"Random HEADCANONS of BLACK FAMILY members"
Pollux Black: He hates art and anything related to the non-aggressive expression of feelings. Ironically, after his death, his children found complete and incomplete poems among his books of ancient runes.
Irma Black (nee Crabble): She likes to sit and embroider in front of the fireplace in the living room, in the rocking chair in front of the window in her bedroom, or any place she finds suitable for doing so. Many of her children's clothes featured subtle embroidery done by her.
Walburga Black: Known for being a chaotic and tough-to-manage child who could always be found on the move... she found peace walking around her family's vast grounds... that small uncut grove of trees? a perfect place to hide for a while from Pollux and Irma.
Alphard Black: Being one of the most neglected children by his parents, he found himself drifting in and out of different hobbies that kept him busy enough to escape reality. One of them was sailing and cartography... there was something special about feeling the cold wind on his face and the salty scent of the sea in his nose that visibly relaxed him.
Cygnus Black III: Most of the family members were educated in different branches of art: painting, music, theatre... there was nothing that the young Blacks had not tried until they were the best and got bored of it long after. Except for him, of course. He found himself immersed in the world of sculpture for longer than expected, spending days and nights until he managed to finish beautiful works that he asked Kreacher to place in corners of the family properties or their gardens. Many of his later sculptures were inspired by Druella, his beautiful and beloved wife... and later his three little princesses: Bellatrix, Andromeda and Narcissa.
Druella Black (nee Rosier): So small and thin since she was a child... her fragile aura and delicate figure were easy to associate with a ballet dancer. That was how her classes began... her golden hair was tied neatly, her delicate skin was adapted to the makeup of the plays she participated in, her wardrobe was filled with costumes and comfortable clothes for training and her shelf with dolls had to be enlarged to proudly display trophies and gold medals. One of her biggest dreams when little Bellatrix was born was to hope that she would become as interested in ballet as she was and that they could practice and dance together for hours.
Arcturus Black: A skilled hunter for as long as he can remember, he loved to go hunting for animals in dark forests with his frivolous father. Unfortunately for his flirtatious wife Melania, that only meant an entire room dedicated to the taxidermy of these animals and many parts of them placed throughout the house as decoration. The only time he saw a gesture of admiration towards him from his father was in one of those forests.
Melania Black (nee McMillan): Her wealthy but stingy family did not allow her to make large monetary expenses on a regular basis: only on special occasions were goods, decorations or ostentatious clothes acquired to keep up with the elegant and superficial pureblood society. Great was her surprise when, after marrying Arcturus Black, he gave her the freedom to do with her inheritance whatever she wanted as long as she did not exceed what her work provided them. Decorating the properties and gardens as she pleased became her favorite activity, and she found a challenge in making her tastes in decoration ally with her husband's taxidermied animals.
Lucretia Black: Since she was a child, nothing pleased her more than to climb onto the back of any animal that wouldn't knock her down before she could count to ten. That's how Arcturus made sure to build a stable for five brightly colored horses and an Abraxan that Lucretia took years to tame without the help of specialists in the field.
Orion Black: Much to the chagrin of his Arcturus, his only son loathed the firearms hanging on the walls and the taxidermied animals that gave him nightmares which meant the house elves had to change his bed sheets almost regularly. Instead, he found immense love in stringed instruments and the rhymes that flowed on their own into a catchy and emotional song. He could spend hours hiding in the attic where old portraits lay waiting to decay with endless layers of dust on their surfaces. The one where Eduardus Limette Black rested under an apple tree with a predecessor to the conventional guitar glued to his hands was his favorite... and where he learned most of the notes and musical combinations that would drive anyone who heard them crazy.

I've always wanted to write a scene of mutual agreement and support (friendship is a strong word) between Ginny and Romilda Vane, so here's around 1600 words of something that might have happened during Year 7.
*****
They wait until after dinner to round on her.
Ginny is mildly surprised; she'd guessed they would question her as soon as she got off the train, but perhaps they thought that Snape's speech—not the Headmaster's, she'd never consider him so—might terrify her enough to make her betray everything she has ever believed on. If so, they were very mistaken; seeing Snape in the middle of the staff table, with Death Eaters by his side, only infused her Gryffindor spirit.
"Weasley," calls Alecto Carrow. She has a mind to pretend to ignore her, but the mass of students climbing the stairs seems to freeze with that call, and Ginny has no choice but to answer it, all eyes on her as she walks to Alecto Carrow.
"Yes, Professor." She puts as much spite in that word as she can. Neville and Luna suddenly materialize next to her, and Ginny almost wishes they would stay away, as if there is any protection to be found this year.
Alecto looks her up and down. "That's it?" Her voice is mocking. "That's Potter's girlfriend?"
By her side, Crabble and Goyle nod; their gazes are not as unappreciative as Alecto's. With a shudder, Ginny thinks she will favour disdain any day.
