Understand The Art Of Embossing & Its Mysterious Features
The basic notion of custom embosser is familiar to most people; you've undoubtedly seen it on an expensive stamp or stationary. Emboss means "to elevate or depict surface patterns in relief," and the idea of creating art or paintings from impressions is not new. Embossed seals began in old-world custom and technology, and they have withstood the test of time to remain current and in demand today.
Although materials, uses, and processes have changed, the essential concept of creating in relief or recess has not. Nonetheless, producing a custom embosser foil seal is the most difficult custom-printed product for our clients. We attempt to explain some of the most mysterious features of embossed seals below.
Tumblr media
Artwork supplied
We now employ sophisticated technologies such as graphic design software to produce the art that forms the plate that compresses against the metallic foil to shape the impression or embossment. Embossed seals are possibly the most perplexing since you must look at the pattern on a flat board and imagine it sticking out from the screen.
As previously said, visualising a design in relief might be difficult. A nice place to begin is to imagine the work of art in black and white, not in grayscale with shading or gradients, but in black and white. Outline each item in your design, such as text or lines, in black or white. Recognise that different things must be distinct for embossing.
Examining a coin might also assist you in visualising the design on an imprinted foil seal. If desired, a high level of detail can be obtained, although faces, landscapes, and intricate pictures must be minimised if the design is to imprint clearly. Fewer, stronger strokes imprint more crisply and provide a less crowded appearance. Simple ideas result in gorgeous embossed seals.
Blind Embossing
A blind embossing seal has no ink; it is merely foil stamped with a pattern. Perhaps another way to consider it is that a transparent or colourless ink is used rather than no ink because some seals include both a blind embossed area and an inked portion. In certain circumstances, it is a two-ink plate seal for quotation and manufacturing reasons.
Tumblr media
Debossing
Debossing is the converse of embossing in that the pattern is depressed or indented into the outermost layer of the foil or other material. Sticky Business only uses ink on the recessed areas of the seal, and the foil is embossed.
Bleeding and Borders
Unless otherwise indicated, bespoke embossed seals usually include a border. It's considered a bleed if you don't want the border, even if it's a flat foil that extends to the cutline. A bleed is often defined as ink going over the edge of a label, but bespoke embossed seals are a class of their own!
In the art of embossing your stationery, you need to know
While the art of letter writing may not be as popular as it once was, numerous individuals who prefer writing letters make their art as beautiful as it is important. Using an embosser is one method. This stamp-like device presses raised graphics onto paper using plates. Embossers, of course, may be used for more than just adornment.
Embossing seal are tiny, portable presses that are frequently constructed of metal. These materials, however, cannot be embossed with a paper embosser. Artists who work with various materials to produce patterns often use various tools.
Even if you are not required to leave an official mark on legal papers, you continue utilising an embosser at your job and home. Embossing your stationery is ideal whether you're mailing formal invitations, business communication, or notes to pals. You may emboss envelopes or the message itself, creating personalised stationery.

