What story is up next 🤞 visited on the son
lol it is visited on the son. I was working on it last night actually. These last few weeks of writing Military Brat prompts and au concepts has been a lot of fun but I’m ready to get back to my fics. I’ll do this again after the next chapter of Mama’s boy. I’ll start with the Blood Brothers request I have then go from there with whatever comes up in the meantime.
I do have a very lofty goal of finishing this chapter of Visited by Halloween but I’m not sure that’ll actually happen. I have this goal because I had the idea of Quaritch telling Spider about earth holidays and since on earth Halloween is coming up they decided to celebrate on Pandora. This would mean the recoms would have to make candy for Spider, Quaritch would help him make his costume and then everyone on base would be bullied by Quaritch into participate in trick or treat. And of course Spider would tell his friends so Kiri, Lo’ak and Neteyam would participate too. I’m just totally in autumn/halloween mode right now so ideas like this are really on my mind. Like I said I have no clue if I’ll actually be able to get this chapter out by Halloween. I’m leaning towards writing this concept as a bonus one shot and posting it here on Halloween. But we’ll see how everything shakes out.
Here’s a little snippet in the meantime
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
The music pounded through the jungle, the villagers dancing to the beat around roaring fires. The savory scents of roasting meat wafted through the air making Spider’s mouth water. He wanted to race to the feast table to get his fill but he hung back. He knew he’d only be hissed at if he took his portion before the rest of the village. Instead he sat on the sidelines watching the celebration of life, feeling an emptiness in his chest. “Spider,” Kiri screeched, running up to him, Lo’ak and Neteyam trailing after her. In her hands were two plates piled high with food. She plopped down beside Spider and handed him one. Kiri grinned at him, “this party’s fun isn’t it.”
“Yeah,” Spider half heartedly agreed. It looked fun for sure.
“Where’s your Sempu,” Neteyam asked, taking a seat.
“Over there,” Spider pointed to his father and his team awkwardly standing on the edge of the festivities. Sempu stoically watched. A few of his friends moved to the music as if they were embarrassed to actually dance. “Jake said if they tried to join the party then one of Ro’awn’s sons might pull a knife on them. Sempu said I could go have fun but everyone seemed angry with me…”
“They just have sticks up their butts!”
“Kiri,” Neteyam huffed, shocked at his sister. Lo’ak giggled.
“Well they do! Spider is the funest person I know. If they won’t let you join the party then we’ll have a party right here!”
“Yeah!” Lo’ak cheered.
Spider smiled, the emptiness he’d felt only moments before, being replaced by warmth. “So what are we going to do first,” Spider asked, turning to Kiri.
“First we feast!” Kiri held her cup high in the air, “and then we dance!” The boys all held their cup up, then they all drank as one. After enjoying their meal they danced themselves silly, spinning in circles until they were dizzy, jumping to the rhythm, racing around each other. After hours the children finally tired, collapsing to the ground, sweating, breathless, and ecstatic.

do you have any useless fun facts about any of the characters in ur fnaf au ... doesnt matter how small or uninteresting they r i think its the funest part in making an au tbh
YESS I have many
Specifically for ScSiB because I'm crazy
A bunch of super irrelevant fazbear employees are characters I like to reuse. Nora Pacheco avoids any and all customer interaction, Anna Kwento is only good with kids because she can discipline them, Mark Cho has an unrequited crush on his coworker Raha but is totally aware she doesn't have romantic interest and likes being her friend, Raha Salib's favorite color is purple and she wears a lavender hijab most of the time, and they're the first ones to notice Glamrock Freddy is being fucking weird.
Vanessa and Valentine were naturally blonde as kids, but their hair darkened when they grew up. Valentine prefers brown hair, but Vanessa lightens her hair.
Gregory has somniphobia. He gets so terrified about sleeping. He snacks a lot to keep his energy up, and tries not to fall asleep unless he is completely alone and unfindable.
Valentine likes pastel/kidcore fashion. She doesn't have a lot of confidence in how she dresses, though, until Glitchtrap comes along.
As for Vanessa, I don't know what kind of fashion she likes, but the love of cutesy things is Valentine. There's kind of a split between Vanny and Vanessa as entities to create Valentine, and as such, Valentine has some of Vanessa's traits (positive, feminine, liking cute things, being kind of friends with Luis).
Vanessa's favorite kind of pizza is cheese. Gregory will eat any kind, but when given the choice, he prefers sausage. Valentine likes cheese too.
Gregory hates pickles.
All of the Brooks kids are trans in some way. Gregory is a trans boy, Vanessa is... girl in a genderqueer way?, and Valentine is.... genderqueer in a girl way??? I don't know how to explain it
Valentine loves sweets, so does Gregory. Vanessa likes them too, but is super careful about watching her weight.
VR makes Gregory super dizzy. This is from constant dehydration more than anything.

The wife who readily understands the nullity she has become for her husband often smothers her misery in silence, for the sake of her darling family. Do not flatter yourself that you will enslave the man to whom you will bind your fate … Do not give yourself up to your new passion, combine it with your ordinary tasks, solitude is disastrous for a woman in love, do not rush into marriage, I can picture you alone and without experience, perhaps running the same risks as I did through excessive tenderness.
–– Félicité Brissot, letter to her sister Nancy, 1792
As wives, their nullity is more complete, if possible; indeed, though learned and brave, the wife of a fool and a coward will never enjoy any consideration, for the consideration given her is bound up with that shown to him, who deserves none; as a mother and a widow, she is still confined within the narrow bounds of domestic duties; if she is rich, she will at best be privileged to do without a steward and to be her own first housekeeper! Why equip ourselves to do great things when we are doomed to do small ones only!
–– Footnote to the anonymous French translation of Mary Wollstonecraft’s Vindication of the Rights of Woman
In eighteenth-century French, the substantive nullité was used overwhelmingly in a legal context. The 1771 edition of the Dictionnaire de Trévoux has no other acceptation. Nullité is only attested in the sense of ‘what is valueless’ from 1747 and in the sense of ‘worthless person’ from 1812 (1798 in the Dictionnaire de l’Académie française)—though, admittedly, there was always a time-lag between usage and the record of new words and phrases in dictionaries. Still, Félicité Brissot’s choice of word is bold; it would have stood out for her readers—both her sister and the readers of the Défense. She was at pains to make it clear that a woman and a wife can be erased, nullified.
–– Isabelle Bour, Who translated into French and annotated Mary Wollstonecraft’s Vindication of the Rights of Woman? (2022)

