OC WEEK DAY 6

Childhood

I uhh...don't have much. To be honest, judging by the worst day of his life, on day two of this challenge, you can probably guess it wasn't great.

So I also decided to throw in stuff about his culture and stuff! Why not?

Childhood

Taurn's childhood was primarily spent being trained and educated in the ways of war and tactics by his father's word. While his mother and sister were often very kind and affectionate towards him no matter what, he failed to gain the warmth of his father unless he excelled. And when he failed, he met his wrath.

Taurn dedicated his life to becoming strong enough to do what he believed an emperor ought to do: protect and serve the people and defend them from anyone who dared to threaten them. The only problem is that he also felt he needed to do all of this himself.

Culture and Homeland

Taurn's country of Bovent is one in the rugged, warm mountains. It's entire culture is built around being strong, skilled, or knowledgeable enough to support the empire and fight in their honor. In a perfect world, anyone would be given the tools they needed to be able to achieve these goals, but...that's not the case. The strong hold most of the power, and they use that power to push down the weak. Fun times.

In addition to trying to conquer its neighbors in the past, it's also been seen using slaves or underpaid workers in order to mine a powerful metal they've dubbed "blacksteel" which makes up a majority of their weapons. This process is incredibly dangerous and cruel, and yet the nobles done often care. After all, it allows them to be stronger.

Taurn was surprisingly ignorant of how unfair the country was. He firmly believed the propaganda that everyone in life has the chance to show their might and be able to make their own path just like the people have been telling him.

Enid Cyus Berengar

🛡⚡️Lodestar of Peace⚡️🛡

An oc I adapted from my personal story, Dalgari: Thrones of Legend into Three Houses.

Backstory

Enid is the heir to House Berengar, a noble family that lies in the eastern part of the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus. Her father and grandparents were slain during the Tradgedy of Duscur, yet despite this, her mother, Lady Viria, tried to get the people and her fellow nobles to calm down, which was a wasted effort.

Enid herself handled the sudden deaths poorly. At first, she was scared and hid herself away, afraid to face the world and live up to the responsibility she had as a noble (an heir with a crest no less) to survive.

This was until she heard of bandits in the viscounty's lands. Bandits who somehow managed to kidnap her little siblings, Helia and Ruvo, along with common people of House Berengar. Enid felt like she couldn't stand for that and decided to go out and fight for the freedom of her family and the safety of her people.

She nearly died trying to fight the bandits off with a handful of soldiers... but she managed to pull through and save them. Seeing the smiles on everyone's faces as they were saved filled her heart with glee.

Since then, she has been working hard to make her mother's dream of a peaceful land a reality. While Viria works on a plan to create a group of peacekeepers, heroes, and diplomats known as the Gilded Guardians, Enid enrolled into the Officer's Academy, hoping to bring that she could gain the skills and power to help lead that group, as well as protect the people.

Personality

She is kind, down to earth and very friendly and respectful to all people, no matter what. In fact, she hates those who aren't. As a person with power, it is Enid’s responsibility to use their power for good and to respect everyone. They do not get a choice. A surprisingly mature thought from them.

Enid tends to be brash and a bit reckless. They charge into danger in order to prevent tragedy or protect their friends or other people, and oftentimes, they oppose bigots or those who are discriminatory or prejudiced.

Enid still feels the pressure of her legacy and position weighing down on her. That fear that she won't be able to use her power responsibly or that she will someday let down others is terrifying.

Combat

General Build Plan: Adefensive wall who has great stats all around with an emphasis on health, strength, defense, and skill, supporting her allies with rallies or other supportive abilities.

Personal Skill: Shield of the Weak

When enemy initiates combat, unit gains +15 avoid and +3 defense.

Hi! I'm Blazer, and I use He/Him pronouns. I'm a 18 y/o aspiring writer and game developer who wants to share my stories with others. And also scream about my ocs, or other story bits. I love fantasy and spend a lot of my time writing about it.

Main Projects

💙Tathylia Chronicles, an FE9/FE10 inspired SRPG made with SRPG Studio following a mercenary's son and a magical princess as they fight off an evil empire in two separate campaigns. The one I work on most often.

