Wanna know what I’ve been really obsessed with this #winter ? #clocking I can finally say every #mididevice #dinsync #controlvoltage unit in my #homestudio is in someway receiving it’s clock from my main #daw @ableton #abletonlive And since things like my #Jupiter8 rely on #dinsync for the #arpeggios and working with the #octatrack sometimes produces #jitter I’m feeling pretty good that I can adjust/shift the latency to whatever is coming out of my #controlroommonitors ...and if an old unit doesn’t have #shuffle #swing I can give it some. I got the @erfindungsbuero #multiclock a few years ago for #christmas I used it to sync hardware , but this the first time I went all in! Day 596 in the studio - watch the unabridged version on my Facebook page. Please give me a 'like' when you're there. This is a quick run through of how I've been approaching my new record. I set out not wanting to play to a click, but rather a grove that was reliable. In steps in an analog Roland tr606 drum machine, circa '82. I've using it a lot to drive my acoustic performances, and I believe it's helping! Inevitably the 606 will work it's way onto the record, though I am also planning on having acoustic drums augment these sounds. I'm hoping this will make for a very interesting piece of music, at least I will be learning lots as I go.
