Time and Space. One could not exist without the other. Two brothers, born of the universe’s existence at the same time. Neither more powerful than the other, but both with different skill sets. The two watched over the universe for millennia without issue.
Then came the Observants.
Beings nearly as old as Time and Space themselves. Except they were arrogant and prideful. They believed that Time and Space should not watch because it was their job. Their job to Observe, but never intervene. But Time and Space did not listen. They knew for the good of all reality, sometimes you had to intervene. This led to the first skirmish between Time, Space and the Observants.
Things only continued to get worse over the next few thousand years. The relationship between Time and Space strengthened in their resolve against the Observants. The Observants were clever, though, and knew they couldn’t defeat the brothers alone. So they plotted, and waited for the perfect opportunity.
Time was clever while Space was cunning. Together, they were unstoppable. Apart, they were vulnerable. The Observants took this opportunity and struck down Space. But Time was clever. He knew this would happen from the beginning, but he also knew that this was meant to happen. In all timelines, Space would be struck down.
But Time could not exist without Space. The Observants thought they knew all, but they knew nothing. In the chaos, Time saved his brother and hid him inside of the timeline and waited for the day he would be reborn. The day that his brother would come back from the dead, risen anew and much, much more powerful than he was before.
For now, all Clockwork could do was watch Danny Fenton and guide his brother towards his destiny.

