A couple months shy of one year after buying BG3 and I have finally finished one whole game. The illithid Tav ending now has me like…

~~I'm fine. I'm mildly distressed. I can live with this. This will haunt me until the end of my days. It's just a game. It was 200+ hours of my life. Its the consequences of my actions. It's unfair. It was the best outcome for all my companions. It sucks Tav got singled out. A sacrifice had to be made, that's the reality. Reality is bullshit. I'm not that mad. I am PEEVED. I can put this save file and character to rest. I WILL MOD THE GAME TO HELL AND BACK TO DO IT ALL AGAIN YOU CAN’T STOP ME LARIAN.~~ [Repeat ad nauseum while trying to complete, normal daily tasks 🙃]

[Disclaimer: Some of this probably looks like criticism or that I didn’t enjoy the game or I’m so mad I hate it… That’s not the case. I thoroughly enjoyed playing this ABSOLUTE UNIT of a game. I had a blast. Even Act 3 in all of it’s chaotic messes. Nothing quite as satisfying than seeing the Gather Your Allies quest fill with entries and then seeing everone at the Watch Tower. 🥹

Is it a gut-punch to get to the end though and be left with two terrible choices, either become illithid and lose character/relationships or let Orpheus take the fall and screw up Lae’zel’s story? Yes. It was. It was sobering in a way I was wasn’t expecting and it hasn’t left my mind since. Kind of, unsatisfying, in a way…

But that means I get to do it all over again at some point, and, this time, there. Will. Be. MODS. 🔧😈

Astarion's story is complete.

Congratulations to all BG3 fans on the release of the final Patch 8! The story is complete, “Patch 8 will be the last game patch to introduce new content” (according to the developers themselves). I'll admit, the first thing I did after the update, was to check if Astarion was okay. And it was very pleasant to see that our Sun Lord is doing great! No new content was added, but they've already done quite a bit of good stuff for him in patch 7. It's a bit unfair, of course, that the most attractive male character in the game was deprived in terms of romance, and does not have a tender romantic line, and even a kiss and hug in the epilogue, unlike other companions. But the main thing is that Larian did the right thing and reasonably ignored the demands of haters and fans of messing up games and did not return to the game ugly bug of patch 6, which drew on the face of the player's character mimicry of a frightened victim. And no “switch” for the ability to see it in the game also did not do. And they won't. Fans of D/s romance and those wishing to add “spice” to relationships can comfortably enjoy kissing. Tav's smile in the kneeling kiss is just excellent! Perfection. For fans of classic romance and those who want to give Astarion as much love and tenderness as he deserves and really needs, there is the best mod - “Nightingale's Lord Astarion - Ascended Astarion Hugs Kisses Voiced Dialog”. I personally think this mod is just the coolest thing for all fans of Ascended Astarion, since it leaves the possibility for kissing from the original game too, and you can vary if you want. I hope that in the future, Larian will fix their issues with mod support on all platforms (it does, after all, relate to technical issues that developers have to fix, even after finalizing the game's story and gameplay), and console players will also be able to get a decent romantic fan service.

In patch 8 there are a lot of new interesting subclasses, which causes an irresistible desire to immediately start a new playthrough (I really want to try out the Swashbuckler subclass for Astarion)! And a curious photo mode. Of course, what I wanted most of all, was to change the camera angle during dialog (to bring back that wonderful angle of view that was before patch 3, when the camera during dialog remained on Astarion, and not jumped to Tav), and I was waiting for this very improvement from patch 8, but, alas, this feature was not added. But it was a loss since patch 3, and patch 8, although it did not return the lost, but added a new feature. In general, the photo mode is interesting and gives a lot of opportunities for fantasy.

Now this story is finished, and I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all those who, after patch 6, fought for Astarion and for our possibility of a happy playthrough of this game! Under the sun and with true freedom, for the right to see a happy and contented Astarion, to hear him laughing, “I feel alive, hahaha!”, banters at the mirror, happy walks in sunny Baldur, when it makes sense to fight on, when Astarion and Tav have a future that wants to be lived. And an adorable bat in the epilogue. Thank you for your letters, posts, and reviews! Thank you to the modders and youtubers for their amazing work! Without you, I would have had to leave this game with heartache, hatred and disgust. But that didn't happen. Larian listened to our feedback and arguments. With mods we have a great game that can only get better in the future with new mods. I wish everyone joyful evil and fun playthroughs, good playthroughs (helping a loved one escape from suffering - it doesn't make your Tav “evil”, it's an absolutely natural desire of any loving person, let moralists cry for every NPC they kill, if they are such moralists), gray and as far as your imagination is enough chaotic playthroughs with our beloved Sun Lord!

You don’t have to post this or anything, this is just something I’ve been thinking on and needed to rant about and your blog feels like a safe space for me.

I love Neil, he’s a great voice actor and has been so kind to his fans, but there’s something so hollow (if that’s the right word) about him talking about how good Baldur’s Gate 3 has been for representation when Larian has ignored Wyll to the point we’ve waited over a year for basic fixes meanwhile Astarion (who already has a disproportionate amount of content compared to the other companions) keeps getting new content. This newest trailer for Patch 7 is one of the first we’ve seen of Wyll and it’s him getting murdered. One of the official Larian Discord mods supported the White Wyll mod. The fandom (Astarion fans, in particular) has been so unbelievably racist to black creators and characters that there were whole graph and charts dedicated to how unsafe black people felt in the fandom. Karlach’s features were changed from more black-presenting because people would just kill her without recruiting her. Wyll and Karlach both had rewritten stories, but Wyll’s has been painfully neglected and a majority of it doesn’t even center him so much so that you can barely find any promo material of him without Mizora if he’s included at all. Not only that, but black people are attacked for rightfully criticizing and being uncomfortable with his storyline being a slave to a white woman who’s actions are excused because she’s attractive and he’s “a nice guy who knew what he was getting into.”

