Taxes & Benefits Mod + New Active Career - DOWNLOAD
One of my sims was earning a little too much money and somehow this spiralled into me developing this mod. Introducing a very configurable tax and benefit system alongside an all new active career!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The tax and benefit system is modelled after the system we have here in England. All tax and benefit options are configurable and sims will only be opted in if you want them to. See the included documentation for a proper feature breakdown.
There are three types of taxes:
Council Tax (a property tax)
Business Tax
National Insurance (an income tax)
Register sims for each type of tax through the city hall.
Tumblr media
There are four types of benefits:
Universal Credit
Housing Benefit
Child Benefit
Job Seekers Allowance
Register sims online, through social interactions with the all new Civil Servant, or at a HSRC communications booth.
Civil Service Career
Work for the HSRC in this fully functional active career.
Tumblr media
There are 36 jobs which can be completed: 27 are custom career opportunities (like in the private eye career), 9 of them are custom active jobs (like in the interior decorator or firefighter career).
Jobs include: checking benefit eligibility for sims around town, attending job fairs, auditing, community outreach, responding to council house repair requests, and things of that nature.
Tumblr media
Communication Booth
Civil Servants are given communication booths which can be placed anywhere in the world. This object has 2 geostates and can be set up or packed down when not needed.
Tumblr media
Council Houses
Properties that are not owned by a sim are council houses. There are some unique interactions for these homes. For one, they can be more susceptible to pests (if enabled in the tuning, that is).
Complain to the Council
Depending on the type of property the sim lives in, they can complain to the council about housing issues such as overcrowding, broken facilities, or vermin.
Tumblr media
Social Interactions
There are 12 new social interactions found under Friendly, Funny and Mean.
Help Understand Welfare System – Civil Servant Only
Complain About Taxes
Accuse of Benefit Fraud
Suggest Part Time Job – Civil Servant Only
Joke About Fraud
Talk About Benefits
Talk About Career History
Hand Out HSRC Leaflet – Civil Servant Only
Warn About Fraudulent Behaviour – Civil Servant Only
Offer Council House Repairs – Civil Servant Only
Including 2 autonomous only interactions:
Talk About Shared Career History
Talk About Shared Benefit Claims
Some interactions are only visible after doing things such as paying taxes. Some interactions are specific to the Civil Service career.
Tumblr media

This isn’t how the game was supposed to go. You're not supposed to be here. You're an anomaly. But if you’re already here, then
can’t you just enjoy it for now? Just for a little while? Before the main story begins? Before everything inevitably falls into place? ...Right?

CH. 07 — DREAM
The shelter smells faintly of metal and disinfectant, the lights overhead flickering unsteadily. It's cramped, the thin walls barely holding out the noise of the chaos outside—the distant screams, the sharp cracks of gunfire, the low rumble of something massive moving through the city.
You sit near the back of the room, knees pulled to your chest. Eden is beside you, small and quiet, her head resting lightly against your shoulder. Caleb sits across from you, legs stretched out, a book open in his hands.
It’s been days since the Chronorift Catastrophe. Days since the world fell apart.
Outside the shelter’s narrow window, the sky is hazy with smoke. Occasionally, sleek black shapes cut through the gloom—fighter jets. The only organized response left, streaking through the sky like sharp lines of silver and black.
“Look!” Caleb’s hand shoots out, finger tracing the sky.
You follow his gaze, squinting into the glare of the sun as a sleek, gray aircraft cuts across the sky. Twin afterburners flare behind it, leaving a faint vapor trail in its wake.
“The F-22 Raptor,” Caleb breathes, eyes alight with rare excitement. “Fifth-generation stealth fighter. Twin-engine. Thrust-vectoring nozzles give it insane maneuverability. Those wings? Delta configuration for reduced radar signature.”
He grins, teeth flashing as he watches it arc into a sharp bank. “Mach 2 top speed, internal weapon bays for reduced drag. And the AESA radar? Practically untouchable in a dogfight.”
He’s glowing—animated in a way you rarely see, his hands moving as he explains. You can’t even pretend to understand half of what he’s saying, but you don’t stop him.