tl;dr The Danny Phantom fandom is just obsessed with Found Family and I FALL FOR IT EVERY TIME
Hear me out, people, hear me out......
FRAIDS.
that's it that's the post.
jk jk that is absolutely not the post, because I have SO MANY THOUGHTS ABOUT FRAIDS. Danny Phantom lore at it's FINEST.
Strap in folks, it's about time for another (weirdly long??) DP word blast!
Now this could be the "found family trope" lover in me, but I freaking love the possibilities that exist when it comes to the concept of a ghost fraid. What I've read in fics is just *chef's kiss*. We have the mental links, the ectoplasm based threads that bind everyone together, the found family idea of course, and pleeeeenty of angst potential. But I wanna talk about the nitty gritty details.
What is a Fraid, if not a subconsciously and artificially created link based on a ghost's heightened feelings of attachment, or ownership? Bear with me, I can explain; we'll use Danny and his Fraid as an example here. Typically, when introducing the idea that Danny is connected to his friends and Jazz and Dani via the concept of a "Fraid", fic authors use the image of threads created with ectoplasm to tell the reader that the group is connected together on a higher level. These threads are often a result of Danny unknowingly marking his people as his, and thereby telling the ghost world that messing with these people means messing with Phantom himself. To me, this sounds a lot like Danny is essentially layering his own ectoplasm onto his group so frequently, intensely, and even intently (despite his continued ignorance to what his ghostly side is doing), that his resulting Fraid essentially becomes a part of himself. The ectoplasmic threads are then a physical manifestation of Danny's ectoplasm as it exists in his friends.
But if this is the case, could a Fraid ever be created intentionally?
Let's lay out the apparent requirements to create a Fraid, based on the proposed example above. I'm postulating that, to create a Fraid, the ghost needs to 1) spend a sizable portion of time around the future fraid members, 2) feel strong feelings of possession, protection, obligation, or what have you, 3) maintain a large amount of affection for their persisted presence, and 4) feel safe enough around them to allow their ectoplasm to manifest like an aura, rather than keep it tightly inside and controlled. In Danny's case, all of these conditions are met by Sam, Tucker, Jazz, and Dani, and they are typically the ones you see being placed in Danny's Fraid. His parents aren't on that list, as they fail to meet condition 4, and possibly even condition 3 (which is not to say Danny doesn't feel affection towards his parents. He definitely loves them, but does he love them consistently, constantly, and in the same way as he does his friends?). While Danny is constantly choosing his friends (he chooses them day in, day out, after Sam convinces him to walk to his death, after Tucker makes a decision out of intense jealousy, after Dani hunts him, Danny is still choosing them), he isn't constantly choosing how he feels in their presence. That would be hard for anyone to do, let alone creatures whose entire being revolves around their emotional volatility. The idea of intentionally creating a Fraid is ruled out, based on the idea that, even for beings that run off emotional cognizance, feelings as vulnerable as those required for the process are difficult to create and maintain consciously.
Now how does Fraid creation actually work?
The way I've described it above, I'm going to claim that a Fraid is essentially the ghost version of a horcrux. Instead of the soul going into an object, the ghost is exposing other ghosts (or people, in Danny's case) to intense amounts of their ectoplasm (which could be argued to be their soul given form, I guess?) and the ectoplasm is then settling inside the other party, being absorbed into their core, or skin, and cementing that individual as a part of the ghost creating the Fraid. Since this kind of ectoplasm is primarily that of the ghost, it will invariably have ties to the emotions that ghost is experiencing, hence the idea mentioned above that there needs to be a prolonged feeling of relaxation and safety about the creatures in the pre-formed Fraid. This being the case, I like to think about how Fraids might function when they're made of other ghosts too, and whether or not those secondary ghosts can basically form a layer of Fraids (like one web of ectoplasm built on another web and on another etc with different ghosts being the center point....does that make sense?). Would a Fraid with mostly ghosts develop it's own impression of a core? Is there a threshold of ectoplasm needed to develop a power level in this case? That's some juicy theory building right there.
When Danny's Fraid comes onto the scene, it gets a bit wonky.
Most of the time, his Fraid is made up of two (or three if you're counting Dan) ghosts and three (sometimes liminal sometimes not) humans, and there's almost of bit of a power imbalance. I would say that both Danny and Dani end up establishing this group of people as their individual Fraids, but how do the three humans influence the ectoplasm connection? And how does the fact that Danny and Dani virtually share an ectoplasm signature influence it? (this isn't to say that they share a core or are the same people, I am a firm lover of ice core danny and water core dani, but Dani is a clone and a product of Danny's ectoplasm....do you think they have the same signature, or would Dani develop her own signature?)
Connecting this to my first question above (is a Fraid a product of a ghost's feelings of "ownership" or "possession"): if you like your humans liminal like I do, I'm going to take a chance and say that Sam, Tucker, and Jazz have developed juuuust enough of a ghost core or an ecto signature for the Fraid threads to stick to them, and that ghosts probably wouldn't be able to draw regular, non-liminal humans into their Fraid unbeknownst to them. Due to this, I believe the humans would be able to reflect the ectoplasm back to Danny, creating a stable loop that allows for the continuance of the Fraid connection. I don't necessarily think this alone would allow for a strong connection - they're human, however liminal they might be, and liminal humans don't have the same ectoplasm reserves as a ghost, nor do they have the amount of "soul-like" ectoplasm needed to cement themselves inside the other parties like Danny could ( remember the horcrux analogy?). But! But but but! If Danny and Dani share an ectoplasm signature, and a Fraid is essentially an emotional feedback loop given substance, then you have two times the ectoplasm signature being run through and reflected back to each of the Fraid members, essentially....eliminating the original weakness of their connection?? And therefore you end up with a fully formed and healthy Fraid system?? I think that's pretty neat, right?
Idk dude, is this too long? Is there a limit to how much I can talk about this? I don't think there is.
for the sake of digestibility I'm going to DEFINITELY be writing a part 2 for this!!
But think about these questions in the meantime, if you want:
Would a ghost that isn't the Fraid's formation point be able to reject or leave the Fraid system? How?
What would happen to the Fraid "head" so to speak, if their Fraid threads were severed or rejected, based on the theory that it's essentially a part of themselves implanted in another creature?
Are potential Fraid members aware of what's happening when a Fraid is in its preliminary stages?
Could Fraids be rare?
Am I projecting my feelings of isolation onto a cool kid's show?? Who knows! I feel a fanfic idea coming tho....
Part 2 coming soon!