I understand a lot of people have felt represented by the game’s depictions of sexual assault victims, queer identities, trauma and healing, etc. but to watch Neil herald it as some kind of game that gives everyone a voice so they can feel represented when that’s only the case for people (and characters) that look like him feels ignorant at best and disingenuous at worst.

iiii do agree for sure - I'm not on twitter and as policy I don't pay attention to what the VAs say to the fans lmao but I definitely think. where the game does do a very good job in a lot of areas, the way it handles race and racism, both in-universe and metatextually, is NAWT one of its strong points (astarion's racism being played for a Bit, among other things), and there's certainly a reluctance to discuss that among the dev team (including the VAs) that feels Intentional at this point. fans have been saying this about wyll since release, and afaik no one on the team has really said anything?? again, not on twitter so I can't be sure but it is a disappointment at best, especially given the racist treatment theo solomon's received in the PR for the game.

obviously I don't know the devs - don't know what they are and aren't allowed to discuss with fans, don't know what oversight they receive or what their contracts are or what their personal opinions are, but I do try pretty hard not to take the things they say on twitter outside of formal press too seriously: I'm not one for parasocialising in that way, and the whole area makes me a but uncomfortable, especially when people take the things they say as canon and use it as an excuse to attack other fans. I know neil's been on the receiving end of some unacceptable behaviour from fans too, and I find it easier to pretend that whole arena just doesn't exist lmfao

ok, so this is a little niche but anyone who has ever modded a game/used mods (on PC) will understand. the go-to site for PC modding is nexus, and each mod creator has the option to allow comments on a file they upload. Mostly it's troubleshooting, or a space to tell the author how much you love their mod, or suggestions for future updates. but sometimes, drama can unfold (and in this case, justice can be served) one of my favorite mod creators for BG3 hasn't been able to update his mods since last year. He's posted a stickied comment on all his mods to let everyone know, so fans of his work don't think he just vanished. it's nice to be kept in the loop.

alright, that sucks but life happens. several patches go by, including the huge (and somewhat infamous) patch 7, which added an official modder's toolkit, official modding support via mod.io, and a native mods loader that you can access in game (and even download and update mods from mod.io without quitting the game) this is great for the BG3 modding community, but also terrible. Before patch 7, people still wanted to mod their game so they went to nexus of course. Tools were developed before patch 7 like the BG3 mod manager because nexus' most popular mod organization software (vortex) doesn't like BG3 (for reasons i won't go into in this post). so back to present day. patch 7 has been out for a while now, long enough that active mod creators have had plenty of time to update their mods to work with patch 7 (it broke almost everything and we all had to pretty much abandon our old saves and manually purge all mods and start modding from scratch) but, some mods continues to be broken with no fix in sight. i like to browse the "new" category on nexus so i can see mods before they appear on the "trending" page. it makes me feel like i'm getting in on future popular mods at the ground floor and it's fun to see what people come up with that never gets popular. today i was doing just that, when i came across an "update" to one of those mods i mentioned that doesn't work with patch 7. from the creator that could no longer load BG3. this person did not have permission and said as much (but would take it down if contacted by the original creator). i wrote out a comment and debated if i should post it because i'm usually a lurker. i sent this message to my partner after posting:

i expected the person who made the update to reply with some justification of why they were in the right, or that i was over-reacting, or at the very least to be ignored. i was so ready for them to push back, or that i'd opened myself up for abuse.

i sent a report to the nexus moderator team and waited. i did not have to wait long. since i am an anxious person, i refreshed the page a few times, keeping an eye out for a reply from anyone. instead i saw this:

i was floored. i stood up to someone who was doing something shady and they backed down? they didn't try to hurt me or make me feel like i was in the wrong? idk if they realized i was right and decided to change their ways, or they didn't want to deal with the impending report, or they didn't want the attention, or what. doing the right thing actually made a difference for once. i know this is on a very small scale and the BG3 community is full of pretty cool people, but in the words of Karlach, the tiefling barbarian companion: it's nice to be in a place where good is still possible. it's the little things like this, the little victories that show me that i can still make a difference. even if it's to one person at a time. i exist and can influence the world i live in, even if i feel powerless sometimes.

What’s New? Continuing our Summer of Sims, nothing says Summer like a music festival doesn’t it? Now you can experience them in The Sims! We welcome you to Sims Sessions with this update, a music festival where some of your favorite artists come together to entertain and to delight us with some of their most iconic songs. And we sure have a fantastic lineup for all of you!

Drumroll please…

Headlining the event, we have the award winning and critically acclaimed, two-time Grammy nominee, Bebe Rexha! She will be performing a magical, acoustic rendition of her song Sabotage.

Also performing we have Glass Animals, with their alternative, experimental sound that has captivated audiences across the globe. They will perform their top of the charts single Heat Waves.

Last but by no means least, is the soulful sound of Joy Oladokun! Recently deemed “2021 Artist to watch” by Amazon Music and NPR, Joy Oladokun’s words will stir all emotions and take you on a musical journey with the song breathe again.

Now that we have told you about our lineup, you must definitely NOT miss this event, I mean… Why would you? So let me tell you how to get there…

Sims Sessions will be hosted in Magnolia Blossom Park in Willow Creek on every Sunday (that is In Game Sunday), starting June 29 (TODAY) 10 a.m. PT to July 7 at 10 p.m. PT. Once Simmers load their game today (after updating the game of course) your Sims will get a message telling them about Sims Sessions (this will happen on in game Sunday in a new Save, but if you are not in a new save you will need to wait for it to be Sunday in your game after the Game Update), they will also receive a ticket in their inventory that they can view for more information and they will be able to travel to the location of the festival.

However, if your Sim is curious and absolutely cannot wait for the message, Sims can see the Sims Sessions pop up in the game in Willow Creek’s neighborhood map.

The festival venue will have vendors from which your Sims can buy merch and spots to relax and unwind while listening to amazing music.

Sims 4

Our master gardeners treated a few of our plants so they no longer reset to a previous growth stage randomly. If only life worked that way…

We fixed an issue where selected Create a Sim outfit parts on Sims were not showing up appropriately highlighted on the right side menu.

Teens generated with the Play with Genetics options in Create a Sim will no longer have Crow’s feet.

We have fixed an issue where Sims could not use stairs when Simmers deleted the floor of a fence block that was built around the stairs in the upper landing. It sounds like a mouthful, doesn’t it?

Some of our new hair colors (Neutral Black, Warm Brown, Neutral Blonde, and Light Blonde specially) were creating some issues in some Create a Sim hairstyles when applied, making Sims’ teeth disappear (?????) or turn grey in some cases.

