Ok so I didn't research Delphox in advance like I did for the last couple 7-stars but if you see this and it's still going and need help, then lucky for you this one's pretty simple.

Heatran. Get a fucking Heatran. So long as this isn't your first Pokemon game and you have a Home subscription, this should be pretty simple.

You don't even need to train it if you're playing online with strangers, just make sure its Tera-Type is Steel.

Moves? Only 2. Metal Sound and Flash Cannon. Use Metal Sound once (Twice if you're trying to do this offline), and then just spam Flash Cannon. Terastallize as soon as you're able. Once you're Terastallized none of its attacks can hurt you. Steel resists both fairy and Psychic, and Flash Fire protects you from Fire Blast and Will-o-Wisp.

Items? Don't worry about it. It'll set up Magic Room early on so you can't use them anyway. This is the most straightforward raid boss we've had in a while because while Fire/Psychic allows it to counter all of Fairy's weaknesses normally, it can't counter a Steel-type with Flash Fire.

The event 7⭐ Tera Raid Battles are finally returning, the next one being against Fairy Tera-Type Delphox. It runs from Jul7 to Jul9, and again from Jul14 thru Jul16!

…four 7-star raids beaten in one day (in the span of under an hour and a half. I’m not actually sure when I started the Incineroar raid in Scarlet but it was after six o’clock and it was half past seven when I finished the Serperior raid in Violet) which is pretty impressive given there are two games and only one raid event going on (I was not mentally well when the Incineroar raids were active. I’d like to think that’s as good an excuse as doing the Dondozo raids late because I was on holiday)

So I’ve noticed something about the Starter 7 Star raids

They are all shiny/IV locked but they are also gender locked. For most of them that means they are always male…

EXCEPT for Delphox, Eevee and now Meganium who are always female

And like, WHY? If they were all 100% male it would weirdly bother me less because it would be “male is the default, sucks but whatever they are mostly male anyway”

BUT having these three always be female means that Game Freak is making a conscious choice about the genders of these static Pokemon. And that the magician fox, baby dog-fox and dinosaur with flower are intrinsically “feminine” and thus are female

And I dunno, it seems a bit gender essentialist in a weird way

Ok I hope you are ready bc I'm in the mood for a bit of a rant. Let me set the stage for you. Also, I had to link to youtube videos of my clips bc Tumblr only lets me post one video per post :(

I absolutely LOVE Fennekin! I've cosplayed as Serena before and I've got the most adorable fennekin plush proudly displayed (or it would be if my office was set up, but you get the point). I decided to boot up pokemon violet, transfer a hisuian goodra over from legends and give the new raid event a shot. All I needed to do was EV train it for it to be battle-ready for some 7 star raids. Let's just say it went.. p o o r l y. Here are three of many reasons why I will not be buying the Scarlet/Violet DLC and honestly, why I might not buy the next main series game even though I have bought and played every main series game to date (also games like legends, and the remakes).

Reason #1: most of my raid mons need full EVs in HP because raids are hard and dying sucks for everyone. Dondozo gives 4 evs in HP, is easy to knock out, and is plentiful in one area of the map. Unfortunately, the area I most commonly find it is in lag lake; full of tiny trip hazards (Tatsugiri), and the fucking bane of my existence, winner of the most annoying fish award, veluza. I wish the clip below could capture the purest essence of how bad this area's framerate is, but I forgot to clip it while it was RAINING. I can't believe Pokemon was able to put a ppt presentation on the switch! Neat!

Reason #2: This one is not so big but it did happen. I honestly thought the game crashed on me right then and there. It actually booted me out of mesagoza city entirely when this happened and put me in front of the west gate outside the city. wtf?!?

Reason #3: Tera Raids are just not fun. I'm sorry. This is ridiculous and just plain unacceptable. Not us losing, that was totally expected haha that ceruledge was lvl 73 🙃 . But the fact that I had to sit here for what felt like an eternity (longer than this clip!) for what? nothing??? I'm putting my goodra back in legends (if that's even allowed? I don't remember?) I've not touched Violet in months and the fact that I am lured into booting it up for my little fox friend only to be met with it being in this same, sorry ass, joke of a state is frankly embarrassing.
