Top Ten Monster Features (in which I Very Much overthought it all, and have changed the list multiple times)

No Eyes/Multiple eyes ; funnily enough, the features I like most are often things that would most definitely scare me most

Wings ; echoing the above, bc I very much !!! if something flies at me and yet? wings are so effing fascinating

Fangs ; 👀

Multiple appendages ; I feel like this must have something to do with multitasking✨ & I'm not even thinking about the bedroom, just - carrying multiple things! Climbing! Grabbing things off of different shelves at the same time!

Inhuman Ears ; points, webbed edges, floppy, pronged, furred - while I am not a hugely touchy person oh my goodness, ears~

Tails ; along the same lines as that multitasking bit, but also any kind of tail that can twine around someone? Yes.

Horns ; Pretty, but functional thank you

Flora ; leaves, flowers, branches, fungi - between ears and these, I could most definitely become a touchy person

Scales ; listen, many monsters with scales may like to bask in warmth, and HEY, I definitely have that in common with 'em, we can bask together

Claws ; because claws are elegant af

Hi there! I'm ngl, it took me a moment to figure out what you were asking about (what does hf mean?? went through my head, lol) But oops! I accidentally hit the 'h' key instead of the 'g'! It was meant to be gf, but I was on a roll with queuing, and I probably wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't pointed it out.

Saw you haven't been active lately, and I'm not here to demand you return or anything lol--be wherever your life asks you to be right now! :) I just wanted to say your work has given me much, much joy for MONTHS. I visit your blog again and again hahah, and although I don't have the means to support you yet, your pieces have stuck with me so much!! I'm always thinking about your characters + universe! Seriously, I can't pinpoint what it is about your writing, it is mystical.

AH, gracious, you hit me right in the feels, Anon 😭 I always get all choked up whenever I receive messages like these cue that Kakashi Hatake gif of him reading 'i love you' out loud & damn near combusting and I'm utterly thankful that no one is currently around to witness the ridiculous face I'm making, lol. Hey, sorry, a while ago I read this fic and I don't remember who wrote it, I thought maybe you might recognize it? Human reader works in medic bay of an alien spaceship and treats high-ranking alien officer after he gets injured. He's ~9 feet tall and his skin is midnight-black speckled with white like stars, and he's really stern and grouchy but secretly is really subby and being bossed around, and he and reader enter a dom/sub relationship. I think alien's name started with O, like Orion, Ophiuc, smth like that. Does it sound familiar?

Ahhh, I'm so sorry Anon, I honestly don't know! 😩 Aliens stories are definitely not my go-to-area for reading, and I can say with complete certainty that I have not read anything close to this one. If anyone comments or reblogs with the info, I'll pass it along, but:

Well hello WIP Fairy!! You know what, this ask came at a perfect time because today is my 2 year anniversary for this blog. Two years of my stories!

"You brought me here on purpose. You brought me through, and told me I was in danger, but I wasn't. You said I'd been caught in the crossfire, but I wasn't-"

“You are,” he starts, but cringes away when she leaps to her feet, scattering grey-blue dirt over his shoes and the hems of his trousers.

“Now! Now I am! But I wasn’t then! You brought me with you on a whim, because, what? You liked the look of me? I made you laugh?”

“I was lonely!” He shouts and he wants to reach for her, his hands are grasping, held out but not closing the distance. “I was alone, and you smiled, and, and you laughed and I thought, why not give you an adventure? Isn’t that what humans want? Isn’t that what all those stories you’re so fond of mention?”

“Yes, but-”

“Wasn’t I doing you a favor?” He asks, pleads, voice fracturing, knees beginning to buckle. He looks like he’s thinking about kneeling, about beseeching her like some lovelorn fool and two weeks ago she would have bought it. Hell, three days ago she would have bought it and fallen into his arms. “Didn’t I? I gave you-”

“You took my choice away from me,” she says viciously, backing away when he stumbles forward. He’s still reaching, still falling apart at the seams, but the look on her face when she takes another step back finally makes his hands drop. “Loving those stories or not, you never gave me the choice. You made it look like you were saving me when you were trapping me here.”

“I didn’t-”

“I have ears! I heard everything they said. The window to travel back to earth is closing and we’re a long fucking ways away from any of the places I could get safely through. And what happens, do you think, if you’re captured and I’m with you here?"

Just curious, do your characters have birthdays? If so, is there any sort of reasoning behind them (date/season/birth stone/etc)? Hope you're doing OK and sending lots of love!

Hm, so, it's a little complicated. In most cases I can't say an actual birth date, as many of my fav creatures to write about are "ageless" (fae, demons, deities, etc). I might have a birthdate written down offhand somewhere - maybe for Honor or Pyre? But as to the rest, I'm more likely to have a season in mind.

I think about their formative memories, or stories their caregivers might have told about when they were born to get a better sense of them, but my head is not built for numbers, so actual dates?? 😅 Even tho I'm sure Honor at least, has an actual birthdate, I cannot for the life of me remember it, lol. ..I think it was in Autumn.

I do have a lot of worldbuilding for the months in Pyre and Arroven's universe, and a currently unreleased bit about star signs in my Faerie universe (I want to know my Fae star sign, dangit, don't you?!) so I would love to do more with birthdays! I just haven't hammered out those details yet. One day!!

