Random Doctor Who Facts You Might Not Know, Part 23
River Song chose Bernice Summerfield as her tutor in university because she knew the Doctor. Benny remembers that she was the most annoying student she ever had, rarely attended class, but still graduated on top.
Not only does the Sixth Doctor wear a cat brooch, but he wears cat cufflinks too.
Jenny had managed to track the Eleventh Doctor down during the Siege of Trenzalore but was unable to get to him due to the forcefield kept by the Papal Mainframe.
The Sixth Doctor has twelve identical spare coats in the TARDIS wardrobe.
Leela once stabbed the Second Doctor with a Janus thorn. Jamie immediately began a knife fight with her in response.
Peri Brown once had to disguise herself as Queen Elizabeth I, big dress and all. The Sixth Doctor was much more amused by this than she was.
When Helen first became a companion, she thought the Eighth Doctor was scary.
After the Twelfth Doctor kicked Rassilon off Gallifrey, Rassilon allied himself with the Cybermen, was converted into the CyberPresident, and created an alternate timeline where the Cybermen had taken over the universe. This timeline was later eradicated.
There are 76 different color tones in the Sixth Doctor's coat.
While at university, River stole a vortex manipulator in order to get help from her future self on essays. The reason she wasn't expelled was because she argued that it was impossible to plagiarize off of herself.
When listening to a device that sounds like the voice of someone the listener admires and respects, Ianto heard Jack, and Jack heard the Tenth Doctor.
In a parallel universe, Rob Tyler was the son of Jackie and Pete Tyler. He was the male counterpart of Rose and in a relationship with Mickey.
By one account, Rassilon’s first body was male; by another, female.
After a conversation with the Third Doctor, River became convinced that the Sixth Doctor was copying her hair.
After learning about messages in bottles, Jenny wrote to the Doctor, hoping it would one day find them.
Dalek juice is a beverage made from the secretions that come out of a Dalek as it is tortured.
The Sixth Doctor developed a weak form of night vision from the carrot juice Mel had him drink.
Jamie has disguised himself as a woman on two different occasions (that I can think of).

Claire Jane Seresin
0500 Hours – Pacific Coast
The ocean was just starting to glow with morning light when Claire Wallace stepped outside, coffee mug warming her hands. She took a long breath. Today wasn’t a mission. There was no briefing, no schedule except one:
Marry Jake Seresin.
Not Hangman. Not the cocky pilot known for one-upping his squadmates.
Just Jake.
Inside the beach house, her sister and oldest friends stirred quietly. The Navy world had always been compartmentalized from her personal life—but today, that line blurred.
The only one from that life attending was Javy Machado.
Coyote.
Jake’s best friend. Her first real supporter in the early days of their back-and-forth.
Claire smiled to herself. He better not let Jake wear aviators at the altar.
0630 Hours – The Groom’s Suite
Jake stood in the mirror, shirt half-buttoned, mouth twisting as he debated cufflinks. His hair was regulation-short, but styled more neatly than usual. The guy had flown combat missions—but commitment? That was scarier.
Coyote leaned against the wall, arms crossed. “You’re nervous.”
Jake scoffed. “I’m calculating.”
“Man, you’re sweating.”
“Fine,” Jake admitted. “I’m nervous.”
Javy clapped him on the back. “Means you’re doing it right.”
Jake took out a note Claire had left in his flight suit pocket the day before. Scrawled in her fast, sharp handwriting:
Don’t even think about doing a barrel roll with the vows. Also, I’m winning the first dance. – C
Jake grinned.
1300 Hours – The Bluff Over the Ocean
The ceremony took place on a private stretch of cliffside, nothing but sea breeze and sunlight. Rows of wooden chairs faced an arch wrapped in white flowers and olive branches. Not a formal Navy wedding — no uniforms, no salutes.
Just family. Just friends.
And Coyote, standing beside Jake, the only piece of the fleet present.
Claire walked down the aisle barefoot, wind in her veil, hair braided with pearls. Jake’s chest tightened.
She’s not just the woman I love. She’s the only person who ever challenged me where it counts.
They met at the altar with quiet, knowing smiles.
Claire whispered, “You didn’t wear the aviators.”
Jake replied, “Didn’t want you to mistake me for someone who wasn’t serious.”
Vows
Claire went first.
“Jake, you are the only person who ever made me rethink what it meant to be strong. You’re chaos and clarity, and for better or worse, you’re my favorite kind of turbulence. I promise to never try to fix you—just to fly beside you.”
Jake swallowed hard before speaking.
“Claire, you’re the one person who’s ever matched me—step for step, word for word, bet for bet. And you’ve already made me better. So if this is a lifetime thing… I promise to stay cocky enough for both of us, but humble enough to know how damn lucky I am.”
They kissed to the sound of waves crashing and cameras clicking.
Reception – Converted Barn by the Shore
The reception wasn’t lavish. That wasn’t them.
It was honest. Wooden beams, lantern lights, wildflowers in mason jars, ribs and cornbread for dinner. People laughed, danced, clinked glasses.
Coyote gave the speech.
“Jake Seresin has always been a high-flier, but no matter how fast or far he went, he started circling something. Claire. You brought him back to earth—and made him want to stay there.”
Their first dance was to a soft country ballad that only they recognized.
They didn’t say a word during it. Just held each other tightly.
Late Evening – Just Before the Storm
As the sun disappeared behind the cliffs, Jake and Claire wandered down the shore barefoot, drinks in hand.
Claire leaned against him. “I have a weird feeling.”
“Cold feet?” he teased.
“No,” she said seriously. “Like something’s coming. Change. Orders maybe.”
Jake nodded. “If they call me back...”
Claire stopped him. “You’ll go. You should. But promise me something.”
He turned. “Anything.”
“When it’s done, you come back. No games. No hero moves. Just you.”
He kissed her forehead.
“Copy that, Ground

His manner was invariably self-deprecatory. Ruthless? He waited like a hunched schoolboy to be introduced on the platforms and hinterland courthouse steps. And when he spoke, it was always tentatively, modestly and with deadpan jokes that turned on himself... The light touch was only one element in the Kennedy strategy. Far more than his sense of humor, he relied on the use of his body as a pop icon to be paraded through the streets on the rear deck of a convertible, up for grabs by the faithful. And grab and claw and scratch and squeal they did — especially the young, black and white. He seemed neither gratified nor frightened by their atavistic fervor; no Rocky-style “Hiya fellas” escaped his pinched lips; his hand was a limp mackerel in their grasp. In the midst of the maelstrom, he seemed curiously dissociated from the emotions he could unleash, leaving the crowds little of himself but the cufflinks they snatched and the autographs he mechanically scribbled.

