i’m yet to make a post about my AG collection so here’s an attempt!

these photos are from my doll room. it’s kind of a mess and my dolls could do with bring cleaned up due to me leaving them alone for 3 years. (there was a fly in caroline’s hair and a spider in rebecca’s. don’t leave your dolls alone.) so i’ll have to get around to that eventually.

i have 55 dolls, 57 if all goes well wink wink. a few of those are TLC dolls/dupes that i would like to use for customs or to just polish up and sell on if i don’t have a use for them (i have 3 nellie’s and 2 of them have 1 singular messed up eye that makes them easy winkers. weird.) people are often confused as to how i have so many american girl dolls dolls when i don’t live in the US and the answer is quite simple. facebook. shpock. gumtree. ebay. out of my 57 dolls only 17 of them have been bought new. i’ve occasionally bought from the AG site, and got 5 dolls when i went to the store in 2015 (i haven’t been back to america since then, so i made the most of it.) i’ve been collecting since 2014 and buying secondhand dolls is always interesting. it’s painful, but fun to see how many ways kids have messed them up. i’m figuring out what to do with my dupe jess with a nose piercing. i also have a memory of picking up a doll bundle from an interesting woman who made a mini version of her dog from her dogs fur, and 2 of my dolls were bought from a pretty popular AG tuber making them more famous than me.

i stopped keeping up with AG in 2019 but got back into it again so collecting wise, i have much to catch up on. i want to complete my historical collection and goty collection. for historicals i’m missing melody (not for long!), courtney, kirsten, addy, and ruthie. for goty’s i’m missing lindsey, marisol (kind of), sonali, gwen, gabriela, blair, joss, and kira. i’m not concerned with truly me dolls as much, but 58, 54, 21, 26, 38, 49, 80, and 84 are some that have caught my eye. aside from filling out my collection, i’m also interested in diversifying my collection. AGD’s are mostly white and most of the dolls on the UK secondhand market are white too, leading my collection to be not as diverse as i would like.

Takoj, ko sem prejšnji dan vstopal v Avignon in se bližal svojemu prenočišču, sem slutil, da se mi bo kmalu nekje zalomilo, moja prepolna usta po uspešnem dnevu so samo klicala po nesreči in znova se je izkazalo, da se največ zgodi, ko najmanj pričakuješ. Na delu ceste, ki bi naj bil namenjen kolesarjem, je v že tako umazanem, zasvinjanem mestu (grmovja ob pločnikih so spominjala na božične jelke, okrašene s plastičnimi vrečkami in ostalimi odpadki), na vsakih nekaj sto metrov na tleh ležala zlomljena steklenica, kosi stekla pa so ležali po celi širini steze, tako, da je bilo kljub pozornim očem, ki so bila ves čas na pecljih, skoraj neizogibno zapeljati čez njih. Ne vem, ali je to res bil razlog, saj zvečer nisem posebej preverjal, vendar me je zjutraj, ko sem nameraval odriniti in natovoriti kolo, prijazno pozdravila prazna zadnja zračnica. Naslednjih postopkov, pri katerih sem eno uro izgubljal živce in na sebe spravil več olja kot mehanik, ne bom posebej opisoval, sem pa pri menjavi nekako uspel prebosti novo zračnico in se tako znajti v skoraj brezupnem položaju. Vlačiti polno natovorjeno kolo s prazno gumo po mestu, ki ga ne poznaš (v soboto), ni ravno stvar, ki bi mi vlivala preveč navdušenja. Ker pa se me očitno drži neke vrste fortuna, sem ugotovil, da se eno ulico stran nahaja bike shop, ki je odprt še do pol enih. "You saved my life" sem nenehno ponavljal prijaznemu prodajalcu, ki mi je v trenutku zamenjal zračnico, poštimal bremze in nacentriral kolo, kljub temu, da še nisem prav zavedal, koliko me je res rešil in da sem se za las izognil katastrofi in mučnemu gnitju v mestu do ponedeljka. Potem, ko sem bil nared in sestradan zmazal pet rogljičkov v pekarni čez cesto, je ura kazala 12:30. Čakalo me je še 170 km. In, ko ima hudoč mlade, se dogajajo res zabavne reči. Ko skušam nadeti očala, se mi le-ta prelomijo v roki (to se zgodi, ko poskrbiš za vse ostalo, pravih očal pa ne kupiš, ker se ti ne zdi vredno...). Spet padem v svoj svet, tunel okrog mene izbriše vse podobe, zasliši se Dopplerjev efekt zvonca na otroškem kolesu, sprehajalci in kolesarji na stezi so kot figure v kakšni stari retro igrici, kjer se moraš čim hitreje izmikati kockastim prikaznim, ki ti presekajo pot. Znajdem se 10 km pred ciljem, ko me premami želja, da bi se utaboril prej, zato prečesavam kampe v pristaniškem mestu, kjer igrajo na karto udobja. Čas se mi izteka, ura bo kmalu 9, spet se mi gre za preživetje, ampak košček zemlje za eno noč, 45€?? Ne, hvala. Rad si sicer kdaj privoščim nepotreben luksuz, ampak te igre se ne grem...Sklenem narediti še tistih 10 km do prvotnega cilja. Grizem bilanco in gledam, kako se sonce počasi utaplja in spušča za seboj mračno zaveso. Kar naenkrat je konec enopasovnice in spet se znajdem sredi hitre ceste, stegna se pregrevajo, številke na ekranu se vztrajno odštevajo. Upanje, da je zame še kakšno prosto mesto z dvema drevesoma, je tako močno, da bi se verjetno zjokal na mestu, če bi me odslovili. Prispem v kamp. Tam leži zelenica. Tuš, prekrasen tuš, ki spere vso umazanijo, ki se je prilepila kože. Ponovno sem se rodil...iz vode, čist, nedolžen.

