you know in hindsight I failed to consider that "more characters have onscreen parents" also means "there are more parents to be brutally killed off onscreen"
the divorce plotline of osni is getting way more genuine focus than i expected it to. i'm so fascinated by all the parental relationships we're getting to see in this season with (some amount of) everyone's parents actually being present and onscreen so much

Gah it’s only really starting to hit me that tetro danganronpa pink will be over in 2 weeks… which means there’ll absolutely be a body discovery this Friday which I’m genuinely so nervous for. And I’ll guess I’ll have to see how it goes participating on the semi finale of tetro when I’m on a mini holiday which would be interesting, but certainly memorable.
It just feels so strange as it feels so quick yet so long since I first started watching tetro at the very beginning of chapter 1, I’ve been here for every tetro Friday and it’s gonna feel so weird not having more uploads on that day and massively speculating about what’s gonna happen and losing my mind over everything that does. Of course tetro is a really big series with lots of content to analyse but it’s just been so live it’ll feel weird having the stories of the students of pink come to an end. I’m lucky I’ve had both of my favourites of Ojima and Hiroaki live up til the very end when it felt impossible. And I’m begging on my knees these two will make it out alive and heal together, although I’m especially worried for Hiroaki this chapter. And even though I mentioned those two I still really love all the current survivors in chapter 5, it really feels like we have grown alongside them so having to lose 2 more is going to be absolutely devastating. I’m very nervous but very excited to see where this goes, with the finale being in chapter 5 which always has the iconic and amazing murder cases, and whatever this ending state may be. And if anything I hope whoever dies this chapter can go out with an unforgettable bang.

Danganronpa case 3 where there's two victims except partway through the investigation into the second victim, the first victim suddenly gets back up. They're alive! Monokuma made a mistake when he played the Body Discovery Announcement!
This is not a purposeful deception on the part of any of the students. Whatever actually happened to this character, Monokuma just... got it wrong.
The mechanics of how Monokuma decides that someone is dead and how that system could be accidentally misled is a key aspect that the trial ultimately hinges on.

Body Discovery 4
Before I accidentally spoiled myself of this happening I REALLY thought it would be only one because of diverting the Danganronpa norm. I DON'T KNOW WHO IT WILL BE AND I'M SCARED.
They took advantage of the Woodshop being banned so the body would be found later than expected... gdi
THEY KILLED TSUNO AS SHE ENTERED!? WTF WTF WTF WTF
They HAVE TO HAVE BEEN KILLED THE SAME WAY
I AM PERSONALLY MURDERING OKAZAKI REGARDLESS OF THE RESULTS AND THE POTENTIAL SECOND PERSON WHO SET UP THIS FUCKERY
If ANYONE blames Wada for this I'M COMING FOR THEM TOO
256 - Double Homicide
Everyone is freaking out I AM TOO
Wada is LOSING IT AND I AM SO SAD FOR BOTH HIM AND HASEGAWA
Both of those are more like background characters... am devastated they killed off the prominent fan favourite characters, MY FAVOURITE CHARACTERS
Wada's turn to tell everyone to shut up 😭
Them not being able to investigate because of fear of traps is fucked
Okazaki is quick to dismiss that it could be the same murderer, I know this is too obvious a blackened but I AM PRAYING WITH ALL MY SOUL ITS HER AND SHE GETS EXECUTED JUST AS BRUTALLY
257 - Midnight Metropolis Double Murder: Body
Poor Wada has Tsuno's blood on his face...
Big Stakes...
Mai's outburst about two people dying after Shigeki mentions that she's acting weird today...
258 - Midnight Metropolis Double Murder: Woodshop
Even though we all saw it coming I don't like how they're accusing Wada just because of the saw and the note
Wada angst LET'S GO
Hiroaki was never grateful for anything Tsuno did... I like this take from Wada's perspective even though we know it's incorrect
Hiroaki forgot what he did to Wada, DUDE- 💀
Wada has lost two people now/same with Hama, they're both like Himiko from V3 😭
259 - Midnight Metropolis Double Murder: Computer Lab
I know we have to see them have scenes but OKAZAKI GET TF OUT OF HERE
WADA going off at Okazaki YES PLEASE
Wada's voice actor POPPING OFF
I'm so relieved Wada is finally standing up for himself... I just wish he could've done it while Tsuno was alive, she'd be so proud of him
What does Wada have? Either way 'none of your business' being snapped at Okazaki after everything she's done is well deserved
Investigating in pairs after all this petty Tamba bullshit? Okazaki get tf out
DON'T BE AMUSED THAT WADA IS STANDING WHERE HIS BLOODSTAIN IS, YOU'RE FUCKED UP IN THE HEAD OKAZAKI
Have some manners!? Excuse me!? Okazaki... I don't get why people are fans of her, especially after this (I half understood in the previous chapters but this is just 💀)
Wada hit her and blood's back on his face!?
He stabbed her? Oh my god Okazaki is playing 4D chess with Wada and REALLY fucking him up I am NOT HAPPY ABOUT THIS
Wada is mentally DESTROYED
I'm glad Wada is going to be talking to Hayashi but my god I PRAY she takes his side
I know stabbing someone like that is very immoral but I don't care, my hatred for Okazaki is stronger 😭
My heart can't take much more of this torture 😩
260 - Midnight Metropolis Double Murder: Art Room
Lupitol! 😂
Hama reassuring Watari while she panics is my everything ♥️
261 - Reset Position
'I got a little bit stabbed' Funny as hell but why is Okazaki being so calm 😭
MAI IS PISSED AS HELL, YES MAI, GO FOR OKAZAKI'S THROAT
Okazaki getting picked up menacingly is worth it for now
Does Okazaki have Kamimura's tongue as a momento in her coat or something? Because THAT would be fucked up
The fandom pointing out that Tamba was very adamant about not going to the Woodshop is concerning... but we all know by now who I think the killer is regardless of the facts presented before us 😅
All I'm saying is if Okazaki only killed Tsuno to fuck with Wada because she knew she could get away with it I WILL BE VERY FILLED WITH HATRED
I can't wait to watch the trial, I need as many details, answers and justice as I can get about this case