💚Shields of Dawn, a FE4 inspired game idea about the descendants of legendary holy warriors using their power and privileges as royals to bring peace to a chaotic world. I'm not currently in development, but I talk about it a lot anyway, soo...uhh...woops.

OC WEEK DAY 7

Free Day/ Fun Facts!!

We are finally done! Yay!

This was a fun challenge. Thought I admit, it did distract me from writing about my other projects...so woops-

Anyway, to close this off, I wanted to give you guys some random fun facts about Taurn. Because I think it would be neat.

Past Developments

His original story was about him going to an East Asian inspired country, meeting the locals, and stopping his dad from colonizing it. His arc was centered around controlling his anger to not hurt his loved ones. Also, his dad... wasn't even an emperor OR abusive. He was just... a dick ig.

Actually, in some iterations, his father was cowardly? For some reason??

"Taurn" used to be the name of the country he was from. His original name? Taur. Yep...just the same name without the N.

He used to have a peace loving younger sister who dies in the story to help him learn to control his rage.

Other Details

Since it's pride month, ig I should say that Taurn is bi! I dont actually currently ship him with any male main characters, other than Leon, but uhh... yeah!

Taurn is based on Hector (Fire Emblem 7), Diamant and Alfred(Fire Emblem 17), Isabeau (In Stars and Time),Akihiko, and Kazushi (Persona 3), as well as a few other characters, maybe.

He's a bit too easy to fluster when it comes to receiving affection. He gets really red in the face. It's because he's not really used to it.

He’s really warm. Both his hands and body are warm to the touch.

His pockets are usually filled with snacks for his friends.

Paladin/House Emblem is the head of the bull with the sun in the middle of their horns.

In the Persona AU version of him, he would be named Taiyou. His persona would be Samson,Heracles, and/or Atlas.

In DND/Pathfinder, he would be a Paladin/Champion.

OC WEEK DAY 5

Weapons and Powers

So... I really like designing combat systems. Specifically, systems for RPGS and SRPGS. Building systems and mechanics, even if I don't plan on fully using them, is one of my favorite parts of designing these types of games.

Dalgari: Thrones of Legend is an SRPG. It's combat system is based heavily on Genealogy of the Holy War and Three Houses. It's fun to design builds and combat.

I went on this tangent to explain why most of the things you'll see/read here are just me explaining his "gameplay", so to speak...

Probably not necessary but WOO COMBAT WOO-

Statistics

Taurn is a strong physical unit focusing on dealing high amounts of burst damage to the enemies around him, and increasing the damage output of his allies

His skills revolve around doing high damage, getting critical hits, sustaining himself on the front lines, and buffing the strength and critical hit rate of his allies. He is an excellent frontline unit who can serve as a sort of off-tank if necessary.

His major weaknesses are his low magical resistance, his mediocre speed, and the weakness to arrows and wind magic he gains when he promotes, as he becomes a flying unit.

Descendant Powers

As a descendant of the great Warmaster, Hjördis, Taurn's physical strength and skill with swords is boosted. At any time they feel is right, a descendant will be able to boost the power of their strikes by invoking the power of their ancestors.

The power and amount of times one can use this power is determined by a brand; a sort of birthmark that appears on the body of those who have the blood of a champion in their veins.

The brand also allows them to wield a special weapon.

Weapons and Fighting Style

Taurn primarily uses swords and axes in battle, and his fighting style ranges from refined and powerful to brutal and aggressive. He could best be described as...a rushdown character in a fighting game... but in an SRPG.

His signature weapon is Moralltach,Sacred Brand of The Warmaster. It's a powerful, blessed longsword that was used to fend off demons and evil, cleaving through them with a divine flame.

When the wielder is wounded or low on health, their attacks pierce through the defenses of a foe. It is a symbol of status for the royal family of Bovent.

OC WEEK DAY 4

Hobbies!!!

OK OK. So, considering the fact that Taurn is from an empire that favors war, strength, and conquest, and his whole character revolves around strength and improvement, you'd think he'd be into exercise and training.

You'd be right. He likes training, exercise, and sparring with others, possibly to an unhealthy degree.

Moving on.

Taurn's other big hobby is cooking. He's like to cook ever since he was around 10-11. His father, Atlas, disapproved because he's kind of high-key sexist and believes that things like cooking and cleaning are for women, blah blah blah. Taurn doesn't care. This is the one thing that he will not budge on. He likes to cook and doesn't care if his father is mad at him for it.