THE BOB'S BURGERS MOVIE (2022) REWATCH
What would a horror blog post on April Fools Day but an animated family comedy musical? Exactly, The Bob’s Burgers Movie is a horror movie (for kids)! That is right ladies and gentleman and everything in between, this movie has it all: murder, thrills, chills, and spills! Seriously though there are parts in there that made me uncomfortable, I’m talking As Above, So Below uncomfortable. I’m talking The Descent uncomfortable. This movie has its scary-ish/thrilling parts that remind me of the end of Child’s Play 3 but better and is way worth the watch.
⭐⭐⭐.5
Bob and his family of five (5) are trying their best to keep their burger joint up and running but the movie starts out with the bank rejecting their loan proposal and giving them only a few days until they owe all this money. This is very overwhelming for parents Bob and Linda who are trying to see the bright side of things when a giant sinkhole opens right in front of their restaurant. The kids, Tina, Gene, and Louise, are each having their own problems which will be addressed throughout the movie but Louise is having problems with a classmate calling her a baby due to her always wearing a pink, bunny-eared hat. To prove she is brave Louise decides to go down into the sinkhole because, “babies come out of holes, they don’t go into them.” But what she finds is the skeletal remains of a body! Yikes! Even some of the teeth fall into her mouth! Yuck! This is how she is able to pocket a weird looking tooth from our victim who we later learn was a carny named Cotton Candy Dan.
We find out in this movie that Louise was given her ears in preschool to help her be brave and she has been wearing them since. Tina is afraid of asking her love interest Jimmy Jr. to be her summer boyfriend and Gene is nervous about his music never taking off. All this is going on while the body is being examined and Bob and Linda ask their landlord, Mr. Fishoeder, for an extension on the rent. Mr. Fishoeder is there with his brother, Felix, and cousin, Grover, and Mr. Fishoeder says maybe to the rent extension but later that night it turns out Mr. Calvin Fishoeder is the prime suspect for this murder! Dun dun dun! Linda tries to give Bob a pep talk but she just punches him in the nuts twice. Louise comes up with a plan to skip school and figure out how Mr. Fishoeder is innocent so their folks can get the rent extension and therefore save the restaurant.
First they go to Carny-oppolis which is where the carnies live, it is kind of scary for three (3) kids to go all alone! But they meet up with their adult friend Mickey who sings them a song and then a scary carny gives them some tips about the night of the murder. They kids have to go to the police who they know personally to try and get the heat taken off of Mr. Fishoeder which only works to give them more reason to go try and figure out the case for themselves so next they go to Felix’s treehouse home to try and find a cufflink that is linked to the murder. While there, Felix comes home and the kids are almost caught! Ah! But they find out that Felix and his old girlfriend, Fanny, are back together and are going to flee the country. Scandalous! The kids follow Felix to Wonder Wharf to try and figure out where all of this is going to go down.
They follow Felix to a secret clubhouse underneath one of the rides at Wonder Wharf and Mr. Fishoeder meets him there, they want to tell him (Mr. Fishoeder) that his brother is a killer! Grover also shows up so Louise tries to talk to him since he is the lawyer but the boys are adamant on fleeing the country in a converted ride submarine (ha). Louise sees a picture of Grover wearing the cufflink that is linked to the murder and also sees a bite on his arm with the tooth mark of the guy whose tooth Louise still has. Grover realizes that Louise knows he killed Cotton Candy Dan, grabs a spear gun and points it at them all which is very scary! He takes away Felix and Mr. Fishoeders phones (the kids don’t have phones) then holds them all hostage!
Bob and Linda were doing a side plot where they were trying to sell burgers on the Wharf and weren’t having a very successful time at doing it, they even had Teddy helping but it wasn’t working! This somehow leads them to the kids, they find them but cannot actually help them, they become hostages too. With a clever move, Tina is able to get the family out of immediate danger but only for a moment, they are able to get to the under pier where Grover crawls to chase them (after he sinks his cousins) and this is one of the most terrifying things I think I’ve seen animated in a comedy, Grover crawling. He spiders his way into the under pier with the Belcher family and they get into separate carts respectively and begin racing throughout the maze of stored things in the under pier.
After a nice chase sequence they make it to the beach which messes up the Belcher family’s cart and makes it so it won’t open back up for them. Grover shoves them into the sinkhole in front of their restaurant! This is when things get really scary because Grover starts to push the pile of loose dirt onto the Belchers cart and soon they are completely covered. This is pretty horrifying to behold! They are beginning to pant as they speak, they are running out of air in there. There is a chance that our beloved Belchers could actually die! They are talking to each other like it might be their last time to speak to each other. We learn that Louise was actually gifted her pink hat in preschool for being so brave and it reminds Bob of his Mother because she used to wear a pink hat. This makes Louise feel better other than the part where they are going to die maybe. Luckily Grover shot out one of the tires so the metal was exposed and they were able to break into the waterline because it was made out of plastic so it burst and lifted them out of the hole!
Once they are out of the hole, Teddy helps get them out of their cart with a piece of the burger cart from the side plot. But oh, no! They have to hurry to save the Fishoeders and stop Grover from burning down the Mole Hill ride! They run to the ride and when they get there Grover has filled it with highly flammable stuffed animals and there is a long fuse that is burning. Louise and Bob both take different paths to try and get to the lit fuse the quickest. Time is running out but just in time Louise gets to the fuse! They are able to save the Fishoeders and have the cops arrest Grover. All's well that ends well. Gene has his concert and is feeling good about his music, Louise feels confident with or without her ears, and Tina kisses Jimmy Jr. The family has a grand re-re-re-re-opening of the shop because the Fishoeder’s gave them enough cash to cover their bills and the street is finally put back together.