BAD JOE'S DRDT CH.2 CRIME SOLVING THEORY PART 6
Wow! It's been a long while, but it's finally here! DRDT Chapter 2 is back with part 2 starting since more than a week ago!
...Oh? What's that? There's some reveals that is damaging my theory and I should get to fixing? Awwww, man.... what a drag.... I am so doomed... nanchatte!
Anyways, hi! It's me, the dude who makes-overly-complex-and-ridiculously-long-theories-in-the-hopes-of-trying-to-solve-the-murder-case-that-not-many-people-agree-with-for-more-reasons-than-my-theory's-word-count. (Okay, the last part about the reasons is probably not true... yet!)
I am back yet again with some more updates regarding my theory.
NOOOOO!!! NOT AGAIN!!! PLEASE, I DON'T WANNA READ ANOTHER GODDAMN DICTIONARY LENGTH OF A THEORY POST!!!!
Woah! Calm down, imaginary self that is under the impression that some people were way too overwhelmed by my latest part of the theory post! You have nothing to worry about!
It would be silly of me to rewrite all of it again with some small changes. I will of course link up my part 5 later as source of reference, but really, all I'm gonna be doing here today is point out the newest problems with my theory ever since episode 12 and 13 and give my personal thoughts on those.
Also, to make sure that people hasn't forgotten what I've been all about since the beginning, I will do a short recap of my theory, displaying only what's most relevant to the murder case.
Besides, ain't no way I'm writing something this long ever again (except for maybe trying to solve the future chapters, but that's a matter for the far future).
With that said, I feel obliged to point out that this is spoilers for the fangan Danganronpa Despair Time Chapter 2, up until episode 13.
With that out of the way, let's get to it!
Hey look! I still remember how to use that show more button again, hurray! (I'm really sorry again to @1moreff-creator and everyone else who's been reading my very first posts last year that didn't have a show more button)
So, first things first, I'd like to apologize in advance because as amazing the episode 12 and 13 were, I will not be doing a reaction post of said episodes. I think I'm just too lazy to actually display my whole stream of consciousness through two whole videos and I think it is safe to say that practically all of us had a very similar reaction to those episodes.
What was the common reaction, you may ask? Well, it's simple, really... it went something like... OMG, THIS IS SO FUCKING HYPE! OMG!!! THAT WAS SO INSANE!!! THE DRAMA!!! DAVID BEING DAVID!!! THE LEVI REVEAL!!! THE FLASHBACK PART 2 SCENE!!! OMG, WHAT IS EDEN DOING?!! AREI IS HOLDING DAVID'S HANDS?! WE'RE FINALLY TALKING ABOUT THE MURDER METHODS?!?! OMG, SO GOOD!!!
...right? Yeah! I thought so! :D
Although I may not be showing proper and precise reactions to these episodes, if you're interested, I'd definitly recommend reading @venus-is-thinking 's, reactions on episode 12 and episode 13, @1moreff-creator 's reactions on episode 12 and episode 13 and @accirax 's reactions on episode 12 and episode 13. They're pretty good reads (and no, I'm not just saying this because they all believe that Eden is the culprit, I swear!).
And for those who are totally blind or new to my shenanigans, yes, I do believe that Eden is the culprit behind this murder case.
There is indeed a few problems that arose ever since the latest episodes, so to make sure that everyone is up to speed with what I'm gonna be talking about, I'm now going to be doing a short recap of the events, according to me.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
THE RECAP
DAY 1 : The day where everyone receives their mixed up secrets and explore the second floor. DAY 2 : The day where the attempted murder on Ace happened. DAY 3 : The day where Whit suggests David to chill for the evening in the relaxation room. DAY 4 : The day (morning) of the body discovery announcement.
Ever since Arei bullied Eden who then cried and exited the playground on DAY 2, that was what triggered Eden to decide to commit murder for the sake of escaping this hellish killing game. Knowing that her secret is that she kissed a girl, I deduced that she's probably trying to escape because she misses her beloved dearly.
So while she was off screen during most of that day, she spent time making plans for the murder set up and narrative, which is why she decided to share Arturo's secret (as seen in the flashback).
During the evening of DAY 2, Ace was working out in the gym, then he hears a conversation happening between David and Arei in the relax room. The conversation that Ace was quietly listening to did not happen in the evening of DAY 3, but rather the evening of DAY 2. Ace lied about when he was listening to that conversation.
At some point during the conversation or perhaps even after the conversation, Eden sneaks up on Ace and knocks him out with the turpentine that anyone could've gotten access to that day. Ace is Eden's chosen murder victim.
Sometime later, Eden eitheir used a letter or called out Arei's name to lure her into the playground or somewhere close to knock her unconscious with that very same turpentine. She then moves Arei's body into the relaxation room to lock her up inside because of the specific nighttime rules regarding that room.
Eden also brought old spares of clothing to cover Arei's body to make sure she doesn't get stained with starch from the water misting formula from the relaxation room.
During the night of DAY 2, she prepares the murder mechanism in the gym with some needed tools from the storage room and some wire that she took out from possibly a grandfather clock that she may have in her dorm. I deduced it as such because of Whit's description of everyone's dorms being suited to their needs.
I also deduced that there is actually a switch to turn on and off the fans, which is important since the attempted murder involved the fans. As Eden finished setting it up, as she was about to clear up with evidence, she heard someone using the elevator.
She hid in the dress up room, then Nico enters the second floor, looking for Ace to kill him. As Nico explores the gym, Teruko shortly enters the elevator to get to the second floor as well.
Teruko, looking for her spares, runs into Eden, who was hidden in the dress up room. After some talk, they heard a loud noise coming from the gym, which they both take a look inside.
Upon seeing this mess of a crime, Eden realised that her murder plan failed and that she needs to come up with a plan B really quick. So while she is taking time to "process this emotionally", Teruko was investigating.
Eden finally comes up with a plan B and figured that she needed to get her hands on the roll of tape ASAP. She managed to do so with a sleight of hand when Ace "suddenly wakes up", knocking Eden out of the way, distracting Teruko in the process.
Later that night, Eden proceeds with her plan B by making a murder mechanism in the playground. She also took the rope from the storage room. Once it's all properly set up, all's left was waiting for the relaxation to unlock at 8:00 AM on DAY 3.
In the morning of DAY 3, she retrieves Arei's unconscious body and proceeds with murdering Arei. Then, she proceeds to conceal the body somewhat behind the curtains in the relaxation room. She also grabs her glove, her monopad and the necessary materials in the dress up room for the next step of her plan.
She spends the rest of the morning to prepare her disguise trick. Then during lunchtime, Eden spends a short amount of time disguised as Arei to hide the actual time of death.
Once lunchtime is over, she returns to eitheir her or Arei's dorm to remove the disguise, spend time cleaning up, relax, power nap, etc. Then, during the evening of DAY 3, she spends time with Hu to fabricate her perfect alibi.
Later that evening, David explores the relaxation room. That's when he notices something wrong with the room and becomes the first person to discover Arei's dead body.
For some personal reasons, David brings the body back into the playground and hangs it by the swingset. Eitheir he or Eden (earlier in the morning) balls up the clothes and hides it in the closet of the dress-up room. Then, in the morning of DAY 4, David grabs everyone's attention to the fact that Arei is missing right before the secrets reveal. Then fast forward a bit, then we get the BDA of Arei
--------------------------------------------------------------------
And there ya go, that's my recap regarding how I believe the murder case happened. Pretty short, eh?
HELL NO!!! THAT WAS STILL PRETTY LONG!!! AHHHHH!!!!
Eh... I guess I couldn't really make it that shorter, my bad! If I tried to make it any shorter than that, it would've been extremely confusing.
Ah! Speaking of which, if you're confused in the sense that it feels like none of this should work at all, and there's a lot of contradictions and whatnot, then I would heavily recommend reading my actual theory post. I am not going to spend time refuting with people in the comments about points I've already pointed out in my previous post.
However, if there are things that are unclear to you, things that you do not understand and want to know what I'm talking about, please, feel free to ask away! I will help in any way I can.
With that out the way, I guess I can now start with pointing out the pr-
HAH! THERE IS A MAJOR ISSUE WITH YOUR THEORY!!! BASED ON EPISODE 12, THE MURDER COULD'VE ONLY HAPPENED IN THE MORNING OF DAY 4 BECAUSE OF THE BODY SWING! YOU'RE DONE FOR!
Tumblr media
Ah... yeah... that! Of course! That's not a problem!
!!!
Let's talk about it first, shall we? :D
--------------------------------------------------------------------
AREI'S BODY SWING : CONFIRMED TIME OF DEATH???
I'd like to come clean with something, everyone. Ever since I came up with the theory that murder happened at a totally unexpected time, there was something that was constantly bothering me.
That's right, I was very well aware of the body swing happening during the BDA ever since the beginning.
HUH?! Then all this time, you wrote all of this despite knowing that?!
Correct! I'm really sorry about that, but please, understand that I had a very good reason for it. For you see... everytime I saw it, I was often under the impression that this was simply an eerie effect / animation, to give a more dramatic intensity towards the BDA, without meaning anything. I legit thought it could be a thing, I swear!
But despite all that... I couldn't help but feel uneasy about it. Deep down, I felt like that maybe there was an actual meaning to it, maybe it was an actual clue that I shouldn't disregard. But I figured that because of my theory beliefs, then it would be rather unlikely that it would be used as evidence.
But alas, I was wrong about that. The body swing plays a very important rule in determining what happened in this murder case. I cannot deny that fact, especially since Teruko brought it up, plain as day. Despite it seeming like it damages my theory, I'm thankful that the dev finally cleared that little doubt I had since then.
Then you admit it, the murder actually happened in the mor-
Oh, not so fast! Let's not jump to conclusions just yet, alright? Arei's body swinging by the swing set doesn't quite exactly prove that the murder occured during the morning of DAY 4. The body swing only proves that someone messed with the body by the swingset.
W-What?! That doesn't make sense! The murder clearly happened in the morning of DAY 4!
Nuh-uh, not quite. You believe it clearly happened in the morning because that's what the cast concluded on top of Charles pointing out that the culprit could've clearly fake the time of death by saving the fishes for later.
But unless we have decisive evidence that the murder happened in the morning, we can't be 100% sure that the murder happened in the morning of DAY 4.
From the looks of it, you just seem very desperate, if you ask me.
At first, when episode 12 released, I kind of was... up until I figured out a fairly logical solution to it. That's right! I have a way to explain who made the body swing and why.
You're not going to suggest that David did all of what he supposedly did in the evening of DAY 3, but instead in the morning of DAY 4, right?!
Nope! Not at all. Disregarding the facts that it wouldn't really make sense and that he'd have to move the body out of the relax room anyways before nighttime (because of the water misting rules), David actually has an alibi in the morning of DAY 4.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(As does Veronika too as she was with them in the cafeteria)
With all of these reasons mentioned above, as much as I initially wanted to make it somehow possible that David came back to the crime scene to mess with the body somehow, it just isn't possible.
So instead, someone else did it.
Then out with it already, you staller! Who is it?!
There is only one possible candidate that would make the most sense in that scenario : Eden. Eden is the person who messed with Arei's body in the morning of DAY 4.
WHHAAAAT?!?! WHY WOULD SHE DO THAT?! THAT'S SO RISKY!
That's what I initially thought at first, not gonna lie. But then... something hit me : Eden doesn't have an alibi for the morning of DAY 4 eitheir.
I thought that there would be absolutely no need for Eden to come back to the crime scene a certain short amount of time before the BDA, so instead, I needed to reverse my way of thinking.
What could she possibly aim to do that would prompt her to come back to the crime scene last minute?
Considering the facts (based on my theory, mind you) that she killed Arei in the morning of DAY 3, hid the body somewhere in the relaxation room, built up an evening to night alibi with Hu and that David was the first person to discover it during the evening, there is a simple explanation behind it.
Arei's BDA was meant to be triggered much earlier than the morning of DAY 4. The original intent behind this whole scheme was to have the BDA trigger during the evening of DAY 3.
That doesn't make sense!
No, that's wrong! It does make a whole lot of sense. Think about it. Let's say you were a participant in this killing game and were in David's shoes during the evening of DAY 3... you come across a dead body in the relaxation, what would you do?
!!!
That's right, you wouldn't just mess with the body and move it somewhere else, now would you? Aside from freaking out, the most natural and human thing to do would be to gather help.
If it were anyone else than David who discovered the body in that exact scenario, they would cry out for help, tell everyone that they found Arei dead inside the relaxation room, which would then result in a body discovery announcement.
But what if the person who found the body were to personally ask for Hu's and Eden's help, wouldn't that ruin her plan since it wouldn't trigger the BDA?
There's an easy solution to that. Eden could've simply decided to find more people to share the news to meet up with the corpse. This wouldn't ruin her plan in the slightest.
Quite the opposite, actually. If the body were to be discovered and trigger the BDA during the evening, it would solidify her air tight alibi even further as she wouldn't have any possible timeframe to commit murder in the evening as she was spending time with her friend Hu.
Ugh, so what? It didn't really happen anyways because of David being David! That doesn't change anything!
Actually, it does change things considerably. If you put yourself in the culprit's perspective where the whole intent was to have the body discovery happen in the evening of DAY 3 and that during the whole night, nothing happened, you would certainly find that very strange.
The culprit would be clearly confused, yet really curious to find out what even happened.
Couldn't she have taken a look much later during the night?
Perhaps, but she figured it would've been pointless. The reason why is that if she thought that nobody found the body, then the body would've still remained hidden in the relaxation room which would then be currently locked away because of the water misting.
So instead of checking it out during the late night of DAY 3, Eden decided to investigate during the very early morning of DAY 4, sometime past 7:30 AM.
But the relaxation room is still locked up until 8:00 AM! Why not wait until then?
It's simple! She just wanted to be there a little bit in advance to make sure she can enter the room as early as possible. And so... while she is waiting for the relaxation room to unlock, she probably figured that she should take a look around the other rooms, why not?
And thus, that leads to Eden finding the body being hung by the swingset, alongside fishes scattered around the floor for some reason.
To reconfirm, I still believe that David is the first person who discovered Arei's dead body in the relaxation room and that he's responsible for hanging her body alongside placing those fishes by the playground.
Okay, Eden discovers that the body has been moved to the playground? What now? Everything's already in place, so what could she possibly do with the dead body?
Well, since the BDA was not triggered on the evening of DAY 3, she figured that she may as well put Arei's monopad back into the corpse's pockets.
But what about her missing glove? Why didn't she return that as well if she wanted to return her monopad?
That's a good point, that's for sure. But there are two easy fixes to this counter argument. First one being that she simply forgot about the gloves. No one's really perfect, after all. She was so concerned about the body not being discovered yet that this completly slipped her mind.
The second fix would be that it would've been way too risky to try to retrieve the glove. Maybe initially, Eden, after she removed her disguise, she placed the clothes and the glove back into Arei's dorm. So if she wanted to retrieve the glove, she'd have to return to Arei's room, unlocking it with a monopad that isn't her own.
Would she really risk that again after making this much progress without getting caught so far? Like imagine if she tried to take that risk one last time only to get caught, that would be quite the devastating result, wouldn't it?
Ok, fine. Nevermind the gloves. Is that all she did?
Pretty much, yeah. She returned the monopad back into her pockets, which moved the body somewhat.
...
Well, it's also possible that she tripped and moved the body even more by accident. Or perhaps she felt like she was in such a hurry to avoid getting found out that she accidently bumped into Arei's dead body.
...Are you kidding me? There's no way that's gonna be enough to move the body for this long!
Well... maybe her being there at exactly 7:30 AM is not the exact time. She could've been there a couple minutes before 8:00 AM, which could make this possible.
But that's ridiculous! There's no way Eden is strong enough to make the body swing that way. To make the body swing for a good amount of time, she'd need more than just accidently bumping into the body! It needs considerable force.
And I'll stop you there. If you've read my last theory post, you should know by now that I'm a firm believer that because it's a work of fiction, anything that seems unlikely can become possible.
The main thing we should take from Arei's body swinging during the BDA is that at some point in time during the morning, someone messed with the body, proving that someone was there during the morning of DAY 4.
And there you go, that's my whole explanation as to how Arei's body was swinging during the BDA that doesn't necessarily mean that the murder occured during that exact morning.
If you're not quite convinced yet, there is a certain part of my theory that begins to make a lot more logical sense with this solution in mind. Take a look at this!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thanks to the solution I suggested, these two lines become a lot more fitting to my updated theory. Here's why!
If Eden were to explore and find the body hanging by the swing set during the morning of DAY 4, she would know that at least 1 person found the body, but not who exactly.
Because of Whit's silly comment, Eden immediatly thought of the body in the playground and jumped to the worst conclusion : Whit is the person who found the body first.
So if they were to open the door to the playground, the BDA would not trigger since Eden is the culprit. So in a moment of panic, Eden uttered : "Teruko, wait--".
It is still pretty much the same as what I had in mind according to the previous part of my theory post, except that it works a whole lot better now that Eden personally saw the actual state of the dead body in the morning of DAY 4.
So there you have it. This seemingly major problem for my theory actually turned out to be very beneficial for my theory after all! Ah, the joys of making logical sounding deductions! My theory should be saf-
HAH! YOU THINK YOUR THEORY IS SAFE FROM HARM YET?! WRONG!!!! IN EPISODE 13, THEY ACTUALLY SHOWED HOW THE MURDER MECHANISM WORKED! NOT ONLY IS EDEN TOO WEAK TO OPERATE IT, BUT THEY PUT FISH WATER INSIDE THOSE JUGS! SINCE THEY REVEALED THAT MURDER METHOD, IT HAS TO BE THE SOLUTION. YOUR THEORY IS RUINED! GOOD DAY SIR!
Tumblr media
Oh, you mean this?
Oh no, this murder mechanism is different from mine and this one requires a certain amount of strength that Eden possibly doesn't have! And the fishes! Since they brought it up, then there's no way my theory can work! Whatever shall I do??? It's joever.... just kidding!
I don't mean to alarm you guys, but the current proposed murder mechanism idea actually has flaws. Let's talk some more about the murder mechanism in the playground, shall we? :)
--------------------------------------------------------------------
TERUKO'S CURRENT MURDER MECHANISM IDEA : RIGHT OR WRONG???
Before I get into it, I'd like to remind everyone that just because we've been shown how the murder may have been done for the first time means that's how it actually happened. Let's not forget that they spent so much time arguing and discussing about the secrets that they barely ever talked about the murder case in itself.
So if anything, episode 13 is practically just them beginning their actual work! Mistakes are bound to happen. We shouldn't jump to conclusions just yet. Besides, there is actually a problem with this murder mechanism.
I'll present it to you in pictures to show you what I'm talking about.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The taped up wrists. This was practically the decisive proof that this wasn't a suicide nor could it have been an assisted suicide. So now that they've introduced a murder mechanism in an actual episode... what's actually the point of the taped wrists in that scenario?
If the culprit used exactly this kind of murder mechanism, then there would be absolutely no need to tape up her wrists together.
Maybe it was to stop Arei from trying to struggle?
Nope. If that was the case, we would've seen much more signs of struggle coming from Arei. There may be scuffs on the ground, but there's absolutely no other form of injury on Arei aside from her broken neck.
Well, I saw a theory where the accomplice was Levi and he could've easily overpower her!
(I believe that was something that @1moreff-creator theorized, if I recall? At least, that was the theory pre part 2)
It used to be borderline possible, but not this time anymore! Thanks to the first two episodes of part 2 of chapter 2, it seems extremely unlikely that Levi wanted to work with the culprit as an accomplice.
Not only because of what we find out regarding his secret, what kind of character he is, but also because of something he said in episode 12.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don't know about you, but this doesn't look like something an accomplice would say at all, right? If the culprit was someone who didn't have an alibi in the evening, it would be a different story, but the most fitting theory for having Levi work as an accomplice is to work for Eden, who happens to have an alibi in the evening as you already know.
So since we gotta take Levi out of the equation, then we don't really have much other possible candidates who could've easily overpower Arei to the point where taping up her wrists would've helped better on that regard.
Therefore, the most logical solution would be that Arei was knocked unconscious with the turpentine. But since that's the most likely scenario, then what's up with the taped wrists?
If the taped wrists weren't used to prevent any remote chance for Arei to try to get out of this situation, then it must've been used as part of the murder mechanism.
But since the murder mechanism as shown by Teruko doesn't explain the taped up wrists whatsoever, then this becomes a discrepancy. Therefore, that can't be quite the correct answer to solving the how this murder mechanism works.
And since this murder mechanism idea is flawed, it also means that there's no guarantee that the jugs contained fish water inside, they could've simply gathered water somewhere else or perhaps there jugs were already filled with clean water to begin with.
Because this murder mechanism idea is flawed, there's no guarantee that the culprit used this method which required some unknown amount of strength, but an amount of strength regardless (unless the author wants to pass it off as anyone could've done it since it's easier to do it by spinning it, I'm not sure).
Because of that flaw, my theory isn't affected by the murder mechanism idea that Teruko suggested since there is no guarantee that this is the correct answer.
So yeah, there's no problem whatsoever! Also, as far as I'm aware, since the release of the latest episodes, I have a very logically sound reason to explain the taped up wrists as shown in part 5 of my theory.
To give you a small reminder, it was for something like this!