Good food does more than taste good. It can connect people, bring them joy, and help heal the souls of the wounded and scarred. It's one of the many ways that he can forge bonds and make friends with everyone he meets and unwind when things get stressful.

Also some foods are very healthy and good for improving your strength. That's neat.

Once he promotes/ gets a wyvern, Basalt, he also gains an interest in animals. He cares for his wyvern a lot, and does his best to make sure he stays healthy by learning everything he possibly can about taking care of mounts.

So...yeah! Next time is his combat! Which I am looking forward to!

OC Week Day 3

Relationships

Hey! Time for relationships! Yay

Taurn has a lot of relationships with many people, as do many characters in DToL. Let's talk about his most important ones!

The People

The Gilded Guardians are a group of people from all over the world dedicated to bringing peace and prosperity to all the continents of the realm, bringing together to people from all countries, classes,backgrounds and races.

Taurn is a prince from a foreign country known for its strength and its feats of conquest. Many people see him and all people from his country of Bovent as powerful, honorable warriors. Though many others see them as power-hungry fiends who take the lives of many people around them.

Taurn sort of fits both of these descriptions. He is a powerful man who uses his strength to protect the weak. But his obsession with getting stronger is often seen as a fault, rightfully so. And he holds his father in high regard. Despite the everything about him.

Taurn's passion for protecting and helping his friends is a prominent part of his character, and he often is willing to push past his limits and sacrifice his health to do so. He is a reliable ally to his friends. Just like he wants to be.

His Family

Taurn has three family members. His Father Emperor Atlas, his mother, Empress Theresa, and his younger Princess Scarlett.

He deeply admires his mother and sister. His sister may not be as strong or battle-hungry as him, but she is just as dedicated to defending her country as much as he is, and is more skilled when it comes to tactics and politics.

His mother has always been there to care for the two of them and has held many people's lives together with her kindness and intelligence. Taurn does wish that she would dote and care for him less. Like any of his relationships, he tries his hardest to be the leader and the one who cares for others.

The one he had a more complicated relationship with is his father. He deeply admires and respects him but also fears him. In the beginning, he is liable to go against his own morals if his father demands it, holding him up as a gold standard for moral judgment because of his might (and the trauma that Taurn experienced)

But as the game goes on, and he's surrounded by those who help him dismantle these views, he learns to defy his father's expectations and be his own man.

OC WEEK DAYS 1 AND 2

Best and Worst Days

So uhh...I'm gonna use Taurn Cymbeline Lyndwerth for this!

For those of you who don't know who this guy is, here's a link to his bio.

But if you don't wanna read that, here's a summary:

Taurn is a major character from a story I'm working on known as Dalgari: Thrones of Legend, a story about descendants of divine warriors who are also heirs to countries taking charge and leading the world to prosperity.

He's a headstrong, proud, caring young man who has trained endlessly in the ways of war and wishes to be a strong pillar of strength for his allies and his people, and because of his status as a descendant and prince of an empire, he is a powerful asset.

With that being said, let's get into it.

Best Day

Taurn has a lot of these. But it he had to pick, it's probably be the day he met his best friend and confidant, Prince Leon Alrone. During his time at an officers academy, he trained and studied the ways of war. The academy would often hold mock battles to test the might of the students. And in every mock battle, Taurn and Leon were put against each other.

They fought like crazy and formed a bit of a rivalry. In all honesty, they probably hated each other at first.

But then they were put on the same team for once. After putting aside their differences, they fought together. And they kicked serious ass.

After that, they became the best of friends (and briefly lovers before deciding to break up), and they were always at each other's side, training together. He was the first person who he felt like he could trust to have his back if, for whatever reason, he couldn't measure up.

Worst Day

One day, when he was 16, Taurn was entered into a tournament. His father, Emperor Atlas, saw this as his chance to prove how strong his heir was, and Taurn saw this as his chance to be praised by his family and his people.

In the beginning, he was doing well despite being young compared to the competitors. But as the battles grew harder, and the pressure built, his heart seemed to be as pained as his body and soul were starting to be.