"I thought Potter had better taste."
She buries her nails into her palm. Don't answer, she tells herself, and tries to keep a look of disinterest.
"Where is your boyfriend?"
Her rehearsed answer comes in a bored tone. "I would know if I had any." It feels more than ever that everyone is staring at her.
Alecto doesn't seem convinced, nor do her cronies.
"They were dating," says Goyle, in a whisper that everyone can hear. "Everyone saw it, they were snogging all around the place."
"It's what happens when you are dating someone," snaps Ginny. "We've broken up." She hesitates for a tiny beat. "He dumped me."
This time her rehearsed line doesn't sound credible, despite being the truth. Everyone's gaze seems to burn, evaluating her answer, and, for a moment, Ginny waits for someone to question this, to raise the absurdity of her words: they were in love. As Goyle had noted, anyone could see how they felt about each other; Harry had been beaming the whole time they were together, all those few weeks of sunshine and happiness and hope. Harry wouldn't just dump her—
And then Alecto Carrow laughs.
"I guess Potter already got what he was after, then?" She mocks. "Blood traitors aren't a good value if..."
"Perhaps the girl is lying," another voice pops in, and Ginny turns to see Amycus Carrow joining his sister. His gaze upon her makes Ginny shiver; she remembers all too well duelling him. "Perhaps she knows more than she's letting on—"
"I wouldn't think so," Luna says, her voice as dreaming as ever. "If she knew, she wouldn't be here."
"Harry always kept his secrets," Neville adds, crossing his arms.
Amycus and Alecto share a look before Amycus takes a step forward.
"I will be the judge of that. If we have Potter's precious girlfriend—"
"I am not even his girlfriend anymore!"
It doesn't seem to matter, though. Terror floods her, not so much for herself; there isn't anything that she can share with them, but if somehow Harry finds out that they've got her—their breakup will be for nothing—he is too stupid and too noble to do something reckless—
Amycus grabs her arm; Ginny dives her hand into her pocket, but before she can take out her wand, many things happen. Professor McGonagall appears, Neville points his wand at Amycus, and Romilda Vane laughs nervously.
"Please," she says. "Weasley was his girlfriend, so what?”
That makes everyone draw their eyes to her. Romilda tosses her hair out of her face, seemingly enjoying the attention, but Ginny can see a thin layer of sweat breaking through the girl's careful makeup.
"Harry was always smiling at me, flirting unashamedly, even when he was dating her. I wasn’t the only one either. Everyone knew he wasn't good business. A ladies' man, that one."
Ginny blinks; she is not alone. The year before, when Harry was at the height of his popularity at Hogwarts, everyone's favourite Chosen One, he had drawn many eyes. Ginny had found it bothersome, but she could understand what everyone was seeing: that gorgeous young man with messy dark hair and green eyes, tall and fit, with the added benefit of seeming oblivious to his own charm, almost shy. It had been endearing.
That also was one of the reasons why, when Harry and Ginny started dating, everyone wanted to talk about it. It had been huge news for Hogwarts' standard.
There was no way anyone would believe that Romilda was telling the truth.
"Potter never had any other girlfriend," Crabbe mumbles.
Romilda laughs derisively. "I wasn't his girlfriend, haven't you heard what I just said? He just liked to flirt." She nudges her friend. "Do you remember, Lisa? I told you Harry never took his eyes off me."
Lisa looks terrified, but she nods. "Yes," she confirms in a small voice. "And you—you shared chocolate once."
"Harry dated Cho," someone from the Ravenclaw crowd says, and there's a murmur of agreement.
"I went with Harry to a Christmas party last year," notes Luna. She skips the part where they went as friends.
"I think I saw him snogging a girl behind the greenhouses," Hannah Abbott says.
At her side, a boy nods. "I saw something in the library once."
People start adding comments, their voices mingling in a cacophony. The weirdest part is that Ginny knows no one is lying; people are telling about the times they saw Harry with a girl — only she was this girl, this only girl, but no one specifies that.
"Quiet, quiet!" Alecto sounds annoyed. She looks at Crabbe and Goyle. "Is this true?"
They shrug, lost.
"I saw Potter with Chang at Madam Puddifoot's," Pansy Parkinson confirms, distasteful. "And he went with Loony Lovegood to Slughorn's party."
"That would be Professor Slughorn, Miss Parkinson," chides Professor McGonagall, taking a definite step ahead and placing herself between the Carrows and Ginny. She raises her arm and, almost without a second glance, lowers Neville's still extended arm. "I do not see why a student's romantic life is under scrutiny at this hour of the night, especially a student who is not even here at the moment, but the others have class tomorrow morning."
"This is more important than classes," Amycus spats.
"I remind you this is still a school," Professor McGonagall says coldly.