Hello! I see you do paleography--any assistance you could offer with some papers I found in a 1921 French textbook teaching Latin? The book and papers seemed to have belonged to an Henri Lacasse, but that's as far as I've gotten in reading them (I guess it also doesn't help that I don't speak French).
Hi there, no problem at all! Sorry for only getting back to you now.
Not speaking French shouldn't bother you, as two out of the three slips of paper are in Latin.
What is it?
What you have here by the looks of it are grammar and/or translation exercises from the book which were collected and graded as tests by young Henri's teacher. I'm fairly confident that the numbers on the top of each slip of paper (119, 122 and 199 respectively) either refer to a page number or the number of an individual exercise within the book. The little T below is short for test (same word as in English), probably.
While I know that in modern-day France, marks are given according to a scale from 0 to 20 points (0 being the lowest, and 20 the highest mark achievable), I have no idea if the same system was in use in 1920. In fact, guessing from the due to the lack of corrections seemingly flawless example in the middle marked 10.0, my first assumption would be that 10 was the highest mark back then, but maybe we have a knowledgeable French person reading this who might be so kind as to help us out here?
Identifying the Script
Back to the text: what we're dealing with here is a case of garden-variety cursive (reminiscent of D'Nealian, I'd say) as is taught in schools until this very day with the slight difficulty that kids' handwriting usually isn't the most pristine and even teachers sometimes struggle to read a particularly bad scrawl.
Problems while Transcribing
And honestly, I struggled, too, particularly with the Latin. I have in fact an official certificate attesting to my Latin proficiency, but in a few cases, I had no idea what words Henri tried to write.
The Transcriptions
A peculiarity I noticed in all three is the sentence J. M. J. aidez-moi written into the top left corner of each test. Any chance the book, any entries or additional papers might reveal to us who J. M. J. might be? Apparently, Henri needed a helping hand.
The first one seems to be a translation exercise French to Latin, starting with a piece of health advice, if you will:
Aer montantis est acer et salubris, adversus
pestilentiam firmitas corporis et enra[?] diligens
valetudinis multum prodest. Boelium fuit
From the harsh and healthful mountain air, let’s turn to the second text. This seems to be a translation exercise French to Latin with a focus not on translating a text in a coherent manner, but gaining an understanding of grammatical structures, particularly making comparisons using “quam” (as). Two of my favourite examples from this exercise are the first ("Old wine is pleasanter than new wine") and the third ("A goat is more agile than a sheep").
The third exercise seems to be a text translation Latin to French, concerning two famous orators and Philip of Macedon, father of Alexander the Great:
Les discours de Démosthène, l’orateur de plus
illustre des Grecs sont plus difficiles pour plusieurs
élèves que les discours de Ciceron [sic.], l’orateur le plus
illustre des anciens Romains.
Rien ne fut plus funeste aux Grecs, rien ne fut
plus agréable à Philippe que la discorde des villes
grecques. La guerre est le plus attristante de tous
les malheurs, La Paix est la meilleure [...]
Translation: The speeches of Demosthenes, the most illustrious of the Greek orators, are more difficult for many students than the speeches of Cicero, the ancient romans’ most illustrious orator. Nothing was more portentous to the Greeks, [and] nothing was more pleasing to Philip than quarrels among the Greek cities. War is the most saddening of all evils, peace is the best […]
I hope I could help you and you have fun with your find. If I may ask, how did this awesome little piece of history find its way to you?
And (perhaps a question to the wider audience of two other people interested in the topic) having read up on the history of cursive being taught in schools out of curiosity in connection to your ask, is it true that cursive is no longer taught in many places in the US? It still is being taught to school-aged children where I live, and I am quicker writing in cursive by hand than typing. That said, similar accusations have been made against my hand to those I made against Henri's... ;-)
Edit:
thank you to the marvellous @echo-bleu, who helped me find the missing French word! I've altered the transcription accordingly.
They were also helpful in providing a glimpse into the French education system; it seems the 0-10 scale was used in schools historically and was only partially replaced by the 0-20 scale.
Today, minor tests, and activities in primary schools are still graded using the 0-10 scale.
Another thanks goes out to @sharkyle for informing me that apparently, in some places in the US, cursive is not being taught anymore for eight years.
Edit 2:
Thank you, @graindedune! That's a really, really good interpretation that utterly escaped me! I think you are right there, as it makes a lot of sense. Thanks for sharing!

Amusement Park Prize (Mira x Lucy)
"Come on, Lucy!"
Mira begged her girlfriend while they sat next to each other in class. Lucy shook her head, saying, "you know I'm not interested in Amusement Parks. They're too loud and crowded, and there aren't a lot of rides I'd even go on. Plus, the lines are always a mile long and the games are all rigged."
Mira pouted. She and Lucy had been dating for a few months now, and all of their dates were in parks, at coffee shops, or at movie theaters. She wanted to go some a bit more fun. When she heard from Lisanna that the annual amusement park was swinging around tomorrow, she decided that it would be the perfect date night. However, she didn't think that convincing her girlfriend to go would be so difficult.
She felt Lucy rest her hand on her shoulder and heard her say, "we can do something else, Mira. How about we go see that new movie that Evergreen and Elfman saw? They said that it was really good, didn't they?"
Mira shook her head, exclaiming, "but I want to go to the amusement park! It'll be fun, I promise!"
Lucy sighed, "well, I don't like them."
"Have you ever even gone to one?"
"Yes, once, and it was terrible. I don't want to go to another one that'll just be a disappointment."
"But, Lucy, this one is amazing! Everybody in school goes every year! It's the best amusement park in Fiore, so I know that you'll enjoy it!"
Lucy opened her mouth to speak when Natsu dragged over a chair and loudly asked, "what are you two talking about?"
Mira was the one who answered, "I'm trying to convince Lucy to go to the amusement park with me."
Natsu's eyes lit up at the mention and grabbed Lucy's shoulders, shaking her as he practically yelled, "you need to come, Luce! That place is awesome! It has the fastest rides you can imagine, the funest games, and, best of all, the greatest food to ever exist!"
Mira giggled as she watched Lucy try to get out of her best friend's grasp before she got whiplash. The blonde then responded, "I don't know. Is it usually crowded?"
Natsu answered, "not really. It's big, so you shouldn't be bothered by anyone."
Mira looked to the front of the room and saw Erza and Gray. She called over to them and, when they looked at her, she waved them over to the back of the classroom. When the pair arrived, she explained, "I'm trying to get Lucy to come to the amusement park with me tomorrow. Lend a hand?"
Erza and Gray both smiled. The redhead praised, "you really should try it, Lucy. It has something for everybody, I can assure you. If you don't like fast rides, then it has calmer ones. If you don't like rides at all, then you give the games a try. They are a lot of fun to play."
Gray chimed in, "yeah! The food is great too. It's so much fun, even Laxus likes to go."
As Lucy hummed thoughtfully and stared down at her desk, Mira clapped her hands together in front of herself, right underneath her chin. She smiled at her girlfriend, blue eyes sparkling with hope. Her silent pleading was impossible to miss.
She watched with delight as Lucy sighed and relented, "alright, Mira, we can go to the amusement park together."
Mira cheered as she wrapped her arms around her girlfriend and planted a big kiss on her cheek. She was determined to make sure that Lucy had a great time tomorrow.
The couple walked through the ground of the amusement park, occasionally seeing some of their friends. Natsu and Gray were going on roller coasters and seeing who would get sick first, it was always Natsu, while Erza waited for them on the ground, eating whatever strawberry-flavored treat she had managed to find. Lisanna and Juvia quickly joined them. Evergreen and Elfman were going on the Tunnel of Love together while Laxus, Freed, and Bixlow competed against each in some games. Levy was pulling Gajeel along, the large man complaining the entire time. They also saw Wendy and Romeo, who were both heading into the Maze of Mirrors after Romeo's father apparently got lost and needed help getting out.
Mira looked at her girlfriend, asking, "so, what do you wanna do first?"
Lucy shrugged, causing Mira to frown. The white-haired woman looked around, searching for something that they could do. More specifically, she was looking for a game that looked interesting, guessing that playing a game would be the best way to get Lucy into the park.
She quickly spotted a game that had a prize that she knew Lucy would love. She grabbed her girlfriend's hand and pulled her toward the game before she pointed up at the prize and asked, "what do you think of that?"
She watched as Lucy looked up at the prize. It looked like a snowman, with a white body with an orange, horn-like nose that resembled a carrot. When Lucy's eyes lit up upon seeing it and she grinned, Mira placed some jewel onto the stand and asked to play.
The carny smiled at her as he explained the game, "all you have to do is knock down all of these clowns with that water gun. If you can manage that, then you can have any prize you choose."
Mira nodded and took up the water gun, resting the butt against the front of her shoulder. She waited for the wooden clown figures to start moving before she began shooting water at them. She silently thanked Laxus for teaching her to win when they were dating a few years ago.
'Just aim for where the freaky clown think is going to be,' he had told her. She did just that, picking a clown figure to shoot down and aiming at where it was heading. Once it got close enough, she pulled the trigger, a large burst of water knocking it down.
It didn't take her long to knock down all of the targets. She listened to Lucy clap beside her as she pointed at the large, stuffed toy and announced, "I'd like that one, please."
She quickly accepted the toy from the carny and handed it to Lucy, watching with delight as her girlfriend proudly proclaimed, "I'll name it Plue! Thank you so much, Mira!"
Mira giggled and entwined her fingers with Lucy's, saying, "of course, Lucy. Now, how about we go try the Ferris Wheel next? The line is never very long around this time."
With that, the couple was off to the aforementioned ride, later sharing a kiss when they reached the top.