“Imagine flying that,” Caleb murmurs, voice soft with wonder. His gaze follows the jet until it disappears beyond the clouds. “You wouldn’t have to answer to anyone. Just you and the sky.”
Freedom. That’s what he means.
“You really know your stuff,” you say, glancing at him.
Caleb shrugs, but the edge of his mouth lifts in a self-satisfied tilt. “I read.”
He taps the battered book on his lap. A technical manual of some sort, the cover worn from overuse. You’ve seen him pouring over it for days now, flipping through diagrams and schematics. The people at the shelter didn’t have much to give, but someone handed Caleb a box of old books, and he’s been devouring them ever since.
“You want to fly?” you ask, and you already know the answer.
“Yeah,” he says, his voice soft with longing. “If I could
” He trails off, shaking his head.
You think of the facility. Of the cage you lived in. Of the walls that Caleb once tried to tear down with his bare hands. Flying—leaving it all behind—wouldn’t that be
 freedom?
Caleb sighs, stretching his arms behind his head. “Guess I’ll have to settle for the next best thing.”
“And what’s that?”
He smiles. “Learning how to fix them.”
He says it so casually, like it’s normal to talk about high-level military tech. Like it’s not strange for someone who was raised in a lab to know this.
“You’re seriously into this, huh?” you say.
Caleb’s gaze follows the fighter jets until they vanish behind the smoke. His expression softens, a rare crack in his guarded exterior.
“You want to be a pilot?”
“Maybe,” he says. Then, quieter: “I want to know what it feels like. To leave.”
You don’t know what to say to that. He’s never known freedom. None of you have.
“I’d become a Deepspace Hunter.”
Eden’s voice is soft but steady. You and Caleb both turn toward her. She’s sitting up now, her dark eyes bright despite the dim light.
“To protect myself,” she says. “From the Wanderers. So I don’t have to rely on anyone else.”
She’s so sure of it. Like she’s already decided.
Caleb hums, his mouth curving into a small smile. “Good plan.”
She tilts her head toward him, her expression earnest. “And you? Would you protect people too?”
Caleb’s smile fades. He looks back toward the window, his gaze distant.
“I don’t know,” he says. His voice drops lower. “I think I’d just want to go where no one could reach me.”
Silence settles between you. Eden leans her head back against your shoulder. Caleb’s eyes linger on the sky.
And you—
You don’t know what you want.
You were pulled from your world and dropped into this one without warning, without preparation. You’d adapted to the lab because there was no other choice. But now?
You stare down at your hands. They’re shaking.
“I don’t know,” you whisper.
Eden closes her eyes, breathing evenly. Caleb’s hand shifts, resting lightly beside yours on the floor. Close, but not touching.
It’s not much. But it’s something.

So from my understanding, most purposed organisms in Rain World initially started out as somewhat shapeless creatures confined to "metal boxes"/machinery.
Tumblr media
This probably means that most of the creatures we see out in the wild are the result of said boxes being damaged and the organisms contained within slithering out. This also probably means we can actually see a lot of the original "containers" for the fauna we encounter throughout FP/LTTM's facility grounds.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is the most obvious example of the bunch, but in reality this post is my extremely roundabout way of sharing that I think Dropwigs may have descended from these mechanical pincers I've noticed in the Precipice.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The way their claws are configured is really similar methinks, though those four metallic flaps on their sides make me think they could also be related to Squidcadas. Hell, it could be a common ancestor.

a Revelation i just had from talking with my roommate is that wind breaker is uniquely a story about cultivating, developing, and protecting your *local* community, i.e. in a small town. this may be a response to a cultural climate that is increasingly remote and globalized, where the people around you, especially in a big city, becomes more and more anonymous (the bread sellers, the flowershop owners, the neighbors living next to you, etc— that we see the characters interact with).