PinLearn how to wear cufflinks. How to wear cufflinks is a question that comes up when elevating formal or business attire, even though they aren’t a common everyday choice. Once a necessity in menswear, cufflinks have transitioned into a statement accessory, worn for occasions that demand a sharper look. The history of cufflinks dates back to the 17th century, when they replaced ribbon-tied cuffs with metal fasteners, evolving into symbols of refinement and status. At their core, cufflinks work by securing the cuffs of dress shirts with a fastening mechanism that replaces buttons. How to Wear Cufflinks PinPhoto: Potiega Whether crafted from polished metals, featuring intricate designs, or customized as personalized cufflinks, they serve both a functional and decorative purpose. Understanding how to wear cufflinks properly ensures they enhance an outfit rather than feeling out of place. What Are Cufflinks & How Do They Work? PinPhoto: Unsplash Cufflinks are decorative fasteners designed to secure the cuffs of dress shirts, serving as a stylish alternative to buttons. Unlike standard shirt closures, which are sewn in place, cufflinks operate with a mechanism that slides through the cuff’s buttonholes, fastening the fabric together. The most common design features a post and toggle system, where the toggle swivels to lock the cufflink in place. Other styles, such as chain links, studs, and snap closures, offer variations in functionality and aesthetics. Whether simple or ornate, cufflinks work by reinforcing double cuffs—also known as French cuffs—while adding a refined touch to formal wear. Types of Cufflinks PinPhoto: Deposit Photos Cufflinks come in a variety of styles, each offering a distinct fastening mechanism and aesthetic. The most common type is the bullet back cufflink, which features a rotating toggle for easy securing. PinPhoto: Deposit Photos Whale back cufflinks function similarly but have a larger, flat post. For a more traditional approach, chain link cufflinks connect the cuffs with a flexible chain, allowing a looser fit, while stud cufflinks offer a rigid, minimal design often seen in formal wear. Knot cufflinks, typically made of silk or cord, provide a casual alternative, while personalized cufflinks add a custom element, often engraved with initials or symbols. Shirts That Require Cufflinks PinPhoto: Jonathan Francisca / Unsplash Not all dress shirts accommodate cufflinks, as most come with standard buttoned cuffs. The most recognizable style that requires them is the French cuff shirt, designed with extra-long cuffs that fold back and fasten with cufflinks instead of buttons. This style is a staple for formal occasions, often paired with tuxedos and tailored suits. Some dress shirts feature convertible cuffs, offering the flexibility of buttoning the cuffs traditionally or securing them with cufflinks through a dual-purpose buttonhole. While barrel cuffs typically use buttons, some bespoke or modified designs may allow for cufflinks, depending on the placement of the buttonholes. How to Put On Cufflinks PinPhoto: Deposit Photos Fastening cufflinks is a simple process, but the method varies depending on the style. For bullet back cufflinks, the most common type, start by folding back the cuffs of a French cuff or convertible cuff shirt so that the buttonholes align. Insert the cufflink’s post through both holes, then swivel the bullet-shaped toggle to secure it in place. Other designs follow a similar principle. Chain link cufflinks require threading both ends through the buttonholes, leaving the decorative face visible. Stud cufflinks work by pushing the fixed post through the fabric, locking in place without a moving mechanism. When to Wear Cufflinks PinPhoto: Anastasia Nagibina / Pexels Cufflinks are most commonly worn for formal and business occasions, but they can also add flair to less traditional settings. When to wear cufflinks depends on the event, dress code, and personal style. For formal occasions, such as black-tie events, weddings, and galas, cufflinks are recommended. They pair with tuxedos and French cuff shirts, often in classic materials like gold, silver, or onyx. PinPhoto: Michael Morse / Pexels In business settings, cufflinks elevate a suit, particularly in industries where sharp tailoring is expected. Simple designs in polished metals or engraved finishes work best for meetings and corporate functions. Outside these settings, cufflinks can be a stylish addition to semiformal and creative outfits. Personalized or novelty cufflinks can add character without looking out of place, especially when paired with a well-fitted blazer and dress shirt. How to Wear Cufflinks with a Suit PinPhoto: Deposit Photos Pairing cufflinks with a suit adds a polished touch, whether for business or formal occasions. In professional settings, suit cufflinks should be understated—think classic silver, gold, or subtle engraved designs that complement a dress shirt and tie. For black-tie events, how to wear cufflinks with a suit follows a more traditional path. A French cuff shirt, tuxedo, and a well-chosen pair of cufflinks—such as studs or mother-of-pearl designs—create a seamless formal ensemble. Meanwhile, personalized or novelty cufflinks allow for more character in creative industries or less rigid dress codes. Do Men Still Wear Cufflinks? PinPhoto: Deposit Photos Cufflinks may not be an everyday essential, but they still hold a place in modern menswear. While buttons dominate most dress shirts, cufflinks remain a staple for formal wear, business settings, and personal style statements. Their role has shifted from necessity to a conscious choice, worn by those who appreciate detail and craftsmanship. Whether in a black-tie setting, a corporate boardroom, or as a way to personalize an outfit, cufflinks continue to offer a refined touch. The appeal lies in their versatility—classic metals suit traditional occasions, while personalized cufflinks allow for subtle individuality. Understanding how to wear cufflinks ensures they enhance an outfit rather than feel outdated. With styles ranging from timeless designs to modern interpretations, cufflinks remain relevant, proving that even the smallest details can leave a lasting impression. Source link

Source link

The White Sweater
My cell phone buzzed today with a text message announcing that my dad’s Rx was ready for pickup. “Type stop to cancel”, it politely mentioned, as if the only reason to do so would be my annoyance at notification overload. I suppose I should let them know he’s gone. Best to wait until my next trip in for groceries to tell them that Karl will not be needing anything further from the pharmacy? Or would a call suffice?
A few days ago, after a circuitous route through too many voicemail prompts, I finally reached a woman in customer service at Spectrum and explained I needed to cancel my elderly father’s cable tv service and landline phone. Reading from her script, she walked me through some prompts and offers aimed at keeping me from my goal, finally asking, “Has he moved to another place? We could transfer his account”. I said gently, “Yes, he moved.he moved to heaven”. She dropped the script from there, and was quite kind going forward. We worked it out.
I have found in my car and my nightstand drawer and on my library table, hospital release reports, receipts, and medical reminders - all important records - now unnecessary, irrelevant, moot. They serve no purpose but to remind us of a difficult few months. Tossing them in a wastebasket felt like a kind of betrayal.
Even the weather seems to have given up since he’s gone. Mother nature has howled in angst, with biting winter winds and harsh, mocking temperatures. This morning registered 8 degrees F. It’s as if Karl’s spirit itself was a finger in the dyke, holding forth for all of us against her impassive, fierce discipline.
Joan Didion wrote beautifully of the mild insanities that can follow in the wake of losing a loved one. In The Year of Magical Thinking (Knopf, 2005) she describes removing her husband’s items from their closet, but holding on to a pair of nice shoes because he might still need them. My experience is less dramatic, but the myriad questions of what is a keepsake is daunting. As if the world doesn’t yet appreciate what I know; that Karl Wojahn’s Oregon State University sweater might fit me someday and I’d proudly wear it out somewhere fun. Or that there’s value in the monogrammed brown faux leather jewelry case which holds his fifties-era tie clasps and jade cufflinks from Hong Kong, or his beautiful Navy service pin.
