troll/satyr mix!

trolls in this timeline are amphibious beings, that are sensitive to sunlight and have "gems" all across their rocky looking bodies. Trolls are carnivorous and eat anything from field mice to young dragons, using their surprising agility and frog-like tongues to their advantage when hunting. They are capable of human speech and intelligent conversation. Trolls are also often hunted for their gems.

There are varying subspecies of troll. Bridge trolls, Deep Trolls, Mountain Trolls and Cave Trolls. All calcify in sunlight. Etoile is likely a Deep Troll, they’re the smallest and most humanoid, their gems are faceted and sometimes glow. Glitter biscuit B)

Deep Trolls live in the Deep, a subterranean labyrinth of winding tunnels and massive chambers found beneath many metropolitan areas like Sparks Crossing (the city jack lives in).

Etoile strikes me as someone who has a tiff with their vast and nebulous patron of mirth and duplicity but ended their contract prematurely, and thus still shows outward signs of their patron’s powers manifesting, even though they are no longer really affiliated with that patron