How much stuff are the Barnes’ coming back with from Paris? Designer bags, expensive jewelry, custom clothes, priceless art, French snacks, all the toys Bee can carry
Tumblr media
Pairing: Mafia!Bucky x Reader, daughter nicknamed Bumblebee.
CW: Fluff
AN: Unbetad.
Tumblr media
You almost made it through the trip without Bucky and Bee splurging on jewelry, clothes, and toys. Almost.
You should have known the duo was plotting something when you caught them whispering over breakfast. You were biting into a warm, flaky croissant—that had no right being so delicious—when you saw Bee cup her hands around her mouth and say something to Bucky.
She giggled at your "what are you two talking about" and then wiggled off her chair and fled the breakfast table. You're pretty sure she mumbled 'It's a secret' on her way out.
Bucky was just as tight-lipped. Instead of giving you a hint, he pressed those sealed, soft lips of his into the curve of your neck and shrugged.
"Whatever you two are planning, the answer is no." You slid him a glare, no real heat in your gaze.
Bucky laughed, his rich baritone sent a shiver down your spine. "We'll see Malyshka."
"I mean it Bucky." All that got you another was kiss and a slap on your ass.
The rest of the day flew by, the luxurious itinerary packed with exclusive tours of museums, historic landmarks, and breathtaking sights.
Lunch was at a small restaurant that overlooked the river—Bucky ordered for you and Bee, his French flawlessly rolled off his tongue. He taught her a few phrases, you listened as her small, adorable voice stumbled over the words while you finished your meal.
Bee was still practicing when Bucky stopped in front of an upscale boutique. Your eyes narrowed in suspicion as you took in the name embossed on the sign above the door. A quick look around and you realize you're in the midst of Paris's high-end shopping district.
Before you could protest, Bee let out a sweet, soft "pwease Mommy."
Bucky followed, his handsome face the epitome of faux innocence. "Please Malyshka."
They could see your already weak resolve crumbling.
It's hard enough to say no when you're facing down one of them. Damn near impossible when you're gazing up at your husband and his mini-me. You sighed. Rolled your eyes. Tried your best to ignore their matching grins and the way Bee bounced with excitement, clapping her hands.
And you gave in because how could you not.
"Ugh. Fine. But you don't have to buy everything I look at Bucky."
A grin slid across his lips and he casually lifted one shoulder while opening the door for you. "I might be able to show some restraint."
He bought any and everything you looked at.
You showed a dress or a piece of jewelry interest for more than a few seconds and it was yours. Bucky knows you too well. He has your preferences memorized to the point he can pick out what you want better than you can.
Every time you turned your back on your husband, he was adding something else to the tab.
Bee was no better.
She is her father's daughter and she proved it when she swept through store after store.
She got three new friends for Mr. Tato because he needs them Mommy, several toys for herself, a stunning necklace for you, and a watch for her Papa. Some souvenirs for Frankie (Bucky tried to put those back, you gladly dropped them back into her little cart). A few keepsakes for her beloved Tataie and Bunica.
Bucky had the bags sent to the hotel after you left each store, so you couldn't keep track of how much he was spending. Although you couldn't really stop them, it was like watching a Barnes hurricane sweep through the shopping district, leaving empty stores and ecstatic shop owners in their wake.
You leave Paris with more than you came with. A dizzying number of bags filled with everything you and Bee could ever want. An exquisite painting Bucky is going to surprise you with once you land.
But its the priceless memories of an incredible vacation with your family that you'll cherish forever.

Question for Readers!
I'm an author and I hate signing my books, because I cannot reliably reproduce a pretty, legible signature.
Would you be happy if you asked an author to sign your copy of a book and they broke out one of these things?
And instead of signing with ink embossed a signature into the page of your choice?

WIP: Zaundads2EB (2)
ETA: Nope, that's it. I'm committing to tagging this story as "wip: Zaundads 2 - Electric Boogaloo" now. It amuses me too much to resist (and I only needed the slightest amount of encouragement to decide.)
I'm struggling to get traction on this, so I'm posting a snippet to see if it sparks something.
***
It's not the first time they've had trouble with the enforcers. At the start, when it was just the market, Babette's and a few shacks, no one bothered them. No one cared when they got the elevator to riverside working, and more customers came to Babette's, or when five shacks became twelve buildings. But when it became twenty, when the miners started taking a few days off every week – when they could afford food and a roof over their heads without working every day – then the enforcers started showing up. They'd walk around during the day and demand people's names, checking it against their list of indebted miners, threatening to escort them back to the mine.
They tried to bully people out of their homes, looking for a fight, looking for an excuse to lock people up, but no one was stupid enough to fight back. They would stand there, silently, and ignore the threats the way they ignored any other topsider foolishness.
Vander still remembers the enforcers stomping around the market, claiming everything they'd built was illegal and that they were clearing the land for the owner. Vander remembers clenching his fists, ready for a fight but Silco had gently touched his wrist and then stepped forward.
"For the owner?" Silco asked, smooth voice deceptively calm and polite. "Did the owner give you an Authority to Act?"
"Of course," the taller one snarled through his mask. In his goggles, Silco's reflection seemed thin and fragile.
"That's very confusing. He also signed an Authority to Act over to me," Silco says, pulling out the carefully folded piece of paper from inside his jacket. The paper itself is thick and creamy white, embossed with the red wax seal of the land office. "We have permission to build here."
The enforcer snatches the page out of Silco's hand, and then makes a show of reading it. "Who would give you permission?"
"A generous benefactor. He saw the conditions at the Kiramman Home for Foundlings and wanted to give them hope of a better future. A home."
When Silco insisted on spending money on more land office forms, Vander thought it was a waste of time. Why would they need to get pieces of paper signed and certified? As he watched enforcers angrily shove the page back at Silco and stalk away, he's thankful for Silco's careful, pessimistic planning.