In the last year, as my father slipped into the confusion of dementia, there was little thought paid to the long term, the legacy. We were focused on the day to day. He stopped wanting to go out for breakfast to his favorite pancake house. He quit reading. Eventually he even stopped telling stories from his childhood, a quiver of twenty or so colorful reminders of how far he’d come, from a house with no indoor plumbing on the destitute plains of Eastern Montana, to a college graduate with a bright future and enough funds to buy his own convertible.
A friend observed that none of us will be remembered personally by more than two generations that follow. It’s unrealistic to expect my father’s life and memory to be shared by more than a few who knew him. He lived to be 97, after all. But perhaps the sight of his early 50s white knit sweater with the OSU beaver logo will open up a beautiful conversation someday, if I can ever fit into it.

summary : jake loves weddings. you hate them. shared revelations might just change your opinion
warnings - 18+, fem!reader, established relationship, FLUFF. so much fluff. not beta'd,
notes — happy valentine's day! here is a sickly sweet one for @roosterforme's 'love is in the air' challenge. like, so sweet.
Jake loved weddings. He always enjoyed a good reason to dress up, hair gelled just right and cufflinks perfectly in place. If he happened to be in Texas he’d have on his favorite pair of boots and a bolo tie. He loved dancing at the receptions. It didn’t matter if there was a live band or a DJ, Jake was always out on the dance floor. This was especially if there was line dancing involved. Then there was the cake. Jake’s one weakness in life was wedding cake. He could turn down any cookie, pie, or ice cream cone shoved in his face…But wedding cake? There was no holding him back…Except today, at this wedding, he could only focus on one thing. You.
You were sitting at a table that was right off the dancefloor. One shapely leg was thrown over the other, peeking out of the slit of your burgundy bridesmaid dress. Your bare foot was bouncing to the music and your eyes were trained on the bride and groom who were sharing their first dance. Jake’s eyes traveled quickly to Javy and his new wife, his childhood sweetheart, Leah, as they swayed to the rhythm. They did not care that over one hundred people were staring them down. The only thing capturing their attention was their partner. Jake only looked at them for a moment longer before letting his gaze drift back to you. His eyes were drawn to how soft and bright your skin looked. You looked soft and supple. He wanted to glide his hands over your bare shoulders and down your back. You were radiant...Like the sun. And he wanted to put that shit in a bottle and tuck it in his pocket.
God. You were so fucking beautiful.
Funnily enough the two of you met at another wedding months ago. One of Javy’s and Leah’s friends from their youth was getting married and Leah was a part of the bridal party. Javy didn’t want to be alone and knowing that Jake was down to crash any wedding, brought the blond along. Jake wished he could say that he noticed you the moment you walked into the large event space. He wished he could tell you that he’d gotten tunnel vision when he saw you walking towards him. Wished that he could drone on and on to his future grandchildren about how the moment your eyes met his, he knew you were the one.
No. That didn’t happen. In fact, you were late to the ceremony and snuck in next to Javy. Javy’s body shook with laughter as you raised your hand in an awkward wave, cringing. Seconds later the ceremony started and his attention turned from you to the ceremony. He actually forgot that you were there until the ceremony was over and Javy was introducing you both. As you both sipped on drinks of your choice while the event space was being converted for the reception, the topic of work. You were extremely uninterested in the fact that he was a naval aviator. He attributed that to you knowing Javy for so long, but it did stump him a little bit.
As he talked with you, he found himself trying to impress you. He wanted to make you smile, to make you laugh. He wanted to see you after this. It was different than it normally was. Typically when he left weddings he was going back to some hotel room with a girl on his arm and a pleasant buzz, and was gone by the next morning. You, though? You left before they even served the wedding cake, mentioning something about it getting late after looking at the delicate gold watch on your wrist. Jake did not understand. How could someone leave before having at least one slice of cake?
In the moments it took for him to try and wrap his head around that unfathomable act, you’d made it to the parking lot. It only took a few moments for the blond to catch up to you, yelling your name and waving his hand to grab your attention. Standing by your compact SUV, he all but begged for your number. He could tell by the way you bit your bottom lip that you weren’t entirely sure about him. He was willing to let you go, but just as quick as you decided to leave, you also decided to give him a chance. Numbers were exchanged and drinks were planned.
Five months later led you to where you were today; you happily watching your friends on the dance floor and Jake longingly watching you. The song the band was currently playing transitioned into another. This song had a slightly peppier sound, but still had a slow rhythm.
“The bride and groom would love to invite you to grab a partner and join them on the dance floor!” The lead singer announced before they began singing.
Jake made his way over to you, dodging people who were now walking around. Some were headed to the dancefloor, while others looked to be grabbing sweet snacks or drinks. There were some older couples that chose to stay seated, enjoying the sight of young love. Your eyes were still on your friends, but now your body was beginning to sway with the new song. Jake thought that was good, because it meant it would not take much convincing to get you out on the dance floor. As Jake walked closer, he watched your eyes move from Javy and Leah, to him. Your smile widened and his heart stuttered.
__
You hated weddings. They were expensive and uncomfortable. The wedding industry was practically a crime against humanity and you could think of a million different things that could be purchased for the cost of a wedding. The food was never good and the wedding cake was always bland and usually dry. The only thing you could slightly be on board with were weddings that had an open bar. Leah was one of your childhood friends and it was only because you loved her and valued her friendship that you adopted the motto grin and bear it when you accepted the offer to be a bridesmaid. It also helped that Jake was just as much of this process as you were.
He was the exact opposite of you. The man adored any reason to celebrate, weddings included. In moments he knew you were overwhelmed or just completely done with all the pomp and circumstance, he would always find a way to put a little joy in your heart. A wink here, a flirty touch there. Your boyfriend almost made you forget that you hated weddings.
“M’lady,” He asked, appearing behind you. You looked over your shoulder and basked in the beauty of the man in his dress whites. While he was far from the only one dressed in his military regalia, he was most certainly the best looking. Your gut filled with anticipation for what was going to come after the wedding. “Can I have this dance?” You lifted your finger to your chin, tapping it as though you were deep in contemplation.
“I’m sorry, but I-” Jake didn’t let you finish your joke. He grabbed your free hand which was draped over your chair and pulled you up. It was clear the dance floor was his destination.
