

And like cjdmdn getting to the point where Iris told Hau abt it too, how Leon and Cynthia and even Diantha told her that she's a Champion, they're both Champions, and they're the strongest trainers in their region, in the world, so why would Hau ever be scared of confronting those who aren't even worthy to share his space

God y'know w this imagine tho if at one point Hau kept thinking abt it, and hey maybe he's alone that day and suddenly someone went to him and said how he really shouldn't be champion, bc even Hala, his own grandfather, was surprised he managed to beat Kukui, and imagine that'd be enough to make him snap tho, he got mad and told that guy off but the mf just went on going "aw, what're you gon do? Tell your mom? Oh wait! She doesn't even like you too!"

"I don't care! I have the other Champions and they like me!"

"hah! The Champions? You think the champs would actually like you? Get real, that's embarrassing, Hau."

And imagine him getting so pissed he called out Decidueye, his Z Crystal glowing in the darkness, and he commands Deci to use Sinister Arrow Raid, killing the guy. And just fjmddb imagine his panic tho once he realizes what he and Decidueye did, that he ended up running away from the scene before anyone could find him and he hid in his house. Hau calling Iris and telling her of what happened tho, and to his surprise Iris was so proud of him that he finally sees what being a Champion is like, getting rid of those who doubt them, those who aren't worthy to live in their world

Ayo what’d you mean by the champions (and others) look down on Iris and Hau 🤨. At least Diantha was there for them :). Even if her whole reasoning was to tap into their potential and turn them into stronger champions who’d listen to her orders. But hey, they receive a mother figure and Diantha receives two more followers

Do they still look down on them? Cause yeah, like you said they’re both older and more mature now but they are still young compared to the rest of the champions

Cause like, yeah they were young when they became champions, but Leon was younger than they were when he became champion, and for him he has that edge. He sees them like Hop, really. That maybe they were just lucky to get their Champion spot, bc hey Unova's former champion (Hilbert) just suddenly left, and Alola's standing champion (Kukui) wasn't even an actual champion. So for Leon, he thinks they don't even deserve to have their titles bc he thinks he didn't fight for them, rather they were just handed those titles. But the two did fight for their title. Iris did battle Hilbert for that title, and Kukui wasn't weak. Leon was just projecting.

Lance actually,, kinda looks down on them. Just a bit hahaha. They're still kids in his eyes, and while they are champions they're also pretty young compared to the rest of them. But maybe that's him thinking that since he himself didn't train them, maybe they still need help and guidance

Steven doesn't but he also thinks that since they're still kinda young, they shouldn't even be in this mess of a feud between Diantha and Leon. He thinks they deserve to have a great time as champions especially since they're young, but unfortunately they're already caught between the crossfire

Cynthia doesn't, but again, like Steven, she also doesn't want them to get hurt, especially since before all this mess she was their enabler, and now after everything she just wants to protect them and take every hit for em. But she knows they're not weak, rather she's just scared to see them get hurt as well

Geeta had experience w Penny, so no she does not look down on them even if they're younger than the rest. Rather she's honestly impressed they were champions at that age, it reminds her of Florian and Nemona hahah

Diantha genuinely tho, she really doesn't look down on them. Rather she looks down on people that can't beat them or also looks down on them. Your honour those are her kids, and despite it all, she does care abt them, and she loves them so much, and she does feel some sort of guilt leaving them, but ig bc of the fact she sees them as her kids now, they have to really meet her own standards that she had set for them, but hey, that's fine uvu as long as they just obey Diantha, well hey, they're already perfect in her eyes, standards be damned

Augustine with Xerneas?? Wonder how that’ll affect the story

Man, the slightly insane older sister with the Pokémon of Death, and the trauma filled younger brother with the Pokémon of Life

Augustine is definitely the closest person that could get Diantha to stop her pursuit of perfecting the world. Her whole goal is to purifying the world and become their ruler, their queen. She’ll have everyone listen to her word and they’ll follow because she knows what best for everyone, for herself, for her brother.

And if a “defect” doesn’t agree with her ideals, if they think she’s “crazy” or “going to far” then well…her Pokemon always work so hard, it’s only fair that they get an extra treat once in a while

But…what if Augustine was also one of the “defects”. What if his sister showed him the world she was building for them, for him, and he calls her crazy. He calls her every name in the book, tells her she’s taking this way to far and that she has to stop

She tries to justify her actions by saying that everyone she kills is a danger to the rest, that they are just like their father, a monster who likes to hurt the innocent. And it’s her job to stop anyone else from becoming just like him

…Only to be cut off when Augustine tells her that she became just like their father

And with a shaky hand, he releases Xerneas who locks eyes with its opponent, challenging Yveltal, and challenging Diantha

Like she really did so much and put in so much effort to not be like them, she became the parent that Augustine needed when he was young, she didn't drink, she didn't hit him, she didn't shout at him, didn't think he was anything less than perfect despite his flaws, bc he's her beloved younger brother, her perfect brother that she so desperately protected from the world, and now he's there face to face w her, Xerneas at his side, telling her how much of a monster she turned out to be

God that would honestly break her, like legitimately that'd be her final straw hahaha

Cause she can handle the other champions being mad at her, can handle Iris, and Hau, and Cynthia, even the masses. But her brother? Why? Why would he betray her like that? Had she not given everything to him? She sacrificed everything she ever had for him. She sacrificed her own childhood and her own happiness for him. She sacrificed her time and effort for him. She sacrificed herself for him.

And this is what she gets in return?

"Augustine, step aside."

She could feel the rage bubbling just beneath her skin. "Augustine. This my final warning. Step aside."

And Diantha just growls at that, commands Yveltal to use Oblivion Wing, and Augustine was ready to tell Xerneas to cast Moonblast,, only for the attack to completely miss him, targeting the champions behind him

Augustine tries to help them, but Gardevoir got a hold of him w Psychic, Yveltal and Xerneas was already fighting each other, Xerneas trying to defend the other champions

Dia finally has Augustine w her, and made sure that Gardevoir has a tight grip on him, she doesn't want him in the middle of the crossfire ofc, but as punishment, she'd let him watch just how the others will get hurt, how they'll die if they fight even more, how Xerneas too will perish, and she'll make sure he knows it's all his fault.

And hey, she's just teaching him a lesson, yknow. She's showing him just what kind of fate awaits him if he still wouldn't listen to her.