Amycus' answer is cut by a bored voice. "What is this?" Snape walks, easily opening his way between the students gathered at the door.
"We are trying to interrogate the Weasley girl," Alecto says. "To find out the whereabouts of Potter. She was his girlfriend."
Snape rolls his eyes. "You heard the others. Potter was a lover-boy; that is not surprising considering how his father behaved with his fans." He regards Ginny coldly. "Weasley is not special. I doubted Potter ever shared anything more than a snog with her."
There's an underlying truth in his words that stung her, but before she can react, Snape is already addressing Professor McGonagall.
"Take your students to bed, Minerva. It would not be advisable to be out of the bed at this hour."
Professor McGonagall, who had been frowning at Snape as if trying to figure out something, bristles; there's nothing but repulse in her eyes as she nods.
"Of course, Severus." She turns to Ginny and the others. "Go to the Common Room, now."
And she casts a warning glance at Ginny, who runs to meddle between the other Gryffindor students climbing up the stairs. Her heart doesn't stop beating painfully until she enters the Common Room, and only then she looks back; the Carrows aren't in sight. She doubts this is the last time they will try to question her, but for now, she can breathe easily and give Neville a feeble smile when he looks at her.
"We will watch your back," he whispers.
"It will be fine," she says, with a confidence she doesn't feel. Nothing about her experience at Hogwarts so far gives her any faith that things will turn out well.
And then she catches a mop of black hair.
"Romilda," she calls. Romilda pauses on her way to the stairs.
"Yeah?"
Ginny waits until they are alone to whisper: "Thank you."
Romilda nods. There’s a moment of silence, during which Romilda eyes the stairs as if considering fleeing the scene before she asks: "Did he really break up with you?"
Ginny gulps. "Yeah."
"Oh, I thought—"
"No, it was true."
She waits for some remark; Romilda was truly determined to get Harry the year before, and she had pestered Ginny when she was dating Harry.
"He never actually flirted with me," Romilda says in a rushed whisper. "And you were special to him, I—I spent a lot of time watching him and trying to get his attention, but he never glanced at me... because he was too busy ogling at you."
Warmth spreads inside Ginny; she cannot help her smile. "Harry didn't ogle."
"Yes, all the time. He had it hard for you. Still has, I'd bet." Romilda smiles awkwardly. "Not very womanizer of him."
Ginny's eyes wide. "About that—if anyone finds out that you were exaggerating—"
"I'll talk to my friends. No one is going to say anything."
"I know. I trust you." They look at each other; it suddenly occurs to Ginny that Romilda has no idea, not really, of what could happen if anyone suspects her lie. Romilda never faced a Death Eater. Ginny hopes she never does. "It will be fine."
It's the same thing she told Neville before, but now there's a promise in her voice.
Romilda nods one last time. "Night, Ginny."
"Night, Romilda."

I'll never get over J.K accidentally writing one of the biggest romances ever completely by accident and then being pissy that people ship it.
Like what do you mean Draco is canonically fhe first person that Harry meets? What do you mean Harry is so in tune with Draco that he notices everything about him and vice-versa?
What do you mean Draco's wind (that following the rules of the own universe) it's something incredible loyal that won't change alliances just because of a shove/punch whatever she tells herself so she can sleep at night works flawlessly for Harry almost like his own wand does because it changed alliances when, according to J.K herself, that particularly wand it'd be incredibly loyal to its owner?
What do you mean Harry was so horrified by what he did with the Sectumsempra that he didn't even do a "See, I was right!" After harming Draco and left him virtually alone for the rest of the book?
What do you mean Harry notices the letters Draco gers? The clothes he wears? What do you mean that an honest to God quote from the book is "Harry, however, had never been less interested in Quidditch; he was rapidly becoming obsessed with Draco Malfoy"
What do you mean Harry came back to save only Draco and didn't even think about Crabble or Goyle?
What do you mean all of this is canon and we're what? Supposed to ignore it?
I know. This haunts me. When you lay it out it’s so hilariously insane. I mean I literally don’t need to change anything about the canon books other than the epilogue when I’m writing drarry fics nor would I want to; that’s how canon it is.
It’s especially insane when you factor in the fact that even if JKR wanted to write a drarry romance (which she one million percent did not) she wouldn’t be able to intentionally do such a good job as evidenced by the spotty, to say the least, quality of the canon romances. The characters really just went and Did That huh?

all because i liked a boy

SUM. You and Draco have been teasing each other for as long as you can remember when suddenly, you have had enough.
Draco. M x reader, fluff, angst, borderline bullying (could be seen as teasing but draco hits a certain nerve multiple times), reader is an academic warrior, reader has one panic attack, reader cries twice, Dub-con kissing, Ron x Reader (platonic), a fight happens, Reader gets hit on accident, family issues.