Near the end, he suddenly stopped, feeling a searing pain in his heart, and his breathing got heavy. He collapsed and was unable to continue the tournament.

He failed.

Emporer Atlas, was furious. Atlas had spent years training him and his sister for greatness, and had taken a special interest in Taurn do to hia major connection to his ancestors. And ij his first outing, his first chance to show off the might of the royal family he lost in such a pathetic manner. He could not have that.

Taurn remembered little of what Atlas actually said. But he remembered him shouting at him when they got home. He remembered his father shaking him. He remembered tears, he remembered being struck to the ground. He remembers feeling like a disgrace and promising to the world that he would never let that happen again.

It turned out that Taurn had developed a heart condition. When he was under too much physical stress, his heart and body would start to ache, and he would have a reaction similar to what happened at the tournament. It took him time, but he eventually was able to continue his training, with the added caveat that he now couldn't train as hard or for as long as he did before. Doctor's orders.

The whole thing made him hate feeling vulnerable. He hated being treated like a burden by his father, or being doted on by his mother and sister. He hated how they worried for him. That was his job.

He swore never to let an incident like that happen ever again. Never again would he ever be weak. He'd be strong. He had to be. Or else.

So... yeah, that's how he got his complex of needing to be the pillar or rock in most relationships. Also, that's why he's so reckless and headstrong.

Exalt

The Grand Duchess of Cerotia. She is an empathetic, caring, and protective woman who has experienced trauma due to the deaths of her parents and husband at the hands of war and disease. She seeks to help those who have suffered be at peace, as well as to help people in need to prosper. She formed the Gilded Guardians and plans to use her power as a world leader in order to achieve this dream.

The memories of the loss her people and family faced still play over and over again in her mind. And she desperately desires to avoid a world where this is the norm, fearing upsetting anyone or failing diplomacy.

Emperor

The Emperor of Bovent, who comes from a long line of strong-willed warriors, each taking more and more land for their people. He came into power quickly after the loss of his father and three siblings, and his power seems to grow more and more every day.

Ambitious and war-hungry, he has doused the flames of rebellion and hope and ruled his empire with an iron fist, encouraging those around him to do the same...or face consequences.

A Cerotian noblewoman, who is the daughter of a baron. She was a wild child, with no desire to be chained down or limited for any reason, but her family disapproved of her actions and behavior.

She became a knight, expecting the same rigid structure. But surprisingly, she was able to be more free and wild. She rose through the ranks and became

Once the son of a merchant and a in the streets of Liron, he and his siblings fled to the country of Cerotia when times grew tough and chaotic due to the death of their parents. He did everything he could to have a stable life for his family. To do that, he became a knight.

With his new position, he has gained privileges he thought unattainable for a mere peasent like him, and his family eats well. He will do everything to keep order and stability in the world, as chaos brought him nothing but misfortune.

Mage->Wizard/Chevalier

The charming princess of Nowtuol. She is known far and wide throughout her lands as a beautiful, charming woman. So much so that many often let their guards down around her and underestimate her intelligence.

She uses these moments of weakness to gain crucial information and improve her skills in magic,with the unwavering support of her younger brother,Prince Noah, who's tactical mind allowed her to escape a calamity in her country and seek the help of the Guilded Guardians.

Fencer->Duelist

The next in line to the throne of Ampherous, whose compassion, charm, and ingenuity have made him popular among the people. After his father's faulty rule, he has made it his mission to do better.

Currently arranged to marry the princess of Taliver, Leilana, in order to potentially put an end to the bad blood between them. This and his desire to enact social change that supports the commonfolk has given him a lot of enemies to worry about.

Arlind🌲

Knight->Sentinel

The grandson of a Cerotian baron, who recently met his end after trying to slay the Grand Duchess in an insurrection. He joined the Gilded Guardians in an attempt to make up for his mistake.

Oftentimes, he feels less useful than his peers due to his anxious nature. Now surrounded by such strong, mobile heroes make him even more nervous. But he still wants to be a shield to the weak no matter what.

Omari💧

Brawler->Pugilist/Kensei

Once a bandit who fought for survival in Taliver, he tried to raid raid a town for food and gold during a festival. All of their other bandit allies were routed, but before Omari met a gruesome end, Princess Leilana saved him and helped him become the kind of man he always wanted.