Your Sims just LOVED their new hair colors, but noticed it also changed their eyelids and eyebrows instantly? I mean instant eyeliner is something I truly desire but we know that we needed to fix this one everyone, so indeed your Sims can no longer get automatic eyeliner and eyebrow colors from choosing a hair color.

Fixed an issue where when Sims learned about the Likes and Dislikes of other Sims their Sim Profile became blank. I mean, unless they like or dislike nothing, that is… troubling.

Get Together

Invited NPC will now leave… eventually. You know that saying that some visitors start smelling like rotten fish after a certain amount of time? We had to tell the NPCs that well, they were a problem so now they should be leaving appropriately.

Snowy Escape

I see a little silhouetto of a Sim, Skiing next to me – Omg, Omg, this is not a ghost tho? All the snow activities were really frightening me! All fixed now? Fixed now? MAGNIFICO OOOO.

If you had noticed invisible Sims doing snow activities in your game because they switched boots on the slopes… worry not, it should be fixed.

Bust the Dust

Sims with the Slob Trait can now complete the Fabulously Filthy Aspiration goal of Letting at least one floor level of your home become dirty! #goals?

"Independent Teens" Saturday Job Pack

I love my independent teens. They always want to get a job and pay for things themselves but I hate the thought of them struggling to catch up with their homework late at night.

So I did something about it. I created 12 Saturday Jobs for your teenage sims! These do not override any teen careers. There is also a bonus Community Service 'job' for your juvenile delinquents.

For these jobs to show up in game, you will need the Nraas Careers Mod. These jobs were made with Patch 1.69 and are all in English and support translations in German and Russian. If you're interested in translating this career, there are instructions at the bottom of the page.

Most of the jobs are base game compatible, however a few do rely on expansions. I give details on each career below.

There are uniforms for each of the jobs. You can edit career outfits with Patch 1.31 and above, so I highly suggest using this feature to give your Sims a uniform of your own choosing.

There are no opportunities. These are considered Part-Time jobs and cannot have opportunities.

