Bill and Hayley's idea of a honeymoon period is spending their lunchtime checking to see what Dani is up to. Patiently waiting for updates on her latest misfortune. A marriage built on a foundation of being obsessed with The Duprees despite NOT being one.

This is why I gotta stay Team Dani even through her bird antics because even her opps recognize that she's the main event.

Initial Character Analysis: Dani Dupree

The fashionable and fabulous Karla Mosley stuns as Dani Dupree in the first episode of Beyond the Gates. She is firey, self assured, and entirely unable to hold her tongue (or hands for that matter!) I love her already!

We first encounter Dani in the kitchen of her mansion, all vibrant white and beautiful slate greys. She is ruminating over the mess that is her life. She sacrificed her modeling career to focus on being a good wife to her husband, Bill, and mother to daughters Naomi and Chelsea. What did Bill do to return the love displayed by Dani for their family? Had an affair with his daughter Naomi's best friend!

Girl I was shocked too! Of course Hayley is young and beautiful, but Dani isn't some from frumpy old woman! I'm not seeing the fractures in the relationship Dani would've caused, as Bill keeps mentioning. I will say, more remains to be seen.

Also in my humble opinion, Dani should consider booking an appointment with one of her sisters colleagues.

The above picture and below picture are only a few minutes apart. She is loosing her marbles.

The way that she handled Hayley, however, was fully appropriate. It's not been said that Hayley and Dani had a mother daughter relationship. But it has been said that Dani loved her like family, and made an important space for her in their lives. Hayley's betrayal has affected not only her on a deep personal level, but her children as well. It must be difficult to forgive such an aggregious unnecessary act that many times.

As far as Dani's relationship to Bill goes, I hope in the near future she realizes the truth. Bill is an untrustworthy man, and was always going to leave at some point. Because you cannot sustain a long term relationship with an untrustworthy person. As well as the fact that I believe Bill is deliberately cruel. He seems to get a thrill from hurting Dani. I believe in the end, both women will realize he isn't worth the trouble. I hope Dani realizes first, though.

I love when they give her anything to say. Dani, as written, would drive me crazy if it weren't for the fact that KM is brilliant and adorable beyond measure.

I absolutely love when they give Dani melodramatic phrases to say. Has Karla Mosley been in a Shakespeare production? I would like to see it

Beyond the Gates Recap: Week 1

Week 1 of my new favorite show was a wonderful introduction! From the moment Nicole pulled her car up to those gates, I knew we were in for a treat! I really enjoyed that opening scene; I've repeated it several times.

First thing I came to understand about this show; this is a "show-don't-tell" production. This philosophy totally applies to sets and character wardrobe. So far,my award for best dressed is going to Chelsea. Cue the fashion show!

Typically a lot of viewers complain during the first few episodes of a new show. As they are introduced to characters by means that aren't always appealing. While there was some exposition, but it ended quickly enough that I wasn't bothered.

After the show emphasizes to us the wealth of the Duprees, then they show their power. Ad said by hot-shot realtor Vanessa McBride to Dani Dupree "your family rules this community. Your grandfather built it." There is no family more important in Fairmout Crest, than the Duprees.

I enjoy the Dupree's familiarity with the town they rule over. They have personal relationships with many staff and neighbors. Let's kick things off!

In episode one, we meet most of the main cast. We also find out a large part of the reason we are all gathered here today; to watch the unraveling of Dani Dupree. We discover from Vanessa McBride (Fairmount Crest's highest paid realator) that Dani's cheating ex and child bride have just purchased a home in the area. In addition, they plan to marry amongst the community, at Dani's family's country club no less!

Dani is pissed (rightfully so) and ready to start a fire!

" I am Done being disrespected!" Dani declares as the child bride (Hayley) enters the country club. And she grants her a wonderful welcome to the communtiy!

That flashback scene with Bill and Dani was foul. What do you mean you admitted she gave everything up for you and basically reaffirmed your vows before cheating!!! He should've been shot.

Bill how are you gonna force the dupree's to be at the wedding then when shit hits the fan be like Dani always wants attention?? You started this?! Hailey you married a manipulator.

The Andre and Ashley love storyline: funny, tension filled, has potential

The Andre and Dani love storyline: it's incest, like technically not but it's too close for me. The family connection does mean they can be more open about issues, since secrets stay in the family.