Danny Phantom's Series Bible
So I was recently reading Danny Phantom's Series Bible via ForeverPhantom's reblog (thank you, hannahmanderr, for originally posting it) and there's some really interesting facts and tidbits I came across. As is said b4, Danny was conceived of as having been called Phantom long before The Accident™, it was a nickname given to him by Sam and Tucker, a dig(?) on how his' being shy, timid saw him become, for lack of a better word, socially undetectable, invisible.
But only a few people know that Danny Phantom is actually Danny Fenton, the shy, average, quiet kid that sat in the back and tried to stay out of trouble. Because of his skittishness and shyness, his friends Tucker and Samantha started calling him “Danny Phantom”. They didn’t mean it to be hurtful… it was all in good fun. And after the accident, it didn’t bother him anymore. Because it ended up being more accurate than even they could have believed.
It also makes it seem that as a human/ghost hybrid Danny (in addition to all of the standard array of abilities specters have, to fly, to shed their solid forms and become intangible, etc) is indeed possessed of the ability to straight up, like, make portals/teleport(?), a la how Vlad in-canon can apparently do, and so cross in-between the realms at will. To be fair, that could just be a case of me reading too much into it, but the exact wording is as follows, that,
Danny received his powers through a scientific experiment gone awry... the dimensional barrier was damaged and Danny - who wasn’t even supposed to be in the lab at the time - was caught in the middle, and essentially trapped between the two worlds. The lab and the experiment were both badly damaged in the process… but Danny wasn’t. He was left with the amazing powers, and the ability to “crossover” from one world to the next at will.
What Do the Fentons Do? What Are Their A c t u a l J o b s?
The Bible works also to answer the question that's been nagging the Phandon for years, i.e., Exactly WTF are the Fentons' occupation? It states that Maddie operates as a theoretical physicist (her real name being Madison and not Madeline, apparently), with Jack in comparison being something of an adrenaline junkie and so working as a military test-pilot, his suit indeed being that of a test pilot, a crash dummy, I.e., his work uniform. Hell, it seems Jack being a test-pilot made it into the series canon, if the Danny Phantom Style Guide is anything to go by. It defines the family company specifically, FentonWorks, as a think-tank/research type company that consults when people are having problems with the paranormal.
#the Bible also works to confirm that other supernatural entities other than ghosts exist#it doesn't specify exactly as to what creatures but it says so like at least thrice#so for any one writer in the Phandom who includes like werewolves and shit in their fics#don't feel bad or anything that you're going outside the line of canon you're good#danny phantom#danny phantom headcanon#Danny Phantom lore#phandom lore

Wait, wait, wait. But like, Danny's core is a (very little) bit more developed than his friends's right? So like, maybe Danny's toddler age and they are baby aged? Have you ever seen a toddler trying to "defend" their baby siblings???? And like maybe the other ghosts can tell Danny is still also a "kid" after interacting with him more? Or at least that he's not a fully grown adult yet? Which leads to things like-
Adult Ghost Rogue "invading" Amity Park: "You will never defeat me! This small city will become my new domain!"
Danny is scowling and standing as tall as his scrawny self can manage in front of Sam and Tucker who are both glaring with "toy" guns in their hands: "Not if I have anything to say about it!"
Adult Ghost Rogue is now internally squeeing over how adorable these babies are. So serious! So vicious! They are so cute! 😍
This also puts both the Pariah Dark and Disasteroid (I'm pretending no reveal occurred & that the world's governments didn't assist with cables and stuff but that the asteroid itself still came and the Ghosts all worked together to turn everything intangible) incidents into a different perspective. Of course the kids's "villians" helped the babies protect their haunt! It's their First Haunt! Practically their crib! The babies might not have a real adult claiming them but no way were their babysitters/playmates going to abandon them while their playroom got wrecked!
Danny, Sam, and Tucker never suspect anything.
Danny may be a Ghost Baby who feels like an Anicent, but his friends don't.
SO, we all know the Ghost Baby Headcanon by now right? The idea that Danny is literally a Toddler by Ghost Standards, but because of how powerful he is everybody else believes that he is an Ancient or a God who is hogging the Mortal World to himself.
But what about his friends?
They were right there when the Portal opened. No Hazmat Suits, no Cover, no Protection from the Dimension of Pure Energy that had just been opened right in front of them.
That has to have some kind of Side Effects!
And actually, we do know of a Character who was just standing in front of a Portal when it opened and still got affected by it. Vlad.
While Danny was turned into a Halfa instantly, his friends would be more similar to Vlad in that they are slow to transform.
It takes weeks, but eventually they become mini-halfas themselves. Except they didn't have an entire Dimension of energy pushed into them upon fully forming, so their Ecto-Signatures actually feel like the babies they are supposed to be.
So imagine this from the Ghosts perspective.
They meet this guy called Phantom, a Halfa who is Extremely Powerful, but nobody has seen him in centuries. He was known as a very powerful Protector Spirit for millennia, randomly showing up across history, but always helping others. And then he just vanished one day, not seen again for centuries.
Until recently, when he showed in the Mortal World, stopping any other Ghost from fulfilling their Obsessions with Humans. And by his side are 2 smaller Halfa's that feel like they must have barely formed. You can see where this is going.
They think Sam and Tucker are Danny's children.
It makes sense! A Powerful Ancient, known for protecting people, suddenly disappears for centuries and then shows up again with 2 baby Halfa's in tow? That sounds like a Protector Spirit who lost his will to fight, decided to settled down in the Mortal Realm, and then found out that 2 baby Halfa's were formed when a Portal was opened!
He isn't selfishly holding the Mortal Realm to himself! He's protecting the Fledgling Haunt of his 2 Babies! They must still have living Family, that's why he is so adamant that they don't hurt the Civilains in their battles!
Now they just feel like assholes for attacking the Baby's dad when he was just trying to protect their stuff.
Danny finds this both extremely infuriating, and also agonizingly hilarious.

