SURPRISE! I’ve had this in my drafts for literally months now but for some reason never posted it?? But anyway, here I go, forging on with my Vox Machina liveblogs! My reactions are below the cut, and there are some spoilers for this episode in there so be careful :)

- Liam: “I’d just like to point out that we’re nine adults playing ‘Don’t Touch the Hot Lava’ at the moment” listen they are VALID

- Travis/Grog saying “Was it?! Did I do something good?!” is so wholesome but also so relatable

- Pike kissing Scanlan on the cheek to make him stay after that horrible Stealth check is so funny sdfghjkl (also, shoutout to Percy’s “Way to take one for the team.” because LMAO)

- SCANLAN KISSING PERCY TO PREVENT HIS HORRIBLE STEALTH CHECK, VOX MACHINA IS A MESS AND I LOVE THEM LMAOOO

- Oh no, something is down there that is gonna turn them all into stone and I have a bad feeling about all of this...

- Keyleth: “This is the meanest thing I’ve ever done!” / Vex: “No, remember you killed that kid one time!” She did... what?!?! There’s gotta be a story there

- And at about 1:24:47, we see the birth of the meta-gaming pigeon, Campaign 1 version sdfghjkl

- Aw, Pike’s poison lasso would have been so cool if it worked (also a reaction of “Huh” from the DM is always a good one)

- Vex yelling “We’re getting bored!” when Vax wanders off by himself definitely has Big Sibling Energy loool

- Also Travis saying “Can you fucking do something, please? Jesus.”  THEY ARE ALL SO IMPATIENT TODAY AND IT’S HILARIOUS, LET LIAM LIVE LMAOOOO

- All of them threatening Kima right after saving her from her chains poor Kima... I side with Vex’ahlia on this one, she’s the only one who seems like she would have chosen Kima over Clarota and I definitely don’t trust Clarota still!!

- Okay, so apparently Pike and Grog also would have chosen Kima over Clarota, whereas the entire bottom table was willing to choose this shady stranger over the Paladin they were charged to find and protect....... y’all pls i’m begging

- It does make for interesting character conflicts though, and means that we get to see everyone’s perspectives and conflict-dealing styles which I’m always a fan of so! Still a win tbh

Here are my notes on, thoughts about, and general liveblogs for Campaign 1, Episode 3 of Critical Role (”Strange Bedfellows.”) I really liked getting to see some characters’ powers (especially Keyleth, I’m liking her so much) and also I got to see a Vox Machina Plan in Action 😅 Naturally, there are spoilers below!

- Travis’ X-ed out sunglasses sdfghlkjsk RIP GROG

- Scanlan: “Someone, quick! Draw a dick on his face!” is lowkey Jester foreshadowing but don’t @ me 

- Wait who’s K’varn and why does that sound slightly familiar? (Update: I was thinking of Kima of Vord I think.... you say “the wolf did speak” I say “the wolf had a beak”)

- The twins being disasters who fail Religion checks and thus just looking up at the symbol and going “wow.... so pretty” is so funny sdfghjk I love them

- The Marisha and Tal cuddles/Keyleth and Percy sleeping position at like 25:05 is so freaking cute  😭

- YAY GROG’S BACK

- Sam: “Shall we tarry on, everyone?” Me, knowing A Spoiler about the future: I don’t know shall we 👀

- Awww all the gifts of pizza and ice tea and such, Critters were a giving community from the very beginning

- At first I was doubtful of this plan but you know what, this could have been so much worse

- WAIT VAX ALMOST DIED WHEN THOSE DUERGAR(???) CUT THE BRIDGE SDFGHJKL still could have gone worse though so..... win?

- That failed Wisdom save.... oof. Also Vax forgetting to add his Inspiration die to it  😭

- Keyleth is the Avatar, I’m fully convinced. Also, she’s a badass.

- Whoever this Clarota is,,,, I do not trust them at all asdfghjkl get out of there @ Vex and Keyleth!

- Grog is so excited to have the highest Insight check of the group looool I support him