Kurama Samurai Armor Buildlog - The Armor Pt.1
Two years ago (!!!), I embarked on my first sewing cosplay build and first-ever samurai armor project. This was my interpretation of Kurama, the nine-tailed fox from Naruto, and it took about six months from start to finish for the initial version (the final version is pictured below). The design was heavily inspired by the Star Wars Samurai Art figures by Tamashii Nations and the incredible Naruto armor by bakkacosplay!
Tumblr media
This post focuses on the making of the armor, specifically the Dou (chestplate) and Sode (shoulder/upper arm pieces). Future posts will cover the clothing, wig, tails, and makeup.
Planning the Armor
I knew I wanted to use EVA foam for the armor to keep it lightweight and allow maximum flexibility for customization. Up until this project, I primarily designed and 3D-printed armor for commissions, but this one-off design was all about creative freedom.
To refine the silhouette and determine how everything would fit together and attach, I visited the Samurai section at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (NYC) to study the shapes and structures of historical armor. Incorporating Naruto’s iconic stomach seal and other subtle nods to the series was a priority, and these elements heavily influenced the final design. I mocked up the concept in Procreate, highlighting key design elements to ensure everything worked cohesively.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I started with a cardstock mockup to prototype the shapes and details. Cardstock is cheaper and more forgiving than EVA foam, making it perfect for trial runs.
The Dou (chestplate / cuirass)
With the base shape decided, I digitized the outline and added design details. I planned to use my laser cutter for the base design, carving by hand afterward to create a more weathered and textured look. For laser cutting, I created a vector file in Fusion360, though Illustrator would have worked too.
The original design felt a bit flat, so I incorporated the swirling cloud motif of the Akatsuki and added fiery edges for a dynamic, layered aesthetic. Digitizing this took forever but was totally worth it. (If I were to redo this now, I’d use Illustrator for speed!)
Tumblr media
The laser cutting process required some trial and error to engrave rather than cut through the foam. Once dialed in, it was smooth sailing. Fresh off the laser cutter, the pieces looked flat, so I used a dremel and soldering iron to add depth and dimension. Each segment consisted of a base piece and a trim piece, which I glued together with contact cement after detailing. Rounding the edges with a dremel softened the look and tied everything together.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Initially, I wanted to carry the cloud pattern onto the backer pieces behind the main armor but found it too visually busy. Instead, I gave these pieces a hammered metal texture using a dremel with a round sanding tip, which allowed the detailed pieces to stand out more.
Tumblr media
Sode (shoulder guards)
The process for the Sode (袖) followed a similar path: paper mockup, digitization, laser cutting, and detailing. I added a neckguard and upper chest plate to support the armor and hide attachment points. Here, I prioritized wearability and mobility over strict historical accuracy—an essential balance for costumes.
Tumblr media
For the Sode pattern, I used a press rather than carving. I designed a stamp in Fusion360 with tiled motifs inspired by Naruto: the Village of the Leaf symbol, Naruto’s swirl, and the Nine-Tails. The stamp was 3D-printed in PETG for durability and used with an arbor press to emboss the foam. Heating the foam before pressing ensured clean transfers, but it meant waiting to shape the pieces until after sealing to preserve the designs.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, I didn’t document this part well, but I’ll create a dedicated post about embossing and sealing techniques in this series! Below is an image of the Sode after weathering and base-coating with metallic black, showing the embossed patterns clearly.
Tumblr media
Neckguard and Chest Underlay
These pieces were made from 10mm foam for extra strength since they support much of the armor. Like the other parts, they were laser cut and detailed with a soldering iron. The underlay featured a hexagonal pattern with small circles, marking where I would later hand-sew accents.
Tumblr media
For texture, I used a rock to create a natural, organic finish—simply heating the foam and "beating it up" with a textured surface. This technique was quick and gave a subtle, realistic look.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That wraps up Part 1 of the armor! Stay tuned for Part 2, where I’ll dive into the other armor pieces. Feel free to drop any questions below, and I’ll answer them as soon as I can!

