[ location: hearthsgiving! ] [ open to: all! ]
remy was really trying to fit in and participate in all the customs currently in action. dio had, of course, deeply complicated this for him. ultimately, he would err on the side of naima and what she had planned, so he dressed for her and tried to walk the fine line between the overlapping celebrations. his current tactic was to park himself on the piano bench and play every upbeat party hit, and soberingly beautiful ballad he knew, alternating between the vibes.

[ location : diosgiving ] [ open to : all! ]
"no...see...no. just no!" holli was real loopy, in one of those rare times it was actually obvious. she had gone harder than ever before, between still drinking away the memory of being sober and dionysus throwing the party of the century, she was partaking in everything he had served. which...was a lot.
currently, in between bouts of giggles, holli was trying to make herself eat some weird alcoholic food dio had brought from who knows where, that apparently had bugs inside. "i know it's a mental thing! i gotta get over it!" problem was it smelled weird and she didn't think that was just in her head. "just gonna do it. down the hatch." she held her nose but still did not eat it.

Dragons. They truly were awe inspiring and a personal favourite of the wintery demigod. Kol had loved them as a child, when they had just been creatures in stories - now here they were, the real thing. It was the experience of a lifetime, wandering around Acoma, seeing the breathtaking creatures up close.
Standing before one of the huge guardian statues, Kol lay down his guarland of ice flowers, adding the intricately crafted decoration of pristine flora encased in a never-melting frost of his own making. And it seemed fitting to decorate with his own personal touch. "You know, it's going to be pretty hard to convince me to leave this place." He chuckled, offering an easy smile.

OPEN! prompt #10: giving thanks
After a full day of games and exploring, Hugo followed the crowd toward one of the more impressive buildings. Where visitors could give thanks to their generous hosts and the dragons. Hugo stepped aside after collecting a complimentary scroll and pen. With a moment and some space, he could work up a traditional thank you note, but when he spotted a familiar face nearby, he did wonder if it would be quicker and more sentimental to pair up.
"Are you just starting yours?" Hugo asked, ready to rely on himself if they were finished. "My writing can be a bit... stale."

[Location: Frozen Lake] [Open to: Anyone]
Could anyone really blame her for loving the winter and snow? She was a daughter of Boreas and she took pride in the ichor that ran in her bloodstreams. Besides... She made ice her livelihood. As a figure skater she had spent more time spinning on blades than enjoying the sun. And sometimes that showed.
Granted, there she was, eyes cold and focused as she slid over the frozen surface of the lake, her hair in a tight, high ponytail, and when the moment came she took impulse, her body using the momentum to spin in the air and then glide gracefully, only then noticing she was being watched, smile forming on red coated lips. "Hey. Didn't see you there."

@divinelyembraced liked for a starter :3 ty bby
camp halfblood was a peaceful place to be at, most of the time. sure, right now they were seemingly caught in eternal winter, but vincent liked the snow. reminded him of his youth, which … should bring him the opposite on the emotions front, but alas it brought him a sense of comfort & familiarity. sometimes he just needed that little push to not feel as lonely as he did. vincent lived for people, but he didn't really connect to the people he cared for. or they didn't connect with him. he couldn't tell.
a habit vincent has was seemingly stuck in was to hang around the arena, watching other demigods spar & providing quick relief if they needed it. sparring could get ugly sometimes & the infirmary wasn't that close. so, vincent was sat, cross-legged on a bench, watching the fights & training go, but finding himself … especially distracted with… one very talented demigod. the list of victories was growing with every passing hour & vincent … wondered if he wasn't secretly a god. although - he knew some of the other demigods were strong. this one seemed a fighter. a good one, too.
his latest victim was … a mess after a hard punch, so vincent had rushed over to provide relief, his light engulfing the fallen fighter. when their eyes snapped open, vincent patted his hair & stood, swiftly switching his focus to … the winner. he was bleeding, too. it wasn't bad, but … vincent still extended a bright palm to lay against the man's cheek, offering help - if it was accepted. "won't hurt, i promise." soft smile sent his way, "hi, i'm vincent."