Someone help a fella out, here ...
Where did all this Danny Phantom lore come from? A lot apparently developed in the last decade and change since the show went off air. And I am so fucking lost.

I sometimes just imagine the first time Phantom is introduced to the league as like, a fellow big league hero. As someone who works with Justice League Dark and took down the Ecto Acts with his own team and allies to be included under the meta acts like aliens. He knows Constantine and Zatanna and is a pretty common name in the magical community now even if usually as his human form "just Danny".
And suddenly he is surrounded by these "big time heroes" and aliens and champions and most would assume he'd be overwhelmed or in awe. Maybe nervous, or weirdly fixated on being in space.
But here's the kicker- Danny is dead. Technically part of the category ecto-entity, ghost, and thus belonging to the Infinite Realms. He has met a vast variety of characters who are far more chaotic and legendary than these people who have so much interpersonal drama it looks like one of the soap operas Tucker refuses to admit he watches. Wonder Woman? Danny has lunch with Pandora and visits the Greek sections of the realms when he needs to research old prophecies. Superman? Kryptonite is like rock candy and the dead of Krypton are either very sweet or very condescending and Danny has seen both in the Boy Scout. The less said about the Green Lanterns the better. The Flash family are entertaining but also headache inducing because Danny has heard the complaints about the timeline. Half a dozen other heroes and vigilantes have their own dramas that Danny could pick apart at the source for the many issues that started said drama, and that's not even beginning on the issues with Batman and the weird galley of children he has who are sometimes even worse than the dark knight himself.
Meanwhile the League find themselves growing more concerned and horrified the more Phantom manages to reference his adventures and rather stressful start as a vigilante. Constantine hasn't been more entertained in years.
#dpxdc#fic ideas#danny phantom#dc comics#a what if danny met the justice league after being a well settled hero#honestly phantom doesnt do much outside the realms anymore its just danny bopping around#he specializes in biochem and engineering but also the ✨️ occult ✨️#but danny drops such feral lore that a lot of the league is worried and batfam are this close to adoption#meanwhile jl dark have been dealing with danny for years and enjoy laughing at them all#as much as this started as a danny is unimpressed by the league#it swiftly turned into a “the league is traumatized by danny”

