Draft2Digital is removing the "pay what you want" option from Smashwords. So I fear soon the only option to offer pay what you want for "Zeus and Hera" is my payhip shop:

Most people pay $0 and that's OK, the story is available online for free, but for those who WANT to tip me, I like the "pay what you want" option and I'm sad that Draft2Digital decided to remove it.

Right now, Zeus & Hera's first time is still pay what you want on Smashwords:

Welp. I quit my job! My last day was Friday, and I am super hype to focus on my small business while I continue looking for my next job! I want to really focus on reaching out to local stores and businesses to see if they would put my book on their shelves and getting an Etsy store set up! I also lowered the price of Cataclysm on Amazon (couldn’t lower the price on D2D because I’m already making $0.88 a book, sooo…), and I’m going to be publishing Collision Course at that lower price (and it will not be available through D2D).

In other words, there’s a lot going on on the Small Business Front!

What tools do you prefer? Atticus, PWA, Scrivener, Draft2Digital, a combo...?

I would say Atticus has surpassed Vellum in terms of bang for your buck, and now that D2D has Smashwords, it allows for a wider range of topics that KDP bans.

Holy. Crap.

I did so much on the Cataclysm front. I ordered proofs of the hardback and paperback from Amazon, uploaded most of the book information to Draft2Digital, ordered two different kinds of stickers to promote the book, designed some business cards, revamped my website—I literally did so much!

Posted Chapter 8 of Through the Gate on 07/31/2024, and I’m hoping to bring it to a close soon, so probably just two or three more chapters. Of course, with my brain, you never know.

I’m working on Sparkling Eyes and Cigarette Burns (at this exact moment actually) and I’ll be posting the next chapter on 08/14/2024. I know it’s a long wait, but with my book coming out on 09/15/2024, I just have a lot on my plate right now.

I am still looking for ARC readers for Cataclysm, so if you’re interested in watching a nineteen-year-old boy slowly lose his mind to the zombie virus, definitely check it out!

And! Dare I say it, they're a really good company. They seem to love helping you publish, if you have a problem, someone will actually help you. I like the interface too, it's straightforward, no hidden things jumpscaring me.

Try it! Just make sure to release your books from Kindle Unlimited (Select) first, if you got them in there.
