The jazz bars music was low the sweet hum of Coltrane filled the room. Typically there’d be a live band here, but they weren’t open yet. Theo had assisted the now manager with decorating not because he enjoyed christmas, but because Maya Alliot had and something about doing this in memory of her gave him a bit of hope. The french loyalist birthday had been a few weeks back and since then Theo had continuously found himself drawn here. Drawn to the reminder of all the things they’ve lost along the way. A callous hand ran down his face as he inhaled a breath. The sound of the door opening caught his attention and he nodded towards the man, a welcomed sight, before grabbing them two glasses. 

“Pick a spot.” with both glasses filled, theo made his way over to Olivier. An out stretched hand holding the glass meant for his friend. "You good?"

XL Trailblazer Of The Week Olivier. I had the opportunity of a lifetime. It’s not often that a world renowned Model is here in Atlanta that I get a opportunity to chat with them and to photograph them.. I'm so geeked right now. The Internet knows him as Oli but his name is Olivier (Oh-Lee-Vee-Ay) not to pronounced Oliver. Pronunciation of Olivier Being that I knew he was only here for a short amount of time and I didn’t wanna take up too much of his time. I drove over to Lenox Mall and we meet at the Apple store (because dah why not lol). With the time I did have to spend with him I was able to soak up a lot of information and knowledge about the biz. It really lets me know that once you sit down and listen to people talk you can gain so much insight. We talked about hair, fashion, modeling you name it. One of the things that stuck out to me or I should say one of my first questions was where do you live because I always see you in Europe so I thought he lived in Europe.... but come to find out Olivier lives in Brooklyn. FOH So for one I was shocked but for two if anybody knows me you know that Brooklyn is my hometown so I was born & raised so of course that created an instant bond. XL Trailblazer Of The Week Olivier... and I talked about Modeling practices and some of the hardships that comes with modeling. One of the misconceptions that I had was that brands weren't moving fast enough but he helped me understand that hurdles that need to be jumped. One of them being fit. To create a proper Big & Tall line you need more fit models that's one. Second, you need to go back and forth a few times to make sure the cut is correct. One of the final things I took from our convo was we as a community should do a better job at rallying around the brands that are creating and executing the mission Of Big & Tall instead of worrying about the brands that haven't come around YETTTTTT.

I had the briefest of conversations about Ian McKellan on Friday night. (To add insult to injury it was actually Tom H related but never mind - edit, for some reason the full story is now below) AND I HAD A DREAM ABOUT IAN MCKELLAN. Now, thankfully, it wasn't a sex dream (although have you seen pics of him in the 70s? He was a massive heart throb and rightly so. Cumberbatch energy) - but still...the point remains, my subconscious is clearly a Disney villain.

Apparently this is story time. So the IK convo was Friday night. I went to my parents house to pick up my dog after training and my mum goes, "oh! I recorded something for you to see" (not usual - like a few mins of something that's been on TV. Usually travel related)

So she pulls up the fucking *loses mind* OLIVIER AWARDS where Tom & Haley are presenting a speech.

Now, *steeples fingers*, my mum is a smart lady. She knows I pulled my sorry ass to Socceraid because of 'an actor me and my friend like' and swiftly deduced it was Hiddleston.

I just came out with it for the trip to London for MAAN. She had a similar experience with waiting for Ian McKellan at the stage door in the 70s so she getssss it. I know she does.

But watching that awards segment with my dad awkwardly hovering at the door and my mum saying "he's got a lovely voice doesn't he?!?! Oh gosh, he's very tall..." and I'm like...THANKS MUM I HADN'T NOTICED yes yes he does, yep