Babysitter ~ Becoming a babysitter requires a great deal of maturity and responsibility towards the babies, toddlers and children you'll be caring for. Their parents will place a great deal of trust in you. The career is based at the City Hall and is for Teens only. There is only one level since there is little/no chance of a promotion in this kind of job. There are two custom tones; Play Games, which builds the Logic skill and Read to Sleep, which builds the Charisma skill. Requires only the Base Game. 1. Toddler Tender ~ Sometimes, parents like to take an evening off and leave their little angels in the hands of a competent babysitter. Well, that babysitter is now you! So keep your chin up, make them smile and you'll be making easy money. But try not to let the tantrums get the better of you! 5/hour 10.00am ~ 4.00pm Saturday Bartender ~ Becoming a bartender could lead to great things in the culinary fields. If you work hard and keep a smile on your face for the customers, you should be set for a great career ahead of you. The career is based at the Bistro and is for Teens only. There are only three levels since there is little chance of a promotion in this kind of job. There is one custom tone; Practice Mixing Drinks, which builds the Mixology skill. This job does promote into my Bartender Career when the sim ages up. Requires Late Night. 1. Table Cleaner ~ Wiping the tables clean seems mundane and if that's what you're thinking, then you're right. It is. But cleaning up after spilt drinks and sticky marks is important and proves your competence when it comes to the hygiene side of restaurants. 4/hour 4.00pm ~ 10.00pm Saturday 2. Waiter ~ It seems boring but lots of your friends are doing it, so it must be good! Serving the drinks to the customers is vital and working on your tableside manners is good practice for when eventually, you'll be allowed to work behind the bar. 5/hour 12.00pm ~ 6.00pm Saturday 3. Bartender ~ Your people skills are good. You're the cheery young bartender most people love to see and talk to and you're gaining skills in mixing drinks all the time. Keep up the good work, you've got some talent there! 7/hour 2.00pm ~ 8.00pm Saturday Hotel Attendant ~ Working in a hotel can be a very rewarding job. You meet a variety of interesting people from far off locations and the work is very varied. Just make sure you smile! The career is based at the Resort and is for Teens only. There are only three levels since there is little chance of a promotion in this kind of job. There are two custom tones; Answer Phones, which builds the Charisma skill and Converse With Guests, which also builds the Charisma skill. Requires Island Paradise. 1. Receptionist ~ Answering the phones and booking rooms for customers is about all you're able to do right now. But at least you're earning your own money now! 4/hour 9.00am ~ 5.00pm Saturday 2. Cleaner ~ Whether it's sweeping the dining room floor after a meal or cleaning the rooms after customers have left, the hotel needs plenty of cleaners to keep everything going. 6/hour 8.00am ~ 4.00pm Saturday 3. Waiter ~ Waiting on table during meal times. The pinnacle of hotel part time work. Just try and avoid any small children who may not like their food. 8/hour 11.00am ~ 7.00pm Saturday Lifeguard ~ If saving lives is something you see yourself doing, come along and register for training to become a Lifeguard! The career is based at the Spa and is for Teens only. There are only two levels since there is little chance of a promotion in this kind of job. There are two custom tones; Swim Lengths, which builds the Athletic skill and Perform Rescue, which builds the Charisma skill. This job does promote into my Lifeguard career when the sim ages up. Requires only the Base Game. 1. Lifeguard-In-Training ~ Every good leisure centre has a lifeguard to train up and you've volunteered for the role! You want to prove you're a competent swimmer and can easily rescue a sim in even the most dire situations. So listen up, train hard and you'll be a Junior Lifeguard yet! 5/hour 8.00am ~ 1.00pm Saturday 2. Junior Lifeguard ~ You've trained hard and qualified as a Junior Lifeguard. You've done well to get this far and it's not over yet. As a Junior Lifeguard, your responsibilities have trebled and the safety of the members of the public is entirely in your hands on Saturdays. So pay attention! 8/hour 9.00am ~ 5.00pm Saturday Modelling ~ Many young teenage sims dream of becoming popular models. For those who wish to make this dream a reality, this is their opportunity to shine. The career is based at the Theatre and is for Teens only. There are only three levels since there is little chance of a promotion in this kind of job. There are two custom tones; Do Yoga, which builds the Athletic skill and Work Out, which also builds the Athletic skill. This job does promote into my Modelling career when the sim ages up. Requires only the Base Game. 1. Jewellery Model ~ The first step for any Supermodel is usually a small one. For you, the first step is modelling the latest jewellery line. People probably won't recognise you but that's okay for now. It's a great start. 6/hour 2.00pm ~ 8.00pm Saturday 2. Advertisement Model ~ The television companies run advertisements to pay their fees. And most advertisements require a model to show off the products and you've been selected to be in the next series of advertisements. Congratulations! 10/hour 9.00am ~ 2.00pm Saturday 3. Fashion Model ~ There's a Teen Fashion Line coming out and you've been approached to model the new line for the catalogues. How exciting! 12/hour 1.00pm ~ 7.00pm Saturday Pharmacy Assistant ~ It's not stimulating work but a job at the pharmacy could lead to bigger things if you stick with it and learn all you can about the medicines available. Come and sign up today as a Pharmacy Assistant! The career is based at the Hospital and is for Teens only. There is only one level since there is little/no chance of a promotion in this kind of job. There are two custom tones; Study Medicines, which builds the Logic skill and Talk to Customers, which builds the Charisma skill. This job does promote into my Pharmacist career when the sim ages up. Requires only the Base Game. 1. Cashier ~ The first step to being able to handle medicines for patients is to take the payments and issue the receipts for them. It sounds boring and it probably is but you'll start to learn the ropes of a Pharmacy job and it's getting you work experience all the same! 4/hour 9.00am ~ 5.00pm Saturday Retail Assistant ~ Becoming a retail assistant is something most teenage sims will do at some point. It's varied and works on some very important skills for later life. The career is based at Arsil's Rabbithole 1 and is for Teens only. There are only three levels since there is little chance of a promotion in this kind of job. There is one custom tone; Talk to Customers, which builds the Charisma skill. Requires only the Base Game. 1. Stock Room Organiser ~ Organising the stock room is a job nobody really wants and that's why you?ve been hired to do it. You can't complain really, you're being paid after all. So start rummaging in those boxes ? you never know what treasures you might unearth! 5/hour 9.00am ~ 5.00pm Saturday 2. Fitting Room Attendant ~ Some of the customers have been struggling with fitting the clothes they're interested in, so the manager has hired you as a Fitting Room Attendant. So help the customers out, keep smiling and remember to say ?You look wonderful? when asked for your opinion. 8/hour 9.00am ~ 5.00pm Saturday 3. Cashier ~ Having mastered the stock room and wowed the customers in the fitting rooms, you're manning the cash register with ease. Keep that smile on your face and tell your customers to ?Have a nice day!?. 12/hour 9.00am ~ 5.00pm Saturday Stablehand ~ The stables are always looking for horse enthusiasts to help out cleaning the stables, grooming the horses and exercising them. If you love horses, this could be the job for you! The career is based at the Equestrian Centre and is for Teens only. There are only two levels since there is little chance of a promotion in this kind of job. There are two custom tones; Clean Stable, which builds the Handiness skill and Ride Horses, which builds the Riding skill. Requires Pets. 1. Yard Groom ~ You've always loved horses and now you've been offered the opportunity of cleaning their stables after them, learning to brush them and getting to know how to love and care for them. It's rewarding, if backbreaking, work and you're looking forward to it! 4/hour 9.00am ~ 4.00pm Saturday 2. Rider ~ Having learnt all there is to know about horses and their care, you're now learning to ride them! Gaining the trust between you and your equine is a wonderful experience and you're being paid now to teach others how to safely care for, and ride, the horses. 6/hour 12.00pm ~ 6.00pm Saturday Theatre Attendant ~ Assisting at the local theatre is fun, varied work which allows you to be the most knowledgeable on the latest movies and snacks. So come along and sign up. The career is based at the Theatre and is for Teens only. There are only three levels since there is little chance of a promotion in this kind of job. There are three custom tones; Talk to Customers, which builds the Charisma skill; Prepare Extra Snacks, which builds the Cooking skill and Advertise Productions, which builds the Social Networking skill. Requires University. 1. Usher ~ It's an important job but ushering at the theatre is not always plain sailing. You'll need extreme patience and impeccable manners to cope with any strops or upsets when the customers don't get quite what they want. But you can do it! 5/hour 10.00am ~ 3.00pm Saturday 2. Snack Attendant ~ Handing out snacks at the theatre would be great if you were allowed to eat them. But alas, you have to stand there and sell them to the theatre goers and hope that you can sneak a snack when nobody's looking! 6/hour 10.00am ~ 4.00pm Saturday 3. Ticket Seller ~ Time to sell the tickets to the theatre. A bit of social networking might be good here because the more people you tell about a production, the more people will come. So get the word out! 7/hour 10.00am ~ 6.00pm Saturday Tutor ~ Fancy yourself as a teacher? Then apply to become a tutor at the local school to help others. The career is based at the School and is for Teens only. There is only one level since there is little/no chance of a promotion in this kind of job. There are two custom tones; Devise New Method of Explaining, which builds the Logic skill and Help With Homework, which builds the Charisma skill. This job promotes into my Teaching career when the sim ages up. Requires only the Base Game. 1. Tutor ~ Sometimes, sims don't cope with school as well as they could and that's when their parents call for a tutor to come and help the children to catch up. Yes the printer is only about 4 months old and I used the install disc that came with it, the printer works fine it is just now Paint Shop Pro is showing it in the select twain acquire drop down and also the twain acquire to use the scanner, but when you click on it, it gives this message to be sure the USB is connected correctly (which it is), when I close that box it then says No Divice Found. I had to reinstall every thing on it, Win 7, programs, printer/scanner. We thought PaintShop Pro X9 was great, if you did too just wait till you see what we have done with our latest version of PaintShop Pro. If you need more info please let me know.Ĭorrect on the hard drive, it was the same everything, it just so happened that way and it is new. So Please and thank you are in order here. I’m pretty sure that some of you are still playing Square Enix’s previous FF online game, Final Fantasy XI. So, great news everyone as “Amelila” has released a new graphics overhaul megapack for it.

