Talking about Art reference and some source.
In this age of AI Art and corporate Art industry, I think it is more important than ever to cite your inspiration and reference, to both works and creators, than to call Ai art soul less or not art.
Before AI Art, Pinterest is also one of the greatest "art/reference middleman" that hoard all reference and disconnect artists from the useful source to learn instead of cherry-picking information that might be wrong or lacking context.
Before ChatBots scraping data and spew out recipe telling people to add bleach into egg mix, we have websites choke full of stolen recipes that came with pointless made up life story to add as many unnecessary keywords to Search Engine Optimization, written by unpaid interns.
What comes to mind is the "wolf skull" that is actually a badger skull and used wildly as a tattoo reference.
Or an art student who study horse muscles, and they mistakenly give the horse human muscle somewhere, also wildly used as a reference.
And the worst of all, tumblr, that feel like the last big website that allow me to curate my own user experience has notoriously awful search function (still not as bad as twitter). I couldn't to find the source for both incident, even if I am mostly sure I reblogged it.
Also, beside the inaccuracy, I want people to think of it as less, "I don't want to use AI Art (or use it as a reference) because they are worse." and more of a:
"We are losing our respect and connection to people who search and publish information. Because of all of these middlemen, Google, Pinterest, and now AI tools, who love to obfuscate information source they took from someone's hard work."
"We are losing out on chances to connect to each other and build community based on shared goals."
"We are losing out developing respect of knowledge, critical thinking skills, and curiosity because we are under a false premise that all knowledge is easily available/easily created."
"We are losing our chance to decided to be someone who provide information and teaching instead of consuming and learning all the time. Unlike what the internet search engine and Chatbot, want to convince you, knowledge is hard-earned and not always available."

Fast list for privacy minded people (I lied, it's long):
Change your DNS from the default ISP provisioned one to literally anything else that has decent reputation. CloudFlare is pretty good to bet on, and Firefox has toggles to use it instead of your system DNS. Alternatively if you don't hate Google, they have a DNS that is marginally an improvement from an ISP default but you're certainly being datamined by Big Letters and they are gleefully compliant warrants or not. There are ample public DNS servers out there unlike the next point.
That is fine for general browsing and making it difficult for your ISP to snoop on you, a step further is obfuscating your public IP which makes it difficult for third-parties to track and identify you. VPNs come in here. Free ones ought to be avoided unfortunately in all but the most milquetoast use-cases. Even then they are likely collecting your data so it's best to use a paid service from a well reputed provider that is specifically not based in a 14 Eyes or mandatory logging country. CyberGhostVPN has a lot of literature on this to reference.
Use HTTPS-forcing extensions and avoid HTTP-only websites. This will require all data in transit to be encrypted which makes it impossible for third-parties including your ISP to know exactly what you are doing. Some sites still have HTTP bits on otherwise HTTPS websites, make sure your extension or browser refuses to load these parts without your consent. However be mindful that the server you are talking to obviously will know what data you sent or requested and may or may not store or use it in some way. This info may be available in some privacy statement etc. Assume that your IP, connection details, etc are all logged and act accordingly.
Avoid Tor unless you are especially confident in your understanding. While it isn't 100% confirmed, it's been generally accepted that certain powers have indeed compromised swathes of the Tor network and have the ability to eventually identify you. The naive use of this tool will be more of a hindrance causing false security than it will help you if you are actually needing a list like this.
Likewise, do not assume encryption means anything. Don't buy into anything you don't understand enough to feel confident explaining to someone else. At most, if it isn't a absolute pain in the ass, find a reputable encrypted email provider or learn how to use OpenPGP to encrypt email communications. Side note to OpenPGP, it also is useful as a way to verify your communications are yours and is often used as such in mailing lists or for contributing to open software/validating packages. In a deep fake world this will become more important but isn't quite a privacy matter.
Generally speaking, fancy tools and technologies are worthless if you can't really use them and actually a hindrance to you. If you start with a zero privacy/zero security assumption as default and operate accordingly you'll already be far ahead of the curve with little added complexity or effort. Don't say stupid shit, don't do stupid shit, don't give out stupid shit. Never ever use public or work APs for personal or private browsing, I'd say don't even connect to public wifis at all even. Don't do personal stuff at work either, and try to keep work computers off your private network and personal devices off work networks. Mindset is probably by far more important than any of the other points. Techno neophytes and fetishists will never tell you that most of your privacy and security comes from your brain.
And since it won't let me do it my way.. 0. Security does not mean privacy, nor does privacy mean security. These are two separate goals. This is an important distinction to make.