Other couples were swaying around the tiled door. You caught Leah’s eye and she smiled at you. Your friend looked beyond happy and incredibly in love. You were happy for her and Javy and wished them nothing but the best. Jake pulled you close as you took your spot near your friends. One hand was heavy on your hip, the other grasping one of yours. He held it close to his heart, letting both your hands rest on his chest.
“Have I told you how beautiful you look today?” He remarked.
“Hmmm, maybe once or twice.” It was more than that. All throughout wedding party pictures he kept whispering compliments and promises in your ear. He made you feel like the most beautiful creature to have walked the earth. You could feel the rumble of a chuckle under the back of your hand.
“Anyone ever mention how funny you are?” It was now your turn to laugh. Jake’s only response was to shake his head. He got quiet for a moment, before asking another question. “Do you want to get married?” The question took you off guard, causing you to step on Jake’s toes.
“Are you proposing?” You hoped he couldn’t hear the nerves in your voice. The two of you had not talked about the future, completely fine to move at the snail's pace you’d been at.
“No, not at all.” Jake shook his head. “I just meant in general. Do you want to get married?” Was this really the time? Your heart was beating heavily against your chest. It wouldn’t be surprising if Jake could feel it.
“Do you want to get married?” Was your coy response.
“Don’t deflect. It’s a simple question.” Jake was an arrogant guy. It was one of the first things you noticed about him. He typically spoke with a teasing tone, but there was no hint of it now. He was serious.
“Married to you or just married?” You matched his tone. This time you weren’t being playful and you needed this clarification before you gave yours.
“Married to me.”
“Yes.” There was no hesitation, but the words left your mouth without permission. Part of you was scared that your feelings about the future wouldn’t be reciprocated. “Do you want to get married to me?” It was his turn for honesty, but as your eyes roamed over his face you knew your mind could not prepare you for his answer.
“I want everything with you, Darlin’.”
“Jake…” His name was no more than a whisper on your lips.
“I’m sorry if that is too early or if that scares you , but it’s the truth. I want marriage, yes, but I want you to meet my family. I want to make a family. I want a dog and a house. I want someone to come home at the end of hard days and long deployments. I want everything.” The only way you knew how to react was physically. As your lips met his, you didn’t have a single care about all the people around you.
“I love you.”
“I know, who doesn’t?” Your eyes narrowed and you pinched his hip. He playfully yelped. “Did I say that? I meant to say that I love you too.”
Maybe weddings weren’t so bad, after all.

SteveTony Weekly - November 5th
Welcome back! I didn’t read as much as I wanted this week, but there’s some delicious stories here.
***Marks my recent favorites
~*~
An Obeisance to Faults by drifloon
When Tony was little, he hated Cap because he stole Howard’s attention and affection. Captain America was gone, even Tony knew that, but he was right here—dad, don’t you see?
Cap became the standard Howard held him to, and that was the source of Tony’s resentment as he grew older, but eventually—
Eventually, he hated Cap because he looked at Steve Rogers and found himself lacking.
I adore when Tony’s self loathing comes out as aggression towards Steve until he figures out WHY he’s being so dumb.
in another life (you and i) by isozyme for Kiyaar
It’s a man, half-clad in silver armor. His face is covered by an angular mask, eyes glowing blue slits. The suit is a sick frankenstein of Captain America and Iron Man. Tony raises his palms, readying a repulsor blast.
The man opposite him raises a red-gloved hand which, like a terrible mirror, bears an identical repulsor.
The Civil Warrior makes it to Earth-616 six months too late.
This is so sad. Lovely and so sad.
moonlit horizons by msermesth
Tony doesn't believe in magic, but that hasn't stopped Timely's latest visitor from making him an offer he won't refuse.
Ironsides by copperbadge
Antonia Carter Stark takes no shit and no prisoners.
I love this whole fic--female Tony fic is hard to do well and still hit the right note on personality and this is just--flawless.
I'm in the habit of having what I don't want by wobblyheadeddollcaper
Toni Stark, unstoppable force, meets Steve Rogers, immovable object. It's not love at first sight.
"She'd been prepared to like Bruce since she'd first read his scientific papers. It's a pleasant surprise to find out Clint's been hiding a deadpan sense of humour. Natasha – well, she'd always had a thing for wickedly competent redheads in impractical shoes (see Potts, Pepper) so that works. Thor is just really fucking fun. Captain Steve Rogers is... not."
Another female!Toni fic that’s just super well done--I especially love the relationship between Toni and Natasha.
Love in every word you say by AkikoFumi
Steve makes a very precious discovery: Tony blushes at almost everything he does or says to him.
So soft and fluffy.
Brinkmanship by Mollyamory (Molly), Speranza
Robots from the future appear, but only Steve can see them. They thank him for their creation. Then Tony starts seeing them.
I love the playing with time and the way Tony and Steve are brought together.
your tender touch by Perlmutt
After the battle against the Chitauri, Tony comes crashing into Steve's life, wonderful and amazing Tony, and Steve falls for him so hard that he can't put it into words.
And Steve feels like a mammoth in the wrong century. It's up to Tony to show him how wonderful love looks on him
Speak Now by iam93percentstardust
Don't say yes, run away now
I'll meet you when you're out of the church at the back door
Don't wait, or say a single vow
Your time is running out, and they said, "Speak now"
~
“You don’t have to do this,” he says, reluctantly passing Steve his cufflinks when he holds his hand out for them.
“I know, Tony,” Steve sighs, his refrain as old as Tony’s by this point. “You’ve said that before.”
“And I mean it! It’s not too late to turn around and run away. I’ll meet you at the back of the church; we can take the limo, leave Bucky that ridiculous convertible. You don’t have to do this.”
I am a huge sucker for song fic and this was so we done.
The Center Of My Universe by KandiSheek
Steve and Tony get hit with a spell that makes them each other's center of gravity. And not in the fun way.
Whoever came up with this curse has a prime spot on Tony's shit list for at least the next decade.
Fresh Start by Annie D (scaramouche)
Everyone can see that Tony and Steve like each other, yet Tony inexplicably turned Steve down. Tony has his reasons, though.
sweet nothing by ohjustpeachy
He would happily spend the rest of his life being surprised by the quiet kindness of Steve Rogers, by the way he gives love in a thousand small, perfect ways every single day, seemingly without a second thought, the kind of love Tony never imagined himself deserving of.
Or, 5 times Tony was caught off guard by his perfect boyfriend.
Steve Rogers Versus The Multiverse by copperbadge
Agent Steve Rogers, callsign Nomad, has been pushed through a dimensional wall. Fortunately there are a couple of Tonys to set things right...
