Still working on/concepting woth Rootball/Affliction.

It is a living, sentient plant consisting of an expansive root system. It uses these roots to spread to other living hosts, mere skin contact is enough to plant an active seed. Thankfully it only spreads at specific times, during which it blooms gorgeous flowers to try and attract different species.

It mainly preys on humans, as they are the richest source of nutrients that can be encountered on the moons it resides.

There’ve been some phishing attempts and a student emailed the library saying “I got an email saying IT was disabling my university account” like okay?? ask IT about it? The entire department publicly tasked with handling computer- and account-related issues????

simple mini reference for canary and rootball.

canary [left] was the first crewmate to come into contact with the rootball entity and went missing. months later his old crew found him shambling about the facility; unfortunately for them, it was no longer canary in that suit but instead a voracious root system of unknown origins.

The single crewman that made it out alive reported it to the company as a new entity by the name of Rootball; research is still ongoing and not much else has been documented.

i personally dont mind early access or the like esp with how hard it is right now (also disabilities, social issues/safety, mental health etc.)((though i understand folks who dislike it in this community, too.))

However its genuinely so aggravating and absurd to see custom content creators use gen ai images in their cc *charging* people, and without ever disclosing the use of gen ai either.

No integrity or respect for those who support them.

I understand that creating content is time intensive (art is my fulltime job) but if you have to take those kind of “shortcuts” maybe you need to come up with a whole other solution to your workflow instead, to begin with. Use sites with free resources, monthly paid resources, collab with artists if it feels like something is out of your skillset or takes too long. Have some integrity, if not for the state of the world or yourself, at least for the every day people who support you.

These creators are also never upfront about where/how these images came to be so its bordering fraudulent/scam behaviour since customers understandibly assume everything they pay for is made by the creator, which it is not. Youre misleading normal people, not corporate entities, who are putting forth a lot of good will into supporting your “work”. Theyre the reason youre able to work in this fashion, it allows you to use your skillset and live off of it in this way.

Especially in this hobby space that was created on freely shared resources largely. Especially in times like this to have people make a point to support art/3d model related projects to ensure that the content they enjoy can keep being created is HUGE gift. Its something to be so greatful for with how hard things have been for everyone (income, etc). There are many other ways people could get your creations and they can also just wait, but they choose to support you.

These people respect you and put forth money to help you continue being able to have a very niche kind of self employed job, if you respect your supporters you dont sneakily sell them gen ai shit in turn.

If I were in charge of the Dead By Daylight team.

I would have the Entity show up after the Ultimate Custom Night torture had been going on for a while. It asks all the spirits of William Afton's victims and the people close to the in-universe Freddy's franchise to vote on whether to keep his torment, and by extention theirs, going. Their other option is to release at least one version of William into the Entity's control and attempt to move on. All of them are promised, truthfully, that all facets of William will not come back to haunt them again if the Entity claims at least one of his Variants.

It's unanimous to surrender William to the Entity, or pretty damn close.

I believe most versions of William, if given any choice in the matter, would choose to go with the Entity rather than stay in UCN. After being locked in a dark room for three decades, barely able to move or think, not sure how long UCN held onto him, he would fully expect to be in this for the long haul when he shook this new devil's hand. The Entity promises him a realm full of toys to tinker with, other Killers to meet, victims to chase, and some versions of him would hesitate.

But most would throw their lot in with the devil they don't know over staying with The One. The One who will not let go. The One He Should Not Have Killed.

I like to imagine she sits with Old Man Consequences for a while and chooses where she wants to go next, searching for, hungering for... Something. She's not sure what. But eventually she accepts that she's free of Him, his shadow. The Entity keeps its promise that He's not her problem anymore and she always comes back to that red lake, listening to the lapping of the water and the old man's stories. When he sees fit to speak.