Jsyk facial recognition tech is advanced enough to identify people through face coverings now, (the example given was combination mask + hijab, of course, but from that it can be interpreted that the person's nose, mouth and ears were obscured and potentially also their hairline and jaw/face shape). I'm not including any sources because they all link to/include footage of people being doxxed as proof it works. Additionally, any viral facial recognition avoidance hack has probably become obsolete by nature of going viral and being seen + addressed by surveillance devs. This is most acutely an issue for the targets of pro-Israel extremists and government organisations. Again, I'm not sure why I'm posting this cuz I'm not willing to include sources that doxx people as examples of the technology working, and I can't find any existing news articles that aren't neocolonial fucking freaks about this being a good thing. But it is confirmed that facial recognition is advanced enough to identify people through multiple layers of obfuscation, that the technology is considered reliable enough for it to go public, and that biometric data continues to be a tool specifically for furthering the war on terror. I want to encourage fact checking and shit but I also don't want to be like "hey wanna see how this works?" and link to a database of doxxed motherfuckers? Privacy violation is privacy violation even when trying to help people learn about it, but I could have made all this up and/or misinterpreted shit so I should link my sources? Idfk

tbh the thing that keeps me from supporting using AI as a value neutral tool is that large generative AI models were all built using stolen work. Work/art made without using AI isn't necessarily "better" or more "real," but work made with generative AI is always in part created using work and data taken from people without their consent. Just because the companies selling it do everything they can to obfuscate where that data was stolen from doesn't make it any less stolen. idk anything about what your day job is, but judging from my own experiences with work conferences, at least some of the people responsible for making that presentation happen had financial incentive to not present all the arguments against using generative AI fairly, and I think that's work keeping in mind when weighing their own arguments

