Yindra: At AAA? On my level? Worth my romantic interest? No, no. Aside from my lesbian crush on Jeff, no one else. Believe it or not, there is a whole world full of wonderful women outside the walls of Adams Academy of the Arts.

Yindra: OOH, WHAT FUN.

Nigel: I don’t like this question. Let’s pick a different one.

Yindra: Who would I pick? So many contenders... am I sticking to heteronormative, here, or can I choose whomever?

Nigel: Oh, whatever. Do whatever you want.

Yindra: Goody. So there’s an obvious here that for whatever reason is remaining unsaid today, because Nigel sucks, so I’ll make it fun and analyze your compatibility with everyone else.

Nigel: Ugh.

Yindra: Obviously, Zay is a great option. Most suitable bachelor at AAA. But I feel like you two actually wouldn’t be that good together. You know him too well, and you’re not endeared by his bad habits and quirks so much as you’re affectionately annoyed.

Nigel: Or sometimes just annoyed.

Yindra: Hence, little bitch. No, Zay needs someone who is so enamored with him all of those traits still seem endearing. And honestly, I feel like he needs someone who counters his driven ambition with tempered expectations and compassion. Like, you’re mellow, but you’re a bit too snarky. You’d just rev each other up.

Nigel: Fair enough.

Yindra: Riley’s a good option, she’s sweet and everything, but as we know she’s clearly not into your type. Never would’ve guessed it, but she is with Friar now, so she’s made her choice.

Nigel: Best of luck to her.

Nigel: No. This isn’t rivals to lovers. Move on.

Yindra: Ugh, fine. Dylan and Asher are out of the question because they have their weird immortal love, unless you want to make it a throuple. But I honestly think Asher is too similar to you. Not that that’s a bad thing, but I think Asher needs whatever Dylan has to make him fully functional. You wouldn’t give him that.

Nigel: So it’s not him, it’s me.

Yindra: Yes. Sarah is too mean, and we know Maya is out of the question. Same for Dave and Nate, since they’re both ace. Darby is sweet, but I gotta be real with you, Nige, I think she plays more for my team than yours.

Nigel: Really? She’s always commenting on how attractive guys in our class are.

Yindra: Yes. That’s a thing called compulsory heterosexuality. Anyway, Isadora would crush you like a little bug --

Nigel: Gee, thanks.

Yindra: And Haley would never be able to date you, because you’re not Charlie. Clarissa is also out of the question because of teams. And you can’t have Jeff, because that’s my lesbian crush.

Nigel: This is the worst question.

Yindra: So, gee... I wonder who that leaves... it’s almost like there’s one person left in the A class who is just perfect for you... hm...

Nigel: Yogi.

you wake up one morning and you've switched bodies with each other for the rest of the day. what do you do while you're each other?

Yindra: Oh, boy!

Nigel: Oh, no.

Yindra: First things first, I wake up and I burn all of my Shakespeare plays.

Nigel: That’s literally the meanest thing you’ve ever said. Why do you hate me? Why am I not allowed to enjoy things?

Yindra: Just kidding, just kidding. Oh. But you know what I actually would do?

Nigel: I don’t want to know. Keep it to yourself.

Yindra: I roll up to class, and I finally tell Farkle Minkus the truth, which is that I’m just as talented as he is and the only reason he’s been walking all over me for four years is because I let him. Because I’m so nice and lowkey and I don’t fight him, but if I scrapped even a little bit, I’d win.

Nigel: Oh. Well, that’s not so bad.

Yindra: Then I turn this tirade on Miss Burgess -- and Miss Moore, she was really more of the problem, and we can have her be here too -- and I let her know just exactly what I think of her favoritism. Zay already did this, apparently, but I’m doing it with an audience and I’m giving an encore. The class bursts into applause -- except Maya and Farkle, who are crying. But actually, they’re still clapping, because they can’t deny a good performance.

Nigel: Alright. Cool, I’m into this.

Yindra: Then, I whip around, find Jade Beamon, and pull her into my arms so that I can dip her and give her a grand ol’ --

Nigel: OKAY. THAT’S ENOUGH.

Yindra: I would be a great you. It’s a shame I’m not.

Nigel: If I were Yindra for a day, I would be really really nice to Nigel and buy him lots of Shakespeare plays and leave him alone.

Yindra: Ha ha. Dream on, lovebug.

if you don't have personal goals for this year, what are some things you want to see each other achieve? like what's yindra's goals for nigel and vice versa?