This graphics mod significantly improves the Final Fantasy XI’s textures, transforming its blurry and ugly visuals into something that is actually pleasing to the eye, that is actually able to compete with titles released a few years ago. This mod also includes optional HD Bump Maps which will greatly improve your gaming visual experience, though they require a beefy graphics card (according to the author).

The Final Fantasy XI graphics overhaul mod is 277MB in size and you can download it from here. Amelila also claimed that this megapack will always be kept updated as new mods are released, and will be distributed free of charge to everyone.

Hairstyles in the Sims. Can things ever get stranger?

Some people think thehair that comes with the base game feels a bit too bland, while some don’t like the way hair looks in vanilla Sims 4 at all.

Thankfully hundreds of modders from all over the world have created custom hairstyles to freshen things up.

It doesn’t matter if you’re looking for the hairstyles for male sims or females or even kids– you’ve come to the right place for all of it!

I’ve divided this list in two parts; the first will give you a breakdown of the best female hair mods for Sims 4, and the second part will tell you all about the best hair mods for male Sims in the game.

Choose wisely and dress up accordingly.

12. Jealousy Hair

This long hairstyle takes a spot on my list because it reminds me of one of the coolest hairstyles that already comes in the game; but it’s far better and much more detailed.

I would dare say that this mod could easily replace the one that comes with vanilla Sims 4, but some of you might prefer a more traditional look.

In any case, in terms of long hairs with a tail that runs from back to front, you’ll struggle to find one as good as this.

11. Vapor Hair

When you’re going to rate hair mods, you have to understand that transparency plays almost as much of a part as the quality of textures and the design itself.

It’s a short hairstyle that suits almost every type of lady, and the transparency between the strands feels surprisingly accurate.

10. Ominous Hair

This mod is fantastically detailed, and it offers a unique look.

Actually similar to only one hairstyle that I can recall from the game.

With a small bun on top of the head and some loose hair all over the place, this gives you a stylish look without many similar options.

There are some minor transparency issues but I’m forgiving the issues with this mod because it can’t be easy to model such a unique hairstyle; especially when loose hairs are not intended to be a thing in Sims 4.

9. Paradox Hair

This neat little hairstyle can be used by ladies of all ages, and it comes in a staggering 27 different colors to add plenty of variety to your Sims world.

Try out some of them and see which one fits your Sim the most.

This is a long hairstyle with a ponytail, and it’s detailed enough to be one of the best I’ve seen for the game.

8. Runaway Hair

Detailed and beautiful, the long Runaway Hair is by far one of my favorite hair mods to put on.

Granted, I think the hair itself looks pretty good in real life too. And that might’ve played a part on my decision.

But hey: that doesn’t take away from the astonishing level of work that went into this creation.

7. Prisma Hair

Am I going crazy, because I don’t think there’s a single hairstyle as long as this one in the base game.

I’m trying to recall but I just can’t think of any!

Those who love to see their female Sims with long hair might want to check this one out.

The level of detail is fantastic, it comes with plenty of different colors, and what’s even better is that the hair drops to the front of the body as well as a bit to the back.

Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten about short hair options.

And this one takes the cake as one of my favorites for the game.

I mostly play with male sims, I do admit that. But I have to tell you that those of you who want to see their Sims rock a short hairstyle with much more details than the ones that come with the base game are going to want to try this one out.

It can be used by Sims of all ages(starting Teen) but it does fit better on Young Adults, in my opinion. Encyclopedia britannica software download.

5. Envy Hair

Another hairstyle with a unique design, this time being one that is far more withdrawn and less loose than others.

But I figure this can work pretty well on entrepreneurs and businesswoman Sims.

It just seems like a perfect fit for them, you know?

It’s that classic short hairstyle that seemed to be quite popular in the 80s, in which the hair wasn’t really short per se… but it was made to look like it was.

A picture is worth a thousand words though – so check it out!

4. Perfect Illusion

The creator of this mod used Lady Gaga as a reference. And I think the result turned out to be quite accurate.

This hair is super complex and you’ll have a Sim rocking quite a unique style like a rockstar.

Although this type of hair is already included in the base game (or a very similar one, at least). So it may not add a totally unique twist, but it’s worth a download if it could fit with your Sim’s style.

3. Parallel Hair

Wait, braids? I mean, DOUBLE BRAIDS?

How come these are not a thing on the base game?

This one takes the classic “good girl” look to the next level by adding this fantastic hairstyle, which can be used by Sims of all ages.

The best thing about the mod is that the braids are compatible with most of the hats that your Sim can wear too.

Which means it won’t interfere with your quest of creating that hat-loving personality you’ve always wanted.

2. Eden Hair

Another extremely long hair design takes the number two spot on my list. Mainly because I really love long hairs and the base game didn’t provide us with as many options as I would’ve wanted.

In any case, this one flows like a cascade through the left side of your Sim’s body and goes all the way down to the waist.

By far one of the longest hair mods that you’ll find, and it comes in dozens of different colors.

1. Nightcrawler Hair

Look, as much as I love long hair in this game, I couldn’t really avoid putting this mod as the number one on my list.

Fantastically well detailed as well as brilliantly executed in terms of transparency and compatibility issues, the Nightcrawler hair is as modern as it is eccentric.

This hairstyle fits women of all sorts, but housewives or business ladies might look particularly good with this.

You decide, though, as this mod puts the choices in your own hands.

A simple short design that is widely used by men in today’s world, the Nicholas Hair mod makes quite a fantastic addition to the game.

Well, mostly if you’re looking to add a style that suits almost every type of serious-looking Sim.

If you’re playing with a different type, like one that looks to live more of a bohemian lifestyle, then keep reading. There’s something here for you too.

9. Haunting Hairstyles

Shorter hair on the sides doesn’t always have to be as noticeable in order for it to look stylish.

And this hair mod shows exactly why.

Hair that is well-combed is sure to attract a lot of attention, and the Haunting Hairstyles mod will add exactly that to the game.

Plus you’ll have the option to paint various colors thanks to the mod creator’s hard efforts.

8. Hair N4

If you’re into the modern hairstyles usually rocked by sports stars and celebrities, then this mod is going to fit perfectly.

There isn’t one quite like it in the main game, as most that come with The Sims tend to have either an exaggerated mohawk or simply not as much on the sides.

