location: the forest
silvio had been on cloud 9 ever since the small boost in powers. even though he was missing silvana more than anything, she would get a kick out of this place, he knew that she'd want her to have fun. he manifested the powers of a cheetah and started running through the forest, ducking every now and then. since he wasn't the most sturdy on his feet, he ended up tripping over a log and rolling out.
the son of amaru quickly stood up and dusted himself off, trying to make sure he didn't have any new scrapes. he was sure he did though. "by the gods, this place is fantastic. isn't it?" he looked over to whoever was closest to him. "i know we're in the midst of a war and people are already going out on missions, but i think it's important to remember to have some fun too. what do you say?"

location: near the temples
somehow, almost like he was gravitating towards it, he found his way to the temple. pilar took in a deep breath as he looked around at the statues. then he realized that he wasn't alone and tried to be even more silent. tough luck. he wasn't the most quiet or coordinated, so he did in face drop the incense holder in his hand. “my apologies.” pilar crouched down, picking up the contents. “i was just coming to cleanse the place, do not mean to interrupt.”

location: bay + cove
after getting the lay of the land, as much as possible at least, badru found himself in a place that made him comfortable. the cove was big enough that one could swim in, but small enough that he wasn't going to get too carried away. what he didn't realize was how easy it was to get swept up in the relaxation. he pushed himself up until he was above shore again, floating, and thought he was alone. yet, when he heard something, badru quickly swirled around. "y'know, it's not nice to sneak up on a man when he's indisposed."

location: garden
Nico knew it was almost bizarre how serene and harmonic this part of the island, of this world could be even in times like this. It was almost too easy finding a distraction in the beauty of the nature around him, the flowers and plants that bloomed as if nothing could keep them from thriving. But he knew perfectly well that he couldn't ignore the danger they were about to face. One too many times in the past he'd turned a blind eye to the reality that life wasn't all bright colors and sunshine. It was scary, and war still didn't feel like something Nico was cut out for, son of a goddess or not. But it was coming, whether or not he was ready.
Nevertheless he gave in and allowed himself some peace of mind, a distraction even for just a short while. So he'd retreated to the gardens, his favorite area around here, and started drawing. Sinking deep into the beauty he tried to capture, blocking out all the trouble brewing around him. And, apparently, also completely ignoring the presence of another person, until a glimpse of their shadow had him startled, flinching as he turned to face them with a hint of embarrassment written on his features. "S-Sorry", he gasped, as if being surprised by their presence was offensive. "I did not hear you coming."

remy was really trying to fit in and participate in all the customs currently in action. dio had, of course, deeply complicated this for him. ultimately, he would err on the side of naima and what she had planned, so he dressed for her and tried to walk the fine line between the overlapping celebrations. his current tactic was to park himself on the piano bench and play every upbeat party hit, and soberingly beautiful ballad he knew, alternating between the vibes.

location: on the shopping strip
with the tiki bar being closed, waaiz felt like he had to work overtime. make sure he had what he needed from seth to get the last ingredient, but also make sure the patrons weren't getting restless. he didn't want to take over anyone's business either. that's why he just helped serve regular drinks. “are you feeling parched?” brows perked up as he stopped dead in his tract. a tray of lemonade, sweet tea, water, and soda rested on his hands. “while it's not as creative as what seth whips up, this should have most of the basics for you.”

... it wasn't at all difficult to think that he had been born into this role. butcher. killer. blood-spiller. after all, it was all he had ever known. and some might argue that he might have been different if circumstances were different ────── if he wasn't born into a strict intentional community where blood was shed to demonstrate their reverence, but then rafe didn't think he would be himself at all. he didn't know anything else like a precise cut to the neck and seeing blood pouring out that allowed him to tap into something so ... primal. something so undeniable. and although the rapiers in his hands were nothing like his favorite butcher's knife, rafe had always been a quick learner. and training for combat wasn't the all different from butchering animals ... or the methodical ritual of sacrifices. hack. slash. puncture. he danced between the training dummies, each strike deliberate and precise. the rapiers whistled through the air, stabbing the necks of the dummies with accuracy. and with unsettling speed, he twisted the blades, severing heads cleanly from their bodies. one by one, the heads thudded to the floor, decapitated dummies left standing there as rafe smiled at himself. ❝ sorry about the mess ... ❞ he said politely, seeing that someone had been watching him all this time. and quite ironic how someone so dangerous didn't not look threatening at all ────── such a prepossessing smile on his lips as he approached the other. he rarely ever met people outside of his community. but rather than being intimidated, he allowed it to be a source of excitement. rafe believed that they were all here for a reason : to be their divine parent's blades. and there was nothing like a common cause to bring people together. ❝ i'm rafe. well, rafael ... but friends call me rafe. ❞

"no...see...no. just no!" holli was real loopy, in one of those rare times it was actually obvious. she had gone harder than ever before, between still drinking away the memory of being sober and dionysus throwing the party of the century, she was partaking in everything he had served. which...was a lot.
currently, in between bouts of giggles, holli was trying to make herself eat some weird alcoholic food dio had brought from who knows where, that apparently had bugs inside. "i know it's a mental thing! i gotta get over it!" problem was it smelled weird and she didn't think that was just in her head. "just gonna do it. down the hatch." she held her nose but still did not eat it.