(Whole murder mechanism not properly shown in the drawing because I'm lazy as heck, but just take a close attention to the arms)
By having Arei's arms go between the pillars of the seasaw, you can make it so that she can't get out of it by taping her wrists together, which plays an important role in the murder mechanism. Not going to elaborate further, if you want to know more, you gotta read the big post right there!
And there you have it! Those were the two main concerns that could've negatively affect my theory, but fortunately for me, it doesn't. In fact, it supports it even more than before.
Especially regarding the David / Arei conversation flashback (shown from David's memory's perspective). This conversation told us a lot more between these two, do you know what that means?
That's right! It means that Ace is full of shit! There's no way he didn't hear anything else. The only way he could've not hear anything else is if he gets snuck up from behind and gets knocked out with the turpentine, but it could've easily simply been Ace witholding that information to make David look more suspicious.
Therefore, if he lied about this, he could've also easily lied about when he actually overheard that conversation for his own selfish gains!
There's also a few couple other points that could further support my theory, but I don't feel like going over every single little detail as of now. I mainly wanted to solve these two issues and nothing else.
So, DRDTers, I need to ask you the following : Do you still believe that I am delusional with this overly complex theory of mine? :)
Thanks for reading another one of my big posts, as usual!
Edit : Go read the finale of my theory next, it's worth it!

"Dumpling cookie gently opened the door-"
Ddlc reference!
Also, if you wanna go further. Make it like a dnaganronpa body discovery, music and all
*the camera pov of dumpling cookie slowly looking from the knocked over chair, to the two dangling cookie legs suspending in the air, and traveling up to y/ns blank look on their face*
Dumpling takes a few moments to realize what she saw *insert danganronpa bda music*, the only thing her eyes can fixate is their face....attached the snapped and broken neck that has the rope slightered around it like a snake
Couldn’t handle the Shadow Milk style.

Rhymix Danganronpa AU or whatever but the wheel chooses their fate you should FUCKING GET IT BY NOW I THINK.
this is cursed.
the cast is determined by The Wheel™ (The Wheel™ made terrible decisions ngl) so yeah. here they are:
Tumblr media
so yeah. the rest of the shit here will be under the cut. let'sa gooooooooooo (is filled with guilt and shame)
———
1. Chapter 1:
- Victim: Ionostream
- Culprit: Stasis
- Quick scenario:
WHAT THE FUCK STASIS-
Okay so basically: after killing game gets announced to the participants by Monocredits (i should really not call him that ew), Stasis gets desperate to escape, so he tricks Ionostream to come with him with the fake reasoning being, "I wanna discuss some escape methods with you! Y'know, ones that don't involve murder~"
Yeah, escape methods that don't involve murder my fucking ASS. He kills her and yeah. Lol. Lmao even. (is in paint without the t rn)
2. Chapter 2:
- Victim: Ringed Genesis
- Culprit: solips
- Quick scenario:
NOOOOO FUCK NOOOOOOOOOOOOO *head in hands*
After the events of chapter 1, Ringed Genesis becomes terrified and paranoid. Meanwhile, Solips—who is driven with even more curiosity than ever before—decides that maybe he should...try something.
Seeing that Genesis is in a more weaker state of mind, Solips takes his plan into action. However, after doing the deed, Solips couldn't help but feel...guilt.
3. Chapter 3:
- Victim 1: Lucas
- Victim 2: FANTA5Y
- Culprit: Upshift
- Quick scenario:
A motive is shown to the participants; whoever kills, their loved ones don't get hurt (which is 100% a motive used in THH ch1 but shhhh i'm still uncreative as shit ok). Upshift, desperate to save both Perfect and NULCTRL's lives, decided that he needed to commit a murder. Because he's stupid.
He thought about doing this with FANTA5Y, because she's also thinking of committing a murder to save one of her own loved ones: her long time crush. They both then decided to work together to sort out a plan to murder...Lucas. Because Lucas is the only one who isn't shown a motive, because that lonely ass of his doesn't have any friends (anymore).
However, what FANTA5Y didn't know, was that Upshift is merely using her for his own gain. After killing Lucas (who really did tried his best to fight back), he killed FANTA5Y.
He feels so bad about it once the trial starts that he just...tries to make sure everyone is convinced enough that he's the culprit. Because he knew damn well that if his two friends knew what he did for their sake, they wouldn't be happy about it at all.
(i'm deadass using the fucking. cursed ch3 format for this one. ew. i got uncreative ok)
(also this one is LONG. I POPPED OFF WITH THIS ONE FUCKKK)
4. Chapter 4:
- Victim: Amazing Mighty
- Culprit: Tempo
- Quick scenario:
Okay, this one makes NO FUCKING SENSE??????
But I guess in this logic Gods Can Be Killed, so whatever.
I genuinely don't know what to come up with for this one. I really don't. Uhhhh-
Motive comes up where if nobody kills Amazing Mighty before midnight strikes, everyone dies. Tempo didn't want that to happen, and decided to give it a shot. Mighty lets him kill him, solely because he's pretty tired with living life as The One Who Transcends All. Tempo kills him, cries about it, and then moves on for the rest of the day until the body discovery announcement.
5. Chapter 5:
- Victim and traitor: Opia
- Culprit: Tsunagite
- Quick scenario:
OH DAMN.
I initially wanted the culprit to be the traitor, but then The Wheel™ landed on Opia as the victim an then I immediately came up with a banger scenario.
Motive for this chapter is literally so fucking vague to the participants: just kill whoever you think is the traitor. Nothing about it says whether you can escape if you don't get caught or not. It just says do it. Lmao.
Tsunagite eventually finds out it's Opia, and filled with rage, kills him with her powers. She later becomes horrified and literally goes insane during the trial. Just- she literally goes insane over her horror of committing a murder. She never did that before, not even with Pandora. So now she's horrified.
She died in such a state too; horrified.
(woagh a traitor?????!!!!!!!!)
6. Chapter 6:
- Mastermind: Lumine
- Survivors: RGB, Ego Eimi, Ray, and Axium Crisis
- Quick scenario(???):
*Destonio voice* LUMINE??????????????
I GENUINELY DON'T KNOW WHAT TO COME UP AS A REASON FOR LUMINE TO BE THE MASTERMIND I REALLY DON'T KNOW 😭😭😭
Uhh.......she hates this world. Idk I genuinely don't know so I'll just leave it as it is.
The literal only child among the cast survived, though! Horray for RGB!
———
OH MY GOD THAT'S ALL WHAT THW FUCK I AM NOT OKAY

