CWs!”Block Tales” Embodiments
NOTE: The Embodiments askable on my @blog-tales-decasquad Ask Blog.
Tumblr media
(EDITS: None yet…)
Brace yourself: I am figuring out how to describe things as I go. If it’s confusing, that may be why… ,:D
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Context for how the Embodiments exist in CWs!Robloxia:
The CWs!Embodiments are like “gods” *almost*. Each one representing multiple things! Their names are the thing they most represent/are associated with… With HATRED, of course, basically being the most powerful Embodiment.
Greed, Solitude, Fear, and Hatred.
…There are many other gods that represent lots of other things, or even similar things to them.
The Embodiments in Deca’s Mind are more of—children to these Embodiments, in a way. They are vaguely-aware of what those main-Embodiments know about. After Deca’s scarring experience with the Ghostwalker.
Since CWs is more of an overall-Roblox AU, with multiple Worlds connected to it (each world having EVER-SO-SLIGHTLY different rules), the Embodiments exist in a sort of non-physical existence within each and every Being. But Animals and Insects aren’t really of use to them…
The True Embodiments are physically in their own Pocket-Dimension, you could say. Usually they only interact with Mortals through Dreams/Cursed Objects.
*Though “Child”-Embodiments are usually in parts of a Persons Mindscape. Unless awoken, they will NEVER interact with the Owner of the Mind unless the Owner touches one of said-Cursed Objects. They might sometimes mildly affect dreams, but that is it.
Even though Miniworlds/Gameworlds are have a similar-purpose to a Pocket Dimension… “Mini/Gameworlds” are far more limited in size.
Homeworlds are larger, and very often the size of entire Planets (if not LITERALLY being entire planets)… But a Dimension, is often a lot larger than that (even if it’s a cave that’s cramped in places).
Dimensions also likely have their own Biomes (Yes my brain is thinking of Minecraft. No there isn’t a simple Build-your-own Nether Portal method to visit an Embodiment)
Pocket-Dimensions are also very weird. They may have different rules with Gravity/Time/Even Space. The ground could literally be Flat, or Gravity could be affected by objects/pieces of ground, with their own pull. Kind of like how in a certain-Mario Game (Mario Galaxy I think?), there are these other planets you can get to in levels…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Each Embodiment’s Dimension:
HATRED’s Dimension would appear similar to the one in Block Tales. (The few amalgamated-Souls that are there, amalgamated to nothing, were likely victims to a FATE WORSE THAN DEATH :}) (Don’t worry tho they only end up there if they Corrupt into oblivion in a veeery specific way...)
A Child-of-HATRED would have ITS part of the Mindscape appear similar to that, though ITS Mindscape-Area would reflect the Owner of the Mind’s HATES.
GREED’s Dimension would also look alike to the one in Block Tales. Though it would probably be a Cave for the most part, with the Hands of Greed being all over the place.
A Child-of-GREED would have its part of a Mindscape reflect whatever the Mind’s Owner is greedy for. If that’s power? It would probably have Weapons/Magic Items lying in treasure piles. If it’s money? You can guess. If it’s… Recognition? Or Praise? The enemies/creatures there likely try to manipulate anyone around with that, until THE CHILD comes…
SOLITUDE’s Dimension. Lonely Caves, constantly-quacking Ducks in THE LIGHT-VOID, for some reason?… Also some Watery Cave Areas.
Children-of-Solitude have a similar Mindscape-Area to this. If there is a specific animal aside from a Duck the Owner may relate to, those Animals may be there too. Regardless of whether it fits the area, and is aquatic or not.
FEAR’s Dimension. Forest, Doors, and Stairs; both leading up into the sky, and down into its own WHITE/DARK-VOID… The few creatures there will run from anyone who comes too near—Any larger-ones will be the reason one feels FEAR though.
Children-of-Fear also have their places reflect … yadda-yadda you know the words.
THANK YOU FOR COMING TO MY YAP SESSION! I am thoroughly bored (as of writing this). Feel free to ask questions either in Asks, or Comments on this post.

Decasquad Embodiments context here we goo:
Full Explanation on the Original(CWs)-Embodiments:
TL;DR: The Embodiments you ask on the Blog-Tales-DecaSquad Blog, are “Children” (in a way) of the Embodiments they are named after. They reflect the Embodiments they are named after, but are not the TRUE Embodiments really.
