DANNY PROPAGANDA- Wears a shirt at the water park, afraid his parents won’t accept him (for being half ghost but the metaphor stands). Wears a shirt swimming, is told he “doesn’t qualify” for the men’s room. When a wish granting ghost asks if he has any wishes she goes to touch his chest and he freaks out, has a ghost transformation he’s scared to tell his parents about because he’s scared they might attack or hurt him. He fought his evil future alternate self. He has a biological clone who's younger than him and a girl. [Pollrunner's Note: Was mentioned by name in OTHER submissions as a baseline for "the fandom decided he was trans"] Remember: fuck B*tch Hartman DEVO PROPAGANDA- OKAY SO his backstory is that he was raised by a religious cult from the ages of 6-23, and he only recently left. His arc is about trying to find his own identity away from the church. Devo la Main is his chosen name, the church leaders call him the Hand of Devotion and he always insists on them calling him Devo (literal deadname!!) The only other Hands of the church we meet are female, which may not be intentional but you could absolutely read into that. Part of him finding his own identity involves him figuring out how to dress himself now, which is mostly played for laughs (he becomes a brand ambassador for a shady merchant and plugs the store at inconvenient times) but also feels pretty trans to me.

Paul Reubens, Pee-wee Herman Creator and Alter Ego, Dead at 70

- “He inspired millions of others to not take life so seriously,” Stephen Bishop says

Paul Reubens, the actor best known as Pee-wee Herman’s creator and alter ego, died July 30 of cancer.

“Paul bravely and privately fought cancer for years with his trademark tenacity and wit,” read a statement.

“A gifted and prolific talent, he will forever live in the comedy pantheon and in our hearts as a treasured friend and man of remarkable character and generosity of spirit.”

“Pee-wee’s Playhouse,” the children’s show adults loved to love, ran for five seasons, featured music by Mark Mothersbaugh, Todd Rundgren, Danny Elfman, Van Dyke Parks, Dweezil Zappa and others and was spun off into two films.

“Fly on to your next big adventure, Paul Reubens,” the B-52’s Kate Pierson said. “You dear, sweet, funny, fabulous friend - we will miss you so.”

The Muppets “absolutely loved” Reubens and his “iconic” character, the also made-for-kids-loved-by-grown-ups characters said on social media.

“He brought a burst of joy, creativity and laughter everywhere he went.”

Herman was 70. In a statement issued with the announcement of his death, Reubens apologized “for not going public with what I’ve been facing the last six years” and told fans, “I have loved you all so much and enjoyed making art for you.”

“Cancer sucks,” an “absolutely devastated” Stephen Bishop said upon learning of Reubens’ death.

“I’m grateful for our friendship and how he inspired millions of others to not take life so seriously,” Bishop said.