to anyone interested, i’m adding some universe lore to the fic and posted the first bit of it today. once i’m done with that, i’ll share bits of what i’m working on for the first few chapters!
i may or may not be planning a fic where one of the many subplots is that Jason (as Red Hood, but Danny already knows) is following/investigating Danny because he thinks Danny’s dangerous somehow. I won’t go into the details because it’s so much, but point is i have a silly little scene in my head wherein Danny goes out to work on a uni group project with Tim, and on their way to the cafe some asshole car hits a guy on a motorcycle. The Biker goes into a rage and starts cursing him out, takes off his helmet and lo and behold it’s Jason.
Mid-verbal fight with the asshole he catches sight of Tim (recording the whole thing and waving at Jason) and of Danny (potential danger he’s been investigating for nearly two weeks), and Jason gives the asshole a “this isn’t over” threat and dips. Then,
Tim, who noticed Danny’s reaction: You know that guy?
Danny: Oh, yeah, that’s my stalker. You?
Tim: Nemesis. I’m sorry he’s your what?
Bonus:
Tim texting Jason: are you stalking my classmate??
Jason: Mind your own business, Replacement.
Jason: Wait, did he tell you that?
Tim: yah
Jason: RH’s been investigating him. Why the FUCK does your “classmate” think it’s me?
Tim: dick is gonna love this. the great rh has a containment breach
Jason: DON’T YOU FUCKING DARE TELL HIM REPLACEMENT
Tim: LMAO fuck it we BALL
Jason: TIM

Bruce: Listen up. I've been contacted for an emergency foster placement. It's for a pair of siblings found by Batman a few hours ago, and I need everyone to act like they were randomly woken up at two am. How fast can everyone get to the manor?
Barbara: Everyone should be back within ten minutes. What's the foster placement story?
Bruce: A meta child was kidnapped from his home. His sister managed to trail them over the Stateline and set the house he was being kept in on fire. I stopped her from hurting anyone, but when Child Protective Services arrived, they were attempting to separate the teens due to her "unstable" reaction. I was able to convince them to give her to Bruce Wayne, who's trained for such placements.
Tim: Is she dangerous?
Bruce: No, I think she was just desperate.
Damian: What are the Meta's powers?
Bruce: Flight, invisibility, and intangible. I believe he has more, but I need to test him for it. It's still up for debate if he isn't half Martian.
Dick: Is there anything else we should be prepared for when they arrived?
Bruce: Yes, the siblings are in some kind of cult. They kept chanting "Going Ghost" when they were attacked.
Duke: That's the chat for the Phantom cult
Cass: How do you know that?
Duke: I had a life before the We are Robin movement. Phantom cult started out in Amity Park but spilled into major cities after it was posted online. I was pretty high-ranking for the Gotham sector.
Dick: ......are you still in the cult?
Duke: Nah, after Phantom vanished, it turned more into a group of people gossiping about how hot he was. I was in it for the cult stuff, not the harem stuff.
Bruce: .....I'm going to have to focus on the fast approaching traumatized children but I will be speaking to you about that Duke.
Duke: Okay, but I took a blood oath to not share our ceremonies. I will pass along some of the fanfiction. There was a lot of it focused on steamy smut, but the plots were immaculate.
Jason: Can you all disconnect me from this call? I don't even live at the manor anymore.

tl;dr possibilities for the culture of the Ghost Zone regarding age! I got inspired by @sinorim-pisani and decided to take a shot at this whole lore exploration! I AM USING MARIE KONDO STANDARDS: IF CANON DOES NOT SPARK JOY, I THROW IT OUT! In the show, Phantom is often called "ghost child". That makes sense! From their perspective, Phantom is just a couple of months "old" since he died so recently and so many of the denizens of the Realms are centuries old. Danny is barely a baby! But then I got to thinking: what if there are perceivable differences in the way young ghosts and old/"adult" ghosts are treated?
I was always a little confused as to why ghosts acted so alive within the show, doing things like blinking and breathing. And then a possible explanation/headcanon/lore hit me! Ghosts *don't* do that usually, they do that only around baby ghosts! When you're freshly dead, you're still settling into your ghostlyness. Even with some instinctual understanding of the rules of the Realms, you still have to deal with the implications that you're not alive anymore. You still have some lingering instincts that living people have, like being freaked out when someone doesn't blink or doesn't breathe. So, older ghosts will make an effort to appear more alive for your comfort. One of those things is moving your eyes/head to face whatever you're looking at. (In my hc, ghost's eyes are just ornamental. Everything they perceive they do through sensing ectoplasm around them and the cores of other ghosts.)
Obviously, it takes effort to do things like keep a consistent breathing rhythm, so aa ghost "grows up" they will slowly stop doing those things. You can tell you've become an adult when ghosts stop opening their mouths to talk to you when using ghost-speak.
#danny phantom#danny phantom lore#danny fenton#the fentons#danny phantom fanfiction#danny phantom headcanons#worldbuilding#the brainrot has taken over my everything#seriously how interesting would it be for all ghosts in the show to be intentionally acting more human for danny's benefit?#ghosts will eventually have spent more time dead than alive#why would you keep the habit of blinking after all that time?#Why would you bother breathing in before speaking?