-----
Your story starts on your first day when you befriended Neville and Hermione on the train towards Hogwarts. Because you and Hermione had subconsciously chosen each other to be best friends, you were friends with Harry and Ron as default.
Out of your family, you were the first to join Hogwarts - every female L/N before you had gone to Beauxbatons but your parents decided to bring you here after your sister failed and therefore couldn't graduate.
Because of your older sister's choice to party instead of study, your parents had made it quite clear that you had to pass with flying colours, even if you were only eleven.
You were walking up the stairs with Hermione when a Professor in a tall hat stopped you all. She explained how the houses worked before leaving to make sure everything was ready.
"Psst." You hear someone whisper beside you. You look around curiously before your eyes settle on the Draco Malfoy.
Your family and the Malfoy family had been in kahoots for a while - his father was the boss of your very respected mother so, while it was rare, it also wasn't uncommon to see you at their family balls.
"Hello, L/N. How did you find the ride to Hogwarts?" He smiles, his gelled slick back hair shining, making you bite back your laughter.
"It was pleasant, I made a couple friends. How about you?"
"The same. I met up with Crabble and Goyle, you remember them, right, L/N?" He replies, gesturing to his friends behind him who are in their own conversation. You nod. He continues before you can speak.
"You know, it's a shame what happened to your sister."
You felt your heart crack slightly a the thought of your sister. You loved her more than anyone else in the world, but because she had damaged the L/N reputation, she was heavily reprimanded by almost everyone in your family. 'She's lucky she wasn't kicked out of the family.' You remember your parents telling you under candlelight as they kissed your forehead. 'Let this be a reminder to you, Y/N, to never fall behind in your studies.'
If the situation with your sister wasn't as bad as your family had made it to be, you would have smiled and moved on. But you felt insecurities flow through your eleven-year-old veins for the first time, so you lashed out as gracefully as you could.
"Yes, Malfoy, it's also a shame with what happened to your father. What happened again? He got fired for suspicious use of the dark arts?" You scoffed, turning your head away from him and crossing your arms. From the corner of your eye, you see that Hermione had been watching with concern the whole time.
You listen to Draco struggle to insult you back, stuttering and all, before letting out a court, 'My father will hear about this!'
Fast forward twenty minutes and the sorting hat is on your head. You hear it grumble and mumble to itself before yelling, 'SLYTHERIN!'
The table of the said house erupts in cheers and hollers, clapping as you sat down at your table. You make eye contact with Hermione from her table who gives you a thumbs-up. You respond by giving a wide-smile.
A couple days later and you quickly start to feel guilty. You have a lot of classes together so whenever you see him sat at his seat, you force yourself to turn away.
One day, you had spoken to both Hermione and Pansy (on separate occasions of course, even if you didn't quite understand the rivalry between Slytherin and Gryffindor) and both had said to just apologise to him. The worst that could happen would be that he doesn't accept your apology but he grows up to forgive you, right?
Wrong.
"Malfoy, could we talk?"
It was break now and you were both coming out of your Transfiguration class. He stops to glance at you and you feel bad for the people that are stuck behind him and are forced to squeeze by. He nods silently so you walk away with him following you. You lead him to a quiet part of the corridors.
"I wanted to apologise for how I acted last week, it was rude and I had no reason to say that. I was insecure and you wouldn't believe what I had to go through when my sister-"
"What you went through?" He cuts you off.
"It wasn't you that failed." He takes a step forward. "It wasn't you that was bad-mouthed by the entire Ministry of Magic." Another step. "It wasn't you that was technically banished by all social events." He took one more step, and you felt your back hit the stone wall. Your breath is quivering by now.
"Your sister made the one mistake of being happy and now she has to pay the sad price. I truly feel bad for her, not you." He looks down at you for a while before he backs off, still glaring. "Not everything is about the youngest L/N daughter, Princess Y/N." He says before walking off, hands in his pockets.
The worst that could happen would be that he makes you insecure of what you talk about and will continue to torment you for five years.
Because he was right. Not everything was about you.
You stood there for a couple of beats before you ran off to find Pansy or Hermione, whoever you found first, but amidst the chaos that was running through your mind and the tears that wouldn't stop falling, you ran into Ron.
Probably the worst person you could have run into. It couldn't have been Blaise or Harry, so it had to be Ron.
And bless his heart, Ron really did try to soothe you. He couldn't understand your babbles as you choked through your sobs, but he could understand one thing.
Draco's name.
Before he even attended the school, he knew of the Malfoys, so it didn't surprise him that you were hurt because of him. But you were absolutely wrecked, it looked like you couldn't even breathe. Sitting on the floor probably wasn't helping.
He went to go find Hermione, but the minute he stood up, he felt you tug on his sleeve.
"Please..." You mutter to the best of your abilities. "Just stay with me."
And stay he did.
That day, you both saw a different side to each other. You no longer saw him as the corny comedic relief, and he no longer saw you as the posh pure-blood.