The TRUE Embodiments are gods that can affect any and all living people in CWs!Robloxia—if people do not watch their emotions, and/or touch a Cursed-Object.
After the scars left behind from the Ghostwalker-situation in Deca’s previous-Universe, they just sit in Deca’s mindscape as Deca’s “Inner-Demons”… Because It touched the Cursed-Sword and ‘woke them up’.
...
HATRED now also goes by the name ABHORRENCE, because IT decided that was a more fitting name for ITSELF. Also because ABHORRENCE is needlessly-extra-
IT likes disguising ITSELF as a Robloxian, despite literally all of the Embodiment’s knowing what IT is. Often IT tries to hide ITS true motive in other things… All for the sake of HATRED and DESTRUCTION.
…Also IT just likes pretending to be Builderman. Not sure why. IT also likes tormenting Conscience.
GREED was initially going to go by Rapacity, but it hated the spelling, and decided not to copy “ABHORRENCE”.
Its body is made up of whatever objects it finds/forms out of its arms. If Greed wanted, it could turn itself into a Snake or a Dragon. All it’d need to do is grab the parts, and mess around… :)
…It likes any and all trinkets it can find. It doesn’t know why, but it isn’t very picky.
EXILE is SOLITUDE’s “new”-name. It also goes by ISOLATION…
It is still a blob, but with three eyes now; and octopus-arms sticking out of it. It can form more arms at-will.
Sometimes it cries when SORROW cries. Since being close by and seeing it crying occasionally makes EXILE cry too. They’re crying-buddies. (Poor Conscience)
FEAR is now ANXIETY. Though it often just goes by FEAR, because the word “Anxiety” gives it anxiety.
It is more bug-like, and has legs now!… Somehow it is still good at disguising as a tree though.
Genuinely has a 50% chance of breaking down the second HATRED exists near it. Poor thing has trauma from IT. And IT enjoys tormenting FEAR.
...
OC Explanation Speedrun!:
Delusion (A more-fitting name is “IGNORANCE”, actually)
“Hurhurhur… Let’s go do this and ignore that it’s a bad idea for multiple reasons, and refuse to think about why it’d be so bad!!”
Conscience’s 2nd worst-enemy. Greed’s #1 wingman.
Form is a bit like a Robloxian, except tall, and with a weirdly-shaped head that looks like an upside-down triangle with the tip cut off. It also lacks visible-eyes, and has two hands attached to its head, reminiscent of Fear’s, covering where its eyes should be.
Sorrow (Depresso urchin thingy)
It is sad. And it randomly gets angry and screechy when it’s in a very bad mood.
Conscience (Right and wroooonnnggg compassss)
It is tired. Especially since it’s basically looking after 6 angry/rude crying/screaming children on its own.
Only Embodiment it can stand being around is FEAR, because at least FEAR will listen MORE OFTEN than the others… Everyone else makes it anxious.
...
(//Let me know if any of this is spelled oddly, or if you want something to be elaborated on! :3)

I love how you mention in your tags here that Lestat is somewhat powerless in s2- or how he is used in the narrative and how different characters use him against each other. Sometimes it feels like Lestat is almost being objectified, if that’s the right word, or maybe things are projected on to him because he’s desirable and has such intense charisma. I do feel like loss of autonomy is such a big theme for him, especially in TVL but also QoTD and beyond, and I’m very interested to see how the show presents that and how seriously they take it (I expect very tbh). It’s pretty unique for a male character to go through some of the things he’s gone through, so I do sort of see the comparison to some gothic heroine characters for that reason, though I think ultimately he goes far outside that as a vampire.
(x)
Oh, he's absolutely objectified in s2, anon. Mm, so there's kind of two things happening, right? On the one hand, you've got Louis genuinely trying to tell this story authentically as he experienced it, but there is also this reality that Lestat has no genuine voice in it beyond a few tokens of love that Louis' held onto - a calling card, a record, a letter. Hell, even Claudia has more than that with her diaries, and so from the get-go we're seeing an impression of Lestat, but what the show does really well is that it lets different intent come into play in the second season.