I just had a DPxDC crossover idea that I thought was funny.
What if every time John Constantine sold his soul he was basically agreeing to being “adopted” by the entity he was selling his soul to.
He thinks all of the entities he sold his soul to are leaving him alone because they’re too busy fighting/have a truce to not fight as long as none of them claim his soul, meanwhile he’s got like a dozen or so ghost/demon parents ready to go to court to fight for custody when he finally dies.
Danny, having been taken in as a ward by an older ghost since he technically counts as a baby ghost until he’s 100 or something, meets Constantine for the first time and is like: “Why are you 1/15th my brother?”
Bonus points if Danny is technically the big brother in ghost terms because he’s been a ghost the longest. Sure Constantine may be a little liminal but that doesn’t count he doesn’t even have a death day yet.
Like:
Danny (Certified little shit): “Baby brother why do you never come to dinner? :(”
Constantine, too sober for this: “The fuck did you just call me?”
Constantine vehemently denies any relation but they bicker like siblings.
#dc x dp#crack#john constantine#danny phantom#some ghost lore I just made up for fun cause I thought it was funny#John Constantine has a storm coming and he doesn’t even know#he’s got like 15 ghostly parents (and counting)#1/15th the same way someone with one different parent is your half brother#AU I guess?#let’s just call it#Custody battle for the ages AU

New Fan Acquired
I’ve been watching Danny Phantom and I get it. I get it now.
This show loves to make some offhanded comment, not a hint of consideration or concern in its tone, and just moves on without addressing it like that wasn’t the most creatively horrific concept this side of Nickelodeon. Shit makes up wackass lore on the spot and then disregards it immediately after, asks fascinating questions then looks at you funny when you try to answer them.
I now fully understand how this show has legions of fans dedicated to taking this somewhat mid cartoon and running so far with the implications of the premise they created an entirely different show that’s so much more interesting I’m upset it’s not real.