Ever since then, you often sat at the Gryffindor table. Prefects like Percy were suspicious at first - A slytherin sitting at the Gryffindor couldn't have been good news - but people grew to love you and you had more friends on the Gryffindor table than the Slytherin table.
Sometimes you would sit with Pansy on the Slytherin table, but you would have to sit away from her friendship circle since Draco was a part of that. You didn't force her to stop being friends with Draco since you sat at the Gryffindor table most of the time and no one else would talk to her. Most of your conversations take place in class or in your shared room.
The first time Draco made fun of you in front of everyone was in Potions class a couple months after you confronted him. You were sat alone since Pansy was sick.
You put a feather into your potion only for it to instantly blow up, puffing smoke into your face.
You were utterly embarrassed - not only did you mess up in Snape's class of all classes and you looked a mess, but this meant that you made a mistake.
Draco's words echoed in your head: 'She made one mistake and now has to pay the price.'
Snape silently took your flask and saved telling you off since he knew you're usually on top of things.
"Ha!" You heard behind you. "She's turning into her sister!"
You slowly turn around to see Draco laughing with Crabble and Goyle. Despite the entirety of the class not laughing with him, you felt as though the whole world was cackling and wouldn't stop cackling.
Before anything else was said, you ran out of the class.
It didn't stop there. He would constantly insult your smarts and your grades - even if you had gotten Leviosa on your first try and he didn't, he would comment on something like your posture, whether bad or good. He also made it seem like he was bullying Harry, Ron and Hermione for being friends with you, making you feel guilty about even being friends with them.
One time, the three could tell that you were trying to pull away from them so they invited you out to Hogsmeade more and more. Soon enough, you forgot about even trying to stop talking to them.
Throughout the next four years, you slowly learned to tune out Draco's bullying, and yes, you reported him and so did many others, but nothing was ever done because of his family's status. One time, however, a howler was sent to Draco and not only was it from his mother, it was also from his dad! He left you alone for awhile before he eventually forgot about the Howler and went back to you.
For a while , you didn't think of your sister. No, not like that, you sent her letters every week, but you just slowly stopped thinking about your parents forcing you to be smart all because of her, you just fell into the routine of studying and you quite liked it.
Once you got through the mental block of attending parties, you loved going out! You were friends with every house at Hogwarts, so you were seen at almost every party all while keeping your straight As.
You even learned to talk back to Draco. While you never insulted his father again, you would tease him by saying stuff like 'kiss my ass' and 'you can't mansplain Quidditch to me when you're not even on the team, unlike Harry.’
------
You were in your fifth year now and currently struggling to get something from the top shelf when suddenly, you felt someone's chest come up behind your back and see a long arm stretch out to get the bottle you needed before backing up.
You turn around to see Draco's face. By now, he was much taller than you and had also somewhat left you alone. When you stopped responding to his comments, he slowly gave up.
His expression was unreadable but he just kept staring at you before giving you the bottle and walking away.
That was the first act of kindness (?) between you and Draco. Once, he struggled to get a potion correct for the last few lessons and once you saw he was about to put the wrong ingredient in, you stopped him and passed him the correct ingredient. When the potion lit up and showed to Draco that he had successfully made the potion, his smile grew wide before looking to you and nodding.
You were getting used to passing by Draco in the corridors without fear but instead with smiles towards each other.
Little did you know, Draco had not only felt extremely guilty for how he's acted towards you even though you tried to apologise on the first week. He just couldn't stop, because if he did, he wouldn't be able to talk to you and get your attention anymore. But when that happened anyways, he gave up on making fun of you.
Now, it was nighttime and you were in the astronomy, leaning against the gate that held you from falling to your death. Earlier today, you had less that 100 on your test. While it was still a good score and most people wouldn't be able to get a 94, you didn't want it to be the first of many. You thought maybe studying right now might not be the best since you won't even remember the information.
You hear someone clear their throat. "Hey, Ron." You said. Ron was the only one to know that, if someone couldn't find you, you'd be up here. Weirdly enough, you were each other's shoulder to cry on ever since that day with Draco.
"Ron?" The voice says behind you. In shock, you stand up straight and off the gate only for your eyes to land on Draco, so you went back to leaning.
"Hey, Malfoy."
"You know you're not supposed to be up hear, right? You should be in bed, now." Oh yeah. You forgot he was a prefect now.
"I know."
Oddly enough, you knew he wasn't going to do anything. You had no reason to think that, but your gut was telling you to stay. "I could pay you to keep quiet, if you want." you joke. You hear him scoff and suddenly, he's next to you, also leaning on the gate.
"Nah, I've got enough money." He says, causing you to laugh, which makes him laugh slightly too. "What're you doing up here? Are you expecting Weasley?" He asks, looking at you, but you keep looking out into the night sky.