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump ‘s administration moved Tuesday to end affirmative action in federal contracting and directed that all federal diversity, equity and inclusion staff be put on paid leave and eventually be laid off.
The moves follow an executive order Trump signed on his first day ordering a sweeping dismantling of the federal government’s diversity and inclusion programs that could touch on everything from anti-bias training to funding for minority farmers and homeowners. Trump has called the programs “discrimination” and insisted on restoring strictly “merit-based” hiring.
The executive order on affirmative action revokes an order issued by President Lyndon Johnson, and curtails DEI programs by federal contractors and grant recipients. It’s using one of the key tools utilized by the Biden administration to promote DEI programs across the private sector — pushing their use by federal contractors — to now eradicate them.
The Office of Personnel Management in a Tuesday memo directed agencies to place DEI office staffers on paid leave by 5 p.m. Wednesday and take down all public DEI-focused webpages by the same deadline. Several federal departments had removed the webpages even before the memorandum. Agencies must also cancel any DEI-related training and end any related contracts, and federal workers are being asked to report to Trump’s Office of Personnel Management if they suspect any DEI-related program has been renamed to obfuscate its purpose within 10 days or face “adverse consequences.”
By Thursday, federal agencies are directed to compile a list of federal DEI offices and workers as of Election Day. By next Friday, they are expected to develop a plan to execute a “reduction-in-force action” against those federal workers.
The memo was first reported by CBS News.
The move comes after Monday’s executive order accused former President Joe Biden of forcing “discrimination” programs into “virtually all aspects of the federal government” through “diversity, equity and inclusion” programs, known as DEI.
That step is the first salvo in an aggressive campaign to upend DEI efforts nationwide, including leveraging the Justice Department and other agencies to investigate private companies pursuing training and hiring practices that conservative critics consider discriminatory against non-minority groups such as white men.
The executive order picks up where Trump’s first administration left off: One of Trump’s final acts during his first term was an executive order banning federal agency contractors and recipients of federal funding from conducting anti-bias training that addressed concepts like systemic racism. Biden promptly rescinded that order on his first day in office and issued a pair of executive orders — now rescinded — outlining a plan to promote DEI throughout the federal government.
While many changes may take months or even years to implement, Trump’s new anti-DEI agenda is more aggressive than his first and comes amid far more amenable terrain in the corporate world. Prominent companies from Walmart to Facebook have already scaled back or ended some of their diversity practices in response to Trump’s election and conservative-backed lawsuits against them.
Here’s a look at some of the policies and programs that Trump will aim to dismantle:
Diversity offices, training and accountability
Trump’s order will immediately gut Biden’s wide-ranging effort to embed diversity and inclusion practices in the federal workforce, the nation’s largest at about 2.4 million people.
Biden had mandated all agencies to develop a diversity plan, issue yearly progress reports, and contribute data for a government-wide dashboard to track demographic trends in hiring and promotions. The administration also set up a Chief Diversity Officers Council to oversee the implementation of the DEI plan. The government released its first DEI progress report in 2022 that included demographic data for the federal workforce, which is about 60% white and 55% male overall, and more than 75% white and more than 60% male at the senior executive level.
Trump’s executive order will toss out equity plans developed by federal agencies and terminate any roles or offices dedicated to promoting diversity. It will include eliminating initiatives such as DEI-related training or diversity goals in performance reviews.
Federal grant and benefits programs
Trump’s order paves the way for an aggressive but bureaucratically complicated overhaul of billions of dollars in federal spending that conservative activists claim unfairly carve out preference for racial minorities and women.
The order does not specify which programs it will target but mandates a government-wide review to ensure that contracts and grants are compliant with the Trump administration’s anti-DEI stance. It also proposes that the federal government settle ongoing lawsuits against federal programs that benefit historically underserved communities, including some that date back decades.
Trump’s executive order is a “seismic shift and a complete change in the focus and direction of the federal government,” said Dan Lennington, deputy council for the conservative Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty, which has pursued several lawsuits against federal programs. The institute recently released an influential report listing dozens of programs the Trump administration should consider dismantling, such as credits for minority farmers or emergency relief assistance for majority-Black neighborhoods.
He acknowledged that unwinding some entrenched programs may be difficult. For example, the Treasury Department implements housing and other assistance programs through block grants to states that have their own methods for implementing diversity criteria.
Pay equity and hiring practices
It’s not clear whether the Trump administration will target every initiative that stemmed from Biden’s DEI executive order.
For example, the Biden administration banned federal agencies from asking about an applicant’s salary history when setting compensation, a practice many civil rights activists say perpetuates pay disparities for women and people of color.
It took three years for the Biden administration to issue the final regulations, and Trump would have to embark on a similar rule-making process, including a notice and comment period, to rescind it, said Chiraag Bains, former deputy director of the White House Domestic Policy Council under Biden and now a nonresident senior fellow with Brookings Metro.
Noreen Farrell, executive director of gender rights group Equal Rights Advocates, said that she was hopeful that the Trump administration “will not go out of its way to undo the rule,” which she said has proved popular in some state and cities that have enacted similar policies.
And Biden’s DEI plan encompassed some initiatives with bipartisan support, said Bains. For example, he tasked the Chief Diversity Officers Executive Council with expanding federal employment opportunities for those with criminal records. That initiative stems from the Fair Chance Act, which Trump signed into law in 2019 and bans federal agencies and contractors from asking about an applicant’s criminal history before a conditional job offer is made.
Bains said that’s what Biden’s DEI policies were about: ensuring that the federal government was structured to include historically marginalized communities, not institute “reverse discrimination against white men.”
Despite the sweeping language of Trump’s order, Farrell said, “the reality of implementing such massive structural changes is far more complex.”
“Federal agencies have deeply embedded policies and procedures that can’t simply be switched off overnight,” she added.