Now the faithful companion of Princess Leilana of Taliver, he fights to protect his home and spreads peace, just as Leilana wishes.

Asvini🍃

Cleric->Saint/Templar

A former member of the Phenlorian Inquisitors, who enforced the law and order of the holy lands. He saw it as an amazing way to make money, but due to the cruelty the church's enemies faced, he became disillusioned and decided to quit.

Still, he wanted money, and he became a traveling priest, selling his services as a priest and divine healer to anyone lucky enough to hire him. Eventually, he joined the Gilded Guardians, who hired him for a hefty sum of gold.

Kiado🪨

Militia->Any

A villager who lived in peace in the country of Pakwil before he was kidnapped by some dark cultists, along with other innocents. Not content to be sacrificed or killed, he escaped along with some other captives.With the help of the Gilded Guardians, he was able to save the others. He later joined them.

Humble, earnest, and resourceful, he does whatever he can to gain the approval of others. He cares about the common people and their struggles more than anything, and wants to use his new position to help them whenever possible.

If I had a nickel for every relationship I've written that involves:

A man who wants to help his wife grow more confident and self sufficient, but often feels guilty about putting her in situations where she isn't/has less control that she'd ought to.

And a wife who would do anything to feel stronger and more confident, but often puts her needs aside for others' sake, often seeming more content with her situation than she really is.

And had a constant worry that I would mess up their relationship and make it seem misogynistic(a man has to tell a woman to fight for her rights)

I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot bit it's mildly concerning that it's happened twice....woops.

Y'know, it just hit me

Most of my SRPG stories here all have something in common, and that's how they deal with religion and theocracies.

All of the theocratic countries take place in harsh environments, usually in the snowy areas. This is the show how faith can push mankind to stay strong even in harsh conditions.

All of the theocratic countries are antagonistic in some way. And they always are antagonistic against those who are seen as unholy or a heretic by their standards.

They are often guided by an inherent misunderstanding of the teachings of a diety. Most gods that preach kindness and love wouldn't want you to kill people.

They are never actually the main villain of the story, but they are prone to doing just as much damage, if not more.

Any major player characters you get from that country are usually weak willed. They generally want to do the right thing, but when it comes to facing the horrid truths about their society, they struggle immensely and are generally just not mentally strong enough to push back without help.

It's like...idk. It's neat that I'm still able to diversify them enough to stand out in their own way, but at the same time, it is a bit concerning.

Ah, well. Maybe if good religions weren't always messed up by horrible people, less cruel theocracries would be thought of in my stories.

☀️Angeline, Merciful Maiden☀️

"Please...allow me to use what meager strength I can muster to make sure you survive. I won't have innocent blood spilled because of my weakness."

Angeline is the daughter of Apostle Mariqueen of Phenlory, a snowy theocracy in the snowy tundras of the north. For most of her life, she was sheltered and kept safely within either a palace or a temple.

As the major descendant of the Valkyrie, many in Phenlory saw her as a goddess incarnate, treating her with the utmost respect and kindness. She was constantly praised for everything she did by the public.

Her brother, Isaiah, always seemed to outshine her. Despite having minor holy blood, he seemed to be a stronger warrior and a paragon of justice. While he was protecting the countryside, she was often spending her time...in a palace or temple...alone.

One day, she heard of a bandit raid happening nearby and decided to sneak out and heal those who were injured. There she was able to assist many people, including her brother and the prince of Liron, Leon.

From this point onwards, Mariqueen trusted her to be allowed out of the palace from time to time, albeit with lots of guards protecting her. She helped many people, and even began to form a little relationship with Prince Leon. Still, she was overshadowed by the presence of her brother.

One day, she heard a mysterious voice. One she thought was from the heavens themselves. The voice told her to come to Nowtuol and save someone from a deadly fate. She went there with haste.

Only she was not met with someone to save. She was met with a trap! Dark cultists appeared and tried to kill her. But with the help of the Gilded Guardians, she was able to survive.

She decided to join soon after and was overjoyed to see that Leon was there.

Angeline is timid, passive, and extremely nervous around those she doesn't know. She's like that to those she does know, actually. Her kindness, persistence, and passion will always shine through, though.

