You Always Find Your Way Back Home - Epilogue

As the light filters into the room, illuminating the room with a soft glow, Thranduil often has a moment of panic right before he opens his eyes. A brief sense of amnesia hits him, causing him to jerk, reaching to grasp onto the empty spot where you would lay. 

The minute his hand lands onto your form, the panic recedes like an old memory being shoved away under the bed. Opening his eyes, Thranduil notices your form is turned away from him. Smiling softly, he loops his arms around your waist, tugging your form to his chest so he can properly hold you. 

Shifting, your eyelashes began to flutter, your form stretching slightly before shifting to press yourself further into Thranduil’s embrace. 

Opening your eyes, you winced at the bright light, turning to bury your face in Thranduil’s bare chest. 

“Good mornin’” Your voice was muffled and cloaked in tiredness, causing Thranduil’s smile to widen. 

“Good morning,” He cooed in response, holding you a little tighter as he pressed a kiss to your forehead.

As the sun continued to rise above the horizon, the two of you basked in the warm light. Tilting your head up, you smiled when you two locked eyes. Leaning forward, you pressed a kiss to his lips. 

Shifting a hand from the small of your back to the nape of your neck, the two of you continued the kiss like a passionate dance. Ever since you permanently returned to Middle Earth, Thranduil always did things with a sense of urgency, yet dragged them out like it was the last time he was ever going to get to be with you. Holding you, kissing you, making love to you. 

And each time, you returned his affection with a sense of calm, letting him know you aren’t going anywhere. 

Ending the kiss, Thranduil shifted his hand once more to cup your cheek, brushing his thumb over your cheekbone. 

Grabbing his hand, you pressed a kiss to his knuckles before rubbing over them with your thumb.

“I’m here,” You whispered. “I’m home.”