Every day I go online and am exhausted by the amount of people who's takeaway from the "AI" debacle is that machine learning is bad full stop, and not that the problem is huge corporations with unethical business practices shilling premature technology trained on unethically sourced data and profiting off of it while underpaid labor does behind the scenes cleanup, and an uninformed public gaining access to these tools without fully understanding what it even IS let alone how it operates thanks to tech hype buzzwords and intentional obfuscation
Like I feel like I'm having a totally different conversation than someone who's like. AI BAD COPYRIGHT GOOD

i hate adnauseam and similar ad blockers which are just "it clicks on every ad so that it confuses them"
it's machine algorithms. if they see you clicking on every single ad on every single page, they can quickly see that it's just one person doing all of this and they can fingerprint you better.
a second thing is that it still. sends all of your data to the advertising company. and makes them money.
i think obfuscating data isn't really a good replacement for not sending data in the first place (uBlock blocks trackers and a lot of info gathering tools and shit)

Your nervous system produces an electromagnetic tauroidal field around your body within which function the mechanics of mind. To make contact with the multi-dimensional aspects of your experiences, (the subconscious, higher-self, spirits, ancestors, parallel lives, etc) you must balance the elements of your energy system. There are many ways to describe these (Chakras, Calens, Astyrs, Dimensions, etc) and when they are balanced we are living in the moment, acting on our joy & passions, & are resistant to manipulation.

In general these can be balanced the following way (this isn't limited to one order of course) ...
1D ❤️ The root center, aka the inner serpent of your gut feelings (subconscious). To begin, close the circuit (ground yourself). Mindful breathing allows your awareness (electrical current) to oscillate up and down your spine like an electromagnet, drawing imagination towards you.
2D 🧡 flush the system of static energy & negative beliefs (cry, shake, fuck, stim, movement, etc) this is much more effective with grounding. Motion conducts energy, energy is communication.
3D 💛 Recenter yourself. This is the fire in your belly (eat, drink, mindfulness, logic, community)
4D 💚 Feel your inner truth, disregarding expectations for what it's "supposed" to look like. Allow yourself to just be. (the heart opens, contact is made)
5D 🩵 Now love (you) can be expressed (this is automatic and limited only by your belief systems)
6D 💙 Observing this symphony if inter-dimensional communication is intuition (when observing, start from the root)
7D 💜 Where we navigate these dimensions is through imagination (visualizing, synchronicity, coincidence, dreams, journaling, the arts, etc). Reading or watching fiction is an easy way to access this dimension to learn what it feels like. Grounding automatically draws this dimension into our awareness. An unbalanced system can obfuscate this access
Cycle this process from grounding again for increased clarity of attracted imagination. (this can manifest as creativity & "psychic abilities" like empathetic "telepathy" with animals)

The idea that AI steals art was completely made up as a product of the massive game of telephone that is the internet. It does no such thing. Here's a Wikipedia article that discusses how the underlying technology works. Reading it, you'll notice that no part of the process involves storing pieces of existing material to be pasted into the output. The real issue to be aware of is that the companies making AI are scraping data irresponsibly and unethically. The product they make and its users are not responsible for this. Besides, it's the kind of issue that can be solved with the most basic of regulation. I shouldn't have to explain how commissioning art isn't the same as making it. Yes, using AI can qualify as making art. It's true that the technology can also be used to mass-produce meaningless images that are extremely shallow from an artistic perspective, but at the same time, using AI to generate an image can be just as artistically profound as taking a photograph or setting up a piece of generative art. It truly is no different from any other form of graphic design in this regard. Using an AI program isn't just outsourcing the entire artistic process to the machine—current AI completely lacks autonomy, and will only make what it is told to. Any prompt that is too vague will result in weird stuff that doesn't make sense popping up in the background, or between and around the elements that were prompted more specifically. As such, the only way to make good art with AI is to put effort in. Be as precise as you can, and iterate until it is finally to your satisfaction. You are the only agent involved in this process—the AI is simply your tool.
Obviously, this isn't necessary for all or even most disabled people. You're 100% right that the disabled will always find new ways to make art. But you also have to acknowledge that this is one of them.

Every time we call these useful tools "AI" we let the "generative AI" people dictate our language to us. And they want the obfuscation because to most people "AI" (ChatGPT) and "AI" (a neural network designed specifically to recognize certain patterns in very specific physics instrument outputs) are both just "AI" (magical computer thing that I don't understand). So we say "some types of AI can be useful!" what most people take away is "AI" can be useful. And the AI tech bros can rely on that perception to say "you need to let us scrape everyone's creative data to build our chatbot because it will invent new ways to solve the climate crisis" which it absolutely CANNOT DO.
Don't do these motherfuckers' work for them. Call things what they are.