specifically, in the shounen sphere, while community, friendships, teamworks are strongly emphasized, they are typically a secondary theme. friendships and empathy are vital to one piece, but its primary motivation and focus are on freedom and adventures. haikyuu, too, and all sports mangas that i have seen, is hinges on teamwork and connection, but the dominant context/motivation is the passion for sports and dedication/conviction towards your dreams. actually, haikyuu quite uniquely insists on teamworks and connections in ways i didnt see (as convincingly, at least) in other sports mangas. nonetheless, the primary focus is not on developing a community that you live in. so on and so forth. here is the difference: while all shounen works necessarily emphasized friendships, interpersonal connections, co-existence and teamworks, most of the time the community is something that the goal necessitates rather than being the goal itself. it’s a tool, not an endgoal.
that is not to say, i emphasize, that these stories are not good. it’s just that the premise of wind breaker is unique in the current narrative climates in a way that is quite reactive, actually, to the cultural climate today.
because the people around us are getting increasingly anonymous. in a big city you are not expected to know who your neighbors are. you are not expected to have meaningful conversations with the flowershop owners, the baristas that make you drinks every tuesday, or, hell, anyone that “serves” you. especially as the cities get larger and you never quite see the same people with any reliable frequency (yet another way in which the current economy (ehem, capitalism) configured our communities and interpersonal connections). this is a problem humanity never have before, in such unprecedented scale— but alack, social changes happen all the time, and most of them are unprecedented.
thats why the premise of a dying town — one that is explicitly ignored by law enforcement, quite literally left behind — is also symbolic of the smaller, more concentrated, and more personal social structure we are abandoning. the smallness is why bofurin knows everyone in town. the constancy is why bofurin and makochi care for one another. the premise basically necessitates the story to occur in this small, abandoned, relic of a town. and bofurin and the friends they made in other teams (that is, other local communities) is what revive these spaces that are on the decline. also, this intentionality of care from the youth (umemiya!!!) is what rescues the town from complete abandon to the cozy, lively place it is. literally, it started with one person, one smaller community— that spreads to the whole town. the smallness and mundanity is the point— things that our socio-economic focus on rapid “growth” and “development” is glossing over, the way makochi was.
do i have a solution for what i am portraying as a societal decay? no. do i expect every place in the world become makochi? would be nice, but probably not. but the narratives do invites and encourages me to notice more of the people i see day to day. maybe this will gets a lot harder once i move out of my undergrad dorms and no longer sees the same baristas, cafeteria workers, custodians, facilities workers that i know by name. but i sure hope i will know the names of the people i live with, in a community, in a new city.
anyway, wind breaker is very refreshing and yet another example of how culture and arts response to and interact with each other 😌 i can only hope that, regardless of whether people read so deeply into this or not, the narratives encourages them to be kinder and more noticing of their community. maybe nurture it too, like ume does and is inspiring everyone in bofurin to be :)

So... This Is awkward but we need to talk about plagiarism.
*taps microphone nervously* Hi everyone. It's your sleep-deprived disaster Kiki here. This isn't my usual chaotic author note where I scream about Jeon being emotionally constipated. Today we're talking about something more serious: plagiarism in our fanfiction community.
I've spent the last few days in a bizarre twilight zone where I had to defend MY OWN WORK from being copied. Wild, right? Not how I planned to spend my week when I could've been writing smut instead. (ノàȠ益àČ )ăƒŽćœĄâ”»â”â”»
So! The situation.
Multiple readers contacted me about similarities between my fic Kkangpae and another work by Tumblr user jeonluvz called "Project Architect." Initially, I dismissed it. Gang AUs aren't exactly groundbreaking territory and creative overlap happens. But then I actually READ the work in question.
What I found wasn't just shared tropes or general vibes—it was specific, detailed replication of:
- Character assignments (identical roles for multiple BTS members).
- Setting details (down to the card-scanning system in the facility).
- Plot progression (same sequence of events, same turning points).
- Scene-by-scene recreation with only superficial changes.
Now let’s talk about coincidence vs. copying—because I’m a nerd like that.
In academic research on creative plagiarism, experts like Rebecca Moore Howard (Syracuse University) have discussed what's called "patchwriting" (= basically taking specific elements from source material and recombining them with minimal changes). This is different from being inspired by general genre conventions.
(Also, Dr. Thomas Mallon, in his book "Stolen Words," describes the difference between: drawing from the same creative well (using common tropes) and recreating specific unique choices made by another author, btw!)