[ location: the path outside the gate to the cemetery ] [ open to: anyone ]

the cemetary had always been a peaceful place to nate, and no matter where he had traveled over the world, there was always something like it to retreat to. his first few weeks here, nate had felt weird about going to just hang out there, or outside the gates, and he had worried that some of the hades kids might take offense to it; or that others might think it was weird.
but he couldn't be holed up in his room in the basement of his cabin anymore, and needed the fresh air on this face, and to tinker with his bike. ironically, this was the thing demis might find him genuinely weird about, when they had much more practical ways of travel, not to mention maintenance and repair. but that thought would have never crossed his mind and he'd had no qualms about setting up a shady place for himself to work beside the iron fence. once he'd stopped to take a break, he chugged something from a tall styrofoam cup, finally noticing someone standing in the pool of shade with him. "oh. hey." nate cleared his throat. "d'ja need me to move or somethin?"

@conquerstarters open to: all location: labyrinth
elias liked challenging himself - physically & mentally, though lately the physical side had been the main focus, which ... was not ...satisfying. he wanted to train to be stronger, he wanted to feel more capable when it came to fighting alongside the other halfgods, but he really needed a break from the traditional shooting at dummies training, because ...he could shoot at dummies, that wasn't the issue.
the labyrinth sounded like a good change in pace, but the test felt a bit too stressful, so he just wanted to find his way through, but halfway through the maze, elias got bored & instead just flopped down in one of the corridor corners, book in his lap & doing what he loved the most. reading.
he was so lost in the book, he didn't even notice someone else approaching until they bumped feet into his calf. big man in narrow corridor ... not the smartest move. "oh, sorry."

"god i can't believe how much i missed this food. they gotta put crack in it over here." shiv always loved food of any kind from most any where, but something about that specific hestia touch just touched her heart. probably had something to do with these being the first "home" cooked meals she'd ever eaten, and certainly the first to be made with love.
after she'd scarfed several huge bites, disappearing them more quickly than anyone who didn't know her might expect, shivanna finally looked up at the other demi at the table. "so whatcha got goin on after this? anything juicy i can get into? i need to fill my schedule up or else i'm just gonna rot away. i been up too long already to not be doing anything of purpose." she'd managed to break her napping habit in the last year, she didn't need to backslide now.

❝ don't worry about me: I promise I can hold my own for another 6 rounds ... unless you wanna hold ME sweetheart ~ ❞ oh, the son of fujin was having a time at the beloved tiki bar: their booty shorts were short, their wet tee they got from tokyo was soaked and squeezing very nicely, the guys were very very friendly, and the drinks ? oh they were gonna sleep very well tonight ... that was, if they managed to sleep. whilst they were hoping to meet their teammates, mai was informed they were immersing in their house of the dragon fantasies in acoma, and while mai could have ventured up, they felt somewhat ill prepared and decided to hold the fort down while everyone was dragon-bonding in the clouds, hence why they were getting well-acquainted with seth's drink selection ... and maybe with the other across the bar. friends ? partners ? lovers ? all the options were easy breezes for mai. ❝ well don't be shy, sweetie ! there's plenty of room and plenty of drinks over here ~ ❞

Dragons. They truly were awe inspiring and a personal favourite of the wintery demigod. Kol had loved them as a child, when they had just been creatures in stories - now here they were, the real thing. It was the experience of a lifetime, wandering around Acoma, seeing the breathtaking creatures up close.
Standing before one of the huge guardian statues, Kol lay down his guarland of ice flowers, adding the intricately crafted decoration of pristine flora encased in a never-melting frost of his own making. And it seemed fitting to decorate with his own personal touch. "You know, it's going to be pretty hard to convince me to leave this place." He chuckled, offering an easy smile.

location: labyrinth
most people tried to get out of the maze as soon as possible. he stepped foot into it to get lost. to not have anyone bother him for too much. babu was hiding out from the sun and sketching something from memory, as best as he could at least. he got distracted when he heard a pair of footsteps approaching, looking up and dropping his pencil. “do you need help out of here?” a small breath. he didn't know if he could help, but he could try. he was still sitting on the ground, knees raised as his feet were firmly planted on the ground. “i think straight ahead and to the right is next.”

location: shopping strip
cepos had been chasing something down the shopping strip. normally, he was used to being the cat in cat and mouse, but not the one that got something stolen. he rolled his eyes since he wasn't used to being on this side. right when he was going to catch them, someone else came out of nowhere. of course. he sighed softly and quickly pressed his feet down on the ground and boosted himself up in the air. he used the sign above him to propel himself forward, flipping over them in a way.
“anyone ever tell you that you should watch where you're going?”
he no longer cared about the stolen goods, now focused on human interaction. “i could've hurt you if you weren't careful!”

[ location: one of the tucked away gardens ] [ open to: all! ]
"the absolute craziest thing about this whole experience maybe, is the difference in the tree growth? and fruit yield? like, of course, i knew to expect it, psh..." remy was still very excited and passionate about exploring camp and all the different things that lived and grew there, and likely would be for some time to come. now, he was exclaiming excitedly to anyone who would listen about the various differences in growing fruit among regions of the globe, having seen it many times in text, but never having experienced it in person. it was a lot. "just even the sun, hitting consistently at a slightly different angle, it changes everything! looks like a tree in opposite world." he laughed heartily.