Yindra: Aw, this is cute.

Nigel: Despite the fact that I think she’s crazy, I hope that Yindra figures out exactly what she wants for her post-grad plan and finds all the best ways to accomplish those wants. And she knows I’ve got her back through all of it. Also, if I could truly have it, I’d love for her to get a more meaningful solo in things that actually matter at AAA. She’s the best of our crop -- yes, I mean Maya included -- and she’s been paid dust.

Yindra: You’re so sweet. And yes, I know you’ve got me.

Nigel: Til the end.

Yindra: My goals for Nigel would be two-fold. 1) For him to get a rich, decent role that he can really dig his teeth into -- and if it’s Shakespeare, even better. 2) For him to overcome his sense of compulsory laid-backness that keeps him from actually speaking up about things he wants and then getting those things.

Nigel: That’s nice. No clue what you could be referring to though.

Yindra: God, you infuriate me. But somehow I still love you.

Any thoughts on the class pres election this year? You would both be amazing leaders!

Yindra: Oh, yes. The impending election.

Nigel: I can’t believe we have to deal with this and the most stressful election in recent American history this year.

Yindra: I’m intrigued to see who runs, the only person I’ve heard muttering about running is Maya. And my God, if Maya Hart becomes president...

Nigel: Yeah. That would certainly be interesting.

Yindra: No clue who else might run. It’s nice of you to say I’d be a good leader, but I’m not much interested. I’ve got other things to do like focus on my vocal training.

Nigel: I’m not at all into it either. Like, I care about who will be elected, but it shouldn’t be me. This might surprise you, but I don’t like to put myself in leadership positions much.

Yindra: No... no way. You’re joking? I never would’ve thought...

Nigel: Too many decisions, too much public pressure. It’s not like a play where all the answers and conclusions are written out for me. No thanks. I also know that the techies are not excited about it, at least according to Jade. They’ve got all this beef about it because typically, the elected officials are just performers and then nothing ever changes or gets done -- least of all for the techies.

Yindra: And do I see that changing any time soon? Unlikely.

Yindra: No, it could never happen. Mainly because I think Dave would cry at being replaced -- platonic or otherwise. And do you really wanna be the reason Dave Williams cries?

you guys are considered honorary techies. what’s your areas of tech-spertise?

Nigel: Tech-spertise. That’s cute.

Yindra: It’s funny, because I think the real reason we were considered honorary techies at all is because we like... put in the bare minimum effort to help. Like, because we didn’t just dismiss it at all, we got that honor. The bar was truly on the floor. Pour one out for the techie crew.

Nigel: Yeah, we were less involved than Yogi, who knows a fair amount about sound design and lighting and blocking. We mainly focused on helping Nate, Dylan, and Dave build sets, or Asher curate props. Like, wherever they needed an extra hand, we were willing to step up and help, and I was shocked to discover that was like unprecedented. Like damn, our classmates are spoiled.

Yindra: No kidding. Like some people I get it, like Charlie and Zay spend so much time tutoring others in choreography that I understand why they don’t have time to spare. But everyone else... I mean, especially a certain group of plastics and our very own Rachel Berry...

favorite memory with each other?

Nigel: The museum --

Yindra: The museum crawl.

Nigel: Oh, jinx.

Yindra: Basically one time in like... spring semester freshman year? It had to be --

Nigel: Yeah, because Zay was dating Bitchlyn.

Yindra: Right, yes. So Zay had this awful boyfriend freshman year.

Nigel: Like, he was two years older than us and technically assigned as Zay’s student mentor -- they do that at AAA sometimes, if you sign up to do it -- and he thought it would be a good idea to date his freshman mentee.

Yindra: Yeah, disgusting. Like I would’ve never dated a freshman last year. And of course, as you can predict, the relationship was lowkey toxic and fucked up, but Zay wouldn’t listen to us at the time, because when you’re in it... you know, it’s hard.

Nigel: Thank God he got out of that, although it definitely did mess with him. You could see how he was a little less steady sophomore year -- at least, we could, as his best friends.

Yindra: For sure. But we were also still kind of upset with him, because of how he totally dumped us for the juniors at that time, so it was... well, thankfully we’ve recovered. That’s not the point of this story anyway.