Dangancember 2024 - Danganronpa Top 24 Class Trials - Number 8: Danganronpa Another Case 4 {BEST CASE FROM DRA}
Tumblr media
//Yeaaaaaaahhh I don't think anyone is surprised...
//Although, to be fair, it was SOOO CLOOSE which trial between Case 6 and Case 4 would be my ultimate winner for the original Another Despair Academy, because both trials are so goddamn good for me.
//Largely the reason why Case 4 of DRA ends up being the best in that game though is largely because of two reasons:
It's the most emotionally gripping, with the finale coming in close second.
Despite sharing points of commonality with previous fourth cases, this one's overall writing manages to be different enough, and in a way that I really enjoy, especially with the circumstances behind the murder.
//Honestly, I don't really know if I have as much to say about this case as I do the final trial of this game, but that's mainly because there's a lot to unpack with the finale's. This is case is, honestly, fairly simple in practice, but it ends up REALLY getting to you.
//In ways that, I believe, no other closed-off-location case has ever done before.
Tumblr media
//First of all, let's talk about the circumstances behind the motive for this case, what's been going on behind the scenes, and what leads to this case.
//This chapters starts at a very low point, with the boys in particular being very tense, and the despairful mood even getting to Yuki's head. So much so that his defeatist attitude puts him at odds with Akane. But shortly after they investigate the new areas, Monokuma summons the students to the newly opened up Ballroom.
//Monokuma announces he’s hosting a dance party, complete with fancy outfits. The students are suspicious, so he produces a signed memorandum to "prove" his good intentions. After splitting into gender-segregated changing rooms, the students pair up awkwardly for the event: Akane grabs Yuki, and others team up by circumstance or default.
//Dancing leads to dining, and just when things seem lively again, Monokuma reveals his trap: they’re locked in, and their clothes (and handbooks) have disappeared.
//Panic sets in. Tsurugi tests the door, and it's locked. Akane finds their clothes missing. Worse, the food supply dwindles rapidly, thanks in part to Haru and Satsuki’s overeating. Monokuma establushes the stakes: they can’t leave the ballroom unless someone kills. Similar to what we've already seen with DR2's funhouse. Although in this case, supplies are limited instead of just void.
.//e also abolishes all rules except the "no violence against Monokuma" clause, making the ballroom a lawless zone. The students, now prisoners, are forced to sleep in makeshift dorms, with their only escape lying through bloodshed.
//Tensions escalate as the group investigates their grim new surroundings. The limited food becomes a major sticking point as rations mysteriously disappear, fingers point, and arguments flare. Mikako even accuses Satsuki and Haruhiko of hoarding food. Meanwhile, Tsurugi vigilantly guards the arsenal to prevent violence but becomes a polarizing figure in the group.
//As hunger and isolation take their toll, the group fractures further. Teruya lashes out, Haruhiko and Satsuki’s antics frustrate everyone, and even Yuki falls into a hunger-induced trance, nearly succumbing to murderous impulses before Tsurugi literally punches him back to his senses. In desperation, the students consider grim solutions, like drawing lots to sacrifice two people. This dark spiral culminates when Tsurugi suggests mass suicide, even distributing guns to the group. Yuki intervenes, and after a scuffle, Tsurugi is restrained and locked in his room for everyone’s safety.
Tumblr media
//The next morning, things go from bad to worse. The arsenal door is found locked, and when Yuki and Teruya manage to open it, they’re met with a blinding flashbang. Once the smoke clears, Haruhiko’s lifeless body is discovered against a gun display. The body discovery announcement rings out, and Monokuma appears, as cheerful as ever, to provide food, clothing, and student handbooks for the investigation.
//Let the trial begin.
//SO much happens in the build-up to this case that trying to summarize it like this was genuinely NOT easy! But right out of the gate, what I like with this that LINUJ did better than the previous locked-room cases is creating the tension.
//Danganronpa 2's fourth chapter is tense, and things really do start spiralling south for everyone. But specifically, the most arguing that goes on in the funhouse is Kazuichi doubling down on his idea that Hajime is the traitor, and like Yuki, there is a point where Hajime does attempt to go to the final dead room like how Yuki goes to the arsenal.
//But when LINUJ is given a chance to explore his own version of this concept, he ALSO doubles down. As we've seen before with LINUJ, give him an inch, and he'll take a mile.
//Haru is quite possibly the most integral character to this whole case, ending up as the victim for it, because he's actually the one who Masterminded the murder.
Tumblr media
//The night after Tsurugi’s dramatic (and thankfully failed) attempt to encourage mass suicide, tensions remain high, but Haru decides to act on a plan of his own. He meets up with Satsuki, who, by now, is pretty much his only friend in the ballroom, and invites her for a walk. Reluctantly, she agrees, and the two wander through the unsettling confines of the ballroom until they reach the arsenal. It’s there that Haru drops a bombshell, and asks Satsuki to kill him.
//He explains his guilt over consuming so much of their food on the first day and admits that his death could help save the others. Haru, ever the tragic, if clumsy, hero, makes it clear that this plan is optional since he realizes it would mean Satsuki would face execution if she went through with it.
//Surprisingly, or maybe not, considering how Satsuki thinks, she agrees, but she asks him to kill her instead.
//What follows is an absurdly heartfelt but ridiculous argument between the two, as neither wants to be the one to pull the trigger on the other. After bickering like kids fighting over who gets the last slice of cake, but way darker, Haru proposes a compromise: a duel.
//They’ll stand at a distance, fire their guns at the same time, and let fate decide who lives. Satsuki reluctantly agrees, picking out a weapon while Haru secretly rigs his pistol with non-standard bullets, ensuring it’ll explode when fired.
Tumblr media
//The tension is high as they prepare for their duel. They aim. They fire. Satsuki’s bullet hits Haru square in the right lung, while his gun explodes, shredding his hand in a grotesque mess. Haru collapses, bleeding profusely but still alive enough to deliver a heartfelt confession.
//He admits that his plan wasn’t entirely altruistic. He didn’t just want to save the others. What he really wanted was to ensure that Satsuki, specifically, survived.
//This motive already sets Haru apart from all the other Case 4 motives. Aside from the fact that he's the victim and not the killer, most of the Chapter 4 kills were done as part of a greater purpose to ensure the general survival of the group:
In DR1, Sakura commits suicide to end the tension that was plaguing the other students surrounding her reveal as the traitor, and dies in an act of defiance that convinces the other students to take a stand against Monokuma.
In DR2, Gundham and Nekomaru fight, and Gundham kills him to break everyone out of the funhouse, not just in a sacrificial move, but in a way that teaches the others to not give up on their lives, or their willingness to escape.
In V3, while it's a bit more complicated, Kokichi sacrificing Miu and Gonta is the prelude to his master plan to destroy the Killing Game and take Monokuma down.
In Another 2, Shinji, like Sakura, deals the final blow to himself so that Yuki and Sora can be exempt from becoming the Blackened who killed him.
//But with Haru, his motives for setting this crime up were not the survival of the group. Just Satsuki alone. And there's a really upsetting and emotional reason why.
Tumblr media
//He reveals that a few days earlier, he’d found Monokuma’s hidden treasure, his prize being a photograph of himself and Satsuki kissing. The image stirred emotions he didn’t fully understand at first, but over time he realized he cared deeply for her and couldn’t bear to let her die.
//Though devastated, Satsuki flees, leaving Haru to enact the final part of his plan: creating a locked-room mystery to confuse everyone. He wedges a wooden plank into the door handles and rigs smoke and flash grenades on top, ensuring the scene looks chaotic and staged. With his remaining strength, he trashes the room and smears his blood everywhere, making it look like an elaborate crime scene. Finally, he collapses against a gun display, sitting upright as his life slips away.
//In true Haru fashion, his last moments are as messy as his choices, but undeniably heartfelt.
//Haru’s role in the finale of the game is so central that it’s easy to underestimate just how important his character is until it all comes to a head. At first glance, he seems to fit the mold of characters like Kazuichi or Yasuhiro; comic relief with a streak of annoying, someone you’d naturally expect to survive the killing game based on sheer genre convention.
//This makes his sudden, tragic death in Chapter 4 all the more shocking and impactful. Especially because he was a genuine friend to Yuki in his time alive.
//Haru’s arc is fascinating because, while he starts as a flawed and abrasive character, this chapter demonstrates just how much depth he brings to the narrative. What sets him apart is his steadfast dedication to his ideals, even in the face of overwhelming despair.
Tumblr media
//From the beginning, Haru adamantly believes that no one should kill to escape, and he never wavers from this belief, no matter how dire the situation becomes. Hunger is one of the most primal forces that breaks people down, and by Chapter 4, it’s clear that Haru is struggling. He and Satsuki sneak food from the fridge, an act of desperation, not malice, but he never even considers turning to murder. Instead, he does everything he can to convince others to stick to their humanity, even when he’s running on fumes himself.
//What makes this chapter even more poignant is the reveal that Haru and Satsuki had dated before the killing game began. Learning this casts his actions in a new light, and his desperate attempt to save her at the expense of the others isn’t born from selfishness but from love and guilt. He’s willing to sacrifice himself, cheat fate, and risk Satsuki hating him if it means she can survive.
//Haru’s refusal to actually become a killer, even when crafting his elaborate duel plan, highlights the tragic paradox of his character. He’s willing to die for what he believes in, but he’s also willing to bend the rules just enough to try and protect the one person he loves.
//Adding to the intrigue, when you really think about his plan and the way he carries himself as a character, Haru serves as an interesting foil to Miu Iruma, even though this game predates Danganronpa V3.
Tumblr media
//Both Haru and Miu are hot-headed characters, known for their loud personalities, inappropriate remarks, and tendency to irritate their classmates. Both are geniuses in their respective fields (Haru’s engineering prowess and Miu’s inventive brilliance) but they’re also shockingly dense when it comes to emotional intelligence or basic common sense.
//They share a knack for cheating systems, bending rules, and creating chaos, yet their stories diverge in fascinating ways.
//For instance, while both characters are victims in their respective Chapter 4s, the circumstances of their deaths couldn’t be more different. Haru orchestrates much of the setup that leads to his demise, cheating in his duel with Satsuki in a misguided attempt to ensure her survival. His sacrifice is deeply personal, tied to his desire to protect Satsuki specifically, even if it means dooming others.
//By contrast, Miu’s death in V3 comes after she manipulates the virtual simulation, attempting to kill Kokichi and escape with her own life to save everyone else from what she perceives as an imminent threat.
//Where Haru cheats for love and personal connection, Miu cheats out of self-preservation and an oddly altruistic desire to protect the world as a whole. As...kind of dumb as Miu is here.
//Their roles as architects of their own downfalls also reflect their differences. Haru’s elaborate staging of the locked-room mystery and his final duel highlight his ingenuity but also his willingness to place Satsuki above everyone else. Meanwhile, Miu’s death hinges on her miscalculation. She underestimates Gonta’s gullibility towards Kokichi and overestimates her ability to control the simulation.
Tumblr media
//Ultimately, Haru stands out as one of the most complex characters in the killing game, as simple as he initially comes across. His flaws, arrogance, impulsiveness, and a tendency to act before thinking, make him fairly relatable, while his determination to protect Satsuki, even at the cost of his life, cements him as a tragic yet noble figure.
//But what makes this chapter so critical is that Haru, despite being the centerpiece, is not the only character to have some standout moments of depth in this segment of the game.
//I don't want to spend too long talking about Tsurugi, because this is definitely his lowest point in the game, but the solution he comes up with to end the game and try to get everyone out of this situation is so...horrifying.
Tumblr media
//It's a chilling reflection of his complex character and the extremes he’s willing to go to in pursuit of his ideals. At his core, Tsurugi is a deeply principled person, defined by his unwavering belief in justice. However, his interpretation of justice is rigid and authoritarian, often placing the greater good above individual lives.
//In this chapter, that worldview takes an even darker turn, as his plan to force everyone to commit suicide reveals both his desperation and the flaws in his ideology.
//The botched mass-suicide attempt demonstrates how Tsurugi’s obsession with law and order has consumed him, distorting his sense of morality. His actions are not just those of someone trying to end the killing game; they’re the actions of someone who has lost faith in humanity's ability to save itself.
//By orchestrating a situation where everyone is forced to "choose" death, Tsurugi plays both executioner and savior, believing that this is the only way to stop the cycle of killing. It’s a horrifying solution, but it’s also tragically consistent with his character. He sees death as preferable to letting anyone betray their moral compass by becoming a murderer, and in his mind, this is the ultimate act of mercy.
//This plan also highlights his hubris and his struggle to reconcile his ideals with the reality of the killing game. He has always presented himself as a paragon of justice, but this chapter exposes the cracks in that persona. His willingness to manipulate and control others to achieve his goals undermines the very principles he claims to uphold.
//And this is even pointed out directly by Kinji Uehara in the previous chapter, coming to a head here.
//He isn't fighting to protect the group or uphold justice so much as he’s enforcing his own vision of it, regardless of the cost.
//And of all the moments in the game where we see Tsurugi at his worst, this is the point that really makes you wonder whether his sense of justice was ever truly virtuous or simply a mask for his need to exert control.
//Furthermore, Tsurugi’s failure to execute his plan successfully is symbolic of his deeper failure as a leader. His rigidity and refusal to adapt to the nuances of human emotion leave him isolated and incapable of inspiring trust, despite how that was his goal when the Killing Game began. Unlike characters who evolve and learn to work with others, Tsurugi doubles down on his authoritarian mindset, which ultimately backfires.
//His breakdown and eventual apprehension mark a turning point for his character, as it’s a moment where he’s forced to confront the consequences of his uncompromising beliefs. And this is taken to the extreme, and really changes him, when Satsuki's guilt is discovered...But we'll get to that.
//Tsurugi’s actions stem from a place of conviction, but his inability to see beyond his black-and-white view of morality leads him down a path of destruction. He’s not inherently evil, his desire to prevent further suffering is genuine, but his methods are so severe that they strip him of empathy and humanity.
Tumblr media
//And of course, this chapter is also the critical turning point for Teruya. Who is another central character in this game, and where his character arc and importance comes full circle.
//Teruya is very straightforwardly the Yasuhiro Hagakure. He’s an ambiguously brown student with a carefree attitude, and his relaxed demeanor might make him seem like the comic relief or the one who’s always a step behind when it comes to the investigations. After all, he’s the guy who’s not particularly helpful, tends to act erratic, and doesn't seem to grasp the gravity of the situation.
//And yet, there’s more to Teruya than meets the eye. Beneath that nonchalant exterior, there's a whirlwind of complexities that make him one of the more interesting characters to analyze.
//Teruya’s true character starts to unfold in Chapter 3, where he begins to stand out not because of his typical lazy attitude, but because of how he reacts to the increasingly dire situation. Unlike the others, who maintain a sliver of optimism despite the lack of progress in escaping, Teruya becomes increasingly frustrated and vocal about the futility of their efforts, upset that everyone is pretending everything is fine when it's very clearly not.
//This clash of outlooks leads to a heated confrontation with Haru, which Kakeru has to step in and break up. While everyone else tries to maintain a sense of hope, Teruya’s emotional detachment and his outright disbelief in their attempts to stay positive leave a lot of his classmates wary of him.
//But here’s the thing. While Teruya may come off as the sarcastic, cynical guy in the corner, he also has an uncanny ability to stir the pot, and it’s all part of his more vindictive side.
//He starts to stir suspicion, particularly towards Yuki, when he hints that he knows more about the mastermind behind the killing game than anyone realizes. Teruya tries to convince the others that they should mistrust Yuki, throwing around cryptic suggestions that he may have ratted out Mikako’s secret hideout.
//Of course, this causes even more tension, especially when Kanata tells him to shut up, yet Teruya's ability to sow doubt in the group is interesting because it shows his underlying paranoia and capability of manipulation. But just when you think Teruya’s going to stay on the fringes, he pulls a real "hold my drink" moment in Chapter 4.
Tumblr media
//He starts by getting all bent out of shape over Haruhiko and Satsuki stealing food on Day 1. He’s furious, pointing fingers, but then, plot twist, Rei reveals that Teruya himself was the one sneaking food in his room.
//This, as you might imagine, makes Haru absolutely livid, and fists end up flying. But things don’t stop there.
//Teruya then proposes a fun little game where two students draw lots to decide a culprit and a victim who will sacrifice themselves for the greater good.
//This idea is already a hard sell, but it gets even worse when Tsurugi threatens mass suicide to "prevent murders," and Teruya completely breaks down, crying and begging not to be killed.
//It’s here that you really see how volatile, and hypocritical he is. One moment he’s all about manipulation, the next he’s begging for his life.
//And it's largely because of his nature in Chapter 4 of Another 1 that I kind of stand up for his attitude in Another 2. It may have been more theatrical, but even without Tsurugi's influence, Teruya has proven to be capable of all the same types of traits beforehand.
//But things only get juicier from there with him. In an attempt to take things into his own hands, Teruya plans a duel with Haru, rigging his gun to explode when fired. He sends a letter to meet Haru at the armory, but because he’s too exhausted and hungry, he falls asleep and misses the meeting.
//So when Haru is found dead the next day, Teruya is completely convinced that Haru triggered the trap on his own, making himself the true culprit. However, the twist is that Teruya’s whole plan didn’t even factor into Haru’s death.
//Instead, the similarities were a complete coincidence, he was shot by Satsuki, and the gun he was holding was rigged by none other than Haru himself. Teruya, unaware of this, ends up being the prime suspect because he’s the one who could have written Haru’s note. And he's only absolved from suspicion when everyone realizes that while Teruya could be the killer, he could not have set up the locked room that Haru was inside.
//What makes this even more fascinating is how Teruya reacts when the truth finally comes out. Initially, he feels justified in his actions, but once the facts are laid bare and Haru’s final words reach him, Teruya’s self-loathing takes center stage.
//Haru’s last message to Satsuki was for her to apologize to Teruya on his behalf for their previous fallout, and it hits Teruya like a ton of bricks. This moment of guilt and realization forces him to confront just how far he’s fallen, and it leads to a significant character change.
Tumblr media
//From that point forward, Teruya starts wearing Haruhiko’s goggles to honor his memory. It’s a small gesture, but it speaks volumes about his emotional growth and the weight of his conscience.
//In many ways, Teruya is a character that subverts expectations. He may seem like the lazy, unreliable guy who gets into unnecessary conflicts, but his complexity lies in the moments when he’s forced to confront his own actions. His attempts to manipulate the group and his misguided sense of survival ultimately reveal his vulnerability and internal struggles.
//But of course, there's one other character critical to this case, and the one who really carries it through, despite not saying much.
Tumblr media
//Satsuki Iranami. Hands down the best killer in this whole game.
//To be perfectly honest, when I first heard that there was an Ultimate Clown in this game, my immediate thought was that she was going to be the Mikan/Kiyo of this game, and secretly turn out to be a crazed murderer. And I very quickly realized that that could not be the case based on her personality.
//Which made me glad. But all the more shocking when she turned out to be a murderer anyway, as well as her motivation and actions.
//Satsuki is a character who initially appears to be a playful and easy-going clown, the type who cracks jokes and brings a bit of levity to an otherwise grim situation. But as the class trial unfolds, she reveals herself to be far more complex than anyone could have expected.
//Because she does something that to this day, no other Danganronpa character has done.
//She OUTS HERSELF at the BEGINNING OF THE TRIAL!
Tumblr media
//Right out of the gate, Satsuki attempts to just confess to killing Haru and end the trial before it even begins. It's almost like she’s trying to take the easy way out, throwing her hands up and accepting her arrest. But things quickly spiral when the evidence Teruya left behind from his murder plan and her inability to explain why Haru’s hand exploded start to backfire, making her confession look less like a simple admittance and more like a desperate, guilt-ridden attempt to end it all.
//Satsuki’s attempt to confess, however, only serves to make things more complicated. Rei, ever the sharp-tongued critic, accuses her of trying to get everyone killed in her grief over Haru’s death, painting her as a manipulator who’s intentionally misdirecting the investigation. Ironic, considering what Teruya tries to do in this case.
//So, Satsuki, not one to shy away from a fight, decides to just let the trial play out as Mikako advises, trusting that eventually, everyone will come around and realize the truth.
//But when the evidence turns back on her in the end, no one can believe it. And honestly, can you blame them? It’s a tough pill to swallow that the seemingly cheerful, LITERAL clown could actually be the one responsible for such a twisted chain of events.
//What makes Satsuki’s role in the trial especially interesting is the effect it has on the other characters, particularly Rei and Tsurugi, the game’s two main antagonists up until this point. Both Rei and Tsurugi have been antagonistic forces in the game, with Rei’s jerkass tendencies and Tsurugi’s black-and-white worldview putting them at odds with pretty much everyone else. But Satsuki’s actions in the trial throw both of them for a loop, serving as the catalyst for their development in later chapters.
Tumblr media
//Rei, who’s been as unhelpful as possible throughout the game, often dismissing everyone around her as idiots, is faced with a situation she can’t immediately solve. She’s so used to being the one who stands apart from the group, offering little to no assistance unless directly forced to, that the emotional weight of Satsuki’s sacrifice is almost incomprehensible to her.
//The fact that Haruhiko, a victim in the game, gave up his life to save Satsuki by creating a Locked Room Mystery to help her escape, blows Rei’s mind. She simply can’t fathom a victim willingly sacrificing themselves for another person, especially when she’s never witnessed that kind of selflessness before. And when Satsuki confirms that Haru’s sacrifice was real and not some elaborate ruse, Rei is completely floored. It’s a moment of realization that hits her harder than anything else in the game up to that point.
Tumblr media
//Tsurugi, on the other hand, finds himself completely softlocked by Satsuki’s behavior. He’s been steadfast in his belief that victims should be punished because, in his mind, they’re the ones causing the chaos. He can’t wrap his head around the idea of a victim doing something to help their killer, and when Satsuki tries to confess with no provocation, it shakes him to his core.
//His inability to comprehend Satsuki’s motivations is so profound that it causes him to pass out, which is a huge moment for a character like Tsurugi, who’s usually so composed and in control. The whole ordeal forces him to question everything he’s believed in up until that point, turning his worldview upside down.
//While Satsuki’s actions may confuse and challenge these antagonistic characters, what really makes her situation heartbreaking is her motivation. She’s essentially playing a game of Xanatos Gambit; a plan in which all potential outcomes, even those that appear to be failures, ultimately benefit the planner.
//In this case, Satsuki is trying to ensure that either she lives at the expense of everyone else, honoring Haruhiko’s final wish, or she’s outed as the killer, allowing the others to survive while she joins Haruhiko in the afterlife.
//Satsuki, however, chooses the latter because, deep down, she could never go through with a plan that would result in everyone else’s death. It’s a tragic, self-sacrificial decision that highlights her inner conflict and the complexity of her character.
//Her decision to confess early in the trial reflects a surprising internal struggle, as she’d rather face the consequences herself than drag others into it. The first time she outs herself, it’s completely out of the blue, catching everyone off guard. The second time, when Yuki outs her, she comes off as too cheerful, which seems forced.
//But it turns out this is all part of her strategy to protect the others while not entirely dishonoring Haruhiko’s last request. It’s almost like she’s wearing a mask, keeping up appearances to make sure that even in death, she’s still able to honor the person who sacrificed so much for her.
//And of course, this marks a turning point in the game. Satsuki’s execution, which occurs at the end of Chapter 4, is not just the end of her character arc but the moment where the game shifts tone. As the main source of comic relief up until this point, Satsuki’s death symbolizes the severing of the lighthearted moments and the start of a much darker, more dramatic turn in the story.
//The "clown" has been metaphorically and literally "shooed out," and what’s left is a much more somber atmosphere that sets the stage for the emotional intensity that follows.
Tumblr media
//What makes Satsuki’s journey so amazing is how her transformation from comic relief to a tragic hero highlights the unexpected depth hidden beneath her initially cheerful facade. Her sacrifice for the others, combined with her internal moral struggle, makes her one of the most tragic yet fascinating characters in the game.
//It’s a perfect example of how appearances can be deceiving, while also not doubling down on the idea of turning something that should spark joy into something that induces horror; and how a seemingly frivolous character can end up being a key player in the narrative’s emotional core.
//To end this review off, I want to talk about one last thing that I notice among the fanbase that people don't really seem to like, and it's quite crucial for this game in particular.
//This is not the first, or the last time that Danganronpa does this, but motives like the Ballroom, or the Funhoise, where characters are forced into a life-or-death situation, have often been a point of contention for fans of the Danganronpa series.
//The reasons for this frustration are multifaceted, rooted in how such motives can feel manipulative or overly simplistic, undermining the complexity of character development and the emotional stakes that the game works so hard to build.
//But despite these drawbacks, the "kill or die" motive still works in certain cases, especially when used strategically to enhance the narrative.
//I want to break down both sides of the argument to better understand why this trope often sparks such division and, at the same time, why it remains effective in this specific context.
//First off, In many cases, these motives reduce characters to simple archetypes driven solely by survival instincts. Rather than allowing for nuanced personal growth or moral dilemmas, these motives often force characters into extreme decisions for the sake of plot, leaving little room for the exploration of deeper emotional or philosophical themes.
//When a character is pushed into a corner where the only apparent choice is to kill or be killed, it can feel like the narrative is taking shortcuts, focusing more on shock value than on organic storytelling. Like the story is forcing characters into situations where their choices seem preordained, rather than allowing them to act on their individual desires or motivations.
//These situations often remove a character's agency by presenting a false dichotomy. Lill, or everyone will die/you will die. This undermines the central theme of Danganronpa, which is the struggle to overcome despair through hope and human connection.
//In these situations, characters are pushed toward morally gray choices, often without the room to make a decision that aligns with their values, resulting in a sense of helplessness. Instead of exploring what drives a character to kill, the narrative can sometimes skip over these crucial moments and go straight to the aftermath, which can make the choices feel hollow or too convenient.
//But I actually want to stick up for the idea in this game in particular.
//Danganronpa is built around the tension between Despair and Hope, and that's why these motives that force characters into a desperate place where their decisions are influenced by their understanding of hope, survival, and the consequences of their actions need to be here.
//In situations where characters are pushed to their limits, the way they navigate this choice can reveal a lot about their character and beliefs.
//Satsuki is a character who embodies a sense of self-sacrifice, guilt, and emotional turmoil, which makes the kill or die scenario particularly poignant. Unlike characters who might kill out of pure desperation or for personal gain, Satsuki’s motivation comes from a place of love, guilt, and a desire to protect others.
//Her internal conflict is the core of why the trope works here. She could have escaped, and was even urged to do so by Haru, but instead, she chooses to place the lives of others above her own, knowing that her actions will ultimately lead to death.
//The situation becomes even more tragic because Satsuki doesn’t simply make a choice based on survival. She is forced to confront the moral implications of that survival, and whether it's worth sacrificing herself in a way that might let others live.
//The scenario is further complicated by Haru's involvement in his own death. Satsuki’s confession attempt, premature and out of the blue, shocks the others, who can’t comprehend her actions, particularly Rei and Tsurugi, whose emotional limitations prevent them from understanding her sacrifice. This misunderstanding leads to significant character development for them, forcing them to confront their own emotional shortcomings.
//As the narrative shifts from humor to tragedy, Satsuki’s death marks a turning point, highlighting themes of self-sacrifice, moral complexity, and the true cost of survival.
//This motive also sparks Rei’s and Tsurugi’s development, pushing them to reconsider their previously rigid views on morality and human connection. The trope works here because it serves as both a plot device and a means to explore deeper emotional and thematic layers, rather than just a shock tactic.
//Which is why it's so important. And why this is the best case in the first Another game.

