Perhaps now he was finished with the adjustments on his personal teleporter? This device was always so finicky, he notes, and even though he’s been working out issues little by little, two problems seem to crop up for each singular problem solved.

But finally, he thinks he’s solved all the issues, and with just a hint of (he thinks) well-deserved smugness, he activates it. The device, attached to the belt on his hip, begins to hum. Everything so far is within expected parameters ...

Wait a minute. Why is it beeping? Why is the power surging again? He can’t turn it off!

ZZAP!

YIPE!

It takes him a minute, from where he’s landed, to sit himself up. He is sitting on a beach, somewhere, absolutely covered in sand. Great. The yordle gives a sigh and begins to dust off his coat. It’s all over! This is the worst. He’ll probably be shaking sand out of his fur for days.

“Aahh, this always happens!” He huffs, to himself mainly, kicking a little at the sand in frustration. “I will have this device working, sooner or later. Now, ah ... I need to figure out where I’ve ended up.”