location: arena open to: come at me, i dare u
curled up almost comfortably on a bench & leaned against a wall, elias was taking a break from training - only that said break should've been over a little longer than an hour ago, but he'd not really wanted to get up just yet. he always brought his backpack, which held books & comics - among other things, in case he ever found himself bored. breaks were only that if one of two things happened; one: coffee was had. in this case, not doable, because he would've had to leave the arena & all. two: relax. books helped him relax. yes, even when they were about physics, although that wasn't his topic per se. he'd stumbled over that book & liked the cover, so he'd grabbed it & then, well - it was interesting.
his weapons (a maul & a great sword) had originally leaned against a stone pillar, but somehow developed a life of their own, creating quite the obstacle course along with his armor & had already called for a sacrifice. they weren't happy. of course. "i'm sorry, i'm sorry. but you see.... it's all physics..." he could go on.

location: olympic wall open to: all you cuties
winter had taken over camp in a quick stride. he got here a few days before, had seen the first signs, but nothing could've prepared him for the cold winds that sucked the last breaths out of vegetation within camp walls. the cold didn't matter to him, it didn't mess with him personally, but he did usually feel ... melancholic to see the world stand still underneath a layer of ice in the winter. after a quick trip to the garden to find it somewhat lifeless, nathan had given in to the pull to check out the most likely.... most impressive building in camp. it reached so high, nathan could swear one could ascend to the heavens up there.
but it was even more impressive to watch it work. gears turned & areas all but changed entirely. "fascinating, ...isn't it? you ever tried it?"

[ location : dark bonfire ] [ open to : everyone! ]
"no like see, listen. trust me. if we build this part out here, the peak of the structure will--well wait, it's a dome, so i guess it technically doesn't have a peak, but it'll go right over where the bonfire was...." definitely not ready to quit playing in the snow just yet, remy is spatially sketching out an igloo to sit between all the cabins, dragging his boot through what's already fallen to create trenches as a guide to follow. "now, full disclosure, i don't have much experience with snow, but i'm confident i can figure it out." luckily max had caught up, dragging remy's coat and boots out to him one by one, because he was ignorant enough to freeze to death on accident, and was now playing himself.

prompt: tie a ribbon with a wish
𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐬, zachariah really wasn't sure what he would wish for. he thought of different things, but he felt like he had everything he wanted. his family were alive an healthy, he had some great friends, some amazing relationships, he had his bees. if there was one thing that was missing, perhaps it was a thing he never really thought about til now. he was getting older, and love really wasn't some he prioritize in life. perhaps this wish could be a little selfish, since he always thought of others first.
as he walked up to the majestic tree, he gazed upon it's beauty. it looked so magical. he wondered how long the tree had stood. " i wish to find a companion who ends up understanding me, who will be loyal and kind, who will pick me up when i fall, " he whispered. " an epic love. " he said as he tied the ribbon on one of the branches. he looked around at the many other ribbons, different colors that only made the tree look more alive. perhaps the wishes will come true one day for all of them.

Event: Dance of Dragons Prompt #6: Participate in a crafting workshop where you can create dragon-themed jewelry, pottery, or paintings
Artwork had never been Hugo's strong suit. Yet, he didn't feel one bit intimidated when joining others for a creative afternoon. Acoma made him feel quite welcome to at least participate and do his part. Working with ceramics seemed more his style. He liked to work with something tactile. The only challenge was his month old handicap, but still he felt inspired to overcome the learning pains.
That was after spending an afternoon meeting Draco and sharing a special moment with Dio. If he could create a figure of Draco that didn't look like a ugly pile of clay, he intended to gift the statue to Dio. Before he knew it, two hours had passed by and he had gathered a variety of tools to carve and shape details of Draco's face, limbs, and hide.
As he wiped his hands and gave the figure one final look over, a local stepped in to offer round gems that could be added for the eyes. They seemed to know that this was Draco, since the color offered matched his almost perfectly. With care, Hugo added the gems and was at last pleased with his work. He was elated to learn that the pottery would be fired over night and ready for pick up by morning. He was also surprised by what he was able to accomplish with a bit of time, focus and patience.