This cut is as balanced as it gets. And you’re going to love the way your Sim looks with it.

As many others in this list, it also comes with color options that’ll give you an extra touch of variety!

7. Like Lust Hair

Are you trying to have your Sim look better than the rest?

Are you tired of the way some of the game’s basic hairstyles look, but you still want a stylish and not-so-cartoonish hair put on top of your male Sim’s head?

This one is like an improved version of the last mod, and in my opinion it looks even better.

You’re going to love watching your Sim rock it; I’m sure of it.

It comes with custom shadowing too, which also enhances realism by a landslide compared to others on this list.

Those who have wavy hair might not feel as represented in The Sims 4 community, well as much as those with straight hair.

So it’s time to put a stop to it with the Wavves Hairstyle mod.

This modern update takes a different approach than the rest by adding hair with waves to the game.

But beware – you’re going to need a good computer to make this one look its best. But again, this is The Sims we’re talking about… not exactly a GPU hog.

5. Hysteria

Faded on the sites and very long on the right side of the head, combed to the left.

Quite a unique look, if I may say so myself.

This is the typical hairstyle in forms of modern advertising rocked by those models looking brand-new the day of the photoshoot.

Wish we could all pull this off…

In any case, the hairstyle should suit any man quite nicely. In real life or in Sims land.

4. Electric

Stylish, modern, and worthy of any businessman.

This short hairstyle looks quite good on Sims of all backgrounds.

But I have to say that it’s quite a fantastic one to try on teens or young adults. I think it fits them quite well, but I’m sure you’ll love the way it looks on any wearer.

Plus it’s free so what do you have to lose?

3. Darko

Another modern style that starts with a faded cut on the sides.

But this one has more hair atop of the head, much like the original one that comes with vanilla Sims 4.

If you look closely you’ll notice this one is far more detailed though!

2. Blackout

Feel like a true samurai with the blackout hairstyle.

Which is actually quite a longer hairstyle than you might think on first glance.

Well-rounded and a bit messy, this hair add-on definitely offers something that no other hairstyle in vanilla even comes close to.

I’m not really sure why most male models used for Sims hairstyles look so weird. But hey, I’m sure Maxis has a good reason.

