I’m watching pride and prejudice for the first time and as I saw Mr. Darcy I felt as if I had seen him before. After long watching and careful consideration, I had a sudden thought and I knew where I had seen such an unpleased frown mixed with such challenged emotions before : Miles Edgeworth, prosecutor of the Ace Attorney franchise.

It fits so perfect. In Phoenix we find the strong willed and free spirited protagonist that is Elizabeth Bennet. Thus I must insist on a Pride and Prejudice AU of Ace Attorney.

As such it all begins with Pride and Prejudice, doesn’t it?

Imagine studying at the same college with Mhin

modern AU

⟢ Coming across each other only during breaks because you both study at different faculties. Mhin once thought about transferring into your group, and they would gladly do that but unfortunately your professions differ drastically. 

⟢ Noticing each other from far corners of the hall and nodding; some kind of succinct gesture, bearing the meaning of mutual greeting and silent way of conveying “sure, we are tired but fuck it, we ball”. 

⟢ Marking the way their frown and discontent on their face is gradually replaced by a soft smile as they approach you. 

⟢ Quickly reaching the nearest coffee shop during said breaks, but only for your sake. Mhin is not a big fan of take-outs, but they won’t cease the opportunity to spare you a moment while waiting for your order and briefly talking about everything that happened over the period of your short “parting”, caused by curriculum and different class/lecture-rooms. 

⟢ Suggesting that you both take aesthetically pleasing notes to add some colours to your routine; writing out ornate letters with brush pens, decorating pages with cute stickers and vivid patterns. But failing the attempt as Mhin prefers comfort and practicality (the most they can do is using pens of different colours and highlighting topics from time to time). They are convinced that all this ✨study aesthetic✨ doesn’t suit them at all and there are two reasons why – firstly, the nature of their specialisation, and secondly, the insane amount of shortened words and strikethroughs in their notes (also add here the margins of their notebooks filled with neurotic scribbles, little crosses that are outlined numerous times, doodles and tiny rough sketches). As they say, usage of cute stationery won’t help them at all, let alone enhancing their notes. “It will eventually cause even more mess”. 

⟢ Constantly checking each other’s class schedule and receiving messages from them like “are you done yet”, “where are you”, “should i wait for you” as well sending those to them yourself (but knowing that you’ll both wait until one of you finishes classes no matter how long it takes). 

⟢ Hastily walking under streetlights, barely hearing each other over the noise of the street and crowd, and agreeing on “these people are so weird and stupid, thanks god we are normal”. Listening to their complaints and subconsciously adorning the way snow flickers on their silver hair, bleached strands sticking out from the hood. And how amusing are their attempts to hide themselves from biting cold when they bury their lips and nose in the collar of their jacket. 

⟢ Standing in a crowded bus and exchanging meaningful looks with them, discussing the environment solely with glances – driver’s rudeness, someone’s pungent cologne, a deliberately loud conversation, contents of a stranger’s phone—“damn, we shouldn’t have looked at his screen, gross!” 

⟢ Helping each other with homework by mere presence; finishing your own tasks while lying on their bed and listening to the rustle of pages as Mhin sits at the desk and thoughtfully writes something. Heavy darkness of a late evening changes the bluish hues, and radiance from a table lamp, blanketing Mhin’s silhouette and reflecting in the window, feels undeniably warm and cozy. 

⟢ Getting advice from them on how to cope with exam stress along with a list of light herbal sedatives which can help in dealing with anxiety. Definitely will explain their effects in detail and respond to your “professional deformation, huh?” with a sarcastic chuckle.  

⟢ Trying to get to know them better; it is genuinely hard to lure anything out of them—though if you listen to them carefully, you may effortlessly catch some trivias about them or their interests. So in brief moments of silence—or when they read something attentively on the laptop, biting their lips—you look around their room and its sparse decor. Remember, Mhin advocates for practicality, it’s only natural that their books are placed in perfect order on the table and shelves, no posters on the walls (if you don’t count prints from anatomical atlases as ones), and there is a cute cat-shaped lamp on their nightstand, illuminating soft glow. 