Louis' retelling of Lestat in the modern timeline is one thing, but he has two alternate retellings, right? One is the goading, provocative, mean one that he tells Daniel in 1973, and the other is Dreamstat who is neither ghost nor memory, but rather a fantasy Louis can control. While it feels like he just pops up, we know a part of Louis does it intentionally because he lets him go intentionally. I've said it a few times, but it's his desire from the s1 finale wrought true - he wanted Lestat dead and he wanted him all to himself, and now he has both. This is a Lestat that he can seek comfort from, that can tell him what he wants to hear, and! Pointedly! Devastatingly! Fuck and kill again! It's not all sweetness for Louis, he wants to project Lestat's image onto other men - a process that's dehumanising not just for the men Louis fucks and kills, but for Lestat too.
At least Louis' is understandable if not justifiable as a trauma response, but Armand has a lot of intent in how he chooses to recount his time with Lestat in Paris, something I think the show does pretty pointedly by including Nicki but having Armand drop Gabrielle. The fact that he and Lestat only almost have sex in the books before Lestat's badly triggered with memories of Magnus, which I talked about a bit here, feels too relevant to the themes the show's exploring for them to change it much? The fact then that Armand would re-write their history so explicitly sexual, even beyond any other edits, definitely lends not only to the literal objectification of Lestat, but feels pretty icky to put it mildly. Again though, he's a fantasy.
But yeah! More to your point, haha, I think s2 did a lot about showing Lestat's perceived power and then deliberately undermining it in a way that both emphasises how much we don't know the real Lestat yet, but as you said, emphasises this throughline with him as not really having a lot of genuine autonomy. Which makes sense! The fact that Rolin wanted the writers to read at least the first four books when starting IWTV I think goes to your point about that, as it really is such a huge part of his arc, like:
IWTV: Voiceless and without a point of view as it's entirely Louis' recounting
TVL: His lack of autonomy in his mortal life then his turning as an abduction and rape allegory, that gets revisited as a trigger point over and over.
QOTD: Akasha abducting him to use him in her plot (and I believe assaulting him too? I'd need to re-read it before I feel I can dive into that tbh).
TTOTBT: Has his physical body literally stolen under misleading terms.
I wrote in my Byronic Hero post that I was going to go into this and then didn't, haha, but this is kind of what I'm talking about with the female gothic vs the male gothic. While rape and physical violation is a huge part of the male gothic subgenre, often being used pretty maliciously as a symbol of corruption and to amplify horror, the violation and desecration of the body is still a really central part of the female gothic too, and it's often explored in different ways.
The female gothic is generally considered to include elements of terror / dread more than horror, and it builds to things like loss of autonomy because it's an experience women know. Lestat's not 'woman-coded' as a character, and he's not a gothic heroine, but he is a protagonist in a female gothic narrative. The result of that is that Anne has included things in his arc that are specifically the most frightening to women, because that's what the female gothic is about, and I think that's what a lot of people get confused in the gothic heroine debates.
Some of Louis' horrors are going to resonate with women. It's not because he's the beaten down housewife, it's because Anne was writing for a female audience, and to build dread and terror for women readers is to utilise things that women specifically understand and find frightening. That's what the female gothic means, and it's why Louis and Lestat are both victim and perpetrator as male protagonists of a female gothic novel series.

on a completely different note. silas’ question about if you torture yourself in selfships made me think of my isekai mahito selfship again because that is almost completely a pure horror world for me lmao
cause like i’ve got two separate ones, right? one where i’m a civilian who can see curses but doesn’t know about the sorcerer world, and then mahito inserts himself into my apartment and we go pretty domestic from there (he’s like a feral cat i try to tame)
but the isekai one is specifically like. i die in a brutal car accident. i wake up in a hospital and i can’t understand anyone and there’s no record of me anywhere. i don’t know what to do, don’t know where to go, and there’s also monsters crawling everywhere that no one seems to be able to see. i’m left to find a support system on my own and get sucked into getou’s cult instead, and then when it’s kenjaku’s turn he takes note of me and offers me to mahito as a new chew toy/test subject, except the isekai process has taken something else from me, my soul. and so mahito takes a heavy interest in this singular person that breaks his theory of how people and curses work to see how much misery they can take (spoiler: so much. but i’m determined to live, both for the sake of living itself and out of spite.)
it’s terrible and brutal and painful for me there and it’s so fun to think about LMAO

Love your Alenoah Hypno Story... Out of curiosity, how different would the story be if Noah has a secret fear of hypnosis, before World Tour... And when Alejandro offered to entrance him, Noah simply BOLTS out of the room... then Noah tries to avoid being left alone with Alejandro, so the Latino can't hypnotize him... I think Alejandro would totally enjoy the challenge and he would feel even more satisfied, when he finally has a chance to entrance Noah (like maybe Alejandro promises not to let Owen get voted off, if Noah would let Alejandro hypnotize him)! 😈
Anon why would you open this plotline up to me it's giving me The Brainworms.