«Forget me not» - Sabo x reader
Summary : Sabo comes back after a mission only to find out that Y/N died a few days prior to that. Nobody told him out of fear of destabilizing him. Warnings: This is very angsty. Death. Tw.
A/N: Feel free to skip this part. This piece is REALLY emotional to me. I wrote it in this spot (click :D) . Pink petals were falling on me as I cried and typed those world, putting all my pathos and angst into them. Then, suddenly, rain started pouring. Prepare your tissue paper and enjoy.
**********************
You came into my life like a breeze, only to fade to dust.
Do I wish I have never met you ? Do I wish you have never came into my life if it was to leave me this way ?
Am I this weak, am I a coward, am I an excuse for a human being ?
If it meant that you didn’t die that day, away from my sight...
Then yes. I wish that our paths have never crossed.
Then you would be full of life somewhere, next to someone else...Someone else that isn’t me, but you would be breathing, the sun would be shining, my world would be turning, knowing that you, my sunshine, my universe, are alive.
Maybe in another life, maybe in another dimension I would be able to make it up to you. To get on my knees and beg your pardon for not being there for you.
If only I could touch you, If only I could see your face, my angel, one last time. Just one time.
If only. If only. If only.
If only I have been there to save you. If only I have been there to hold you in my arms, to apease the pain you must have felt. To carry the burden off your frail shoulders. To hold your little hand in mine as you took your last breath.
You left me without a goodbye, maybe because you knew that I would have died with you that day ? Maybe because you didn’t accept to say goodbye to me anyway ? How brave of you. How thoughtful.
But this thoughtfulness is what is killing me today because I can’t see your sweet smile. Because I can’t kiss those soft lips, my nectar, the only thing that was keeping me alive.
Once again I wasn’t there.
---------------
« (Y/N) ! I am back ! That mission is finally done-- everyone, I am back. Where is (Y/N) ? Why is everyone here ? Why is everyone dressed up in black ? »
It was fall, the perfect season to die. The sky was clouded, the trees were shedding their leaves, ready to die and to be reborn. Sabo came back from a one month mission on a far island. The mission was conducted successfully, he was holding a flower bouquet, white lilies, your favourite flowers. What funest flowers, he always found your tastes a bit eerie.
The flower of chastity, the flower of death.
But he wasn't aware at that time, he didn't know about the symbolism of these flowers just like he was ignorant of what tragedy has happened.
Everyone was in the hideout, Dragon, Ivankov, Hack, Karasu, Koala...Everyone but you. They were all dressed in black, as if they were mourning. A gloomy beam was floating around the castle, as if it was souless.
They looked at eachother, as if they were waiting for someone to talk, to say a word. Koala was the first to come closer to him. Tears started running down her eyes ;
« -(Y/N) won't be able to greet you Sabo...(Y/N) passed away two days ago...All my condoleances. »
At that moment, earth started rotating, he saw his whole world collapse, shredded into a myriad of lily petals. At first, nothing came out, not even a sound. Then came a laughter, a mad, insane laughter. Not one of disbelief, no, but one of refusing to believe.
One of a man trying to fool himself. One of a man that smelled death but decided to be both blind and deaf.
« (Y/N) ? (Y/N) come one, I know that you are hiding haha. You can't be pranking me like this ! Koala, you almost got me here. Where is (Y/N) ? I really want to see her. »
The young woman pinched her lips, her voice was nothing but a long and painful sob ;
-Sabo...(Y/N) is not here anymore. She caught the red plague when we were on our way to the island. She...We couldn't do anything for her ! I am so sorry Sabo...I am so sorry...
-Koala....He put his hand on her back in disbelief, then started shaking her, Everyone, come on say something ! She can't be dead. It's not true. She can't be dead.
Then, all I could remember was white, immaculate white, an omnipresence of white, a color that I was starting to hate. The same white of your favourite flowers, the same white that snatched you away from life. The same white enveloping the body of the dead. The white of the shroud.
And I could swear that I saw you, that I head your voice calling for me from afar.
« Sabo..Sabo... »
But it wasn't you.
His eyes were extremely heavy. His first reflex was to look for you next to him, but you weren't there. It was Koala.
« Thanks god. I had a terrible nightmare, Koala. »
He looked for something, anything in the big, blue eyes, he didn't know what he looked for, but whatever it was he didn't find it. She looked down and said ;
« I am sorry it wasn't a nightmare Sabo....(Y/N) left this letter for you. I..will leave you alone now..Please do call me when you need me, alright ? » She says with a gentle smile and closes the door behind her.
With shaky hands he takes the letter. He brings it to his lips like it's a substitute to your body. Your perfume was still on it. Your writing was cursive and shaky, he almost didn't recognized it.
« (…)
And from my ashes, I want to be reborn like a phoenix, my phoenix. Do you remember ? It's how I called you once we found each other...I thought you were dead, and there you were born again, like a beautiful mythical bird, from the ashes.
I want you to spread mine at sea, Sabo. This way I will be always immortal. Always.
Don't shed a tear for me, this is how it was meant to be.
And because my life stops here, I want you to have a happy life.
I want you to live two times longer, laugh two times harder...Once for you and once for me.
I want you to continue further. I want you to live and I want to live within you, so please don't die Sabo.
I will be immortal as long as you don't forget me.
Don't forget about me Sabo. People don't die when they cease to exist, people die when they are forgotten.
Don’t forget about me, Sabo. »
And then he cried, for the first time you made him cry but not being here anymore. He wanted the only tears to shed for you to be ones of joy but they were tears of grief.
He couldn't comprehend it, that now he will never hear your voice calling for him anymore. That he won't get to caress your hair no more.
Why did you leave me alone ? Wasn't it easier to take me with you ? Why did you deny me of seeing you just one more time ? Why didn't anyone tell me ?
It wasn't sadness, it wasn't anger, it was a whole new feeling that he didn't know existed, a feeling that made him wish he were six feet under the ground.
It was raw, a feeling of irreality. It didn't make sense. How dare anyone live and not you ? How could you, his darling, die out of everyone else ?
How strange to think that only a month a way you were in his arms, and now all he could embrace was the void, your lack.
He was just starting to get over Ace's death. He was just starting to live for you. For your dreams of a happy family, for your childish ways, for your lighthearted teasing, for your burning kisses.
But nothing of this remained but a piece of paper with shaky handwriting and a room full of memories.
For days the memories lived within him, he swore he could've seen you by the frame of the door. He woke up in sweat searching for you only to discover your absence. Your memory was now a burden and the fear of forgetting even more.
« Don't forget about me, Sabo. »
And there he was, in the ocean, spreading what remained of you in the waves. Lilies were floating. White lilies....If only you could reborn from your ashes like a phenix.
He didn't know how to swim but it didn't matter. He felt himself sink in the water, disappearing, merging with your ashes, making one with you.
*********************
« Don't forget about me, Sabo. »
It has been two years now. Two years and the handwriting seemed both foreign and familiar. It has been two years since (Y/N) died, but he didn't remember.
« Don't forget about me, Sabo. »
He reads again, trying to get a recollection of your face, but he couldn't.
What only remained what a vague feeling of déjà-vu when he saw white lilies and a strong guilt for a death that he has never caused.
« Don't forget about me, Sabo. »
No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t remember.

