I made a Moomin cake :>

I am so proud of it :]

#it was for my birthday but I��d didn’t have all the ingredients for it so it’s about a week late #it turned out so good!#it’s a butter cake btw so it was delicious #the cone is SOPPING wet btw #didn’t have any alcohol so I had to mix the dye with water which eventually meant we had to blow dry it to keep it together #the shells are fruity pebbles btw #the popsicle stick constructions were so hard but fun #the rocks are confectionery marshmallows #I’m so proud I got the icing to match the sprinkle color #moomins #Moomin #moominmama #moominpapa #Snorkmaiden #TotsN’uggs

me at the lake today looking for water bugs/critters because thats what i enjoy doing most and only after i got home did i realize ... omg.... thats so g.uzmacore..... HFDSJKL

#he lives on a tropical island w so many beaches and he loves bugs. that mfer would love looking for water critters with me !!!!!!#i saw a really weird one though i've literally never seen anything like it #idk how to even begin IDing it fdsjkl #it was like. tube shaped. and mottled? and was crawling along a stick with one end of the tube body #and at the other end it was somehow gripping a little plant stalk or smth #unless the plant stalk was actually part of its body. IT WAS SO WILD.#and it was like. only a centimetre long/tall. maybe 2 cms #SO FUNKY. i was fascinated fdsjkl i wish i'd been able to watch it longer #also i found some cool snail shells and a spiral cone shaped shell!! i didnt know we had spiral cones around here!!#i left all of them there ofc bc theyre good for calcium for wildlife+environment and for some critters to make homes inside of :3 #dandy.cmd

Suddenly very fascinated by making the origins team into fruit.

#I don’t know all of the origins members intensely well right now because I haven’t done any replays so sorry if some of these decisions dont #make perfect sense?#would make calla a peach because ass joke. but she’s clearly a black berry #they’re sweet (but not ostentatiously)#very enjoyable in large portions and pretty #calla has a silver tongue but also a very noticeable edge. much like a blackberry #if any fruit were to posses the level of cockiness inherent to calla then it’s a blackberry #I think I’ve settled on kiwi for Morrigan #because she doesn’t have an intensely hard shell like a pomegranate. but she’s also not all open until the center like a mango #and personally the center of a kiwi is the best part #that white section is just top tier #but you still have to get through the skin and other fruit flesh to reach it #though I will say Morrigan’s visuals feels very ripe (haha) for mangos #Alistair is an orange because I like oranges #and I honestly (despite him being my top guy) can’t assign a fruit to him that easily #it’s the same with trying to make a playlist for him #its just way harder than I thought it’d be #also I feel like he would definetly accidentally spit in your face. which is a very very orange thing to do #wynne is an apple. she feels like a nice crisp apple.#also I very often think of her lines about cleanliness.#and you don’t tend to wash blackberries or oranges or kiwis. but you do tend to wash apples #my ideas for everyone else are very flimsy atm #BUT I do think it’d be funny to change sten’s ‘I don’t understand. you look like a woman’#line to be ‘I don’t understand. you look like youre molding’ vis a vis calla’s white-blonde hair #Sten does feel like a blueberry to me #Basil would be a juniper ‘berry’ purely to draw the line between people fruit and a dog who is sorta a berry but isn’t actually #(juniper berries are actually cones! junipers are gymnosperms!)

Anyway, do not let this distract you from the fact that gastropods that can make pearls!!!! That's so cool!!!!!

Did you know that many gastropods can create a pearl, including terrestrial snails? The difference is nacre which is only found in some species of mollusks and which which gives pearls their beautiful shine. Terrestrial snails occasionally produce very small translucent white pearls which are usually lost. One non-nacre secreting sea snail, the melo melo, produces gorgeous pearls that are extremely prized and rare.

#ive seen people confuse conches and cone snails before. there was a video of a woman handling a conch and people were like “aaaah!!!!!”#its good to be careful though! in my opinion its best to leave shells alone even if there was no danger of death by cone snail harpoon #you never know what could be dangerous in the ocean. also shells are important for the environment so leave em be if you can :)#anyway. do not let this distract you from conch pearls!!!!!!!!! so pretty!!!!!!!#aquatic