Na mojo srečo so Francozi nori na svoje "abricots". Oprtam si vreče s sadjem in ostalimi pripomočki in iščem svoj prostor pod soncem na širni peščeni plaži, ki me spominja na stare francoske filme. Sem otrok Dalmacije, rasel sem pod skalo, ob skali in na skali, zato me nagonsko vleče h kamnitim valobranom. "Ne, nisi zato tukaj. Pred mano se dve punci zabavata na napihljivih blazinah in čofotata po vodi, v daljavi se vidi mahanje z loparji in odbijanje žogic, radostno brcanje žoge in preprosto skupinsko poležavanje in nastavljanje soncu. Tukaj, na tej plaži, v tem trenutku v času, človek srečno in brezskrbno sobiva s sabo in sočlovekom. Saj, ko je zunaj v naravi, nima razloga biti nesrečen ali potrt. Narava mu daje mu občutek, da je slišan in razumljen, da je del tega, kar ga obdaja, je del morja, vetra in sonca. Daje mu brezpogojno ljubezen in od njega ne zahteva ničesar v zameno - razen spoštovanja in nežnosti. Sprašujem se, kdaj je človek tako kruto prerezal popkovino z naravo in se odločil, da v njegovem svetu zanjo ni prostora? Ali je bilo to morda takrat, ko je našel srečo v temu, da si je prilastil drevo, reko, polje, konja, človeka...? Ali takrat, ko je nehal verovati v bogove zemlje, vode ali zraka in je človekovo dušo zaklenil v temnico in ji pokazal edino "pravo pot". Ali se je zgodilo takrat, ko je brat prvič zaklal brata v imenu "domovine" in časti??? Ko gledam take prizore, kjer so pred obličjem morja in neba vsi enak in delijo skupno srečo, si razbijam glavo z mislijo, ali je pot, ki jo trenutno izbira človeštvo, res nujna in ali je takšno sožitje na dolgi rok zanj res nemogoče. Ali verjamemo, da za nas obstaja misija, ki je večja od tega, kar nas obdaja? Da smo mi vredni več kot vse, kar je okoli nas - naš stvarnik? Da nam ni treba poslušati, ampak samo ukazovati? ...The answer my friend, is blowing in the wind. The answer is blowing in the wind...

Naposled sem le našel čas, da se odzovem na objavo, ki jo je pred kratkim naredila moja dobra prijateljica Maja, o meni, o naju, o nas. Namreč, menim, da ima zelo malo ljudi v času svojega življenja to čast, slišati tako izbrane besede iz ust nekoga drugega, če imajo srečo, se najde kdo, stoječ pred njihovo krsto, ki uspe z zadnjimi besedami vendarle osmisliti njegovo življenjsko pot. In najti take besede za sočloveka je zelo pogumno in plemenito dejanje, ki ga ni zmožen vsak in, če želi biti iskreno, zahteva od tistega, ki jih je izgovoril, najprej popolno sprejemanje in razumevanje samega sebe. Nemogoče je namreč iskati in pričakovati v ljudeh naklonjenost, dokler je najprej ne najdemo v sebi, pričakovati, da bodo njihova dejanja ustrezala našim predstavam, dokler sploh ne vemo, kdo smo in kaj sploh hočemo. Ko sem objavo prebral prvič in drugič in tretjič, sem bil globoko ganjen, obenem pa sem dobil občutek nelagodja, saj se mi zdi, da si česa takega premnogokrat ne bi zaslužil slišati (tudi sam sem bil vedno tisti, ki sočloveku z besedami ob pravem trenutku nikoli ni znal pomagati pri osmišljanju sebe, saj tega niti sam nisem čutil)., Maja, bi pa se ti nekako zahvalil ali oddolžil tako, da ti povem, da s tem, kar sem že opisoval v prejšnjem odstavku, z vsemi pristnimi izkušnjami, ki jih doživljam na poti, z vsemi telesnimi in duševnimi ovirami, ki jih premagujem, ob zavedanju potreb, ki dejansko nekaj štejejo, poslušanju narave okoli mene, prihajam do končne sprave s samim sabo - morda je to pot (ali ena izmed poti), odgovor na to, ali zgolj njegova zasnova, kar si omenila v prvem odstavku svoje objave.