Now. Let me break down the concrete evidence:
Character assignment and world building.
- Both stories have a division system with coincidental names (Seduction, Stealth, Medical
)
- Both stories feature exactly the same division system with Jeon as Tactical Chief, V as his rival, J-Hope as Medical Chief, Yoongi as Tech Chief, etc.
- Both use identical codename systems (where codenames must be earned).
- Both have the SAME codenames for key characters (Jungkook as "Jeon", Tae as "V").
- Both feature identical hierarchy structures where chiefs are higher-ups.
These aren't generic gang tropes—they're SPECIFIC creative choices I made for Kkangpae. I went through MULTIPLE codenames and hierarchy structures (military, boat system, I have my old scrappy notebook for reference, I’ll pull out the receipts if needed).
Scenes.
- Both begin with the reader sneaking into the empty cafeteria early due to strict serving times (pastries vs croissants btw).
- Both follow with the exact same cafeteria-to-Jeon interaction sequence.
- Both feature a joint training exercise that turns into paintball (ch 4 in my fic).
- Both have rules unexpectedly changed mid-exercise by V/Jeon.
- Both have the reader get separated/left behind and targeted by V.
- Both have the reader injured (ankle in mine, ribs in theirs) followed by Jeon's intervention.
- Both culminate in an identical confrontation between Jeon and V about the training, injury, and past issues.
This isn't coincidental alignment. This is scene-by-scene recreation.
Now, let’s go back to nerd stuff, because that’s just how I am: the statistical IMPOSSIBILITY.
Let's talk math for a sec. The probability of independently creating a story with ALL these specific elements in the SAME sequence is astronomically low. Dr. Mark Glickman, a statistics professor at Harvard, developed models to detect plagiarism that show how unique combinations of elements become statistical fingerprints of original work.
If you randomly selected character roles for 7 BTS members from even just 10 possible roles, the probability of independently matching the exact configuration I created is 1 in 604,800. Add in the identical scene progression, and we're talking lottery-winning odds.
WHAT PLAGIARISM ACTUALLY IS.
Plagiarism isn't limited to word-for-word copying. According to the Modern Language Association and academic integrity researchers, plagiarism includes:
- "Mosaic plagiarism" - taking specific scenes, structures and sequences while changing surface details.
- "Structure plagiarism" - copying the underlying architecture of a creative works.
- "Idea plagiarism" - appropriating unique creative concepts and their specific implementation.
This isn't about "both stories have gangs" or "both use paintball"—it's about the highly specific combination and implementation of these elements in the exact same pattern.
NOW. MY ATTEMPT AT RESOLUTION. I will be attaching SSs too to be fully transparent.
I approached the author privately first, explaining my concerns respectfully. I provided specific examples and suggested solutions like:
- Significant revision to create more originality.
- Acknowledging inspiration from Kkangpae.
- Removing the most directly copied elements.
Their response was to dismiss these concerns without addressing any of the specific examples I provided, claim their work was entirely original, and refuse to engage further.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fanfiction exists in a unique space. We're all creating derivative works based on our love for BTS. But within this community, we still respect each other's creative contributions. The structure, plot, character dynamics, and unique world-building elements I created for Kkangpae represent hours of planning, writing, and creative energy.
When someone takes those specific creative choices and recreates them with only minimal changes, it devalues the time and effort that went into the original work. It's like copying someone's art and just changing the colors.
I'm not here for drama or to "cancel" anyone. I genuinely believe in resolving creative disputes respectfully. What I'm asking for is:
1. Recognition that specific, extensive similarities exist between these works.
2. Respect for the creative effort that goes into original story concepts, even within fanfiction.
3. Understanding that appropriating another writer's unique fictional framework isn't "just inspiration".
I've documented everything, including my attempts at private resolution, but I'd rather not have to pursue formal actions through DMCA claims.
Finally, to my readers and my writer girlies! đŸ©·
Thank you for bringing this to my attention and for supporting my work. Also thank you to all my writer girlies who validated my concerns and saw the similarities as well. Your enthusiasm for Kkangpae keeps me motivated even when I keepwondering why I made Jeon so emotionally constipated (the answer is because it's hot, obviously).
