I finished all 4 seasons of Life With Derek a while ago! The show got a lot better after it's somewhat awkward season 1 (at least imo). The pacing got better and the jokes landed pretty well. Ashley Leggat (the actress for the main character Casey) did some great comedic acting! Now, for obvious reasons, I was watching it for the popular step-sibling ship of Derek x Casey, but I found myself getting invested in the whole family!

Funnily enough, I was watching a few episodes in front of my mom, without telling her anything behind the reason I was watching it, and she said something along the lines of "so is the main girl supposed to end up with her step brother?" LMAO. Even she picked up on the tension!

I'm happy to announce that I enjoyed a few of the canon ships, like Derek/Emily and Casey/Sam, but I HATED Casey/Truman. The only thing about Truman I'm grateful for was that he gave Derek a reason to stand up for Casey. Anyways, no one ever talks about Edwin and Lizzie's relationship! They're so cute! Whether in an innocent puppy dog kind of love (if you wanna go there), or just as good step-sibling friends. They were very fun to watch.

I mentioned this before, but it's kind of like a Disney Channel version of "Marmalade Boy," and now I really want to draw Casey and Derek in the style of that manga!

I still haven't watched the 2 movies, but I plan on it! I wanted to write more about this show, but then I came across this article while searching for images, and it basically says everything I wanted to say! It's a great article to read if you're up to it and made me appreciate the uniqueness of this family sitcom more. In the future, I want to write more reviews and/or commentaries for shows, but I always forget to take notes while I'm watching, haha.

I truly think that Casey did not realize her feelings for Derek the entirety of Life with Derek.