"Nope, I just wanted some time to think." You say briefly. And you do think. You think, 'Why the hell am I telling him this?'
"Do you want me to leave?" He questions after a couple moments of silence, and the question shocks you. He didn't say, 'I'll leave,' or 'I can leave.' He said 'Do you want me to?'
You find yourself shaking your head before you can think, so he nods.
"Can I ask you something, Malfoy?" You ask all of a sudden, turning your head to face him and he's already staring at you.
"Of course."
You hesitate for a moment, wondering if you were in the right headspace to ask him 'why were you so mean to me for so long?' or if Draco would just pull what he did in first year again. So you shake your head and start to walk away.
"No. Never mind. I'm going to bed."
Suddenly, he grabs your arm. You wince at the grip which he instantly amends by soften his grip but not letting go.
"No. Ask me."
"Malfoy, let me go-"
"Please."
You turn your head around to see him practically pleading with both his eyes and his words. Never had you heard him say 'Please' to even a professor.
You felt bad, so you turned your whole body around to face him, shifting your weight onto one hip and crossing your arms.
"Why did you tease me for so long?" You finally ask, clenching my teeth and hardening my gaze as he seemed to struggle to get words out.
"You do know that you teased me too?" He says, his eyes never breaking eye contact with you.
"Yeah, but I didn't insult you, Draco!" You burst out before backing down instantly. "Malfoy. Sorry." You corrected yourself.
He lets go of your arm before swiftly moving both his hands to cup your cheeks and kiss you. You panic slightly and push him away.
"What the fuck?!" You yell, wiping your lips in disgust. "You can't just make me and my Hogwarts experience absolutely dreadful and horrific and then kiss me like you're in love with me!"
"That's because I do!" He yells back, making you shut up. He runs a hand through his hair, turning away from you to think for a bit before turning back but not meeting your eyes. "I have been since you first came to the Malfoy balls."
You look at him as if he was crazy because right now, he is.
"Then why did you make my life hell?!"
"Because...!" He manages to exhale out before sighing. "Because I was an insecure only-child who has never had to say sorry and always gets his way. I'm sorry I never said sorry but you wouldn't even look my way if I didn't tease you a least a little, and I know, I know I went too far sometimes, but please..." He takes a couple steps back to get closer to you and tower over you. "Please forgive me."
There's a moment where you're slowly puckering your lips and he's leaning down. He puts a hand back on your cheek before the kiss finally lands.
The kiss, at first, is slow before it gets rougher and his other hand goes to the back of your head to safely push you against a wall. It reminds you of first year but you don't think about that memory for long since he's licking your bottom lip and you're opening up, closing your eyes.
You're both moaning into the kiss, your hand going up to throw his hat away to rake your hand through his hair, until Draco is suddenly pulled off of you and grunting in pain. You don't even comprehend what's happening in front of you when you open your eyes for a while until you see ginger hair mixed with platinum blonde hair on the floor.
Ron is beating up Draco.
"Ron!" You yelp, rushing to get him off. "Stop!"
"What the hell are you doing to her, Malfoy?!" Ron practically spits as you pull his punching arm away only for him to get it out of your grasp and punch him again.
You go to grab Ron's arm again but he brings his arm up quicker than you thought and elbows your face, hitting your cheekbone and causing you to yelp and fall onto the floor.
At the sound, Ron gasps and looks back to see you on the floor covering your cheekbone. He quickly gets up to check on you, crawling on the floor and carefully taking your hand off of your cheek. He can barely take a look at the already-forming bruise before he's shoved out of the way by Draco whose eyes were wide and whose hand was shaking just by looking at your pretty face ruined by a purple spot.
"Get off her, Malfoy-!"
"Merlin, Ron, just shut up!" You yell, scrabbling to get up and quickly leaving. Draco doesn't hesitate to grab his prefect hat that had fallen off during the kiss and go after you, but Ron's iron grip landed on his shoulder.
"Don't go after her." Ron threatens, getting out his wand from his pocket with his other hand. Draco has to admit, Ron is the most stupid person he knows (he was being proven right the second Ron put his hand on his shoulder) but Ron can be intimidating, like now.
Draco just pushes his hand off before running after you.
He sees you speed-walking down the dark and empty corridor so he jogs after you, stopping you and turning you to face him.
You've been crying since you left and he pulls you into a hug, letting you cry into his robe, his chin laying on top of your head. Eventually, you pull away and go on you tippy-toes to kiss his cheek, leaving him a blushing mess. This is the first time you properly saw him since Ron had beat him up - his cheek was much more purple than yours as well as his nose which was also starting to bleed from his nostrils, and his lip was cut - but he was still much more concerned with you than him.
"C'mon. Let's get you to bed." He nods in the direction of the dungeons.
