This painting is part Wild Art Journaling and part painting. I love it deeply. It represents a moment in time. And when I began. With the writing which is deep underneath the layers. I did not know. I was stuck. Nothing was coming. But I kept going. Taking inspiration from what was directly around me. The lines “looking to see” and “that’s what comes from tidying up” were added from live painting the words as my mum came in to talk as I was painting. Both the phrases, like cut paper poems take on a new meaning in the context of the whole. The painting of this itself brought me back to myself. At the end of it I knew. It is the act of painting. Of creativity itself. That brings me home and shows me the way. On another note @faye_bridgwater may like to know that she gave me this canvas. Underneath even the writing is a felt tip scribble drawing by Dot. Maybe when she was 2? So this painting has all the layers. All the stories. I had it up in an exhibition and one person liked it. She really loved it. That made me very happy. It is a special painting. It is for sale. £1111. And I also do not at all mind if no one ever likes it.