Voltaire writes back to Frederick...
... whom he hasn’t been in regular contact with for more or less four years.
Frederick had refused Voltaire’s asking for permission to go back to Potsdam in late 1753; avoided writing to him directly but let Abbé de Prades take up the correspondence; wrote and published a satirical ‘Portrait of M. de Voltaire’ in 1756.
Despite all the name-calling (fou, méchant, ~extraordinare~, etc.) to third parties, all the prayers to heaven that Voltaire never comes back, on Jan 19th 1757, Frederick wrote a ‘tender letter’ to Voltaire, days after Russia declared her entrance into the war.
At some point in summer 1757, with Frederick’s first major defeat at the Battle of Kolin, his mother’s death, the Prussian retreat from Bohemia, he fell into a deep depression (a haunting representation painted by Menzel) and meditated suicide. Either encouraged by Wilhelmine or voluntarily, he wrote to Voltaire, thus virtually reopened their regular correspondence.
The letter hasn't been found since (as the Jan 19th one, & many others from this period), but those survived still help construct a sense of it, as well as the brief personal warmth shown between Voltaire & Frederick - both said they couldn’t care less.
Here is a collection of some extracts which I like and hope can serve to paint this exchange of letters between F & V, with Wilhelmine as their mediator, in a somewhat clearer light. These are from letters written from July to December 1757 by Voltaire, Wilhelmine and Frederick. All originals are taken from Edition Garnier & Œuvres de Frédéric le Grand. Translations are mine. Emphasis in texts are made by me. my english and french are both not so good, but i try;; so feel free to critique my usage of words etc.!

My dear marquis, see me as a wall breached by two years’ misfortunes. I am shaken on all sides. Domestic misfortunes, secret afflictions, public misfortunes, looming calamities: these are my food. Do not think that I have given away, however. Must that all elements perish, I will bury myself underneath their debris, with the cold-blood with which I am writing to you.

[Frederic wrote to Voltaire at some point in mid-august 1757, sent to him at Les Delices in Geneva via Wilhelmine.]
I am in an awful state, and I will not survive my house and my family’s destruction. This is the only consolation left for me. You will have handsome subjects of tragedies to work on. O time! O morals! You will perhaps make tears pour down by an illusory representation, while people contemplate on the misfortunes of a whole house with a dry eye against that which, deep down, they do not have any real pity for.