She admires those who are strong and wishes she could be like them, but believes she never will due to her physical and emotional frailty. She is often prone to calling herself weak and seems to rely on others too often. Quick to assist others but almost never herself.

She is an extremely faithful and devout priestess who uses her faith to guide her actions but takes time to think about how her actions and beliefs have affected others. She always tries to make others feel comfortable. Which is even more difficult than it needs to be, considering she does not know how to make lasting friendships.

🔮Noah, Agent of Eventide 🔮

"What good is knowledge if nobody knows about it, but you?What good is wisdom if it isn't shared with everyone? Having all that power and information and not telling people about it seems like a waste to me."

Noah is the son of the leader of Aristocracy of Knowledge, Nowtuol, a land with lush plains and beautiful beaches. It's lands are leader by many nobles, all of which banded together to rule the country with pride.

For as long as he could remember, Noah was seen as odd or not worth listening to. He had a strong interest in magic and history, which was all well and good. But it was all he seemed to care about. Politics and socializing with others didn't seem to grab his interest.

The nobility of Nowtuol tends to argue quite a lot, and few decisions get made. Seeing this, Noah tried to get them to stop bickering. But nobody listened. They saw Noah as a nuisance more than anything

Distraught, he dove deeper into his studies, broadening them to include battle tactics and even doing expeditions for mysterious artifacts and knowledge in hopes of gaining some respect, which failed.

One day, on one of his many expeditions, he discovered the makings of a dangerous force known as Teragyth’s Eye. When he warned his family of this danger, they...ignored him.

Irritated by this, but also worried about what this meant for Nowtuol, he went into action. He asked his sister, Lady Olympe, to take the legendary tome, Hecate, and leave quickly to gather assistance, and prepared the castle for a siege.

And a siege did come. But luckily, The Gilded Guardians arrived to drive off the threat of Teragyth’s Eye. Noah then joined them as they drove off the dark cult from their lands, and stayed because...they were first people to listen to him in a while.

Noah is a young man eager to share his wealth of knowledge with the world and is a seeker of victory and truth, even if the knowledge he seeks is seen as rude or even heretical. He is kind and cares for others, but he has trouble showing it, as he does with most social situations and emotions.

🌲Sophia, Blooming Princess 🌲

"My mother,Queen Fiáin ...she's a legend among the people. They say she's the second coming of Lady Diantha herself. I have to find her. If I don't...what will the people of Delka do?"

Sophia is the princess of the queendom of Delka. It is a land filled with lush jungles and awe-inspiring flora and fauna. It is also seen as a sanctuary for peace for everyone, especially the Ainmhi.

Sophia’s mother, Queen Fiáin, worked tirelessly to make sure the people of Delka knew nothing but peace. And the princess, Delka desires to do all she can to support and defend country, and bringing that joyous spirit.

She learned from her and followed her example, along with her younger brother, Prince Dew.

Then....one day she just vanished. During a festival, Sophia and Dew lost track of her. They searched for a while, and eventually found her, though not in a favorable position.

She had lost a fight with a dark sorcerer of some kind, who kidnapped her. This brought the duo great pain.

Dew took it especially hard. Since he is not thr heir to the throne, he has been constantly dismissed by everyone, except Sophia. He swore to at least protect Queen Fiáin. But he failed. So now he wishes to defend Sophia.

The duo assembled a small group of wardens and heroes, who defended the country from tyranny and hate, and searched for the missing queen.

Though, eventually, Sophia was invited to join the Gilded Guardians, and she decided to do just that, hoping to grow stronger for her people.

Sophia is a little anxious around new people, but once she has time to warm up to them, they will quickly see her change from meek to extremely upbeat, cheerful, and compassionate to those she cares for. Though she shows mercy now for those who bring about suffering and bigotry, and can be seen as a bit cruel.

Sophia's greatest worry is that she won't be able to find Queen Fiáin. She does not believe that she is capable of being the queen of Delka. This has stopped her from truly learning all she needs to, up until recently, and she worries constantly about being a good ruler.

If I had a nickel for everytime one of my stories included black woman who was slow to trust the others because of trauma, I'd have 3 nickels, which isn't a lot, but it'd weird that it happened thrice, right?
