Absolutely lovely session with our monthly professional actors school in partnership with the amazing AKP Management Agency at Chestnut Community Centre today.A small turnout for the showreels and self taping workshop today but people were amazing and it was so lovely! The director is chucked in the harbour! Thank you so much to all the businesses around the harbour who sponsored Laura our director to be dunked in the outer harbour. As promised here is the video ! All fundraising for local our theatre work creating opportunities and great shows for people in the local South Devon area. It’s always really tough getting arts funding down here and we have to raise it ourselves with things like this, stalls, eBay etc as grants, wider arts funding etc have been tried for, for 19 years without any luck, but we refuse to give up .

A brilliant day today at Brixham Town Council’s Christmas Fayre in the Scala hall, with Lisa, Sean & Laura running our stall both to fundraise and spread the word about our work. Tomorrow (Saturday) we have stalls both at the Scala, and at Diverse Events CIC’s event on Middle Street, with Ruth, Lisa and Laura.

Lovely Sean plays the drunken Porter in our production of Macbeth (the Porter also takes on various other servant roles at Macbeth’s castle, all played as the Porter).

Sean is an amazing comedic actor and writer, recently involved in a BAFTA project, and so much fun to work with.

At our rehearsal venue early today- we always clean the downstairs part of the community centre ina Wednesday, and here is Rich (playing Grantaire and also action choreographer and armourer) is checking over the guns for the act 2 revolution scenes. We use cap guns which have been made in the style of antique flintlocks. Over the years the mechanisms can get a bit worn so they all need a check over and test firing - so that’s one of the extra behind the scenes tasks being done today before the rest of cast and crew start to arrive.