Knock You Down A Peg by KandiSheek
Steve couldn't be happier with his relationship, but he does sometimes miss the feeling of getting fucked. Toni takes it upon herself to blow his mind with a strap-on.
running home (to your sweet nothings) by himboplantdad
i am so sorry for this (no i'm not).
stay tuned for more tswift lyric-based fics because midnights has me in a CHOKEHOLD
I love this fic. I just. Song fics have my whole heart.
the symphony played when you told me your name by meidui
Tony returns the stones and goes back in time.
The day he goes toe to toe with Steve on the Helicarrier. No, that's too late. The night he lands in a flash of red and gold next to Steve in Germany—no, earlier, earlier. One of the many days Steve wanders down the streets of New York carrying his insurmountable grief, sits alone in his apartment with the shutters drawn as he watches old videos and pages through old personnel files— No, no. Earlier.
The day they pull Steve out of the Arctic.
all that you ever wanted from me (was sweet nothing) by meidui
Steve's not sure he’s ready to hear it from Tony, the same things his ex used to tell him. He’s twenty-four now and he still hasn’t outgrown the kid who dragged his body out of bed at dawn and worked himself to the bones to afford a seat inside a studio classroom.
Tony won’t want to be with that kid.
It's so soft.

The house screams as they speed down the driveway, a terrible screeching cacophony of wood and stone and brick. Ana doesn’t twist to look at it or even glance at it in the rearview mirror, too worried about Anthony’s slight weight in her lap and his still closed eyes, but Edwin does.
“Goddess above,” he whispers horrified.
As they pass through the gate, something booms behind them. A magical wave slams into them a moment later, sending the car lurching forward. Ana can’t resist twisting in her seat this time, watching as golden wards spring up around the grounds. They shimmer and sparkle for a few seconds before fading from view, sealing Rosewood Manor off from the outside world.
Forever.

Tony has been on the run from his past for over twenty years. He's finally settled down in the small town of Ravenspoint with his husband, Bucky, and his flower shop. When his parents come to town, intent on finding him, Tony finds himself on the run again. But Howard Stark is determined to hunt him down, and the lengths he'll go to to find him are... horrifying.

“Captain Rogers, this is my sub, Maria,” Howard managed through a strangled voice. “And my son—”
“I’m Tony,” YouKnowWhoIAm said, boldly sticking his hand out for Steve to shake. He took it, automatically raising it to his lips to kiss, the way he’d been taught to greet unattached subs as a child. It had fallen out of fashion while Steve was in the ice, and he’d mostly trained himself out of the impulse, but he just couldn’t resist when he saw Tony.

Panic. Screaming. Wind. Noise. Fear. Tense breathing. More screaming. More panic.
“Hold on!” Graham shouted over the monstrous amount of noise. Ryan found a panel and somehow managed to fly the plane on his phone. You were too shaken to understand. O. The plane was finally level. The Master. You were shaking. Nothing really sunk in. You blinked and you were helped off the plane by the worried trio. You snuck past the guards as Barton spoke to someone official looking. You were in Essex according to Ryan, and now that you were off the plane things had finally begun to fall into place within your mind. You were being stared at by everyone.
“It’s hard not to stand out, when we look like this,” Ryan groaned frustrated at the suit
“We’ve just been on a night out and we’re going home, that’s all,” Yaz reassured a soothing voice trying to calm you all down. Your phone went off, as did the others. Cautiously you answered it. Barton. “Hello, friends. What, did you think I wouldn't be able to track you? We have your numbers, e-mails, GPS. I even know how many more stamps you need for a free coffee. So close, Ryan. Or should I say Logan? Look up.” You did as he said. On a screen above you all your faces were displayed, claiming you were dangerous. More cursing. “Your passports have been revoked, bank accounts frozen,” Barton continued “We have a record of everyone you know - friends, family, colleagues, everyone you ever followed on social media. Of course, we have cameras everywhere, and now you're wanted for hijacking. Go off the grid see how long you’ll last,”
In a panic, Ryan smashed his phone, Yaz attempted to call her mum and Graham froze. “Oh and Yazmin is attempting to call her mum, how sweet,” He spat sarcastically. Yaz had rambled into the phone briefly for a second before Ryan grabbed the phone and stomped on it, he did the same with your phone and Graham’s. Then you ran.
You had finally settled on a building estate, hours late. Bones aching, out of breath and tired.
“No CCTV we should be safe for now,” Graham said, clearly weary from the day. You filled into a half built house. You took a seat on a sort of wall as did the others
“How do we know we can trust you?” Ryan asked suddenly “We don’t know you. The Doctor trusted O, and he betrayed us, how do we know you won’t?”
“You don’t.” You replied shortly “I’m an outsider. You’ve seen me what? Twice before today? Three times because one of them hasn’t happened to me yet. You don’t know you can trust me. But you have to. If I wanted to turn on you, if I had malicious intent I would have ran off with the master, but I didn’t.”
“Who are you really? O said you were a missing person,” Yaz asked inner police woman jumping forward
“I am. Technically. I was recruited by people I know very little about to do a job, told me it was important so I took the role. Wiped me from my old life, gave me a new one,” “How come the Doctor didn’t recognise that person? Surely you would recognise someone like that?”
“Their species, they have a way of cheating death, burn up every cell in their body, change their face and who they are. The Doctor used to be a man, we have 12 other faces on file. The master also can do that, same species same thing,”
“Who was he?”
“Well, do you remember Harold Saxon? That used to be him,”
“What- I voted for him!” Graham exclaimed
You examined the looks on their faces, “You want to know about my future don’t you, you want to put the pieces together, but she’s said you can’t tell me. One question won’t kill me,”
“You mentioned you were going to die on another planet? How would you know something like that?” Yaz wondered
“This, this interaction. Time isn’t linear. It’s more a big lump, as time travellers, we jump in and out at various points, things aren’t linear things can be changed and rewritten. Surely she told you that?”
“She doesn’t exactly tell us a lot. Who are you to her really?”
“I’m no one important, I think, I don’t know. I get pieces in passing. A bit like a conversation you aren’t a part of yet, just occasional whispers. Her late wife visited me once, and told me to keep track of everything. Keep journals and notes, telling me it would help make things easier, clearer. She was in a similar position, they met when she died and they kept meeting, bumping into each other, in the wrong order, fell in love, nearly destroyed the universe,” You explained “The doctor trusts me and I trust the doctor. Good enough for me. Also we went on a date,”
“Since we’re admitting things, I stole some of the gadgets from MI6, I’m wearing the laser shoes. Before you ask, no I didn’t read the instructions,” Graham laughed
“I took the rocket cufflinks too,” Ryan smiled
“You utter doughnuts, all of you. But there’s no one I’d rather be on the run with,” Graham turned to you “Even you, you seem to know a lot and I trust you. You’re on the same wavelength as the Doctor and that’s good enough for me.”