"What is the meaning of this?" You hear the familiar voice of Umbridge, causing you both to flinch and turn around quickly. She's glaring at you until she's looking at Draco for an information. "I heard yelling up in the astronomy tower, Mr Malfoy. Tell me everything has been sorted?" She sighs.
"Yes, Professor Umbridge, a couple of Gryffindors. I got caught up in it but it's been sorted out, now." He lies. You both watch cautiously as she nods in understanding, her gaze going from the floor to you. "And her?"
"Sleep walking, ma'am." Draco 'explains' without a beat. You see her look at the bruise.
"Draco told me I had fallen down when he found me." You tell her. She nods.
"Make sure you both go straight to bed, the both of you!" She says before turning around and coming back from where she had come from. Once she had turned the corner, you and Draco laugh with each other and you turn around to make your way to the dungeons, walking in the opposite direction of Umbridge.
He casually slings an arm around your shoulders, kissing your temple as you both made you way over.

Maturing is realizing that Draco Malfoy was a child who was never given any other choice except 'be evil.'
Let me start by saying that this doesn't mean I excuse Draco's behavior. Yes he was a bully and a horrible little brat. There is no excuse for calling people slurs and wishing death on them. I had very little sympathy for him when I was younger.
But as I've gotten older I've started to think....what other choice did Draco have? What other path was he offered?
Harry had all these adults guiding him and while some may have had ulterior motives (Dumbledore) they all at least wanted him to stay on the 'light' path. They guided him and made sure that he knew he had people standing with him.
Even Sirius who I can see people bringing up as an example. Yes Sirius turned against his entire family and rejected extremist pure blood values so why couldn't Draco? Here's why: Even Sirius knew he had James Potter. When he walked out that door Sirius knew he had a place to go. He knew he had someone
Who does Draco have?
His parents? They were both Death Eaters. Even though his mother is clearly not as evil as his father. Draco still cannot completely rely on her to get him out if he admits. 'I don't want to hate muggle borns'
Friends? What friends? Crabble and Goyle were little more than henchmen. And who else do we really see Draco interacting with in the Snakes?
snape? He was a double agent who couldn't risk his cover being blown.
Andromeda? He had no way of contacting her. She had been disowned.
Draco literally had no one in his life that said it was OKAY to NOT be evil.
Everyone who ever influenced Draco was on the dark side. There was no truly 'light' influence for him. No one that he felt safe enough to say 'I don't want to be a death eater'
A bully he may be...but Draco is a product of his environment and it's actually really sad.
#harry potter#draco malfoy#yes he was a bully but he was not EVIL#Its actually really sad when you truly think on it#maturity

|| || Kuja is a year old and his initial venture onto Gaia's surface is short-lived-- the alien scents and biting cold send him fleeing back to the Invincible within minutes. His complaints echo for hours on end, voiced to Garland and the lesser genomes who attempt to offer solace, witnessing his unprecedented distress. Yet, he rejects their comfort with revulsion.
In time, they would become accustomed to these tantrums.
Kuja is a year and some months old when he braves Gaia's surface once more, now armed with the foresight of his previous encounter. He dedicates a day to wandering through a forest and lounging in the dappled sun of a clearing, returning with a solitary flower. Garland views the little souvenir with indifference, so Kuja preserves it between the pages of a book, dubbing the act a creation of memory.
Kuja's third ascent to Gaia is granted with fewer restrictions, allowing him to explore a populated domain, albeit under the condition of avoiding interactions with its inhabitants. He allocates his time to perusing the volumes of a secluded library hidden within a water-carved cave, fast favoring the escapism offered by fiction over the dry and biased narratives of history. Tales of war, love, and sorrow captivate him, and a selection of them accompanies him back to Terra. An attempt to share one such story with his Master is met with firm dismissal, and he is left to read in solitude.
These priceless first edition volumes would never grace the shelves of Daguerreo again.
|| || "There is so much that cannot be properly understood just by studying texts," Kuja muses, his voice carrying a trace of longing, gaze distant, yet sharply focused on his guardian. "The surface world seems so promising, and yet I have only ever seen it between the lines. What a wealth of sights and experiences must await... Once you grant me the freedom to explore..."
His implication is thinly veiled.
Kuja is almost a year old, and the Angel of Death is eager to unfurl his wings. He prattles on and on of Gaia's civilizations, their marvels, the coastal breezes, the mountain winds' mournful cries. Of the Mist. Garland, for his part, listens-- not out of interest, but because Kuja's voice is the sole break in the monotony of his silent domain.
Kuja is almost a year old and already he has learned how to wear down his keeper with naught but persistence.
#v. || yesterdays sorrows ||#|| Headcanon ||#crabble continued#by popular demand of myself and like 1 other person#I find it apt that Daguerreo would be one of the first places he goes#i feel like he will get banned from there eventually from just taking the books#but you cant ban kuja he does what he wants#it is one of his fave locations either way

Drarry/HP headcanons - Pt4
How many parts am I going to write for this? I have no idea! Lol... I guess as long as I have ideas in my mind that I want to keep registred, I'll be adding them here!