Hellraiser "Hell Priestess" statue and art print, (collectibles, 2016)
.
The role of Hell Priest, colloquially known as "PinHead", of Clive Barker's Hellraiser universe being taken on by a woman dates back to the very beginning of the franchise, in the book The Hellbound Heart.
Tumblr media
Before Jamie Clatyon's portrayal of the Hell Preist in the 2022 Hellraiser movie, the role was taken over by Kristy Cotton, the protagonist of the original Hellraiser movie, in the Clive Barker approved, canon, Hellraiser comic series.
Not long after, Sideshow Collectibles would release a officially licensed Hell Priestess statue and art print. Whether this is a representation of Kristy in the role, the character in the original book or another, unknown, damned soul is not known.

I wish Tophat Jones had more fanart or returns randomly in Rick and Morty in a new commercial like someone brought him back to life as a cyborg or something.
At least he has a pin with a Fye gimmick snacks.
I kind of want a Etsy plush of Tophat Jones but I wish he had a tiny bunny tail to match his Trix rabbit like ears since he feels like a fusion of both cereal mascots.
But I wonder how old is Tophat Jones?
I know Lucky the Leprechaun is 11 years old.
Lucky the Leprechaun Shares His Magical Origin Story in “The Magic Inside” – Advertising Week
Found a Amino for Mr. Tophat Jones and I always liked one off characters that might have died.
But I want his custom plush similar to the real Trix the Rabbit plush with the real Lucky the Leprechaun.
I always liked one off characters due to them being mysterious and wanting to know more about them but might have the character die, the creator hates them to delete them, or just forgets about them to later remember, and might have the character removed for personal reasons.

The genderbend version of Mr. Tophat Jones with other characters.
I imagine this character randomly returning but had a white with orange rabbit bunny tail added to his character design that wasn't there like someone revived him and added things to this character like Mr. Tophat Jones has a Squanchy like form where he's more monstrous.
Have this Mr. Tophat Jones weakness changed like if you stomach cut him open it doesn't work to heal up quick or he has a stomach similar to King K Rool.
Where his weakness is still eating the cereal as a distraction but you have to cut off his tail.
I had a short dream about Mr. Tophat Jones having a monstrous form.
(6/8/2025)
I imagine Mr. Tophat Jones new monstrous form like Giga Bowser in melee and have him attack with the cereal.
GIGA BOWSER . INTRO . SUPER SMASH BROS. MELEE . GAMECUBE/Wii - YouTube
Maybe have the play on the cereal mascot killer and I'm surprised Mr. Tophat Jones isn't a Tumblr sexyman character if this character is a adult.
I would love it to be a female one off character scientist that even Rick forgets exists and have her name be forgettable that but she has a real name that the characters forget or say another name.
Like Ms. Dr. Who Are You?
Like Earthworm Jim's Princess What's Her-Name.
Have this one off female scientist just make new one off characters and items to fight or bring back old one off characters whether or not they are canon dead like it's impossible but she made it happen.
Thinking about making Ms. Dr. Who Are You? real name Harriet Spencer.
And make the Harriet the Spy as a joke wrong name guess and reference at the same time.
Then have Ms. Dr. Who Are You? or Harriet Spencer die just to have her return again which breaks the one off character rule so now she's just a background villain character that only shows up when the show runs out of ideas.