“Did you hear that?” There was a noise, and light. Kasaavin. You stepped out the building one by one.
“The shoe, use the shoe,” Ryan urged
“What?”
“Just stomp or something!” Graham did. A bolt hit a nearby streetlight.
“Your aim is terrible,”
“Graham, just dance.” He did and a few bolts hit the figures. You grabbed the others hands and ran.
The sun was coming up, you hadn’t slept for about 36 hours and whilst Yaz made a phone call, you and Ryan leant against each other in a desperate attempt to stay awake. She hung up suddenly as a car pulled up. Men stepped out, threatening you. Graham came up behind them and waved his laser shoe dramatically
“-and don’t make me do the soft-shoe shuffle!” He stated over dramatically, as you got into the car. You had decided to drive
“Are you sure you’re going to be safe? Driving, I mean, 36 hours is a lot-” Yaz began cautiously
“I’ll be fine. I once stayed a awake for a week on some planet so I could do my job, and the days were 25 hours, this is nothing,” You joked
“Can we go to the institute? Surely they’ll keep us safe?”
“No, they won’t. Anything linked to present day criminal activity immediately gets you dropped. We deal with time, you so much as breathe wrong you’re dropped,” You explained, “We have to follow their GPS.” You sped off
The hanger was cold and empty. There was a single figure on a chair along with a stand and a screen, you rushed to it.
“Is she still?” Ryan asked, not wanting to say the word. You checked for a pulse, she was cold. You shook your head, “No she isn’t. She hasn’t been for a while, a few hours, at most, I think.” Barton appeared on the screen.
“Well done overpowering my people. But did you really think they wouldn't tell me? I have a significant announcement to make, and you, my friends, are two steps behind. As usual,” He mocked
“So what are you? Part alien or something?” Graham asked
“You really don't understand who I am. I build things. I test them. So I let them test a tiny part of me. And now it's time for the global roll-out. I'm proof of concept,”
“As the head of the Bad Wolf institute, I have to ask, what are you testing? Why don’t you stop with the theatrics and murder? Make my job the tiniest bit easier,” You asked, temper flaring
“Look after my mum.” The call ended. You went to hit the screen and decided against instead choosing to make a loud noise.
“He killed his own mum,” Yaz breathed
“And abandoned her, in a hanger, to rot,” You stated, formal tone back. The screen came on once again, this time to an image of Barton giving a talk.
“-We told you, of course your lives are private, of course your data's safe. And you believed us. You kept clicking Agree. And now, we can do anything. I can send a text to every device on this planet.”
“Something doesn’t make sense, I’m missing something, I’m being stupid. God why does lack of sleep does this,” You grumbled. A message flashed up on the screen. Humanity is over, you have three minutes to prepare. The statue started spinning.
“Funny, right? Except, not a joke. We are way past peak human. We've created systems that are smarter and can run more efficiently than we do. So what's our purpose? We must be useful for something. Well, the data tells us we are. We can repurpose. Well, you all can. You know the most efficient type of hard drives on Planet Earth? Humans. Human DNA can store so much data. We're the perfect storage system, which means there are over seven billion potentially incredibly useful hard drives on this planet. All that's needed is to reformat the whole of humanity. Luckily, there's an app for that.” Barton chuckled, tone sinister.
The room was filled with light. The Kasaavin. The hangar door swung open. The master.
“Move away. Now! I've just had the most infuriating seventy seven years of my life. Have you any idea how hard it is to live through the 20th century? The places I've escaped from. Still, just in time to watch you all pay.” He grumbled, he looked aggressive like a wolf ready to attack.
“What is it? What the hell is that thing?” You asked, barely giving the others time to react
“Back with us I see? Aw shock was good look on you, shame the Doctor won’t get to see more of it,” He snarled “ If you must know, dear, it converts and transmits. We're transmitting Kasaavin energy around the world all at once into every device, hitting every human being and erasing all their DNA simultaneously. And it’s beautiful.” The energy grabbed Yaz, she couldn’t let go, you tried to pull her off, it wouldn’t move, she couldn’t budge.
“No use. It’ll take her, then you then you, and finally Miss Institute herself, a shame.” The machine stopped suddenly, the figures vanished.
“You were saying?” You replied smugly
“Sorry. I’ll admit I was close,” The doctor. Relief washed over you. She entered the hangar followed by two other women.
“Two can play at embedding things in history. I knew the Silver Lady was important, and that you built it for a reason, but I couldn't work out why. So I traced its movements through history. And when I saw that Barton now owned it, we stopped by his office. Middle of last year, using your Tardis, I built a fail-safe into that machine. Planted a virus. If it ever detected the massing of a Kasaavin army within its systems - total shutdown,” She explained. The room glowed again, circling everyone.
“Well Doctor, looks like you’re going to have to explain everything to them,”
“Look, I’ve rigged the Silver lady to send you back your own dimension. And that deal he made with you?” She pulled out her sonic and played a audio clip
‘Barton and these creatures do the dirty work, and once they're done, I get rid of them, having destroyed your precious human race in the process. Win-win-win.’
“Oh,” Was all the Master could manage to say
“Yes that’s your name, don’t wear it out,” She replied before the light increased. And with that the room was empty again, “Everyone alright? Everyone safe?” A chorus of yes sounded of from the group
“Miss me?” She asked a small but beautiful smile on her face, wrapping her arm around you
“Always,” You replied pressing a small kiss to her lip
“I hate to break up a sweet moment but I have questions. Who are they? And are we being replaced?” Graham asked
“Oh these are Noor and Ada, I’m dropping them off back in their timeline, like I could ever replace any of you.”
They were dropped off back in their respective times.
“So where to now?” The doctor asked, flipping a few switches
“The institute for me, I’m afraid,” You cringed, desperately wanting to stay
“What?” She suddenly looked up staring deep into your eyes, clearly hurt.
“I have to warm them, the Master is out there, and we have to prepare. We’ve barely managed to fix everything after the issues in 2015. I do want to stay, I truly do, but it’s hard and I have to look after them,” You avoided her eyes
“It’s ok I get it. Since we’re synced I can say this, whenever we meet up synced or not we have to go on a date, because we don’t know when it’s going to happen so we might as well enjoy it,” She wandered over to where you were stood
“Like time girlfriends?” “Time girlfriends,” She nodded. You kissed her cheek, and she smiled into it, hugging you tightly.
