i just want to remind everyone that, since the grishaverse is kinda sorta based on the victorian era, and since wealthy victorian families dressed their toddlers (girls or boys) in dresses, and wylan was very wealthy growing up, there are definitely family portraits in existence of baby wylan wearing one of those goofy ass victorian baby dresses

Wylan overworking himself with council meetings and paperwork, forgetting to eat some meals somedays but keeps insisting to Jesper he's fine until he just passes out one day out of exhaustion.

Jesper promptly orders him to stay in bed once he wakes up and his only job right now is to relax. He then goes to the council meetings himself and proceeds to strike three deals in favor for them in the span of one day that the council has been arguing about for weeks

Thoughts:

⚠️SPOILERS AHEAD!!⚠️

-The evolution of Morrigan’s character was AMAZING. Her “teenage complex” felt so relatable because as a 13-14 year old I too thought I was grown up and automatically gained independence.

-The connections made to Morrigan’s family was so cool. Learning about the silverborn was so interesting and I loved the Noelle cameo. My diva is so back!

-i initially thought Holliday committed the murder in order to get the dragon for Hawthorne, but the murderer being Tobias was such a twist that I wasn’t expecting. The guiltghast too….

-BERTRAM CROW??

-JUPITER’S SISTER????

-THE CAKES BAHAHAHAHA

-Jupiter finally getting a grip when she tells him about squall is my favorite thing. Okay character development! Okay self restraint!

-“I love you too, Mog.” TEARS.

-Morrigan and Jupiter technically being related makes me giggle “Uncle Jove” bro that’s BEEN your father figure.

-There is so much more I have to say but I’ll wait a few weeks until the other US fandom peeps can read it

Feel free to ignore this, but I have to ask since I've been rewatching yugioh 5ds and you're one of the very few blogs I've searched that mentioned Satellite Bros age order. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this and if you know other blogs that talk about it.

Word of god canon is that the age order is Jack (19), Yusei (18), and Crow (17), at the start of the series.

But while you can make an argument that Yusei would have records, people who knew when he was born, or at least a birth certificate, Jack and Crow are orphans. If Jack is indeed 19, then he would have been roughly a year old when Zero Reverse happened, likely killing his parents, at the very least destroying a massive amount of city infrastructure. You tell me Jack knows his birthday and I press (X) to doubt.

Crow is apparently canonically younger than Yusei, but. His parents also died in Zero Reverse.

This. This straight up does not work.

Also Yusei is shown to be a baby when Zero Reverse occurred and if Crow's parents did indeed die in Zero Reverse when he was under a year old he there is NO WAY he would live much longer than that. That's just. How babies work.

CROW HOGAN HAS TO BE OLDER THAN YUSEI.

I will die on this hill. I watched the show thinking Crow was the middle brother and then learned their apparent canon ages after because he has to be older than Yusei for any of his backstory to make sense. Konami can fight me on this.

NARRATIVELY they are the middle and youngest child. Jack has Past motifs, Crow is Present, and Yusei is Future. Jack and Yusei's whole dynamic is the most oldest sibling vs youngest sibling drama possible.

As for Jack, I always like to think it was his birthday like, a week before Yusei leaves Satellite, because being a Newly Minted Twenty Year Old explains everything about his personality.

I like seeing my favs happy as much as the next guy but like sometimes it’s not about a happy ending for me it’s about the most interesting conflict and Lucanis sticking with the job and all the drama that comes with it is ten times more interesting in that regard if I want a runaway crow I simply already have Zevran

My Bagginshield epistolary is not actually epistolary, unfortunately. It's labelled epistolary because it features a bit of a pen pal situation post BoTFA, in which Bilbo and Thorin send each other letters by crow between Erebor and the Shire. So originally, when I was cooking this up, I was like "yeah, epistolary vibes." Imagine the pining...

The excerpt actually comes from the post-pen pal era because I wrote it and then decided to add a pen pal era before it lol:

“It is not so easy,” Thorin said instead. “I am not prince, as you are. I am king, and I have a responsibility to my people. And do you not remember the journey here? Should I set out towards Bilbo, I won’t arrive in the Shire until after the halfling has forgotten about me.”

“He will not forget about you if he lives to be five hundred,” Kili scoffed, rolling his eyes. Thorin was momentarily flattered by this, but Kili added, “You introduced him to a dragon and then tried to throw him from the ramparts for trying to save your life, your treasure, your mountain, and your people.”
