So I’m now home in Swansea with my parents and isolating for the foreseeable future! It looks like it’ll be at least 3-4 months. It was a really hard call for us, as we have no care support coming in and the hospice can only offer minimal and emergency support during such an urgent time, but we couldn’t bear to be apart during this crisis, and we also know there’s far less risk of cross infection here than there is in my nursing home. Lmc are being incredible, and taking every possible measure, but there’s such a high number of people there every day who could be vectors... here it’s just me, my parents, and my mum’s carer. My dad has been put into isolation too because of his health, so the three musketeers are gonna be together all day every day 💪🏻😁💖 lets hope there’s no murders 😂! We will get through this; things are scary and sad and awful, but in the last 24 hours alone I’ve seen just how incredibly kind, generous and loving human beings can be. I’m on my way home 🏡!! I’m actually super excited about an hour in the van driving home after four dats inside all day and 3 days of official isolation 😂 but most of all I cannot wait to be with my parents ❤️ 3-4 months in isolation together will be hard, but as a palliative care family we’ve been isolated before and we’ve survived and even thrived; we got this 💪🏻!! I felt really sad leaving LMC; I’ll miss it immensely. Guess who actually got dressed despite being on isolation?? Me bitches! Trying my best to keep occupied, which has been pretty damn easy today as I’ve been preparing to go to my parents (hopefully tomorrow) to isolate for the foreseeable future; possibly four months 😳.