“Miss you already,” You joked taking steps out of the TARDIS and back into your office the day that you left.
“Are you ok? You’ve been a bit distant recently,” Yaz asked, breaking the Doctor from her thoughts. It had been a few months, since they’d seen you as a group.
“I’m fine,” She replied shortly
“You miss her don’t you?” The doctor ignored the question continuing to focus on the random buttons she was fiddling with. “Look, why don’t you take us to visit your home?”
“Can’t. Shouldn’t. You’ll ask too many questions. It’s boring. Why do you think I ran?” She explained, her usual answers combining into one, “but yes I miss her,”

Ring | CEO Peter
“Kitten?” Peter called out as he stalked down the hallway towards your reading room.
He’d converted one of his guest bedrooms into a reading library for you. Stalked full of every book and title you’d ever want. It was even accompanied with it’s own desk area for you to research new authors or series.
“Mhm?” You responded when he appeared in the doorway.
You were trapped in a page turning series; Crossfire by Sylvia Day.
“Whatcha reading?” He hummed, stepping into the room and taking a seat with you on the couch in the middle of the room. He grabbed your outstretched legs, pulling them over his lap, massaging your calves.
“M’book.”
He tilted his head to the side, waiting for you to finish that thought and answer his question. Your bottom lip was trapped between your teeth as you read all about how Gideon and Eva were dealing with yet another issue in their relationship.
He waited awhile, just watching you read, watching the way your eyes scanned a page, and how you slide your finger up and down the side of the page before turning it to a fresh one. That one finger decorated with a beautiful simple ring, engraved with ‘to infinity and beyond’ on the inside. He’d given it to you a month ago, a thank you for his cufflinks. You’ve yet to take it off.
His patience was running thin though, and he reached forward, using his index finger to push the book down out of your line of sight.
“Uh!” You whined when your eyes locked with his.
“Hi, I’m Peter.” He grinned.
“Hi Peter.” You rolled your eyes.
“Oh Kitten, are you rolling your eyes?” He raised a brow.
“How may I help you Peter?” You ignored his comment, knowing how your eye rolling usually gets him in a certain mood.
“We have another business party tomorrow night, I wanted to warn you.”
“Okay.” You shrug.
“I have to fly out to LA tonight though.” He looked away afraid of your response.
“Peter it’s almost fucking 9:30, why do you need to fly out tonight?”
“I have a meeting at 5 am.” He looked back over to you. “It’s easier to fly in tonight and then fly home afterward.”
“Okay, then I guess I’ll go home.” You sat up, looking at him confused when he pushed you back by your shoulder.
“No you won’t.” He shook his head. “I know you’re safe here, and that you’ll be taken care of if needed. Stay here tonight, you’re already in pajamas and in the middle of your ‘m’book’“ He mocked you.
“Why didn’t you tell me earlier?”
“Because it was just scheduled, lose the attitude.” He warned, giving you a pointed look.
“Promise to be back on time to take me? You know how I feel about these dinner parties.”
“I promise Kitten, Shawn and Raul are traveling with me and this dinner party is a family organization. We’ll be back on time.”
**
That was a big fucking lie.
His meeting was delayed, and then Shawn’s studio time ran over, resulting in the three of them missing their flights. Which meant that they were still in the air when you needed to leave for dinner, and transferring flights when you arrived.
Peter was not in contact with you, seemingly only updating his security who then only gave you tidbits of information when you asked 5 times.
You were upset, and then being ambushed at dinner by his parents and sister didn’t make matters better.
You loved the Mendes family, they only birthed and raised the man you were in love with. The issue is, Peter’s not in love with you. You’re a convenient business transaction that ends in his pleasure. So when moments came where you were surrounded by his family, you felt the need to lie so that they wouldn’t know what your relationship truly was.
It was heartbreaking for you. To be doing this at all, he obviously doesn’t want you in the ways you want him, but at this point you’d take anything he’s willing to offer. When it ended with his and your pleasure you were able to tell yourself that it meant more to him than you thought it actually did.
“So Y/n, it’s been almost two years now for you and Peter. Any thoughts or plans for the future?” Karen asked once the dinner plates were taken away.
You just about snorted your sip of wine out your nose. Of course you wanted a future with Peter, one much deeper than where he planned to fuck you that night.
“Um no, we haven’t talked about anything.” You muttered.
“Do you not want a future with Peter?” Manny piped up, confused by your answer.
“Of course I do, I’m just not sure he does.” You cringed as you said the words, knowing they were the wrong ones to say.
“Of course he does!” Aaliyah offered.
“Of course who does?” Peter asked, swiftly sliding into the chair next to yours, while Shawn and Raul sat to your left.
“You want a future with Y/n don’t you Peter?” Karen asked, before taking a sip of her wine.
You heard Peter’s slight gasp before his smooth response, “What’s a future without a present? That’s what I’m living in, whatever happens happens.”
Not the answer you wanted to hear at all. You gave a tight lipped smile as his family nodded and agreed with his words. “Give me a moment.” You said standing and walking away from them.
Needing a moment to breathe and evaluate everything. Maybe you were completely foolish to think that going along with what Peter wanted would someday end in what you wanted. It was painful, and never going to go your way, so why were you hurting yourself?
“Kitten?”
You turned at his voice, looking at him with wide eyes and heavy breaths.
“Oh Kitten, I’m sorry if they freaked you out.” He took a few steps towards you. “They didn’t mean anything by it, you know how my mom is. We’re okay, just fine where were at. You’re doing great.”
You stared at him in awe. He thought you were freaking out because of the thought of marriage or more. When in reality you were freaking out about not ever having that with Peter.
“You amaze me.” You muttered, walking away and heading for the coat check.
“Excuse me.” He whispered as he bumped into people chasing after you. He caught your elbow as you were handing the woman your ticket slip. “Where are you going?”
“I need space.”
His eyes hardened and his blood boiled. “Listen I’m sorry they spoke about stuff like that. Don’t get scared off, don’t runaway, you know what we are.”
“I do, and it’s not the conversation that’s running me off, it’s what we are that is.”
He pulled back as if you slapped him.
“What?” He barely spoke out.
“I want that Peter.” You took your coat from the lady and looked at him one last time. “I want a future, with you. I want it, and the fact that you don’t has me rethinking my life decisions right now. So I need some fucking space, away from you.” You brought your hand up to wipe at your cheek, catching a tear that was threatening to fall.
It was then that he noticed you weren’t wearing his ring.