Top 5 Signs of Affection (that I give)

Acts of Service ; Doing chores with someone, washing & drying dishes, dusting while someone sweeps, doing prep or cooking while someone else does the opposite - if we clean together, dangit I feel some affection lol

Being Alone Together ; or like.. is it parallel play? Idk. Spending time in the same room or place, not having to fill the silence or watch something

Small touches ; sitting outside with someone and like.. pressing the soles of our shoes together, helping to straighten a shirt tag or brushing away an eyelash, tapping a freckle like a button

Words ; I may be soft spoken & prefer a lot of nonverbal affection but I am not shy about speaking my feelings when I have them. I probably say "i love you" aloud more than any other words, period, and I will thank/praise for mundane everyday things, constantly

Doodles/notes ; I'll draw on lunch baggies, on sticky notes, and add little quotes or jokes or encouragement

As for holidays/celebrations I only really have a "Top 3" I consider myself Pagan, but I'm really not active in celebrating things, so here is what I normally do!

Summer solstice ; outdoor event, some kind of huge hike or just crashing next to a river/ocean, camping with bonfire

Halloween/Samhain ; I love the pageantry of dressing up & helping others dress up/with makeup - I am Not big on parties though. I would rather dress up and go wandering, or dress up, stay home, light some candles and take a few moments to miss people that are gone

Spring equinox ; is actually my anniversary! Honestly, looking through these, any excuse to go walking in nature is really a holiday in my eyes lol

Hello WIP Fairy, and happy Faebruary!

While the majority of my current work is on commissions, and I won't be sharing bits of those until they reach their commissioners, I always have Fae WIPS!

Ocean kelpies scream as they pull themselves free of the waves, seaweed manes and tails dripping with saltwater. They stamp, and toss their heads, droplets scattering and solidifying into jagged pieces of sea glass before they reach the sand. Some are lashed tightly to sleds of driftwood, having been dragged unwillingly into the unruly assembly of Undertow and Summer Court Fae. For all the noise, everything appears cordial. Greetings are being exchanged, hands clasped and cheeks kissed. Seashells clatter as one couple embraces, and the succulents on one fellow burst into bright blooms when he catches sight of a shark toothed smile - and then, a bound kelpie trods upon someone’s foot. Sweet words and smiles are quickly drowned out by the shouting, the raucous energy twisting into malevolence with all the force of a thunderclap.

Hior is a sweet fellow! He was part of a match-up process I'm still ironing out, but I'm pleased with how his story came about 💖

Fun fact: there's a post somewhere about a skeleton with lapis lazuli in their teeth (a poem? A poem + article? I have it saved somewhere I swear), perhaps put there because they sucked a brush used for writing, or because they simply wanted to eat the tantalizing blue. It always gives me such an intense nostalgic feeling for historical tales, and I can't help but attribute that same nostalia to Hior now.

His kind are rare. Forever wearing a face that no one will remember, Doran’s aspirations often feel insurmountable. He wants that spark of recognition, he wants to do away with his anonymity. He wants to be known. And if no one in Faerie will put forth the effort, if he’s forever cursed to have eyes slide over his ever-changing face, then he’ll build his own Court. He’ll fashion a home for himself where he will know every soul within, where his name will be said with reverence, with respect, or anger... or perhaps even fondness.  Anything but that questioning lilt that means he’s been forgotten.

But first, he needs to find someone who will fashion him a mask.

Absolutely no pressure if you are busy, but I for one would love to see a second part to the Heren story if you ever wanted to do more of it! Your writing is fantastic, especially in regards to worldbuilding and character, as well as just well written prose. I’m always on the lookout for gnc content and dragon content as well, and if you wanted incentive to write a lemony part two here it is! Again absolutely no pressure, I know how writing is, regardless I hope you have a great day!

I'm always happy to hear one of my characters is appreciated (and aaAHH, thank you so much for the kind words! This very much brightened my evening) This isn't the first time I've had a nudge for more Heren, and he IS on my "Re-visit List" (no need to worry about pressure tho! I always enjoy msgs that share love & interest in more 🥰 ) but I don't have any current WIPs for him just yet.

I do, however, have a classical dragon story in the works via one of my commissioners! I don't have a time estimate for it, other than: sooner rather than later.

I'm going to have to get some more solid dragon stories together though, aren't I? 😂 For having so few, I've gotten some truly heart-warming messages for them 💖

jasmine; what mythical creature do you wish actually existed? So.. I could have a million and one answers for this, but as a very sentimental adult human being, I really do have to say ghosts. I mean, I do believe in them, but.. I wish they existed in the way popular media often portrays them. Whole, or with healthy cognitive functions, simply without a body. I am, apparently, feeling maudlin right now and just missing the people I've lost?? Ugh, why must the Feelings Do This.

primrose; what book does everyone right now need to read? I will never, ever get tired of insisting that people go read "Every Heart a Doorway" by Seanan McGuire, and the subsequent books (The Wayward Children series). They're quick reads - generally no more than 200 pages or so - and are portal fiction in a vein I've been craving since... Since I can remember first wanting to find myself elsewhere. I could read a hundred of these worlds and never get tired of them, even when they hit too close to home.
