I was trying to get a photo of a lacewing. It got spooked by my camera, tried to fly away, and immediately got grabbed out of the air by a damsel fly. I feel vaguely guilty, but it led to some of the most dramatic shots I've ever taken lol

not to be projecting but to me mic yells at cockroaches as she hits them. she has a HATRED for them. she calls them a bitch

imagine being oj, telling her that she could maybe clean like, the parts of the hotel that are not usually used, and you can hear distant yelling and curses, you go to check what's going on and it's mic hitting one of those with a broom as she literally just will break the ground

Made myself coffee while doing an exam for uni and didn't realized it had a cockroach in it util it touched my lips I'm not even disgusted anymore bro I'm just sad this work is due tomorrow bro I have other stuff to worry about

A huge moth just got jammed into our air conditioning (the one above the couch), died loudly with this horrible whirring sound, and then its wings shot out and landed on my shoulder. Safe to say not a pleasant experience

Concept: tarantula-like avatar of the Web who is absolutely petrified of the Vast, because tarantulas are very fragile and susceptible to fall damage, and they can die from a burst abdomen if they fall even from a relatively short height

(side note: because of this + the fact that tarantulas don’t enjoy being held, you should generally avoid picking up/holding tarantulas if possible! however, if you absolutely have your heart set on holding one or you genuinely have to pick one up for whatever reason, please at least be sure to hold it very close to the ground to reduce the risk of it getting injured or killed if it falls or you drop it)

the twitter post about how it’s illegal to rescue baby sea turtles and how mad people got about it reminded me of this time I was hiking with a friend and I was like “ooh a parasitic wasp is getting ready to lay eggs in that snail” and she FREAKED OUT and started separating them and then I FREAKED OUT ALSO because I was worried about the wasp getting hurt and we started arguing over whether the ethical thing to do is to help the helpless snail (her take) or let the wasp kill and lay eggs in the snail because she’s a mom who needs to feed her babies and the snail probably has venom in it already anyway (my take)

anyway I’m pretty sure stuff like this made her think I was a serial killer or something but that’s another story for another day

Never thought I’d see a spotted lanternfly but I did. I had to kill it bc it’s invasive, but hoo boy they’re BIG!