@haildioson
ever since lev came back from his not so little roadtrip, there'd been one thing after another, but lev would lie if he claimed he didn't ... enjoy most of it. sure, he'd like to not struggle as much as he had been during fights - especially now that he'd found a reason to stay alive, but ..it was what it was. he'd just have to slip another training session into his schedule. somewhere.
for now, though? he had to recover. old man bones, as nico would put it so ...lovingly. with the heavy beating he took on both recent quests, he'd spent the past few days sleeping - mostly. back on his feet, he heard about the party. not because he was interested per se, but because all of camp had been chattering left & right, so he'd taken the time to attend. wasn't like he had much else to do, right?
of course holli was there. she'd never miss festivities, of any kind. he hadn't seen her since saving the goblin princess, which.. had been a few days ago. what could he say? old. man. ego bones. demigod or not, getting pummeled by war hammers & clubs hurt. nico wasn't here, with his current mood.. lev wasn't sure if he'd join, but he hoped so. for now, though - lev was on a mission. holli. "hey, kiddo." little wave, a side-ways smile cracked her way. "heard dio's ...taken over? his parties better than yours, y'think?"

Event: Dance of Dragons Prompt #4: Help Kiara and Erasmo decorate the banquet hall
Since his decorating of the statues went so well, Hugo was beckoned by volunteers to assist in the banquet hall's finishing touches. With aid from his cloud mount, Hugo made quick work of adorning the hard to reach corners of the hall, lit a few spare candles, and gave glass panes a good cleaning. Once he landed, the small crew admired their work and invited Hugo to enjoy an early lunch.
It was nice to skip the madness of the crowd that would soon be filling the space. He had the chance to enjoy relaxing chatter beside many passionate locals. Plus, the food was so fresh and warm, the entire experience soothed the warrior's soul. He wasn't accustomed to being rewarded for performing small tasks. Too humble to allow it all to go to his head. Still, he accepted the praise and enjoyed the rare feeling of accomplishment. These were the moments that defined Acoma most for Hugo.

Event: Dance of Dragons Prompt #3: Help the dragon caretakers feed and tend to the dragons Though the group he was part of were instructed to keep their cool, many were gasping in awe or adoration at the hatchlings before them. These young dragon's were just as excited to be fed and have their caves tended to. Hugo was able to remain steady and alert. After all, he met with Draco earlier in person and most others through the races.
Hugo helped himself to the less exciting work; sweeping out the old bedding before filling in with the new. To his surprise, Siren turned away from the group that moved on from the feeding. Seeming to purr, if dragons could purr, with a high pitch vibrating coo. Since Siren had audible abilities, the sound didn't throw off the fighter who set his broom aside.
Only because of his time with Draco did he feel bold enough to reach out. Soon, both hands cupped the creature's chin. He could feel the vibrations flow through the hatchling's throat. Hugo said nothing, only smiled and soothed the beast with gentle pets. They were different from Draco, and all the others, so this moment felt very special. As if he at last had made his own dragon friend.

Event: Dance of Dragons Prompt #2: Help decorate statues of the city’s guardian dragons with garlands and ornaments
Before witnessing Acoma's dragons in the flesh, Hugo approached the statues that embodied their giant forms. Fully grown, unlike the hatchlings Hugo was told they would be meeting. These dragons were of the past. He was certain he would have the chance to hear their stories over the two week visit.
Volunteers offered up a string of garland and a small set of ornaments to dress the statues. It almost felt wrong to decorate such revered figures, but everyone around was busy at work. Enthusiastic to adorn the intimidating structures in color.
Hugo would summon his small cloud mount. The wisp collected around his ankles and with one great gust helped him rise inches off of the ground. The lift took him higher, til his nose reached their flared snouts. Maneuvering to the side, he easily draped the garlands and ornaments in spots that were still bare.
After, he would assist others by taking their decorations and placing them where they desired.

Event: Dance of Dragons Prompt #1: Visit Acoma’s sacred dragon altar and leave offerings
Hugo's time at Acoma turned out to be far more enjoyable than he had anticipated. He spent days meeting dragons and even rode one in an exhilarating race. Witnessing the islands care and artistry for dragons inspired Hugo to pay similar homage to his own pantheon (and perhaps others if he was ever invited to).
While the many activities had been fun and amusing, he felt his mind and spirit relax once he approached the sacred altar. Entering shrines had a similar effect on Hugo. The outside world and all it's problems vanished. Here, he could focus on gratitude and extend a small gift. He brought his own preparation of kimbap from home, but purchased a pint of smoldering ember ale that bested him in the drinking game.
He smiled to himself and reflected on the offerings. The first a taste of his small corner of Earth and the second a bold representation of Acoma. "Your people are amazing. I hope this visit inspires us all to take pride and celebrate our own world. Thank you for enlightening me. I will strive to repay your kindness."