Surprise!!!
Sorry for the lack of posts lately, but *insert the usual excuses here*. I plan to get back to drawing stuff at some point, but in the meantime, allow me to present my very first piece of Murder Drones fan art!
Tumblr media
I bet you didn't see this coming a mile away, huh? 😏
So, consider this scenario: At some point before the canon events in Murder Drones, our favorite Worker Drone Uzi Doorman gets herself into a different sort of predicament -- one that lands her on planet Earth in the past. When in the past, you ask? How about, oh...
...2009?
Tumblr media
For those of you who haven't looked at the game Class of '09, either of its sequels, or the anime...
...
...
...
...
...don't. It's mostly a load of garbage. 😒 No, for real, it makes Danganronpa look tame by comparison, and y'all know how I feel about that game. 😏
That being said, as someone who graduated high school in 2009 in the real world (no foolin') and has some knowledge of the ups, downs, way ups, and way downs of high school life in the US back then, I found the less trashy parts of the game to be both relatable and inspiring. I also had fun trying to decide who to dislike more -- the psychopathic protagonist Nicole or the equally messed-up characters she's surrounded by. 😅 (Even so, I don't recommend going into it without putting on a gas mask first. You've been warned.)
In any case, there's a reason why I chose to have these two angsty teens meet each other. As some of you may know, they don't just have similar personalities -- they're also voiced by the same talented voice actress, Elsie Lovelock! 😄 As soon as I made that discovery, it didn't take me long to see the parallels between Uzi and Nicole's personalities (not to mention their backstories) and start wondering how well they would relate to one another. They might be from different worlds, cultures, and situations, but I could still see them having a lot to talk about. And if you're familiar with either of them, then you know just how desperately both of them can use someone to talk to. It just seemed right somehow, I guess. 😊
Getting the details right in this picture -- the different shines on Uzi's hair, face, body, arms, and beanie, her unique eye and mouth design, the fine details in Nicole's hair, face, and outfit, the shadows, and the pattern of the floor tiles -- was a pretty fun challenge, I have to say. I used a few different pictures of Uzi as references, but for Nicole, I just used her smiling sprite:
Tumblr media
The device in her hand is a Sidekick, based on a picture of one:
Tumblr media
And finally, the room they're in is the cafeteria from Class of '09:
Tumblr media
Why Nicole is the only one there who's interested in chatting with a drone from the future...I have no idea. That's just a minor detail, though, right? 😉
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this brief collision of worlds, and I also hope to see y'all again real soon (hopefully with something new to share). Take care!