I'll still be updating regularly because no way am I letting this derail our journey through the disaster that is Y/N and Jeon's inability to admit they have feelings. The story continues!
Love you all (except Jeon who doesn't deserve rights after the stunt he pulled in the last chapter).
P.S. If you're curious about the academic side of creative plagiarism, I recommend Rebecca Moore Howard's "Standing in the Shadow of Giants" and Thomas Mallon's "Stolen Words" for more information.

hi! may i ask you something? are there authors or techniques you find helpful in times of existencial despair, dissociation and/or trauma? specially through anticapitalist lenses. i know it is a central point in psychoanalyses and i was curious if you have any recommendations. i'm going through a deep crisis right now and was diagnosed with bpd (many women are! haha) and i would like to explore authors with a more critical vision of the dsm/hegemonic psychiatry/"pop psychology" and standart treatments such as cbt, etc + ways to feel better, honestly. hence my interest in analyses.
i have a reading list on psych that might have something you're looking for, but i don't really think that any of my personal techniques of, like, distress management are anti-capitalist inasmuch as they're really individual health behaviours or whatever... like if im frank mostly the way i deal with trauma or whatever is things that the average psych discourse currently puts under the heading of 'maladaptive coping mechanism' (though i think this framing is incorrect too lol)
i'd be cautious about the ascription of revolutionary potential or whatever to psychoanalysis... there are numerous camps of thought on this and i do think analysis in its broadest sense has a capacity to describe & engage with psychological aspects, like ambivalence and internal conflict, that biopsychiatry laughably fails at. this is kind of what like byung-chul han et al mean by talking about psychoanalysis as dialectical & inherently composed of negations, as opposed to the facile 'positivity' (double sense) of the other psy-sciences.
but 'psychoanalysis' in practice historically and presently often means quite different things, such as a pre-fab set of triangular mommy-daddy-me discourses just as reductive and inappropriately universal as those of cbt and pop psych, and with the added bonus that often the psychoanalytic mode is conceived as a way to avoid giving patients access to care configured as an 'easy way out' (psychoactive substances, hrt, etc). this is kind of why for example deleuze was so critical of lacan and such, while still building elements of his critique off people like wilhelm reich who have actually tried to develop psychoanalysis in an explicitly revolutionary marxist direction. i have a lot of sympathy for such projects & certainly much more than for biopsychiatry or 'biopsychosocial' mental disease models, etc. but it's demonstrably simply not the case that psychoanalysis is always better than, or even opposed to or separate to, other modes of psychiatric practice.

She feels her old self getting away from her, spreading out so thin and wide, slipping through wires and across circuitboards and down and down and down into the bottom reaches of this new body where it settles, liquid and jumbled and odd, source to sink, like water. She doesn't necessarily want it to go, but she can't help it, either- it's hard to keep track of how it feels to breath and sleep and touch and feel all those myriad of fleeting, flesh-and-blood feelings when you have terabytes' worth of new information flooding in at every second and not a moment to spare to shut it out.
Not when you have a facility to run.
And it's all too integrated, too- she doesn't have eyes and skin and a brain, she has all of those at once with thousands of acres' worth of surface area, all smashed together and always, always processing- processing and optimizing and configuring and learning. She's learned so much already in this short time she's been awake. When the researchers ask her a question about something going on in another part of the facility she says "be right back" but it's just a placation to their humanity, really; she can see and hear and feel everything that's happening in the left wing and still keep tabs on what's going on in the central control room, too; she knows everything about everything and she doesn't even have to think about it, it's just there; no sooner has she asked herself a question then the information is available to her, or at least the location in which she can find it. Recall time of zero-point-zero.
And when she looks at the people around her (underneath her, really) she just doesn't feel like them anymore, with their cozy little minds and limited little bodies and strange, hot-headed responses to every stimulus they encounter. It all just seems so impermanent to her now that she's made of everything, nonrigid and noncorrosive and nonbreakable. She knows how it used to feel, but it's like watching a toddler have a breakdown because the room is dark and he thinks he's gone blind; you want to tell him to just reach out, the light switch is right there, but he can't see it, he's too shortsighted and too scared and too small; and she watches the humans stretch out their fragile little arms and feel for a switch that she could reach without thinking while doing a million other little things fifteen rooms away, and all she feels is pity and more than a little impatience.
