The Union Public Service Commission conducted the UPSE prelims on 3rd of June 2018. The UPSC 2018 paper was tougher than UPSC prelims paper last year opined several of the candidates who had appeared for the exam conducted this Sunday.

UPSC Prelims 2018 Paper-
Candidates appearing for the UPSC prelims 2018 found that the paper was comparatively difficult than the UPSC prelims paper last year. Candidates found maths to be difficult and English relatively easy but the questions very tricky with focus mainly on applied knowledge. Candidates commenting on UPSC prelims question paper found the CSAT questions to be difficult as compared to last year. This year around 3 lakhs students appeared for the exam. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts this exam in three stages- The first stage is the UPSC preliminary exams consisting of two papers, namely: Paper 1- General studies Paper 2- Aptitude Collectively the above two papers are termed as CSAT. The CSAT questions are objective type questions with multiple choice options which carry negative marking too. Blind candidates are allowed 20 minutes extra to finish their exam. The students who prepare for the exam refer various study material along with the UPSC prelims previous year papers. Apart from all these a candidate should have conceptual clarity, basic retention power and proper strategy to clear the UPSC preliminary exams.  Candidates take several attempts of the UPSC preliminary exams to acquire good score as the number of candidates chosen for Main exams is less.
