“There’s a little bit of Frank in all of us; I genuinely believe that. Like that line, ‘We’re all one bad day away from being me.’ I think that Frank is seeing himself in Matt, and Matt knows that he’s seeing Frank in himself, and there’s a glee in that. But also, Frank really has no time for the gray. He has no time for figuring things out or obsessing over things. Frank really believes that the back and forth and the twisting and turning that Matt does is antithetical from his truth, and he knows it. For Frank, there’s nothing like having that bit of wisdom over Matt and torturing him about it because he knows that he’s right.”
JON BERNTHAL — about frank castle and matt murdock in episode four.

Heather: I'm gonna write a book about wearing a mask and having two identities! I need to interview Frank Castle for that!
meanwhile, Frank: *LITERALLY WORKS MASKLESS AND HAS ONLY ONE IDENTITY TO HIM*
Girl, what are you talking about.

I believe in kastle endgame (or at least leaving things open to that possibility) because for frank, there is no one else. there's only karen.
thinking back to jon saying to deborah: "like what is he doing there? it's like if it's not you, everyone else is gone."
matt has a zillion love interests, and karen is one of them, but they're not going to introduce another love interest for frank. they're just not. so either he dies, or he lives the rest of his life alone, or he and karen get together.

I think people are overthinking the choice to kill Foggy and jumping to conclusions. It’s easy to assume Disney is trying to separate potential gay interpretations, and they certainly have done that in the past I’m not denying that, but I really don’t think that’s the case here and this is why: We know that for the MCU they were either planning on having their Daredevil be a separate universe from the Netflix show or/and Foggy & Karen being killed off screen so that they could do what they wanted with the character with no prior strings attached. And so, they started the original 18 ep version of DDBA with Karen and Foggy being out of the picture probably years before it was taking place, realized that was a terrible idea and the show was awful, but there’s already so much footage filmed and script written and it would take too much time to scrap it all and start over, SO in the rewrite they decided to kill foggy at the start to explain why both Foggy and Karen are absent in the already filmed footage. This way they can also put Matt through a lot of turmoil and growth, and it explains why he’s been somewhat absent in the MCU recently.
I’m also still in the wait and see stage, the season isn’t done yet! Give them some air to cook! Let them play out the story they want to tell!
(All of this is also why I think the new writers will bring Foggy back at the end of the season!)

They should've titled that first episode Heaven's Quarter Hour bc that's how long it took for them to toss us straight into hell

"What's great about this job for me is, I kind of — as an actor I get to have all the kind of childlike fun of the stunts and the action sequences, but then, you know, over the course of an eight-episode, nine-episode season there's lots of really great acting scenes, you know, with Deborah and all the other characters, so it's kind of... the best of both worlds in that regard." — Charlie Cox

When production was shut down due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, Daredevil: Born Again underwent a creative overhaul, which saw several characters who weren’t part of the original show added for episodes directed by Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead. One of them was Benjamin Poindexter AKA Bullseye, who finally wears his iconic suit from the comics, albeit with a few modifications.
Tumblr media
In designing the suit, Gunshor said that “the idea was that it was not a full-fledged superhero suit. It’s more of a collaboration between tactics and armor. There’s something a little bit grounded and realistic in his suit. We looked through the comics to find out how we would put the rings while not going too far or too little. For the black rings around his neck, if you actually were to look down at him overhead, the rings continue to the back. It was really exciting with our directive shift. The whole point was to make an awesome show. And I think that Dario Scardapane coming in really achieved that and gave us the excitement and vision that we needed.”

DDBA: look at all these corrupt cops wandering around with Punisher logos
Me: (brows rise)
DDBA: Hector won't get a fair trial, you know how the system is
Me: (brows rise further)
DDBA: they would rather spend 5 times the money to jail someone in poverty than feed them
Me, brows now at the level of the ceiling: holy shit we're actually going there
This was one of the things I always wanted to argue with Foggy about in the old show - his belief in letting the system handle things; his belief that the system worked, it just needed a nudge sometimes. But the system doesn't work. Or rather, it works as intended, which is unfairly.
Like damn. I know they stated that in interviews a bit back, that Matt eventually puts the mask back on because he's forced to face the reality that the system doesn't work and DD is needed. That he'll wrestle with this growing realization that even if he continues fighting to fix the system, he HAS to fill this void as Daredevil. But damn, it's another thing to actually see them go for it, and I'm here for it.