Headcanon #4: The friendships Well, we all know well the Golden Trio dynamics from the books. I stand by the fact that Harry and Hermione have always been just really good friends, and Harry and Ron are a very good team. I do imagine Harry and Ron working as Auror partners as a possible future, while Hermione goes on to become a political figure. And I think Romione is a good ending for Ron and Hermione, I really like this ship. Ron and Hermione really complete each other. I think, of course, that the trio remained very close friends, but the love between Ron and Hermione always made Harry feel a bit like an outsider, even though that was never the intention of Ron and Hermione, and they always tried to make Harry feel a part of their lives. But once they get married, or move in together, and Harry has to live alone, he starts to feel a bit more distanced to his friends. He watches as they move on with their lives, while he still feels stuck in the past, and on the ghosts of the war. And of course that we all know how this emptiness on Harry's heart can be fixed! It's a great trope for me to see Draco and Harry connecting throught their 'loneliness'. Because of course that Draco would be lonely after the war! He would try to distance himself from the whole world. During Hogwarts, my headcanon is that he only developed a real friendship with Pansy Parkinson. And this is all because of the scene in the train on Book 6, where Draco is sitting on Pansy's lap and she's brushing her fingers through his hair (and our boy Harry makes sure he details how Pansy seems to be very happy doing that - we see you Harry, you already wanted to be her! 👀). This intimacy between them is a sign of a real friendhip to me. Crabble and Goyle were just henchmen, and I think that Draco's pureblood upbringing wouldn't let him be completely vulnerable and honest with other Slytherins, like Theo Nott or Blaise Zabini. They would be 'school friends' because they kind of have no other option, and like, their parents all knew each other, but they never really open up to one another. But with all that happen in the war, I think Draco would shut himself out, even from Pansy, so he would naturally feel lonely after the war. And then you all know what happens! 🤣

What fascinates me about drarry besides how clearly unintentional it was, is just how clear it is in canon.
Is not even a case of readers reading too much into things or using headcanons, everything is textual and it goes beyond Draco being Harry's foil.
Draco is canonically the first child Harry meets.
Harry is canonically kinder in his inner musings when it comes to Drack than he is about pretty much everyone else
Harry is canonically in tune with Draco, and even though he doesn't have a reason to he seems to be able to read him like an open book and vice versa.
Harry knows what Draco does, what he gets from his parents, how he behaves, when he's hiding or plotting or anything else, really. And yes sure, Harry is great at reading people, but it just seems like he laser focuses on Draco most of the time when it's not really necessary for the narrative.
Like why do we need to know what coat Draco wears? How exactly is that relevant?
And it goes beyond that, it's how he struggles to cope with what he did to Draco, is how he refuses to leave him and just him behind, not paying any mind to anyone else. And we know that Harry has no problems with death, with what, him vaporizing Voldy/Quirrell in the first book or with him being like oh these two (Goyle ans Crabble) are playing stupid games and will win stupid prizes but Draco must be saved!
Is Draco's wand working so well for Harry.
Its giving soulmates
I KNOWWWWW! IT'S INSANE!!! JKR didn't mean to write it that way but she somehow did. Their character are so deeply intertwined with each other. They are essential to each other's characters and arcs. The relationship is so critical to the narrative and so well developed. And all by mistake!!! Just. How?! And yeah. Your point at the end is so correct and such an amazing facet of this ship. They are absolutely each other's exceptions. Draco defies Voldemort for Harry. And Harry risks his mission and the lives of his friends for Draco despite generally being pretty cold towards his enemies. It's not that Harry can't kill or can't let an enemy die. It's the he can't let DRACO die or even be hurt.
Remember this bit from book 5?
Harry was fully ready to curse that Death Eater and is shocked that Hermione has a problem with it and obviously thinks she's being ridiculous but that there isn't time to argue. And remember in book 7 Harry wasn't willing to curse Stan but was perfectly willing to curse the other Death Eaters following them, even though he knew that would likely get them killed. And there's this bit from book 6:
....Clearly Harry is not losing any sleep over having straight up murdered Quirrel. Not to mention the part in book 2 when he makes Lockhart go into the Chamber first so he'll be eaten if the basilisk pops out suddenly. As you correctly noted, Harry is not some giant softie who wouldn't harm a fly. If Draco were any other Death Eater Harry would not be treating him the way he does. Or even any random person Harry disliked (like Crabbe or Goyle or Lockhart). But Draco is different.

I was going to post this to my class's google classroom with the text "I will surely not thrive." However, all of the posts that were up there by other students were deleted, so i'm gonna assume we're not allowed to and just not. Either way, enjoy crabble.