Performing Arts Career

Not all my acting sims want to be rich, famous and on the big screen. Some prefer stage acting, even behind the scenes work. With that in mind, I've created a Performing Arts career. This is designed for sims who prefer acting on stage in front of an audience. This does not override the Film Career, or any other career. For this career to show up, you will need the Nraas Careers Mod . This career was made with Patch 1.69 and is in English and supports translations in German, Dutch and Russian. If you're interested in translating this career, there are instructions at the bottom of the page. The career is based at the Theatre and has ten levels. There are no uniforms for this career. You can edit career outfits with Patch 1.31 and above, so I highly suggest using this feature to give your Sims a uniform of your own choosing. There are 6 Opportunities available. Your Sim may receive a bonus on Snowflake Day if Seasons is installed. There is no boss for level 10 of the career. There are three custom tones; Practice Lines, which builds the Charisma skill (for levels 7 and 8); Adjust Cables, which builds the Handiness skill (for levels 1-4); and Rehearse Choreographed Fights, which builds the Athletic skill (for Level 5 only). From level 6 onwards, your sims can hold Autograph Sessions at the theatre. You will need Late Night and Showtime for this career to work as intended. For younger audiences, this will likely be their introduction to the Star Wars universe on the big screen - bright-eyed without prior conceptions of what to expect, who they’ll see or what may happen. It’s all new to them and it’s all fantastic. They’ll grow up and look back fondly at the time they saw Star Wars Episode 7 in the cinema when the older generations were audibly grumbling at the thought of it. The same thing happened when The Phantom Menace came out and the same thing will happen again when the re-animated corpse of Darth Plagueis rears his head 15 years from now when another trilogy is announced for the next generation of kids. Personally, I thought the sequels were incredibly lack-lustre, disappointing, and almost a deliberate betrayal to the Star Wars ecosystem they’ve built up over the years. It’s no surprise some people prefer to stick their head in the sand and just pretend they never happened. All of the characters were either unlikeable or forgettable; excusing Kylo Ren - a pale imitation of Revan. The story was poorly developed, ham-fisted, and mostly surmounted to nothing (Last Jedi particularly). There was a very clear agenda on ‘throwing away the past / wiping the slate clean’ to absolve themselves of the original trilogy and prequels. I understand that their intention was to create a fresh footing to tell new stories on but it ultimately backfired on them pretty hard, unfortunately. Red Letter Media, in particular, gave a pretty good summation on the recent movies that mostly match my opinions for those looking for a meaty analysis. Rogue One was fantastic though, congrats. [/b] Well, to be frank, I’ve been modding games since the dark ages before stable internet connections and when we used to get games on discs in magazines. It made sense to me to try and create new content for yourself where possible, whether it is custom maps/campaigns, gameplay tweaks, asset modification, rather than waiting for the next game. Games were often released as a final distributable copy rather than the evergreen update cycle we expect today and often did not receive patches outside of expansion packs.  Generally, when I make a mod it’s for personal use and may be shared with my friends at most. More often than not because the mod is an opinion piece on gameplay tweaking, or a compilation of other mods, or simply not worth uploading. Another big factor would be the fact that it was only within the last couple of years have I ever had an upload speed that could transfer information faster than a person flapping a blanket over a smokey fire. Between the Oblivion days and now, the most prominent mods I’ve released would be the shader packages for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl and Clear Sky, known as [url=https://sites.google.com/site/kingo64ssite/Home/optimised-game-shaders/stalker-shaders-max]STALKER Shaders MAX[/url], which primarily focused on improving performance and improving graphics - a necessity for my low-end 7300GT and mid-range 9600GT that I had back in the day which struggled to play the game. But yeah, mostly was just kicking back, enjoying everyone else’s mods until the creative itch started to kick in. It’s difficult to manage time with social life, work, family, friends, hobbies. [b]How did you discover Blade & Sorcery and what is it about the game that keeps you coming back? [/b] I bought it on a whim whilst growing out my VR library and was surprised by how polished and enjoyable the melee combat was, easily the defining feature of the game. The fluidity and believability of the melee combat have really set it apart from other games that have attempted it such as Boneworks and those not courageous enough to try such as Half-Life: Alyx. Even though it’s still currently a sandbox game, I’ve found it to be much more replayable than any other VR title I’ve played. I think it’s really setting the precedent on how good melee combat and item interaction should be achieved. In the VR FPS space, Pavlov VR has potential but it’s still stuck in its Counter-Strike mindset and Hot dogs, Horseshoes and Hand Grenades (H3VR) still has controls that make QWOP look like a walk in the park. Personally, I’m not really looking for online matchmaking when I want to play VR games, I kinda just want to pick it up and do my own thing - play however I want. That’s something that I’ve been able to do with Blade & Sorcery and the replayability I’d like to see in non-story driven VR titles. Each major update for the game has given us a glimpse of what to expect in the released version. The roadmap is really promising and I can’t wait to see what it develops into after it leaves early access. After many conversations with the lead developer over the past year, it’s pretty comforting to know that he shares the same opinions on gameplay design, decisions and direction as I do and I feel confident in saying that the game’s in good hands. The mod support for the game is incredible. I’m surprised by how large the modding community has become given the niche nature of the game. It’s a testament to how building a game with a positive attitude and public SDK only strengthens the community and widens the appeal, ultimately serving a more diverse and enjoyable experience for everyone. [/b] The Outer Rim (TOR) is a Star Wars total conversion mod for Blade & Sorcery which adds a humongous amount of content. There are 100+ lightsabers along with many blasters and other items to boot. The mod also includes custom maps, an optional player home, custom NPCs, and arena waves. It’s actively being developed and still has plenty of content planned and yet to be released. It is without a doubt, the largest mod available for the game with a focus on attention to detail.  If you like Star Wars, get it. If you don’t like Star Wars, try it out anyway. If you don’t have the game but have a VR setup, get the game then try this mod. It’s worth it. If you don’t have a VR setup, sorry - play it at a friend’s place? [b]The Outer Rim has been a huge success. When you initially started working on it did you imagine it would be as popular as it is?  [/b] It was pretty evident on the Blade & Sorcery Discord server that [url=https://www.nexusmods.com/bladeandsorcery/mods/528]The Outer Rim[/url] was going to be a big hit when it eventually came out. The prototype weapons I released when I was still learning the SDK and Unity, [url=https://www.nexusmods.com/bladeandsorcery/mods/280]Lightsabers U6[/url] and [url=https://www.nexusmods.com/bladeandsorcery/mods/246]E-11 Blaster Rifle[/url], were a hint of what was to come. Those mods were largely successful on their own, given that the innovation and quality of scripted weapons were not like what we have today bar a few exceptions, notably MulleDK19’s Mjolnir among others. What I didn’t expect was for my peers in real life to recognise the mod and realise I was the creator, or how wide of a reach it would have - driven by gameplay footage uploaded to sites such as Reddit. It’s pretty surreal to see yourself directly influencing your own Youtube feed when Youtubers decide to play ‘that Star Wars VR mod’. [b]Do you work alone on the project or do you collaborate with other authors? [/b] I primarily work alone on the project. There’s something cathartic in knowing that if something in the mod doesn’t meet my expectations I only have myself to blame, improve, and resolve. It’s not difficult to manage large projects such as this with many moving parts, it’s just a very time-consuming process with a large learning curve. I’ve branched out to others who I feel could do a much better job than I, namely 3D modelling and texturing. One long term collaborator of the mod is Plasma, a prominent modder from the Jedi Knight community, who has created models for the majority of the lightsaber hilts among other unreleased items from the next major version. Other authors who have contributed assets to the mod include Sakhado, uiojkl09 (Butters), Vale-X and Spongy. [b]There are a lot of mods made by others that extend The Outer Rim or add new Star Wars related stuff. Do you have any favourites? [/b] I hope I don’t get crucified for this but I haven’t actually played any of the other Star Wars mods so I can’t really answer that question well. In fact, I haven’t really had much time to play the base game as is or even my own mod outside of dev/testing. [b]Now that U8 has been released, are you planning to add any cool new force powers using the magic system?  [/b] Yep, that’s all been planned since the beginning over a year ago - with the intentions of being deeply tied into the skills tree proposed for the future version of the game, U9. There won’t be any force powers in the next major version of the mod, TOR 3, which is focused on blasters, but when I get around to it it’ll be worth it. The big backlog of stuff I have planned is daunting for me to say the least and exciting for anyone else. If you want an idea of what is to come in regards to force powers just play the Jedi Knight and KOTOR series and you’ll know what to expect. The mod got nuked essentially. There have been many challenges and issues to face with the mod that still exist today directly due to what U8 has given and what it has taken away that prevent the mod from being fully playable or meeting my expectations. I’ve been in contact with the lead developer of the game throughout U8’s release and have been trying to report and resolve issues where possible to expedite the process. I’m hoping U8.4 should be the one to fix it. Ultimately, I don’t know how big of a change U8.4 will be, what it will add, what it will do, how much it’ll break, how much it will solve. But if it turns out to be big, it might set me back a few months, who knows? It’s a big game of “are we there yet?” but the car is misfiring and billowing smoke but the kids in the back just want to get to Disneyland. [b]Do you have any advice for authors who want to create mods for Blade & Sorcery?  [/b] If you have an idea for a mod, just go out and try to make it yourself. Take it as a challenge. Yes it’ll take time, yes you’ll have difficulties, but if you put in the effort you’ll be surprised by what you can achieve and how easy it is to learn and improve. There is a vast amount of tutorials and learning material out there on Unity and modding. I encourage those with a VR setup to give the game a go, it’s a lot of fun, highly replayable, and a great place to flex those modding muscles. We’re welcoming new modders all the time and you know what they say; the more the merrier. 10. Overwatch

Remember when Bastion had his own shield barrier in the beta? Or when D.va took damage from her own ultimate? Or how about when Symmetra had a dynamic mobile shield barrier similar to Sigma’s current one? And let’s never forget when Mercy could resurrect her entire team at once… Overwatch is ever-evolving. It’s a true paradigm of modern hero-based first-person shooters that are made up of addictive gameplay, numerous play styles, and backed by a community that supports the game and keeps it alive. 9. Destiny 2