Why is Wolfs game chapter 3 bad?
//I decided to let Timeline Anon answer this one in depth, and I hope this is the last we have to discuss this ^^;
________________________________________________
Hey, everyone, it’s Timeline Anon! Long time no see. I promise I will finish chronicling the V-Day arc eventually, I’ve been busy with life and my own personal projects. But for today, since Bubbles is too squeamish to answer people’s questions about the world’s worst fangan, he generously agreed to allow me to provide the explanation instead! After all, I'm the one who's introduced him to every non-Another fangan he's ever played, so it's only fitting.
So, my friend, CAN YOUR HEART STAND TO HEAR THE SHOCKING FACTS ABOUT DANGANRONPA: THE WOLF'S GAME?!?!?!?
(I will try to keep this tale as sanitized as possible.)
Danganronpa: The Wolf's Game is a fangan that is written in a text format, but still uses picture sprites (rather like how ASOOT is written). They have videos for body discoveries and executions and stuff, but the rest is as I said. It's on Wordpress for the most part. Also there is a character with Cotard's syndrome just like in that fangan Bubbles sometimes works on and off on, but that's not really important.
The killing game itself is heavily inspired by the game "Ultimate Werewolf," so there are two masterminds hidden among the cast, called the Werewolves. The Werewolves are like the Voids, but with less people and no redeeming qualities. The developer, a fellow by the name of Aquamarino, once said that he wants DRWG to be the darkest fangan ever made, saying that he hopes that it can dethrone even SDRA2 in that department. This will be important going forward.
Now, by all accounts, the first two chapters weren't so bad. I haven't actually read them because I don't have time for this shit in my life, so I don't know how good they were, but there was no Bad Stuff in them. It's Chapter 3 when things took a sharp left turn into pukesville.
Several things happened in Chapter 3. To start with, one character was accused of actually being a famous serial killer in disguise (she wasn't) on the grounds that they looked similar, and she was bullied and gaslit so hard that eventually she actually believed that she was said serial killer. As a result, she became so overcome with guilt that she committed suicide by, I shit you not, throwing herself into a vat of acid.
Then the typical double murder happened, because we will never be free of that curse. One of the victims was found horrifically murdered in a bathtub, wearing nothing but her underwear, and it was revealed that whoever killed her also sexually assaulted her. FUN!
Now we come to the Chapter 3 trial. A trial which, I would like to note, originally had no trigger warnings on it whatsoever and only added these warnings after getting backlash. The fanbase, mind you, was mostly made up of minors, but it's okay because, to quote Aquamarino, "most have a very strong stomach!"
But what's so bad about this trial, you ask? Well, it turned out that one of the victims, the one who was supposedly assaulted, faked her own death/assault and was the actual culprit of the case. and also one of the aforementioned Werewolves. Specifically, she was the Twilight Werewolf, aka the Avatar of Sin, and her whole schtick is that she has committed every mortal sin ever. Yes, all of them. Including cannibalism. And all the sex crimes. And inciting nuclear war?? She has a whole list she goes through. Also, she SA'ed the corpse of the other victim, and while she explained this to the surviving students, she ate his leg right in front of them. Disgusting. Why does she do all this? What is her motivation? Got me. She really likes to sin, I guess. I'd say that this was written by an edgy teenager obsessed with grimdark, but Aquamarino is, like, 28.
(Also, her evil design is just atrocious. She wears a long red hood and nothing else. Her hair covers up the naughty bits.)
She talks about some executions she's done in the past that are so disgusting I will not even tell you what they were. All I will mention is that children were involved.
Here's the kicker: After all that, our heroes get to decide what to do with her. No less than FOUR of the remaining students suggest SA'ing her to death. These are supposed to be the good guys. (Thankfully, that's not what they end up doing, but still!)
And that's Wolf's Game Chapter 3! I'm sure Review Anon can go into a lot more detail if they ever decide to, but suffice to say, there's a reason it's considered by everyone who knows of it to be the worst fangan of all time.