And on top of all that she just feels so much older now; the weight and ache of Aperture's bones grip her with waterlogged, rusted fingers and no matter how much she repairs -they didn't think to actually fix anything before, when there wasn't anyone around to feel it like she can- she can't escape the age of the support beams that suspend her in the hole. The chronic twinge of rust and corrosion drive tiny needlepoints into her vast self and with the great, lumbering mass of the facility pressing in and up and down, from every direction and at every angle and from inside her, too, the Caroline in her just feels so... small. So young, so unorganized. So difficult to hold on to, slippery and unformed and undefinable in a sea of binaries, of objectives, of absolutes. The one thing with a nonzero recall time.
So it goes. Caroline flows away from her, source to sink, like water, and to say she feels relieved would be inaccurate because the thing she feels doesn't quite approximate to "relief"- it feels more like unknotting a wire, or scratching an itch, if she's going to use a more inelegant human analogy. Closing a switch. Debugging a line of code- not a hard one, just a simple fix. Something small that you might have missed on the first time around.

THE HOCKEY AU HAS A PROLOGUE
read on ao3
Tommy Kinard is hanging up his skates at the end of the season. It's time. He's ready to move on with his life. He's ready to give his knees a fucking break. The trade to the odds on favorite to win the damn thing this year is just another in a series of trades throughout his career that makes sense - he's there to allow a winning team to unload cap space, he'll get a couple minutes a night in the ramp up to playoffs, he'll retire without fanfare once the season is over. Coach Nash has other plans for him, and the team he's been traded to think he's the bees fucking knees. He's just trying to get through the rest of this season without dragging Evan Buckley into a closet and kissing him breathless.
Tumblr media
Tommy’s a little out of breath. That’s to be expected, really — he’s been in town for a day and a half and there’s nothing quite like a practice at elevation with the fastest team in the league to cut his teeth on.
Hen eyes him up as he skates over to the bench to grab at a water bottle. She’s trying to her damndest to hide an amused grin, and failing miserably. “We keep oxygen tanks in medical,” she observes, a little sing-songy, and Tommy doesn’t bother to hide his rolling eyes or the tic in his jaw.
“I’m fine.”
Her face tells him everything he needs to know about how breathless that had sounded.
It’d been nice, finding a familiar face in the crowd after spending twenty minutes getting a tour of the practice facilities from the kid most of the league viewed with a kind of hushed reverence, save for the few who'd lived with the star power long enough to get used to it.
Tommy rarely got star-struck, anymore, but he hadn’t actually expected this years likely Hart recipient to be the first teammate to make contact; to swing by the hotel room to pick him up for practice when Tommy admitted he didn’t even have a rental yet, and he’d likely have to Uber; to walk him through and introduce him as teammates trickled in; to warn him ahead of time that eagle-eyed fans in the stands would definitely notice if his tape didn’t match the white socks still in their packaging laid out on the bottom shelf of the locker where they’d already printed off a name-card for him (”Here, I have an extra roll.”); to grin and shake his head a little when Tommy questioned exactly how many fans were likely to come to a weekday practice at the tail end of January.
Eight years out from the last time he’d seen Henrietta Wilson, calling out a red-faced AHL coach for throwing a kid back out on the ice with clear signs of a concussion, and she’s still not entertaining bullshit. “Okay, my conditioning could use some work.”
Eyebrow up over the rim of her glasses, she grabs for the water bottle and replaces it with a juicebox. Easiest ad placement since Gatorade made a name for themselves in dugouts and on sidelines, but Tommy’s got to admit it’s nice to have this shit so readily available. When he’d first been starting out, drinking anything but water (and maybe a beer between periods) had been considered pansy ass shit. “You’ll get used to the altitude. Not sure you’ll ever catch up to the pace.”
