So: further bad news, gang

Laptop I bought shit a brick and would no longer boot (had several blue screens even during before and after attempting to factory reset it and multiple windows recovery errors) so no more writing for a bit.

Instead of buying a new laptop, I'm going to take my original borked desktop to Best Buy to see if Geeksquad can't fix her because god almighty if I trust another local shop and they forget her again, I will actually commit murder.

I don't know how much it will be but I fully anticipate having to get another new motherboard or a brand new psu since it won't boot up at all since the local shop incident— so any amount helps.

I am here to give the Computer Saga Update! I cometh with bountiful news of both the blessed and regrettable variety.

Principly, the heir hath thus arrived! The slayer of the hiatus hath cometh at last!

Regrettably, it has cometh to my home address instead of my scholarly academic one, and I cannot afford postage at the moment. So, instead of tying it to an African Swallow and daring it to make the journey here (because of course such modern contraptions must be the equivalent of a coconut in weight) I must languish in waiting for my next venture homeward; the Easter Pilgrimage.

So, I’ll be back up and running in two weeks. Thank you all for your patience (I have stared day-dreaming about using a keyboard so I am also suffering) and the end is within sight.

Until then, I will be crying over the unboxing video sent by my siblings, whether it was a taunt or a comfort remains unknown, but my precious is alive and functional!

Okay!! Best Buy is my new best friend honestly.

Total came out to a little less than 200$ for a diagnostic and to replace any parts that need it, as a yearly membership (which idk if I'll keep long term but we'll see!) and I am SO RELIEVED.

Sylvie (my computer) is in good hands. The lady I was talking to signed me up for texts regarding the process and how that was going on and let me vent about all the fucking problems I've had with my baby (and I showed her my art and we bonded over her college work having her do similar things 🥰) and I just feel so much lighter.

Alas, the computer has kneeled… into its grave. The hardware has gone up in smoke, died in a quiet inferno. It had been upon its death bed for days, and now, that beloved digital screen as at long last fizzled out and refused to re-light my eyes upon its marvelous glow. You served me well, and shall be missed. Rest in pieces faithful, if cranky upon your last dregs, companion. Rest well.

The fabled magician of warrantee is likewise also dead, and so, with the mourning wails of my wallet, a new heir has been found and shall arrive within the week. Updates shall come with its coronation.