Because Noah having a genuine phobia of hypnosis or something adjacent to it- like a phobia of automatism in general, or just a severe disliking of not having control over himself- suggests that he's experienced something similar before, either first-hand or as a witness. Which means he would have intimate knowledge about the extents Alejandro could hypothetically abuse his talents as a hypnotist to.
I doubt he'd actually bolt away from Alejandro after the other offers to hypnotise him, Noah's a bit more savvy than that (even if he is pretty socially illiterate), so he'd probably just insult the idea and dismissively saunter off- whilst trying his best to breath evenly around the ice in his lungs and quell the terrified shaking of his hands. Alejandro, of course, would notice just how petrified uncomfortable the idea of hypnosis makes Noah, which would only pique his interest and motivate him to try and somehow ensnare the nerd under his control.
Of course, that becomes increasingly difficult when Noah begins to go our of his way to avoid interacting with Alejandro at all, to the point where the two of them are hardly ever within talking distance of each other, let alone left alone together (which is impressively frustrating, given the fact they're essentially trapped on a jet. There's very little space Noah can occupy without encountering Alejandro, and yet he somehow manages to consistently evade the Spaniard). Also, Noah's always surrounding himself with others- namely Owen, but he also begins clinging to Tyler as well. There's safety in numbers, after all. Alejandro would never try anything nefarious in front of potential witnesses.
I like the idea of him incentivising Noah into undergoing hypnosis- either by bargaining his vote/Owen's safety in return for Noah's compliance, or by having the rest of Team Chris help in having Noah "face his fear"- which could be a fun little call back to the Phobia Factor episode in Island.
Because Noah was one of the few contestants who never had to face his fear, and it's super convenient that Alejandro is capable of 'helping' him face it. Really, it'd be doing him a favour.
(i.e. Alejandro tries something nefarious in front of potential witnesses.)
And having the rest of the team around for 'moral support' would pressure him into compliance, because Al is only trying to help, and there's nothing scary about hypnosis, and they'll be right here the whole time, he has nothing to worry about. Any arguments he can conjure up to dismiss the idea come off as him simply being too scared to face his phobia, so his protesting is ignored until he eventually gives in. He's a pretty passive person, all things considered, so Noah wouldn't waste his energy fighting a losing battle when it's easier to just get it over with. Even if the idea has his usually unshakable self trembling with fear.
The thing about hypnosis is that, at it's core, it's about settling someone into an agreeable mindset- that's considerably hard to do when the person you're trying to hypnotise near enough has a panic attack every time they see a pendulum. It'd take a lot more effort on Alejandro's part to actually get Noah to fall into a trance, even with the extra assurance of their company. But eventually, Alejandro's talents win out against Noah's fear (and rationality).
And once he's under the trance, Alejandro ushers the rest of their team from the room, claiming that the ensuing hypnotic process is highly volatile and that their presence could hinder/harm Noah's subconscious- or something along those lines. It's all a lie, of course, but Owen and Tyler are both considerate and naïve enough to trust Alejandro's judgement as neither would ever want to intentionally hurt Noah, so they leave Alejandro alone to do his work.
(If Izzy is still part of the team, Alejandro would convince her to leave by giving her some sort of 'special mission', or by sicking her on Chef for yet another Izzy v. Chef smackdown.)
From there it's a question of whether Noah's deep-rooted phobia hinders the effects of hypnosis to the point where he has a natural resistance to the trance and thus does his best to defy him, or if he's just as susceptible to Alejandro's spell as anyone else and lives out the rest of the competition living in constant paranoia because he could be enthralled at any given moment.
Either way, I doubt someone as terrified opposed to the idea of hypnosis would take Alejandro's attempted breach of his autonomy laying down. He'd react a lot more volatilely, fuelled by his all-consuming fear.