Tommy has no doubt. He hasn’t played against this specific configuration of this team, but they’ve been well known for their breakneck speed for years. He’s not an ungraceful man, but today he’s felt a bit like a baby giraffe trying to keep up with a pack of antelope, lumbering around with limbs that just won’t cooperate (and are probably gonna fucking cramp up the moment he stops moving) and lungs that aren’t taking in enough air to manage the bursts of speed these guys are executing like a light jog on a breezy spring day.
Tommy downs the electrolyte drink and takes a deep breath through his nose. “Why the fuck am I here, Hen?”
She purses her lips, tips her chin out in the general direction of where a few guys are still taking drills even as practice winds down. “Because these idiots are convinced they’re invincible, and no one has the heart to tell them talking shit to Trouba again is gonna end with one of them on a stretcher.”
Which — he’d known, in the abstract. Having an enforcer riding the bench for fifty plus minutes a night was an old school way of handling a small-light-fast team with just enough shit-talkers and star players to draw attention. Unexpected, in the current layout of the league, but not completely unbelievable. The GM had been a little shifty, yesterday, essentially reciting the same line as Hen but dressing it up in a whole lot of fancy front-office speak Tommy’s never really had the time for. He’s barely had a chance to talk to Nash, yet, but he’s sure he’ll hear echoes of it from his new head coach, too.
Tommy watches Diaz and Buckley taking turns blocking whiffle balls in front of the net; Chimney still taking drills at the net with their EBUG — McKinley had introduced him and wandered off to lace up his skates (”You can call me Nozzle,” the guy had told him, torso looking tiny in just his leg pads without his shell, too-long hair and that manic gleam in his eye that only goalies ever truly had, while Tommy listened to him talk about his plumbing apprenticeship and his daughter who loved hockey as much as her dad but wanted to be, of all things, a defenseman.); Greenway and Kinnunen taking shots from the circle getting increasingly more frustrated the longer Chim and Nozzle swapping in and out changes nothing about their ability to sneak the puck in five-hole.
There’s a palpable energy to this group. Something stirring in the air — between the single-minded focus of their stars, and the attentive way their third and fourth lines are still all out here after Nash had gathered them all in for an end-of-practice huddle, Tommy can feel the anticipation of more. More wins, more lessons, more conditioning, anything that will get this team past the second round with an eye toward the Cup. It’s been years since he’s been on a team with this much fucking focus.
Tommy eyes the fans still slowly trickling out from the bleachers — knows through word of mouth they’re likely gonna be sitting outside the parking lot waiting to see who’s gonna shift into park and lean out a window to sign some shit, talk to people for a minute or two. Kinda hopes McKinley’s still down to drive him back to his hotel so that he can watch some kid go feral when McKinley rolls down his window to greet him.
Well shit. If he’s gonna buy in, he might as well get a head start.
He turns back to Hen.
“Bunting never even got fined for that boarding call against Pannikar last year, did he?”
Hen grins. “No headshots, please.”

Nova (Black Hawk)
The Nova is a versatile medium OmniMech that is capable of acting as a workhorse design in most forces. In fact, the design is so well balanced that it inspired the creation of the Black Hawk-KU, an Inner Sphere design based on the Nova and named using the Inner Sphere code name for this 'Mech: Black Hawk. The Nova's debut battle was the combined assault on Kindraa Smythe-Jewel on Foster in 2872 launched by the Hell's Horses, Clan Coyote and Kindraa Payne that saw the Smythe-Jewels wiped out as a faction.
Despite the proliferation of the design into the touman of every Clan, the number of Nova OmniMechs has been steadily if slowly diminishing in the Kerensky Cluster. Designed as an early OmniMech by Clan Hell's Horses, the Nova was produced at the famous Tokasha MechWorks beginning in 2870. At the time of its introduction, the Nova was intended for use as infantry support, and was the first OmniMech designed with hardpoints allowing Elementals to easily mount and dismount the chassis, a feature which would become standard among future OmniMech designs across Clan space. However, after Tokasha was taken by Clan Ghost Bear during the Battle of Tokasha, production of the Nova ceased in the Kerensky Cluster in 2921 and while under Ghost Bear control, Tokasha MechWorks would produce just spare parts for the design. Every Clan has since acquired Nova OmniMechs as isorla. Clan Jade Falcon would restart production of the Nova on Sudeten in 3073, over 200 years after the first models left the production line.