The king of Prussia started to write to me with some trust again. He tells me that he resolved to kill himself if he is without resource; and madame la margrave his sister writes that she would end her life, if the king her brother ended his own.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The affairs of this king, my old disciple and my old persecutor, have gone from bad to worse. I do not know if I had told you about a letter that he wrote me about three weeks ago: I learned, said him, that you were interested in my successes and my misfortunes; it only remains to sell my life dearly, etc., etc. His sister, the margrave of Bayreuth, writes me a much more lamentable one.
Go, harden up, my heart, nothing of human weaknesses.
[note: the last line is a quote from Molière’s Tartuffe, Act IV, Scene III. vendre cher sa vie means to kill a number of enemies before one’s own death.]
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Madame, I was brought to tears by the letter Your Royal Highness honored me. [...] Will I be allowed to put this letter under your protection, which I dared write to His Majesty the king your brother? [...] I would like that he be persuaded of his personal merit: he is at a point where many people of all ranks respect him more as a man than as a king. Who would feel better than you, madame, what it is like to be superior to one's birth!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
My dear sister, [I] just received your letter of the 6th, with Voltaire's enclosed. [...] I beg you to reassure your mind; your worries are dear to me, certainly I am sensible of them, and I regard you as the only example of perfect friendship in this corrupted century; but, one does not change destiny by worrying, and in the circumstances where one must expect everything, we must prepare ourselves for all events.
[last time Frederick wrote ‘this corrupted century’ to Wilhelmine was in 1730, from Cüstrin.]
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
La margrave de Baireuth à Frédéric, (15 septembre 1757)
[note that the letter F wrote to V, which Wilhelmine speaks of, was a reply to V’s late august response, likely dated around September 9th, sent in the same package to Wilhelmine.]
My dearest brother, your letter and that which you wrote to Voltaire, my dear brother, have almost made me dead. What fatal resolutions, great God! Ah! my dear brother, you say that you love me, and you plunge a dagger into my heart. [...] Your fate will decide my own; I will survive neither your misfortunes, nor those of my house. You can count on this being my firm resolution.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Voltaire à Frédéric. Octobre 1757.
[...]; I belonged to you, my heart will always belong to you.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Voltaire à Frédéric. Octobre 1757.
You want to die; I do not speak to you here of the painful horror this plan inspires in me. [...] Listen to your superior reason against these sentiments; it [would] tell you that you are not at all humiliated, that you cannot be; it would tell you that being a man, like any other, there would remain for you (whatever happens) all those things which can make other men happy: possessions, dignities, friends.
[...] soon I will be in my sixty-fifth year, I was born to be sick; I only have a moment [more] to live; I have been very unhappy, you know that; but I would die happy, if I left you on earth putting what you had so often written into practice.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
I laughed at the exhortations of Voltaire the patriarch; I take the liberty to send you my response. As for stoicism, I believe myself to have more than he does, and as for the way of thinking, he thinks in poet, and I think as suited to the post which the accident of birth placed me in.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Believe me, if I was Voltaire, /and private person like him, /content with necessities, /I would see frivolous fortune flutter, /and make fun of it right at this moment.
[you send him an epistle, and say he thinks like a poet. fair enough]
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overwhelmed by the ills of mind and body, I can only write you a little letter. You will find one enclosed [Frederick's letter from Oct 9th] which will reward you a hundred times more than my brevity. Our situation is always the same: a tomb makes our destination. Although all seems lost, there still remains for us things which cannot be taken away: firmness and sentiments of the heart.

[Frederick won the Battle of Rossbach on November 5]
Voltaire à M. le comte d'Argental. Au Délices, 19 novembre.
Luc had no more than twenty-five thousand men, also they were exhausted by marches and counter-marches. He believed himself to be lost without resources a month ago; and so wholly, so completely lost, as he wrote to me; and it's under these circumstances that he destroyed an army of fifty thousand men. What shame for our nation!
[Luc: cul: ass. i.e. Frederick.]
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is it possible that people imagined I am interested in the king of Prussia? Good lord, I am very far from that. There is no mortal in the world who wishes more for success for the present situations [of France]. I tasted vengeance by consoling a king who had mistreated me; it only depends on M. de Soubise that I console him more.
[if we make him cry more i get to hug him more. O sweet vengeance!]
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Frederick won the Battle of Leuthen on December 5]
When the Prussians are killing so many people, I must also assassinate you with letters, my dear angel. It is difficult for you to know sooner than us Swiss, about the new victory of the king of Prussia, near Neumarck in Silesia. This devil of a Solomon is a terrible Philistine. Legend says he is already in Breslau; but legend must not always be believed.
[in the 18th century philistine is perhaps used to say someone is merciless & bloodthirsty.]

I had chosen not to include a sub-plot in which Voltaire tried to connect Marechal de Richelieu with Frederick to negotiate peace between France and Prussia - which was fruitless.

Fun In LA
Colby Brock x Reader
Warning(s): None that I’m aware of
Summary: Colby Brock accuses you of never having any fun and decides it’s up to him to show you what fun in LA really means.
(Gif by @starrybrock )
You crept into the Trap House at the early hour of 8 am, taking in your surroundings as you balanced the tray of Starbucks in your hand and the bag of donuts under your arm.
The house was silent, confirming to you that all of its occupants were either still asleep or hadn’t made it out of bed yet.
It wasn’t surprising to you, of course. The boys rarely woke up before noon on a regular day, but the fact that it was a Sunday and they had partied, according to one of their Instagram stories, ‘like fucking animals’ came into account as well.
You pulled your key out of the lock before you realized that they were right. The house was a mess.
You let out a quiet laugh and shook your head. You'd been the Trap Boys' assistant for a little over two months now and you loved them, of course. Corey insisted on teaching you how to dance even though you'd tried your hardest to convince him you couldn't, Jake could make you laugh by just walking into the room, if he was trying, Sam enjoyed your company and practically sang your praises when you helped him with the more serious stuff, and Colby very nearly relied on you to remind him to do stuff and would always be the first to joke with you and invite you to stuff.
You walked into the kitchen and were surprised to see the boy standing at the fridge. He had ridiculous bedhead and was only wearing a pair of sweatpants that hung low on his hips. He turned to look at you when the donut bag rustled as you set it on the counter.
"You’re up early," You commented, picking up his cup. “Coffee?”
Colby let out a groan, shutting the fridge and taking the cup from you. "You're a goddess."
You laughed. "It's what you pay me for."
He rolled his eyes as he took a long sip, reaching for the donut bag and examining its contents.
“Got about every kind. I’m still not sure on what donuts are your guys’ favorites.” You said as you set your purse on the table.
“We’re not picky,” Colby replied, pulling out a chocolate covered donut and biting into it.
Conversation with Colby was always easy. He never took things too seriously, but also didn’t always feel the need to crack a joke. It was simple and you found yourself talking to him quite regularly.
“How was the party?” You asked, making your way around the kitchen to silently tidy it up.
Colby shrugged, watching you lazily. “Fun. Would’ve been better if you were there.”
“Ha ha,” You replied, tying up the old garbage and replacing it with a new bag. “You know that’s not my scene.”
“And I don’t see why not. Do you ever do anything besides work?”
“I enjoy my work.”
Your job was fairly easy and was always changing. Sometimes you’d be a cameraman, sometimes you tagged along to meetings, sometimes you helped them organize their bills or other expenses, and sometimes is was things as simple as putting gas in their cars. You never knew what to expect from them and that’s partially why you enjoyed the job so much. That and how fun all the people you got to interact with were.
"That doesn't answer my question."
Ignoring his comment and the way he was staring at you, you pulled another couple trash bags from the roll. "Since you’re Mr. bright and early today, you get to help me clean up.”
He shook his head at you but took a bag from your hands. "Seriously, you should come to the next one, have a little fun."
"I wouldn't know anyone."
"You'd know us."
"I don't really drink,"
"Don't have to to have a good time."
You dumped out two red solo cups into the sink and disposed them into his trash bag. "What do you want from me, Colby?"
"I want you to have some fun."
You scoffed at him, grabbing another four cups from the table.
"I’m serious, Y/N. When was the last time you did something a little dangerous or even just for fun?"
"I have fun with you guys all the time."
"You know what I mean."
You sighed, shoving a pizza box into the bag. He was staring at you with those piercing blue eyes and it was hard to ignore him when you knew he wasn't going to drop the subject until he got what he wanted.
"Not since I moved out here," you admitted.
"What?" Colby seemed taken aback by your answer. "You're kidding, right?"
You shrugged. You were trying to live in LA. You had to eat and pay your bills; you didn't feel like you had time for fun.
"That’s insane! You’re in like- the funest city and you’ve never even tried?”
You started making a stack of empty cups. “It’s not that I haven’t tried. I just...don’t know anyone out here. I’m not like you and Sam, I came out here all on my own on my own dime and before I had this job I was living off a barista and a bartender salaries. Fun didn’t come easy.”
Colby’s frown only deepened at your words. You could see the wheels turning in his head as you dumped the stack into his trash bag. You’d come to learn it was never a good sign when he was quiet.
“Colby?” You said cautiously, looking up at him.
His eyes were locked on you, focused and unwavering. The heat rose to your cheeks as you looked down at the floor and moved to grab your trash bag.
He grabbed it before you had a chance.
"Colby!"
"No, nope, unacceptable. I refuse to let you continue living your life like this."
You scoffed. "You're being ridiculous,"
He swung the bag out of your reach, holding it above his head.
"Colby! Seriously, I need to get this place cleaned up."
“No! Not until you agree to have some fun!”
“When?” You retorted, mildly annoyed with his antics. “With who? Where?”
“With me!” He exclaimed. “One month. Give me one month to show you how much fun LA can be and by then if you don’t ever want to have fun again, I’ll drop it.”
You narrowed your eyes at him. “What’s your game, Brock?”
“No games or deal’s off, okay?”
You considered for a moment. You knew he wasn’t going to let this go. Plus he was basically your boss, you kinda had to do what he says. Not that you thought he would fire you if you didn’t agree, but still. Even so, a whole month of Colby trying to convince you to let loose and have fun. What could go wrong?
A lot. You thought.
But your mouth betrayed your thoughts. “Fine. Deal.”
Colby grinned, handing you the trash bag back. “Awesome. And as for where, let me take care of that.”
“Should I be nervous?”
“Only if you don’t trust me.”
“I’ve known you for, like, maybe three months.”
He let out a small laugh, a wide smile stretched across his lips.
“When do we start?”
“Tomorrow.” He confirmed. “Give me the rest of the day to figure out the details.”
You shrugged. “Whatever,”
He winked at you and disappeared into the hall, probably on his way to get dressed and hopefully brush his hair.
You sighed when he was out of sight, huffily shoving more cups into the bag. This was going to one eventful month.

