Budget EDH #1: $25 Big & Stupid (Imoti & Keruga)
Hey folks! I'm writing a series of budget Commander decks, aimed towards being cheaper than the average precon.
Kicking this series off is an Imoti, Celebrant of Bounty deck with Keruga as a companion- Keruga was almost a freeroll, so I fit it in as the companion slot, but if you want to play lower CMC spells for some reason or your playgroup doesn't like companions, it's still wonderful in the 99.
The deck is heavily centered on big things that cheat their own costs- for example, Verdant Mastery and Mockery of Nature- and cascade into other things via Imoti, because of the way cost reduction functions with mana value. It's packed with neat tricks that bounce your own creatures to recast for value, ramp to get to your bigger things naturally, and still manages to have a fair amount of interaction.

❤+ yunhuntress
I’m so glad my path crossed with @yunhuntress !
It’s been about five hundred years since we first started interacting, and I’m forever grateful they reached out. I know jack shit about FFXIII, but they really make me want to learn more! Fang seems like a strong character, but with such a dependable and warm undercurrent.
This is kind of silly, but I think their choice of Angie Harmon as a face claim is a stroke of brilliance and I adore it. I also really wish I hadn’t deleted a bunch of old ooc posts with them, because I still remember the deckposting being super fun.
It’s great to see them back on my dash and I’m looking forward to more adventures!

Budget EDH #2: $20 Math Is For Blockers (Subira)
Hey folks! I'm writing a series of budget Commander decks, aimed towards being cheaper than the average precon. The premiere is here for those curious!
For today's deck, we've got a Subira, Tulzidi Caravanner deck! I figured I could get one of her lists lower than most others, because there's plenty of decent red creatures at low mana costs, and while I didn't hit my $15 target, I'm real happy with how it turned out.
This deck plays small creatures, hits people with them, and uses Subira to refuel. It jams a handful of Hellrider effects to make full use of the go-wide strategy Subira encourages, and a few backup pieces like Contested War Zone and Rites of Initiation in case the primary plan of casting basically your entire deck falls through. There's less interaction than I'd liiike, but overall, I don't think it needs as much interaction as most decks- the best removal, after all, is player removal.

Oddball Brews #1: $75 Boar Burps
The second series I'm introducing on this blog, hoping to publish Wednesdays, is strange, unconventional brews that were outside of the price range for my budget content but still $100 or less! To kick off, we have GW Belcher with Yasharn at the helm!
Back before Zendikar Rising introduced MDFC lands, Goblin Charbelcher decks in Modern were janky builds running Lay of the Land effects just to function. They often fizzled and were very easy to hate out, with all the volatility of Storm and none of the consistency. Commander decks featuring Belcher usually are either monowhite Endless Horizons-based builds that use it as an incidental 2 card combo, or Arcum Dagsson builds with a Mana Severance. Either way, those are 10-dollar cards slotted into a full deck- they can hardly be called Belcher.
This is neither of those.
Boar Burps is a blend of MDFCs, Lay of the Lands, and card filtering designed to imitate the old G Belcher lists. Running only 13 actual lands and thirty-two ways to find them, running 13 collective ways to get Belcher from the graveyard, exile, and library, and a whole mess of card filtering, Boar Burps is the weirdest deck I've had the pleasure of building.

Budget EDH #4: $30 Firja Reanimator
Hey everyone! Making up for the missed post yesterday, I've got our first WB deck in the series: Firja, Judge of Valor. Also the first one to follow a more complex strategy!
The deck has four main components: Reanimation, Firja Proc, Ramp, and Reanimate Targets. I'll break down the plan as follows:
Reanimation. Every reanimator deck needs ways to, well, reanimate- this brew runs five repeatable reanimator spells on top of eight one-use spells, including God-Pharaoh's Gift.
Firja Proc. Most reanimator decks in WB struggle getting cards in the graveyard without Entombing them, but our commander fills that niche! We have 11 onedrops for that, plus a chunk of 2drops that you don't mind usually just running out- and we also run Gravebreaker Lamia, cause it's a cheap entomber that finds anything.
Ramp. Firja costs 5 mana. That's a lot. Sometimes, it ends up being cheaper to cast your reanimator targets than to cast Firja again. To that end, we run Myriad Landscape on top of eight pieces of other ramp- ideally, there'd be more, but I really didn't want to push over $30.
Reanimate Targets. This is the fun bit. We have a bunch of big, impractical creatures to cheat into play, including Necropolis Regent, Baleful Force, Thieving Amalgam, and both the Primordials in our colours- all big, swingy threats that don't usually see play because they aren't that good on rate, but cheating them in with things like Unburial Rites, well, that makes them a lot better.

Budget EDH #3: $25 No Terfs On Gruul Turf
Hey everyone! Back from the hiatus with a pretty simple one, a $25 Radha brew that makes things and turns them sideways- functions very similarly to this deck, but with a little more oomf- a lot of tricks like Vitalizing Wind and Clan Defiance to make use of Radha's mana production, lot of creatures that aren't as small as Subira's fare.
The deck is faiiiirly stock budget Gruul, but it does run a few underrated gems I really enjoy- Predatory Advantage, Oakhame Adversary, and Clan Defiance, to name three.