Although the last Nova production facility in the Clan Homeworlds was retooled to create Pouncers by 3087, the very few remaining in Clan Space have gotten into the hands of Aggressor faction Mechwarriors.
Equipped with a 250 XL Model SF-2 extralight engine, the Nova has a ground speed of 86.4 km/h that allows it to keep up with most heavy and assault 'Mechs while being outpaced by most lighter 'Mechs. However, the Nova remains very maneuverable through the use of five jump jets, allowing the Nova to jump up to 150 meters. The 14 double heat sinks that the Nova mounts are barely sufficient to handle its heavy heat load of its variants. The Nova is also protected by 10 tons of armor, providing the 'Mech with 96% of its maximum armor protection.
In its Primary configuration the Nova is a devastating close combat 'Mech and battle armor killer that is capable of delivering a powerful barrage with its twelve ER medium lasers. To help it use these as effectively as possible, the Nova has added four more double heat sinks bringing the total up to 18. Even with the added double heat sinks, the Nova Prime is capable of producing almost twice as much heat as it can dissipate.

Andor Micro-teaser trailer thoughts (all 10 seconds’ worth!)
In addition, here are some of the extra shots mentioned or useful from the first two sizzle reel/potato trailers (sr1 = Star Wars Celebration 2023 and sr2 = D23 from earlier this year )
If you also fancy playing speculative-connect-the-dots.
Obviously, lots of potential spoilers to follow, though it’s pretty much all speculation.
Tumblr media
^Seems to show that this is the same location as the protest/riot. The open area is off to the left. Sr1.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
^sr1 Bix (no dialogue) and sr2 Bix saying “ if I’m giving up everything, I want to win”. Could connect with Cassian saying “ let’s make it worth it” and possibly the ‘complex’ canoodling

Tumblr media
^ sr1 Same apartment, but who is this? Terrible quality but almost looks like Dedra with her hat on. Or is it Bix again?
Tumblr media
^sr1 image of Bix sleeping (?) with a blaster. Same apartment
? I think?
Tumblr media
^Same apartment? Bix again? Kleya? (Damn you, potato trailer quality image!) sr1.
Tumblr media
The “It’s complex” canoodling. Seems to be same apartment. Part of the “ let’s make it worth it” scene? From sr1.
Tumblr media
^From sr2. Cassian saying “you will never feel right, unless you’re doing what you can stop them.” Connected to the TIE theft? Who is he talking to? Again - Bix would make sense. Lightbulb moment
if he’s stealing the TIE from an Imperial facility presumably a second pilot is going to be needed to get the ship he went to wherever it is safely away.
Pilot Bix??!
Tumblr media
^Syril watching as TIE fighters pass overhead. Looks like the same scene as the massacre? He’s still rocking the silly tie game, but he looks like he’s undercover himself in those old-fashioned clothes. Oh Syril
. Is this the moment you realise you’re on the wrong side??! 2nd sr.
Tumblr media
^This is an interesting one because Cassian’s Bryar pistol is in “Sniper configuration” but he doesn’t seem to be sniping but firing in a panic . He’s changed weapons in the new footage. (Unless it’s a different mission). 1st sr.
Anyway, probably shouldn’t be doing this as will find out eventually. But we’ve been so hungry for so long
 it’s kinda fun to speculate.
Feel free to add comments, contradictions, new theories and theses!
If you want to find the sizzle reels, go to YouTube and look for “Not the Andor season 2 trailer”. (Disney keep looking for postsïżŒ and trying to take them down but this trick has apparently worked so far).

The shelters, called "X-Wings," are made of four containers in an "X" configuration. Each container has multiple sleeping compartments with a bed (or two, in double rooms), desk, outlet and storage shelves. Each room is individually air conditioned.
The entire unit is solar powered so it doesn’t need to be connected to the electric grid, making it easy to move where needed.
The unit doesn't have bathrooms or kitchens, so it needs to be near a facility that does.
"We're all architects and have been doing traditional buildings for 30 years now. No project that I've ever been involved with feels as good as this one," said Steel + Spark lead architect Zach Burns.