On September 6th, 2017 Destiny 2 launched and while it seemed to be an upgrade in many respects, fans felt the systems nearly perfected with the original just didn’t translate into Destiny 2. PVP teams became larger, there was an odd mod-based power level chase, and the Raid only had a single big-boss damage encounter. It was good but faltered in the endgame. Fast forward to 2019 and Bungie has made vast improvements to that original sandbox and continues to do so with their latest release Destiny 2 Shadowkeep that brings back a 3v3 PVP mode, infuses some much-needed narrative into the overall experience, and builds upon the excellent PVE changes that started with Forsaken in 2018 and continued here with a new armor system. There’s no arguing that Destiny has had its ups and downs through development, but Bungie has also done a tremendous job trying to find that sweet spot as they poke and prod the engine into a place the community is happy with. With regular updates, cross-save, and especially since they’ve gone free-to-play it’s not surprising that Destiny 2 was the number 1 paid, and free game on Steam this October. Destiny 2’s future looks brighter than ever, especially with a team as committed to getting it right as Bungie.

8. Fortnite

While we understand that Fortnite has reached market saturation and you’re probably tired of hearing about it there’s no denying that it’s been a phenomena that has made the career of several streamers and regularly brings in huge views on platforms like Twitch and Mixer. The craze may have stabilized, but that doesn’t mean Epic has slowed down their incredible in-game events like the Blackhole that shut servers down for a few days, kicked off season 2 and had children crying in their parent's arms. PUBG, Apex, Call of Duty, and Escape from Tarkov are all doing interesting things in their corner of the Battle Royale genre but for the time being Fortnite remains king.

7. Rainbow Six Siege

If you would have told me in 2015 that Rainbow Six Siege would be on bestseller lists for the next 4 years I wouldn’t have believed you. However here we are and it’s not as surprising as you might think. With constant updates, tweaks to the operators, and huge championships featuring new reveals every year, Ubisoft has managed to keep the game feeling fresh with each patch. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2019/08/26/rainbow-six-siege-operation-ember-rise-exclusive-details-raleigh-major-recap-more"] In the last year, I’ve found myself gravitating back toward Siege and having a great time learning to be a better player via the plethora of fan-made strategy videos that often manage to blend information with a bit of blunderous fun as creators poke fun at themselves (and the rest of us) for the ways we all made mistakes when starting out. Not only is there a community out there of inviting people willing to teach you the best ways to breach, but even as you’re learning you find yourself improving even when learning simple tactics like camera placement or creating a rotate between points. With the Operator grand total being brought to 52 as of last month with the addition of Kali and Wamai Rainbow Six Siege shows no signs of stopping anytime soon.

6. CS:GO

Even though Counter-Strike: Global Offensive was released on August 21, 2012, it still holds a strong reign over the competitive first-person shooter genre. While known for its competitive game mode in the esports scene, CS:GO offers casual and competitive game modes that invite a wide range of players. There is also a wide range of esports tournaments and leagues that operate all year round, which means players wanting to get into the true competitive scene of CS:GO have plenty of opportunities to do so. Whether players are looking to get into competitive play and test their skills or hop into a quick game of free-for-all or other casual game modes, CS:GO offers plenty of content for anyone to jump into. Valve has been working on updates this year to this beloved FPS title which further make CS:GO still one of the best FPS games out on the market.

5. Hearthstone

While the competitive landscape for Hearthstone may be getting old for those of us who have played for 5 years, it's actually the other modes in Hearthstone that keep the game great in 2019. Over time Hearthstone has amassed a surprisingly large single-player experience. From Dungeon Runs to Puzzle Lab, Hearthstone is nearing 10 unique single-player experiences that offer fresh alternatives to its standard gameplay. 4. League of Legends

League of Legends continues to fulfill the niche of being one of the most accessible games to the greater PC audience, while also having the depth of play to keep players coming back for more. Critically a Free-to-Play first model, anyone with a half-decent computer could download the game and play one of the distinct 146 champions in 5v5 combat. Because of this, you’re always feeling like you are playing something ‘new’, while yet still fundamentally sound.

3. DOTA 2

Dota 2 is a satisfyingly complex game; not only are there well over a hundred heroes with unique abilities to learn (with about two heroes added each year), there also tons of items and creative ways to use both to achieve the ultimate goal of destroying the enemy team's ancient. No one playstyle is absolute either, and the freedom to play creatively keeps Dota 2 engaging even if you're not interested in learning all of its heroes and roles. Constant updates and seasonal events are helpful in retaining player interest too. With so much constantly changing in the meta and an interesting professional scene to help interpret those changes, it's fun to keep coming back to DOTA 2.

2. Final Fantasy XIV

Final Fantasy XIV Game Director Yoshi-P and his team at Square Enix not only dropped one of their best expansions yet with Shadowbringers this year, but they were able to introduce a slew of big quality of life updates that improve the experiences for new and old players. Jobs were changed significantly to make combat easier and features like the Trust System are geared towards players who like a single player experience. From Square Enix’s livestream updates to community fan events, Final Fantasy XIV is a great contender for the best ongoing game of the year.

1. World of Warcraft

With over fifteen years of content updates spanning across seven expansion packs, there’s no denying that World of Warcraft is one of the largest and most popular MMORPGs out there. Before WoW came out, MMORPGs had a certain kind of gameplay formula that was quite daunting for a lot of people who were interested in the MMO genre, but the idea of hardcore grinding didn’t sit quite well with a vast majority of folks. And it worked! Nowadays, WoW is played by millions of people who have fallen in love with its world, characters, lore, gameplay systems and its fantastic raids that have all been built up over these past fifteen years. Plus, with WoW: Classic being a gateway for folks who crave Blizzard’s first (more hardcore) version of the game, there’s a version of WoW for every kind of player — past, and present.

Note: Narrowing this down to 10 entries was incredibly difficult so there we wanted to let you know about a few games that were incredibly close to making the list. GTA Online  always has someone watching the NoPixel mod community's latest role-playing antics, and Magic the Gathering Arena is starting to give Hearthstone a run for its money. There are plenty more excellent games that could make this a Top 20 like Diablo 3, Path of Exile, Warframe, Star Citizen, or RocketLeague all of which have created amazing communities that keep their game worlds exciting, interesting, and hopefully here to stay.