tl;dr Linguistic anthropology except it's about Danny Phantom???
Wake up, new danny phantom obsession just dropped ya'll:
It's time to talk about GHOST LANGUAGE!!
But not the canonical Esperanto, which is a cool and interesting decision on the show's part.
I mean the idea that the ghosts have an entirely new form of communicating that sounds like static and space and ice and fire and everything a creature can feel, all condensed into what is essentially a massive creole language!
I'm a huge fan of authors who, when describing non-esperanto based "ghost speak", choose to take a more eldritch noise approach. Danny, for instance, when using the language of the ghosts, is often said to sound like all the noise of a wintery atmosphere; words like frost, ice, static, tingle, sharp, quiet and cold are employed to connect Danny's speech with his ghost core qualities. It is a fantastic way to bring an eerie and disquieting sense to Danny, and to indicate to us readers that ghosts have a unique and deeply ingrained method of communication beyond the use of human tongues.
To read way too much into something so little, I think that this could indicate that ghosts communicate with their cores! (I know, you're like Sinorim are we back to the ghost cores??) YES, we are back to how interesting ghost cores are!!
Big Question #1: If every creature-turned-ghost that spoke some form of human tongue throughout ANY period in human history, ended up in the Infinite Realms, how would they best be able to communicate?
In Danny Phantom, what makes a ghost a ghost (beyond the whole being dead thing) is their core, and their Obsession, which can be said to be an emotionally charged motivation that stems from strong emotional stimuli during life. Ghosts are creatures of feeling, of sentiment and emotion and memory, and all of those both factor into and stem out of a ghostly core. So to make a couple leaps: if a ghost could not communicate with a human tongue to its neighbor (who would be unable to understand the words), but they both have that commonality of a core and therefore a heightened sense of emotional minutiae, I would say logically the ghosts would then begin to develop a "language" based on feeling and sense. Multiply that effect by.....infinity, tack on a couple millennia, and you end up with a ghostly wordless creole language.
Big Question #2: Since a ghost's core, and subsequently their emotional cognizance and memory, is pretty much like a human fingerprint (individual and quite distinct), how would their language output be affected, and how would others actually be able to comprehend it?
This one is as easy as the difference between po-tay-to and po-tah-to, to-may-to and to-mah-to! What?? But that's just a joke, you say?? While it is a silly set of phrases, it also really concisely demonstrates the vast diversity of pronunciation, and is basically the reason why an international phonetic alphabet exists. Between pronunciation, accents, and the development of linguistic dialects, I think I can say that, at least on the comprehension side, a universal understanding of the Big Emotional Sentiments would have developed over time.
The interesting part lies in the idiosyncrasies of memory. A little side discussion - Danny has an ice core. Why? No idea! but I'm hazarding a guess that it may have something to do with his MEMORY and the emotions he felt when he died. Perhaps he felt the cold metal of the portal walls against him, perhaps the shock itself reminded him of the numbness associated with freezing temperatures or frostbite, maybe he felt a wintery sort of loneliness (it makes sense I swear), and all of that contributed to his development of an ice core. I can use Vlad as an example too, but I'll save that for another time.
So when Danny uses the Language of the Ghosts, he is understood by other ghosts because of a collective awareness of emotional sentiments. However, because of his ice core, which was determined by his individual emotional cognizance and henceforth informs his development, his form of ghost language will always be touched by his memory of the cold. When other ghosts hear Danny in their language, they'll not only understand what he is communicating, but they'll also be able to understand who Danny is, from the little touches of his cold memory that are infused in his communicating, once again thanks to his ice-based ghostly core.
And when humans hear it, they get super bad vibes because they can't understand the sounds and memories and feelings that the ghosts trying to broadcast to them!
I'm imagining poor Danny first learning he could speak the language, and then trying to show it off with his friends and being sad that it freaks them out when all he was trying to say was "You guys are the best" T.T
Good god this turned into an entire essay.
Does any of this even make sense?
Ultimately I just think that it's super cool that authors make Danny sound like the wintery freaky eldritch creature that he could be when he's speaking to ghosts XD
To be continued!

It's funny to me that there are multiple forms of mind control in Danny Phantom and the implications are literally never explored

danny phantom cast explorations and thoughts :v
#🧻 sharts#danny phantom#danny fenton#jazz fenton#danielle phantom#sam manson#tucker foley#i have like. other sketches of other cast members hidden away. maybe ill finish them up but#for now heres my thoughts on the cast! at least how i would do it#i never understood danielle being 12 when danny is 14. MAKE THEM IDENTICAL!!!!! RAAAAH#i have a lot of thoughts about danielle and non of them are canon compliant#i may just be rewriting the lore sorry#danny phantom is like r*wby to me#in which i rewrite the things i dont like#i will say a lot of the things im applying to the halfa’s is from an oc of mine#because i like the concepts and find them fitting#its not stealing if its from myself. its recycling#i think the one thing that keeps kicking me in the ass is danny's suit. its a hazmat suit but its vacuum sealed HAHA#i love both vibes of him in a tight superhero suit and him in a loose hazmat lookin suit with a mask or smth. for the creep factor#idk im figuring out how i would do the phantom alter ego. ywlma has me obsessed w it being elderich and scary though#wow. so many tags! LOL SORRY#guess ill die (danphantom)