⟢ Accepting their offer to walk you home when it gets too late and dark. Hugging them goodbye when you get to your place and watching them till they disappear into the darkness of the winter night. Tomorrow awaits another day and new attempts to get closer to this whimsical lil’ fella, who is seemingly the only one worth knowing in the asylum you have to call your college.

good morning thinking about the way dream loves and how he describes his friendships in an almost romantic manner and how that is very special to me

i love how while he can make comparisons to "traditional dynamics", brother, father, etc. he also doesn't shy away from using descriptors that i think most would interpret as romantic.

i feel like most people would hear the phrases "more than a friend", "-you've been my partner ever since", "you have a place in my heart" and even dream consistently referring to sapnap and george as his "soulmates" would have someone assume it's about a significant other without context. dream using such romantic terms for his friendships is very special and almost inspirational to me in a way?

it just makes me think about how he views his own sexuality and even marriage, idk something about how it's not about the label or tradition or what is commonly accepted, but about the relationship itself, how you personally view it, and what it means to you is something that resonates a lot with me

I’ve gotta admit as much as I know Darabella is a flawed ship (and some of the ppl who are anti for it have legit criticisms I love y’all for pointing it out cause it frustrates the hell out of me too trust) they’ll always just kind of be it for me.

Because as much as it was an “I can fix him” trope, as much as Rosabella could be selfish and Daring’s flaws got cranked up to 1000, she was also the first person to look at him after his destiny, the thing he dedicated his life to, failed, when people were questioning him as a prince and putting pressure on his and Apple’s relationship and tell him that, like, maybe it would be alright? Maybe this wasn’t his destiny, and maybe that was okay.

And the part that really gets me? She’s the first person after this happens to tell him that it doesn’t matter what’s on the outside, which as much as you can like other Daring ships or him whatever he desperately needed to hear. Not even cause he was selfish, that’s not what I’m saying, but bc he placed his whole identity on this image that people concocted for him based on him appearing the perfect prince. He was handsome, he was talented, and he was handsome! So who cares about him as a person?

Idk man. You spend four seasons (I watch the specials on Netflix so that’s why four idk if it’s three to some ppl or whatever tho) watching him be praised for his looks, watching girls fawn over him, and of course he enjoys it so nobody really questions how much he enjoys it. And then you get this girl, this girl who owes him nothing, this girl who (contrary to popular belief apparently) has a life of her own and people she cares about outside of him, and she’s nice to him. And she’s the first person after everything happens to just be nice to him, for the sake of being nice. Something about that will always hit different for me

i have so much to say about 14x19. like. dare i say this was the most in character dean’s been in the last like. 3 seasons.

first and foremost. wdym sam took dean’s box plan lying down??? like?? there are so many disturbing parallels to the panic room episode that it genuinely confused me how sam was actively helping dean manipulate jack into the box. he didn’t even really flinch or even act like it was bothering him at all, even though he was in that same style of traumatic situation like. what. and even more so!! that’s his kid!!! his child!! he wanted to build him a funeral pyre by hand!! he brought him back to life!! and yet!! he just goes along with dean’s fuckass plan to put him through the same fate that he could’ve gone through. what!

second. how is CAS the only one with his head in the right place??? i mean. this is cas. 99% of the time he goes along with what dean says cause he’s a stupid gay idiot. and yet. he calls dean out on the manipulative bullshit yes king!! respect. i get it pal. yknow shit’s going down when the only voice of reason is castiel

third. i ask this very seriously. what did they think was going to happen? i mean. we’ve seen time and time again that jack is much more powerful than the average archangel. i mean. he killed one. COME ON. it’s one thing if dean was convinced this would work cause he’s delusional when he’s being. insane. but like. you’re telling me it didn’t once cross sam’s mind that perhaps the archangel box wouldn’t work on a guy who’s more powerful than an archangel?? he just went for it??

fundamentally it’s just. dean has shown much earlier that he’s ready to sacrifice people that he considers important for “the greater good”. he was ready to kill sam back in season 5 because of the chance that he could even say yes to lucifer existed. AND YET. somehow sam, who was the victim of this mindset, still went along with it?? and somehow cas is the one to be like hey maybe we shouldn’t do that?? idk it just doesnt sit right with me