Nigel: So Zay is with Bitchlyn, and spending all his time with him and the juniors, so Yindra and I hadn’t really hung out in a while because usually we hung out as a trio. So then one day we decided we’d scheme up this big thing, like do a big outing, and then do that thing where you post on social media to make people jealous. Mainly, Zay, since we were hanging out without him.

Yindra: He didn’t even notice, but honestly it’s fine. It was a dumb plan anyway. But we got this great hangout out of it.

Nigel: We dressed up super nice, like as casual chic as you can get at fifteen, and we just went to a bunch of the museums in the city. Saw lots of art, took a ton of pictures.

Yindra: We totally bonded that day, that was when our friendship really solidified. It sucks that it came out of such a tense time with Zay, but we really had so much fun. I smile every time I think about it.

Nigel: Same. And we looked damn good.

Yindra: Oh, you know we did.

Yindra: Favorite pick me up song? Oh, Nigel can’t answer this one.

Nigel: Ugh.

Yindra: All of his music is super mellow and lowkey depressing. I don’t think he’s heard of a pick me up.

Nigel: That is not true. I’m sorry you can’t appreciate good music. Anyway, my answer right now would be “Buttercup” by Hippo Campus.

Yindra: Mine is, now and always, “Motivation” by Normani.

Nigel: Movie wise, I would say my favorite is a tie between Whiplash and Pride & Prejudice.

Yindra: Pride & Prejudice? You’re joking.

Nigel: The score is beautiful and period pieces are superior. Not to mention the cinematography, and there are great performances --

Yindra: Blah, blah. Nigel, you are such a closet romantic.

Nigel: Alright, hotshot. What’s your favorite, then?

Yindra: Three-way tie. Dreamgirls (mom’s favorite that she passed onto me), The Princess and the Frog, and Get Out.

Who's your favorite techie?

Yindra: Jeff. That man is a gift. He does his job, he does it well, and he minds his own business. Sure, he goes along with the techie nonsense, but do you ever see him starting it? No. I tell you, if I weren’t a lesbian, I’d be in love with that man.

Nigel: That’s sweet. And... interesting.

Yindra: Anyone who knows when to keep their mouth shut and not be an asshole is a winner to me.

Nigel: My favorite is Jade. Don’t get me wrong, I like all of them to some degree and appreciate what they bring to the table. But I mean, really think for a minute about how much Jade does for our class. She costumes everything. It’s like she never stops.

Yindra: Yeah.

Nigel: And the costumes are good. They’re not just good, they’re great. Like people might not know being in the audience, but the attention to detail on this stuff is insane. It’s better than the costuming in some movies I’ve seen. And Jade never half-asses anything, even the smaller items. She knows it’s all a credit to her name, and more genuinely, she wants to make us look good. She wants everyone to feel comfortable and confident, which is awesome.

Yindra: Yep... sure is...

Nigel: Then, of course, she’s super nice. Work ethic aside, she’s just a good person. Some of the best in AAA, I’d say. In fact, in some ways I think she could afford to be harsher, that way at least Maya would leave her alone. Like, she doesn’t need Maya’s input, she knows what she’s doing -- and I’d like to see Maya do a third of what Jade does.

Yindra: For sure, for sure.

Nigel: And she’s quiet, sure, but she is so fun to talk to. When you get her going, she has so many insightful opinions and interesting thoughts on things. Sometimes she does this thing where she gets really intense about a topic, and then it’s like she realizes she raised her voice more than usual, because she’ll pause and then kind of laugh in this little way, and go back to talking at her normal volume, which admittedly is pretty quiet. But I don’t mind, I like quiet. Prefer it, actually. So it’s just like -- what? What, Yindra?

Yindra: Who, me?

Nigel: Yeah. Why are you making that face?

Yindra: Oh, was I? Nothing, nothing...

I have to prove myself worthy and be at the top of my game before I work with the true queen, so I’m glad to have time to prepare myself. But other fun ones, hm... Yindra: Hm... I feel like after three years, we’ve got a pretty good grasp on each other? Like I’ve established credit with the people whom I want to establish cred, but there are definitely people where you know you don’t need to bother. They make who they are loud and clear.

Nigel: Yes. I think we all know who you’re alluding to.

Yindra: That being said, I actually think Darby might be fun to get to know better? She is so nice when you work with her one on one, it’s just... getting her out of the clutches of the plastics. Oh, then like, Jeff. With my lesbian crush on him, it might be nice to see him outside the lighting booth and have a deeper conversation.