43. "I left something at your place" w/ Slash 🥺👉🏻👈🏻 Anon request..Hope you enjoy, Love!
Guns N’ Roses had taken the strip by storm, got a record deal, were in the studio if not a bar. I had been the ‘Mom friend’ to the band for a while, Axl got me a job as the band’s assistant. My boss had decided to fire me because, he thought the other waitress was prettier. Truthfully, she was pretty, but sucked at waitressing, I had been doing this I was 15 and needed a job. It’s were I met Duff when he first came to LA. I didn’t deserve his kidness and tip that night, Duff made me nervous, he was a punk with blue hair, tall stature, black and red floor length pimp coat. His smile took away all my nerves and fear of him. I had been working the night, he met Slash and Steven. It was funny to see their reaction to Duff as he approached their table. Slash had shook his head in confusion as I took Duff’s order of vodka and the blueberry pancakes, he was madly in love with. “He don’t bite, I promise”, I winked at Slash and Steven.
After, 7 years of knowing the trio and later meeting Izzy and Axl it was a close knit group. Izzy and Duff had went to jail twice over beating the shit out of a guy, who touched my ass. Axl almost choked a guy for looking at me wrong, Slash busted my ex’s truck after, he cheated on me. I never seen Slash so filled with rage, almost like it was the devil with a ball bat. “Hey, wanna go eat with the guys?” Izzy asked me. “Late lunch huh?” I asked, grabbing my purse. “Axl wasn’t happy about Duff’s bass line, we had to tweak a little.”, Izzy flicked his zippo lighter. Lunch was nice until a few groupies or fans wanted their attention. “Who’s the chick, Axl?”, One girl asked. “Our friend and assistant, she has a name. Not that you deserve to know” Axl barked. “Ax, be nice” I said but Duff shoved a couple fries in my mouth. I kicked his leg back. The girls left eventually, we finished our late. “Hey, Stevie here’s my half”, I said throwing a few bills in his hand. “Keep it, our treat” Steven closed my hand with his fist. “I can pay for my stuff guys” I huffed, making them laugh. “Think of it as our apperication for you taking care of us after all this time” Duff said throwing his jacket back on. Walking back to Izzy’s car, Axl decided that it was time to go home for the day. I wasn’t needed for the next day.
Izzy walked me to my door, “I wish you would move out of here, we all do” “Izzy, I’m fine” I sighed. “We’re worried about, especially since we live futher away now. Duff isn’t down the hall anymore” Izzy brushed a piece hair out of my face. “I love how you guys are protective of me, but I’m okay here. I promise, Iz” I kissed his cheek. “I’m gonna buy you house or bite the bullet and moved in” Izzy said flipping his keys on his index finger. “I could go for both” I smiled. After, my shower I heard a knock on the door. “Just a sec” I turned the knob, it was Slash. “Oh hey Slash, what’s up?” I asked. “I uh-” Slash mumbled. “Slash?” I asked leaning on the door. “Can I come in?” Slash asked. I moved to let him in, he was rubbing his plams down his pants. He’s nervous about something. “You okay, Slasher?”, I asked, running my hand over his shoulder blade. “I left something at your place” Slash yelled. “Okay, what? A T-shirt, guitar pick, better not have been Pandora” I said holding my chest after his yelling. “No no, she’s at home in her cage” He said. “Saul, what’s wrong? Please tell me” I pouted. “Come here”, Slash asked, doing a come either motion. Slash grabbed me by my shoulders and pulled me to his face, “This”, and kissed me.
“Did Axl and Duff put you up to this?” I asked pushing him away. “What? No”, Slash said sad. “Oh, I’m sorry Slash. I liked it”, I held my hand on his chest. “Really? I thought you and Izzy had something going on?” Slash asked. “No, he’s just the older brother I always wanted to have. Besides, I like another guitarist” I smirked. “Oh should know, it was Dave Sabo” He looked sad. “Slash, it’s you that I like, Jackass” I said rolling my eyes. If the boys were here they would be face plaming right now and groaning. I was doing the face plaming mentally. “You gonna put clothes on or skip around in this?”, Slash playfully pulled my towel. “I’m not that kinda girl, ask Duff” I smacked his hand away. “Duff?!”, Slash looked offended. I ran off into my room to change. Pulling his chain has always been the funest. “I’m kidding about Duff” I yelled back to him.