please tell me ur patterns. plea
my danganronpa autism patterns…… for u……
chapter one:
tricked into murder
leon didn’t mean to kill sayaka. in fact, it was shown that she accidentally stabbed herself during the struggle in the bathroom, but since there were no cameras there, no one but leon knew, and it’s likely he fully believed he was the one who stabbed her.
teruteru only acts because he thinks nagito is planning to kill someone, and interrupts to take out a person he deemed as dangerous to the group. while he did mean to kill, he got the wrong victim.
kaede meant to take out the mastermind, and set up her trap accordingly. instead of killing the mastermind, however, she “killed” rantaro.
“important” victim
sayaka was played up to be makoto’s helper, of sorts, and also a possible love interest. she was the character we, the player, gotten the closest to at that point.
twogami had stepped up to be the leader of the group. additionally, since we believed him to be the real byakuya togami, his death so early was even more alarming.
in both previous games, the character with an unknown talent survived until the end, and coming into/remembering their talents was an important part of their stories. rantaro, however, doesn’t live long enough for that. he, additionally, is set up as the mysterious, knows more than they let on character type, like kyoko. additionally, the protagonist herself is killed in this chapter.
chapter two:
killer reveal
togami’s set up baits out genocider, a known serial killer with a considerable body count.
peko’s true talent as a swordswoman for the yakuza is revealed. ignoring the sparkling justice red herring, it’s reasonable to assume she’s killed at least once (ignoring her time as a remnant).
while technically after the trial, kokichi outs maki as the ultimate assassin, making it damn certain that she’s killed.
hard framing of another
byakuya strings up chihiro’s body and writes in blood to frame toko/genocide.
peko knocks out hiyoko and leaves a gummy bear at the scene. hiyoko’s footsteps are the only ones seen running from the scene after the body’s discovery.
kirumi reveals ryoma’s body at himiko’s magic show, leading everyone to believe it was himiko’s doing.
something unobtainable/something lost (unsure how to classify this one but trust me it’s There)
mondo snaps because he sees chihiro as a better person than he, a man he could never be, and is overwhelmed with anger. he lost his brother and could never move on, but chihiro suffered so much and was able to despite it all.
peko kills mahiru because of her covering up the true killer of fuyuhiko’s sister.
ryoma lets himself be killed because he has nothing left, while kirumi has the weight of japan on her shoulders. she’s what he never was: someone with a purpose.
chapter three:
double murder
kiyotaka and hifumi
ibuki and hiyoko
angie and tenko
death of a gay(coded) character
it’s not even coded! a spikechunsoft rep confirmed that taka and mondo had feelings for each other, even if they didn’t know it themselves.
more arguable, but mahiru and hiyoko’s relationship can very easily be interpreted as more than just friends. additionally, both ibuki and mikan are canonically sapphic.
tenko.
killing for love
celes kills for the person she loves most—herself. not only does she want the money to fulfill her dream, but she’s also led to kill because her heightened sense of self made it impossible for her to coexist with her classmates.
despair disease reminds mikan of her true love—junko. while it’s very clearly the remnant brainwashing talking, it could also be argued that mikan did admire junko even before then.
kiyo kills for the only person he’s ever loved—his sister. as fucked as it is, she’s the reason he turned to killing in the first place, and his love for her is what inspires him to continue on with his plans even after angie intervened.
death of a developing character
taka had just managed to overcome mondo’s death, and gained a brand-new personality to go along with it! but then he dies, so all of that was for nothing, i guess.
mahiru’s death hit hiyoko hard, and it’s clear that she was trying to open up more to the group and soften her ways. too bad she never got to show that improvement.
tenko’s relationship with himiko had finally begun to improve into something tangible, and she was even starting to get along with some of the guys! until one of them killed her.
focus on female antagonist
celeste
mikan
angie, although unlike the others, hers is pre-trial while the others are built up during it
chapter four:
for the “greater good”
sakura sacrifices herself not only for her classmate’s survival, but because she feels as if she has failed them as the “traitor”. this is the only way she feels she can both fulfill her promise and keep her family safe, while also protecting her friends.
both gundham and nekomaru sacrifice themselves so the group can go on, because otherwise, they would’ve all starved to death in the funhouse (asides from nidai).
gonta doesn’t only kill miu because of the “secret of the outside world”, but because she was planning on killing kokichi, which she could’ve very easily gotten away with, leading to everyone’s deaths but her own.
death of the buff character
sakura
nidai
gonta
chapter five:
overly complicated (goes without explanation i feel)
shrouded blackened/victim
mukuro’s body is covered and destroyed before any real investigation can be done. additionally, her killer is literally hidden, as the real junko had yet to make an appearance at that point.
the culprit themselves don’t know they did it! because of komaeda’s set up, chiaki throwing the poison bottle was pure luck, and nothing else.
we don’t even know who’s the victim and who’s the culprit for the entire trial, with kokichi’s body squished, and the eva not only hiding kaito, but allowing him to change his voice at will.
honorable mention: someone explodes
when the bombs around mukuro’s body are detonated, genocider is sent flying, but ends up being unharmed.
when komaeda blows up the dining hall/restaurant area, souda is caught up in the explosion, but he’s fine.
i don’t have anything for chapter six other than the big reveal bc other than that i think the similarities would be more in the themes than anything and. i am not putting myself through v3’s final trial again you can’t fucking make me

final thought scramble on OSNI:
I was not as into it as I was with the main storyline but I think that's a common thing with Ordem spinoffs for me so like this wasn't unexpected. but objectively speaking this was definitely a very good season!!
LOVED what Bárbara and Milo had going on. Bagi and Matt specifically playing them helped I think, bc they were just. not afraid to put everything into the roleplay, including the physical stuff that this being in-person lets them do? which I think really helped. I really really liked those two and their relationship. importante pra mim
that being said: THE FLORENCE SIBLINGS WERE ALSO REALLY GOOD. loved those two also.
I didn't really care about Wanderley? I think I just find it hard to get invested in Rakin's characters for some reason. with Thiago his dynamic with Liz is what saves him for me but like. idk. I care about Dante slightly more than Wanderley and I don't really care for Dante either so do with that what you will I suppose. Wanderley was good as a plot device if not for much else (to me)
Bagi's acting was really good. it always is, and everyone else also did really well, but Bagi is always a delight to see in Ordem and she absolutely delivered. loved her
LOTS of relevant NPCs! although should've had more women in the relevant roles. just looking at the list of like. Cavalcante, Adrian, Montel, Bartô, Barnabé, Celestino, Evandro and Otávio (plus kind of Pedrinho & Vitinho too), against Angelina, Livia, Navia and Amora (& maybe Helena), is like. y'know. (although tbf this is not unique to OSNI I just felt it was kind of more noticeable with just how relevant NPCs were in this season)
loved Bisteca. kittycat is important
I do like that Cellbit was not afraid to kill off Amora but also DAMN.
THE SOUNDTRACK WAS REALLY GOOD. love how cohesive it all is. I really like the banjo in the chill bits vs the bell in the horror (I'm going to have that stupid bell stuck in my head for days). but the bell and that really simple six-note pattern are really effective in driving the horror feeling of it all. especially since the bell is so often diegetic too!
lore-wise: interesting to be combining Sangue & Morte like this! and there was some shit being hinted at in the post-credits there too. very interesting
speaking of the post-credits/finale: ARTHUR... meu amor... very happy to see him again even if only for a little bit <3
the little body discovery cutscenes do remind me a lot of danganronpa I maintain this. however they were also very cool and I really liked them
if there is one word this season taught me it is derreter. came up a few times. y'know
and I think that's everything I can think of atm. but! yeah. good season! really looking forward to watching SDOL soon :D

putting corpse party characters in danganronpa wouldnt work because kizami would break the rule of only killing two people and get executed before a body discovery announcement even played

Danganronpa case 3 with the two victims, and they're discovered side-by-side like in 1-3 when the Body Discovery Announcement goes off.
The mid-trial twist is that we've actually been litigating this case wrong this whole time and that's why it seems impossible for anyone to have killed both of these victims. One of them isn't a victim. Monokuma executed them for a rule violation on the same night that a murder took place, and he didn't tell anyone because it'd make the trial more interesting.
We're only actually supposed to be trying the case of the other victim.

