fun new thing about my autism (not fun) is that I can’t remember common phrases well enough. Like I can’t remember the correct words/order. So I’ll mix up phrases like “as far as I can tell”, “or so I’ve heard” “from what I can tell” and create new embarrassing versions of them that probably don’t make sense

I don't think I created Locust with the intention of making him the most romantic monster there ever was and yet here we are with him stroking Connor's hair like a pet and calling him "my love" in every conversation

anyway AU where there’s no ShadowMan so connor just traipses off into the woods and comes back fine and dandy but him and luke are still mad at each other

for context the lighthouse is still up and running june is mayor etc

basically the way it ends is how it’s always been

so the next day when luke shows up at connor’s he really did leave early just to avoid luke

they’re at school and luke and jai are having their ghastly grinner convo and connor walks by and him and luke share a Meaningful Look

they both miss each other but they’re both too stubborn and afraid (BOTH of them are BOTH things. CONNOR.) to admit it

jai catches it and says “brrr what’s up with you two something something arctic circle” or smth

and luke’s like ion wanna talk about it

and the rest of the day carries on like that and the rest of the midnight crew take notice

now in this au i like to think that june would kinda be hanna’s mentor so they’re real tight

so hanna has a key to the lighthouse

and the midnight gang hatches a scheme to trap con and luke in there until they make up or make out (jai’s words)

so in the group chat that they obviously have hanna’s like “hey i was thinking the lighthouse is p creepy at night we could go there since i have a key n all”

and everyone’s like sounds lit so they meet there

and they get luke and connor to walk in first so they can lock the door behind them

and they’re like wtf let us out

but the midnight coalition is like no you stay there until you can play nice again we don’t care if it takes all night

so they leave and keep them there all night

and luke and con get to talkin and connor’s like “you know this is where i was gonna take you”

and luke’s like “really? why did you want me to come here so badly?” and connor’s like “why were you so against going?” and luke’s like “i asked first” cause of course he would say that

so connor says “lemme show you” and he takes him up to the top of the lighthouse to see the view cause he thought it was even prettier at night

and so they talk around it for a while until they find out that connor wanted this to be a date but he was too afraid to say so because luke had been kinda distant lately so he wanted to kinda test the waters and see where the night would take them

and luke was afraid he was gonna say something that would reveal his feelings for connor so he had been distancing himself from connor so he wouldn’t have to be so close to him without being So Close to him

and they laugh about how stupid they were and have a big gay kiss and stargaze together till they fall asleep

and the midnight incorporated affiliates and sons come back and see them cuddled together asleep and wake them up (but not without taking a few pics first)

and they’re like “so,,,,,,i take it you two made up” (“and/or made out” “jai,,,,,,,”)

and they all go to the glow dance together and have a merry ole time while the boys scheme on how to get gabby and hanna together

Did you watch the new season of Are You Afraid of the Dark? Thoughts?

I am and I’m both nervous and excited for tonight’s episode.

As for thoughts, the show is going great. The six episode run really allows for the story to be more fleshed out. I love the backstory they’ve given to this season’s villain. You feel sorry for his pain and what happened to him but that doesn’t stop you from wanting him defeated because he’s still kidnapping kids.

Also Seth and Sardo are definitely my favorite characters of the season. Seth is just so adorable and he works so well with everyone, especially with Jai. And with Sardo, I like the new take on him and how he acts. He doesn’t feel like they’re trying to just copy the original Sardo, but he also has this different things with him that calls back to the original as well.

Also, with Sardo, I feel like he’s either the son or maybe implied to be the grandson of the original Sardo from the original series. Which then begs the question of how real are these stories if Sardo, a fictional character, is present in them. Or are the stories we’re watching actually being told by someone else like in The Tale of Silver Sight episodes. If so, who? I also wonder if we’ll see more newer versions of old characters, like Vink (Who Sardo also mentions by name in the phone call scene before Luke shows up in the 4th episode) or, as he keeps popping up, the Ghastly Grinner.

I do have one minor complaint, the romance between Hanna and Luke feels kinda forced and unnecessary. It’s probably because of how much it reminds me of how Rachel acted with Gavin both with Hanna and Luke both being Rachel, which makes the cute shyness just hard to watch. I would have fathered they had no romance in this season or made it with a different duo. (like maybe Luke and Connor)

Overall, great season and I hope that they make more and if they do, make more like this.

Oh yay, you're watching it! Yeah, I don't think anyone really enjoyed the awkward romance subplot. Almost everyone just ignores that and focuses on Luke/Connor and Gabby/Hanna instead. 🏳‍🌈🏳‍🌈🏳‍🌈

Hi! I finished watching it last night and what can I say?

okay, so I’d like to reiterate the fact that I absolutely loved how they divided the first episode into an overall arch aka connor’s disappearance and a story arc aka the tale of the hauted wood and I wish they could’ve done the same for every single episode but you know... they’re all being cursed by the shadowman they don’t really have time to sit in a circle and tell scary stories *cries*. That being said, I adored every time they showed some type of story happening so June’s and Connor’s. 

About the plot I thought it was great, I love how the reboot is bringing the stories to life (although... maybe it’s not so good to dwell on what this means for the characters created by the og midnight society...), and I love how this season actually made me feel tense at some points, basically, I think they finally found their footing for the reboot and if/when we get a season 3 I’m excited to see what they do. 

Also the easter eggs to the OG show!!! Jai having a ghastly grinner comic book/doll, the specs!! (I need to rewatch this episode asap btw), sardo’s magic mansion... and the og Sardo! and the not so subtle reboot/og talk. 

I’m gonna be honest, I didn’t pay attention to any possible ship in the show other than what it was presented to me, but I can see how the fandom can ship them.