In response to this part:
I do not think he 'changed the world', but he left some impact (more research is needed on my part, I am still a student).
Here are some areas for further study:
1) He was the first to suggest the motto Liberté-Égalité-Fraternité. Something even the French government officially recognizes, which is quite impressive considering he's still a controversial figure.
2) He and his fellow Montagnards understood the importance of the concept of "fraternity" and how it was necessary to conciliate "liberty" and "equality". It was fundamental in laying the foundations of socio-economical rights, added to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948 (after the horrors of WWII made it clear how important human rights were, and how their previous neglect led to atrocities). These are some of the most fragile rights, fiercely fought for throughout the 19th century, strongly debated and reluctantly added in 1948 to minimize the draw towards communism, currently weakened and constantly under attack since the fall of the USSR by neoliberalism.
On this topic and the next, see for one example: Jean-Pierre Gross, Fair Shares for All: Jacobin Egalitarianism in Practice, 1997, which is available as a pdf online at The Charnel-House, if you google it (can't direct link from my phone).
3) The Declaration of 1793 played an extremely important role in the revolts and social struggles of the 19thc. It was both an inspiration and a rallying point. Robespierre's version was even more advanced than the one finally adopted, and ends on a section that prefigures international rights, organizations such as the UN, and the notion of crimes against humanity, already brought up in his speech on Louis XVI, December 3 1792.
4) A little-known quote that I absolutely adore to cite as often as possible:
« Vous avez chassé les rois : mais avez-vous chassé les vices que leur funeste domination a enfantés parmi vous ? »
[My translation: "You have driven out the kings: but have you driven out the vices that their baleful domination has bred within you?"]
I believe it shows his deep understanding, or at least awareness, of the many fights to come in the next centuries--fights the French Revolution unknowingly unlocked (which is something reactionaries, conservatives and even some liberals can't forgive neither the Revolution nor Robespierre).
The French Revolution transformed a society based on divine right and networks of servitude--that's what feudalism was. The revolutionaries opened a sort of Pandora's Box, except it contained all the good things we still have to fight for. It unleashed the potential to free everyone and to change everything: the nature and structure of family, the vital role of education, the desintegration of domesticity and servitude, the inevitable questioning of racial divides and gender roles, etc. It created the world we live in now. It went much farther than they originally planned in 1789, and Robespierre was one of those who understood it (albeit not perfectly, or to the extent that we would eventually go).
He was a leading prominent and essential advocate of human rights and social justice, but easily forgotten due to his legacy being tarnished by the Thermidorians and their scapegoating of the Terror--which is called the black legend of Robespierre. (They scapegoated him for their own crimes, but also some of them knew that by villifying him, they could finally halt and put an end to the radical progress of the Revolution, which Robespierre had come to incarnate. This radical progress, which was the path to democracy, has been decried by François Furet and his school of interpretation; they call it the "dérapage" ('skidding off course' or 'derailing') of the Revolution.)
Hi there. I would like to know why you adore the historical figure Maximilien Robespierre. What made him a hero? How did he change the world for the better? How does he beneficially impact your life today? Thank you.
First of all, I do not view Robespierre as a celebrity crush or whatever.
I was already interested in the French Revolution and my regular textbook described Robespierre and 'the dictator of the Terror' or the 'man behind the Terror'. When I read about his earlier views on the death penalty (he was against it), I question the 'average' view on Robespierre. Robespierre (and most of history) is a complicated person. You cannot see him as either a villain or a hero. History is not divided in heroes and villains (but, unfortunately, history is mostly written by the victors who put shame on the losers). Robespierre tried to achieve something with the French Revolution; creating a 'virtuous republic' with love for the patrie. I do not think he 'changed the world', but he left some impact (more research is needed on my part, I am still a student). I am interested in his complicated persona and I really want to write my thesis (bachelor's and maybe my master's) on him, especially about his emotional state.

1 Kings 5:1-6:38, Acts 7:1-29, Psalms 127:1-5, Proverbs 16:28-30
Today is the 9th day of June. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I am Brian. It is a pleasure and an honor to be here with you today as we get ready to close the books on another week. And we've been reading from the Amplified Bible this week, which is what we will continue to do today. We are following the story of King Solomon as we go through the Old Testament portion of 1 Kings. And we have just seen a blip on the radar of this man named Stephen, who we're going to get to know a little bit in the book of Acts. But first, 1 Kings chapter 5 and chapter 6 today.
Commentary:
Okay. So, we have heard of the temple of God in Jerusalem probably for a very, very long time. Today in our reading from 1 Kings, that temple is first built. Prior to this, there was no temple. There was only a tabernacle, more of a tent temple if you will. And this is how God had chosen to be among His people. If we'll remember all of this from the time of Moses, the temple was in the center of the camp and all of the different tribes had spread out from there. God was literally dwelling with his people in the middle of their society. And it was portable and it was movable so that the people would follow wherever God led. Now a temple has been erected that is a permanent place in Jerusalem. And as we will see, this brings an incredible amount of stability to the people.
Now when we get to the book of Acts, Stephen is being questioned and he has begun to tell the story of the Hebrew people. This is in his defense because he's basically being accused of perverting that story. So, he's just simply telling the story to the council so that he can show that he knows how the story goes and that he actually is a Hebrew person. And, so, right up until the time that he gets to Jesus we will be reviewing the territory that we have covered this year so far in the Bible, in the Old Testament. But one of the things that Stephen is accused of is Jesus’ declaration about tearing down the temple and then building it back in three days. Now that temple, the temple in Stephen’s time, the temple in Jesus’ time, is a different temple than the one Solomon built today. The one Solomon built today is what would be referred to now as the first temple. So, the first temple period or era. Eventually, Solomon's temple gets destroyed. And we'll get to that story soon enough. And then it is rebuilt over time and then it is really rebuilt in the time of Herod the Great, which would fall in time just a bit before Jesus’ birth. So, we'll get to all that, but let's just continue to listen to Stephen tell the story that we've gone through as that story reaches its culmination. And then we'll continue to watch Solomon. Now there's a temple in Jerusalem and there's gonna be a great celebration and we'll continue with his reign.
Prayer:
Father, we thank You for another week in Your Word. We thank You for all the things that You've spoken to us. Sometimes You speak deep into our hearts and reveal things that we must change and repent of. Sometimes the story gets carried forward and we see how things are linked together. Always You are inviting us to take the next step forward in relationship with You, and that is what we continually choose to do and Your Word guides our steps. So, come Holy Spirit, we pray. Plant the words of the Scriptures in our lives and change us through them, we ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Announcements:

Community Prayer and Praise:
Hi family. I’m calling…I need your help. I have been listening to the DAB for almost since the beginning. And recently I’ve been hearing a lot of prayers with women calling in about their husbands, which has given me a little bit more courage to call in. I used to call in on a regular basis but I kind of stopped but I do pray for everybody. I’m in trouble with my marriage. My husband has recently retired and he did allow me to retire. He was a doctor. So, we can afford for me to retire. I had a laborious job that’s really…I was just exhausted all of the time. So, he did allow me to retire. And I’m only 61. So, I’m very grateful and thankful for that. But being a doctor, he is very controlling, and he has three nurses that they just did everything that he wanted them to do. And now it’s turned out to be me. And I apologize if I hang up quickly because he might commend. But I’ve started drinking a lot. Nobody knows about it, but I am…I am so sad. I cry every day. I just do what he says. I can’t talk back to him. I can’t stand up. My sister asked me why I can’t stand up on my own two feet. But he always manages to turn everything around back to me. I need your help. I need your prayers. Please, I love you. Please help me. I don’t want to do. I pray. I pray every day. I just need your help family. I love you. I love you so much. Thank you, Brian, thank you Jill for all you do.
Hello DAB family. Hello Brian and family. I guess you can call me __ would be my name. I’ve been listening to DAB for, it’s going on at least 5 to 6 years or so, right? But this is my first time calling. I would just like prayer. I’m a single mother but I don’t feel a lot of joy in that. I just feel like everything that I enjoyed I can no longer enjoy. I mean, even the work that I used to do, traveling, and training, and technical work, I can’t do that anymore. So, my life completely started over. __ over the years. And my prayer is __. So, my prayer request for the community is family. I’m not finding that in my church, even though __ several years __ five years committed to the same church. It just seems like, sermons is…is pretty much not a requirement __. I want to life. I want to life. I want something different. I’m not happy with my job. __ the basis of my life __ and managing the house. And that’s where I am. And that’s what I want prayer for. __ thank you all. Have a good week.
Hello friends. Hey, this is Annette Allison. I love you guys. Hey, would you guys pray for my friend David at work? Tell you what. This guy, he handed it to me. You know what I’m saying? So, I get this new guy in my shop and he’s kind of overweight and kind of old and kind of sweaty and kind of reminds me of the dog named Lucky, missing a few teeth. All he did was that there and sweat. And it’s like, he was quiet, and he never talked to anybody. And I was like, what’s up with this guy? I was kinda busy with my project and I didn’t get the chance to know him. And, well, I’ve changed locations and I got sat next to David and pretty soon I got to know him and I got to figure out what an amazingly intelligent, smart, funny, he is hilarious, and he is so smart, and I have learned so much from him, including how not to judge a book by its cover. Awe….I failed. I had to ask forgiveness. I kid you not…in that, I asked for God to show me people as He sees them not as we see them. Awe…so…I did learn a lesson out of this. But my friend David is very sick. He’s in the hospital. He’s in ICU. He’s been fighting pulmonary obstructions and I think that maybe he has one in his lung. But he came to work and he fell out from low blood pressure. And would you guys please pray for him? And we are all really worried because, you know, because we kind of fell in love with them, you know? And, you know, I just don’t want to see him go out like this. So, would you all please pray for my friend David? And…
Hi family. This is Jeanette from Charlotte. This is my first time calling in and like so many of you, I have been listening and pray along with you all for quite a while now. I want to ask for prayer for my husband Vince. He has Parkinson’s disease and his symptoms have progressed to the point that he’s going to have brain surgery called the brain simulation. This surgery happens in three stages, the first of which will be on June the 5th, when they place 4 screws called fiducial’s under his scalp to serve as markers. The second phase happens on June 13th. This is the most invasive part of the process, where they drill holes in his skull and place electrodes into his brain. The last stage happens on June 25th when they place of battery pack on his chest, kind of similar to what they do for a pacemaker. On July 10th they will actually turn it on for the first time and we’ll find out how it works for him. Vince has been struggling so much. We have been asking God to heal him since he was diagnosed in 2008. We realize that God uses everything in our lives to draw us closer to Him. So, would you please pray that, number one, we will draw still closer to God through this process and that God will accomplish what He desires in our lives? Number two, would you please pray for an extraordinarily successful outcome, so that Vince can regain a good quality of life and that he would be able to do things again? We really want God to be glorified above all else. Vince and I love and appreciate you, family. Thanks for your prayers.

❍❍❍ Definition and Definition of Film / Movie ❍❍❍
While the players who play a role in the film are referred to as actors (men) or actresses (women). There is also the term extras that are used as supporting characters with few roles in the film. This is different from the main actors who have bigger and more roles. Being an actor and an actress must be demanded to have good acting talent, which is in accordance with the theme of the film he is starring in. In certain scenes, the actor’s role can be replaced by a stuntman or a stuntman. The existence of a stuntman is important to replace the actors doing scenes that are difficult and extreme, which are usually found in action action films. Films can also be used to convey certain messages from the filmmaker. Some industries also use film to convey and represent their symbols and culture. Filmmaking is also a form of expression, thoughts, ideas, concepts, feelings and moods of a human being visualized in film. The film itself is mostly a fiction, although some are based on fact true stories or based on a true story. There are also documentaries with original and real pictures, or biographical films that tell the story of a character. There are many other popular genre films, ranging from action films, horror films, comedy films, romantic films, fantasy films, thriller films, drama films, science fiction films, crime films, documentaries and others. That’s a little information about the definition of film or movie. The information was quoted from various sources and references. Hope it can be useful.
❍❍❍ TV MOVIE ❍❍❍
The first national color broadcast (the 1954 Tournament of Roses Parade) in the US occurred on January 1, 1954. During the following ten years most network broadcasts, and nearly all local programming, continued to be in black-and-white. A color transition was announced for the fall of 1965, during which over half of all network prime-time programming would be broadcast in color. The first all-color prime-time season came just one year later. In 19402, the last holdout among daytime network shows converted to color, resulting in the first completely all-color network season.
❍❍❍ Formats and Genres ❍❍❍
See also: List of genres § Film and television formats and genres Television shows are more varied than most other forms of media due to the wide variety of formats and genres that can be presented. A show may be fictional (as in comedies and dramas), or non-fictional (as in documentary, news, and reality television). It may be topical (as in the case of a local newscast and some made-for-television films), or historical (as in the case of many documentaries and fictional MOVIE). They could be primarily instructional or educational, or entertaining as is the case in situation comedy and game shows.[citation needed] In 2022, it was reported that television was growing into a larger component of major media companies’ revenues than film.[5] Some also noted the increase in quality of some television programs. In 2022, Academy-Award-winning film director Steven Soderbergh, commenting on ambiguity and complexity of character and narrative, stated: “I think those qualities are now being seen on television and that people who want to see stories that have those kinds of qualities are watching television.