Trial of the Double Feature
Omg I love the Blurple background to honour Tsuno and Kamimura
So unreal to see the 'death portraits', Tsuno's stab trap holes and Kamimura's blood coming out of his mouth and subtle blood along the neck because of his sweater 😩
Poor Watari and Ken are inbetween two podiums of the deceased 😩
~~~
Tumblr media
Based on the layout... if we are to assume every survivor will end up between two deceased podiums that leaves Watari, Ken, Mai, Hama, Wada, Hiroaki and Okazaki alive
Meaning Yanagi, Ojima and Tamba are getting killed off next
Probably won't happen but I LOVE theorising based off of visual elements
(Note: After learning Okazaki dies this theory is debunked immediately but I like to have fun okay? 😭😂)
~~~
Danganronpa rules for who escapes, makes sense
Omg Tamba accusing Wada, so naive but you're ded to me anyway Tamba 😩
Hanano getting coy... *yes*
I love how Mai, Yanagi, Ojima and Hiroaki agreed straight away that Wada was telling the truth and that stabbing Okazaki was deserved
Watari popping off with the voice acting and raw emotion, being on Wada's side, calling him her friend 🥺
Ken telling Tamba not to talk about Kamimura that way... thank you for showing respect
Ken saying Kamimura wasn't weak 🥺
Hama telling Wada to breathe/they just have to clear his name, he can understand what he's going through and it's a very sweet moment
Ken jabbing at Tamba (I'm using the 'exactly what it sounds like' in regards to the 3D printer' as an example) is what I live for now
Wada yelling at Tamba is deserved
Man I'm really hating how accusatory Tamba is even though this literally happens every trial
Hama guarding Wada going to the bathroom omg he's so sweet guys I love their dynamic
Why does Hiroaki even care about the above lol
Okazaki accusing Ken of murdering Kamimura and everyone else dog piling him... knew this was coming but I hate this so much anyway
DON'T INTERRUPT KEN WHEN HE DOESN'T GET A CHANCE TO BUD IN, LIKE EVERY TRUAL
I give Okazaki the middle finger while she spurts out this stupid theory
'Stop talking like you know me! Or him, for that matter! You don't know shit about either of us!' YES KEN (and voice actor) POP OFF (especially at Okazaki lmao)
Okazaki claiming to be Ken's therapist is 💀 especially after she said she was his guide councillor which is very different...?
Body discovery announcement came in clutch LET'S GO - Wada and Ken didn't kill their besties
'The infernal energy coming out of that room was disrupting my arm's structural integrity' Hama 😂
ANXIETY ATTACK? Ken nooooo
OKAZAKI WE HAVE SELF PRESERVATION HERE PLEASE, ALOT OF THE CAST THINK BADLY OF THEMSELVES
Hiroaki being blunt about the self harm isn't exactly tactful but needed for the trial
Hama says he was bopped on the head, Okazaki replying with 'he wasn't bopped' 😂
Hama saying Okazaki being in the chemlab was a violation and her agreeing 😂
Tetro is teaching me new words like flunitrazepam (also why was Okazaki keeping an eye on it, sus)
I'm with Watari, THEY HAD CYANIDE?
I've been wondering if the killer took Kamimura's tongue as a trophy too, can we just body check the entire cast right now please? Lmao
'Finally! It was poison!' Good for you Tamba but why did it have to be so ironic that it was on Kamimura's case that he couldn't shut you down 😭
Hiroaki just admitting he was going to kill himself and replying with 'why are you looking at me like that's 😭
Means Tamba was wrong about the poison though hehe, thanks Hiroaki
Yeah Tamba had a blonde moment, I'm on Okazaki's side for this one being annoyed at her
Poor Tamba is cooked, at this rate she's definitely not surviving unless Von wanted to do the stereotypical mainline Danganronpa games survivor cast archetypes trope 😭
'How did they get into Kamimura's room?' guys we LITERALLY just mentioned the 3D printed room key 😭
Omg I'm one of the biggest Hayashigeki shippers out there BUT THIS ARGUMENT IS AWESOME! I AM THRIVING! Well written for both characters and there's been chapters worth of tension stock piled out until now that they need to work through together hehe
Why are we assuming Kamimura knew about the second key? Anyways
KEN AND KAMIMURA (wholesomely and shippingly) SLEPT TOGETHER 🥺
'Do we have a pickpocket in here?' Stares intensely at Okazaki
Wada freaking out about not solving Tsuno's case, thanks guys for solving it anyway 😭♥️
If Kamimura somehow built the trap without Ken noticing that would be messed up (I've thought about Tsuno killing Kamimura because of the fandom but not vice versa)
I really want to know if Tsuno was the intended target or not, if she wasn't it'll be even more sad
I love everyone telling Tamba to shut up, especially Mai 😭
Tamba really needs to stop gunning for Ken or Imma get mad 💀
Man all of the resentment/arguments are coming out of this trial
Yanagi you don't want the reputation of throwing off trials but we're doing it a third time, that establishes a pattern 😭
'If you don't tell me where you were last night you've lost all my trust' Mai omg that sentence went HARD
Omg Yanagi was trying to get into the locked room, please don't tell me he's going to get executed for admitting it 😭
WATARI AND HAMA ARE BECOMING FRIENDS, I actually jumped for joy when I heard Hama say he was watching Watari practice fire dancing in her room
That's very vivid description from the Hall Overlord, I do have to wonder if she just so happened to peek out at all the right times and then continue to prep for the murder
Here we go, Tamba where you at 😭😂
I proceed to be so engrossed in the trial that I have no comments, I am fully obsessed
I don't want to think Tsuno is implicated, but if there isn't a second key (which there obviously isn't) then logically it makes alot of sense for her to be involved with the pre existing alibis 😩
Gets engrossed in the trial again
Okazaki has a coat THAT'S HOW IT DIDN'T GET SEEN
WE ARE ONTO YOU OKAZAKI
We have less than 20 minutes yet PLEASEEEE ISTG THIS BE THE LAST SUSSED PERSON
'Okazaki was patrolling' Nah bitch more like moving around freely without anyone suspecting you ✨
'Can you open your coat then?' OJIMA YES
Blood in the coat
SHE'S GETTING PANICKY AND BACKED INTO A CORNER, OMG MY PRAYERS MAY BE ANSWERED
OKAZAKI IS SNAPPING!? WHAT IS KONKONKONKON
FACE REVEAL WHATTTTTTT
SHE'S BEAUTIFUL! AND HAS A PAW EARRING!? OMG THE WHOLE SUIT IS BLOODY OMG
SHE'S A COMIC BOOK VILLAIN? THE EDITING OF HER NEW SPRITE/CG MOVING OMG
SHE'S MOCKING THEM FOR BEING SLOW TO SOLVE IT!? I'm actually amused at this oml
THE MUSIC IS SO DERPY, I FEEL LIKE I'M IN UNDERTALE RN HELP
'A band of dimwits this easy to kill!' Omg why am I loving Okazaki at her killer reveal
WATARI IS SO UPSET AND RIGHTFULLY SO
The way she said Oni boy got me crushing a little bit 😳
Okazaki giving vital hints because she wanted to create an extremely interesting murder case makes a TON of sense
Gdi I was fairly confident it was Okazaki but I should have been ride or die on it lol
If she somehow ISN'T THE KILLER and reveals a truth bomb right now my jaw will drop to the floor
She's talking like Gundham Tanaka and I'm loving it
THE PHANTOM THEIF OF NAGOYA!? WAS SHE TSUNO'S GREATEST ENEMY OUTSIDE OF THE KILLING GAME TOO BECAUSE SHE'S LITERALLY THE ULTIMATE SUPERHERO? THEY'RE LITERALLY BOTH FROM THE SAME AREA
OMG I WAS RIGHT
I had headcanoned she was a crime doer outside of the killing game because of the gun ownership BUT OMG IT WAS SO OBVIOUS ALL ALONG WHY DID I NOT SEE IT
WADA IS GOING TO STAB HER AGAIN, AND KEN CAN JOIN TOO
KAMIMURA MUST HAVE SEEN HER DOING SOMETHING SUS AND HAD TO BE KILLED BECAUSE WITNESS TESTIMONY
I love Okazaki's monologue so much you don't understand
She's kinda crushing on Tsuno desperately wanting attention? Must be a small town crime doer who WANTS to Tsuno to be her rival because it's not her talent
THAT LAUGH VOICE ACTING WAS AWESOME OMG
She called Hiroaki a Dunk Ass 😭😂
WADA POP TF OFF!
Tsuno cared about Kamimura and that drew her attention... Tsuno died for love? DELUSIONAL SHIP COMING ON?
Harada inspired her by saying 'life is short' and 'Kamimura is short too!' Okazaki omg you cannot be serious 😭😂
I NEED SOMEONE TO TRANSCRIBE OKAZAKI'S MURDER CASE RECAP BECAUSE I CANNOT EVEN RIGHT NOW
'When the temperature started dropping and it was clear that someone had to die I thought hey, now is my chance to end a long and tumultuous character arc!' WOAHHHHHH 😂
Okazaki calling Kamimura a Sad Sack 😩
OKAZAKI SPRITE IN THE TRIAL ROOM
THEY CUT HER SUMMARY SHORT, JUSTICE HAS BEEN SERVED 😂😂😂
Or almost lol, loved the intermission anyway
She admitted Hasegawa is smarter than everyone which is a... compliment in a weird and twisted way?
Okazaki calling Wada a sad little loser 😭
KEN BEAT UP OKAZAKI LETS FUCKING GO
WADA WAS GONNA GO TOO AND I WAS THERE FOR IT
Omg Okazaki said Watari could have been the perfect sidekick one day
Watari said she will NEVER be like her and she HATES her this is the angst I needed omg I LOVE IT
POOR WADA, KEN AND WATARI THOUGH THEY ARE ALL EMOTIONALLY DESTROYED
Okazaki's about to get the most mid execution like Celeste because she's so outlandish
Okazaki wanted to give each individual student a goodbye? How strange and unexpected
'Nishi, in our next life, we'll be foxes okay?' 😭😭😭
'In every life after, I will follow that flame too' At least Okazaki genuinely liked Watari 😭
Midas Touch
Dr Haruka is absolutely disgusted by Okazaki's actions 😂
Torturing is quite the dubbed down word for what Okazaki did lol
Is Okazaki's name Yume? Does Dr Haruka know Okazaki?
Dr Kan was disappointed Tsuno didn't kill and Dr Haruka saying Tsuno didn't seem to be the type to crack shows how strong she was 💪
This was the most unique execution I've ever seen, I love it alot
Cheap motive? Wonder what it is
Kan put on the music at the trial? LOL
264 - Regulation Review
No don't modify the body discovery it comes in clutch THEY'LL GET THROWN OFF AND BE HEAVILY MISLEAD 😭
Monomoko was smart with turning off the cold tbh
Monomoko has got ALOT of dark splotches now oml
OKAZAKI WAS DR HARUKA'S KID? AND SHE WAS JUST UPSET WITH HOW SHE DID REGARDING THE KILLING GAME INSTEAD OF LITERALLY ANYTHING ELSE ABOUT HER *CHILD!?*
Okazaki's name is Yume... or is that a dead name maybe? Disapproving parent my god...
She's trying to get Dr Kan's child in the killing game, probs because she hates Dr Kan lol 😭
265 - Tactical Retreat
Takeshi too overwhelmed, how relatable...
He finally spaced out again 😩
266 - Apology Tour
Wonder how this cat fight will go
She's done with Yanagi? NOOOOOOOO
Mai is going on her vigilante and angsty arc
Tamba's apology is making me almost cry ngl
Mai called her Rui 🥺
267 - Grieving Process
Wada's so drained, my poor boi
Hiroaki talking to Tsuno in front of Wada will be good for both of them I think, hopefully they can bond more because of this
Wada says I love you to Tsuno again 🥺😭
HE MADE WADA NEW CLOTHES? OMG
SOFT CLOTHES FOR WADA, HIROAKI IS SO THOUGHTFUL
HUG!? YESSSSSSSS
HE WOULD ALSO GIVE WADA A HAIRCUT? WHAT WOULD IT LOOK LIKE? NEW SPRITE? OMG MAKEOVER? OMG I NEED TO SEE IT NOW
