again, got hooked on a fic of it. Currently am writing a long fic with them as a ship (it’s not really central but I like making hints) They also interact in the mags quite a bit, I think they’d be such a silly little couple

I also want to make them a toxic couple— like I had this idea where Shingo is doing one of his typically rants and being over dramatic as usual (I’m pretty sure Yuya and Yuzu were with them) and Shun was having a bad day so he straight up tells Shingo to shut the hell up. As much as he complains, Shingo doesn’t like feeling like a burden so this hits him hard (I’ll offer explanation bout this later) he goes quiet for the rest of the day. He also avoids Shun when they get home as well as leaving the home to somewhere I haven’t thought off. This is basically where the planning ends but I’ll offer the explanation about the burden thingy. So y’all remember Battle Beast right? (Idk his Japanese name) and how ____ destroyed Shingo’s duel disk to save him? Yeah, thats where it came from. He still rants a bit cause he’s not a fan of bottling it up but for the most part he tries to be more considerate.

okay, I’m planning a fic for their ship and I’m thinking of a ship name— I am deeply invested in it cause of the manga but am really sad that since all three don’t interact in canon at the same time, this isn’t really a pairing that would cross anyone’s mind. It’s a really fluffy ship for me (going off of manga) tho if we’re going off of the show, I think Shingo would have to be a mediator if any arguments start bubbling up

Stems from one very specific draft I have. Basically Shingo and Reiji used to be a couple but one day they had a terrible argument and broke up. Both of them went their separate ways. Both of the, however, found Shun and both are in an open relationship with him. Neither Shingo nor Reiji is dating another person but they are aware Shun is dating one other person (they don’t know who it is tho, btw the relationship is romantic as well) they both tell Shun about their previous partner and Shun starts noticing that the stories of his partners sound similar. He then makes a plan, invite both of them over to have them talk it out. He tells both of them that he wants them to meet.

that’s the basic idea of it! I’m working on some other projects rn so I won’t be getting around to it but I’m trying to!

lmao pine that vincenzo netlix thing happens to me all the time.. i also get random notifs on my phone that tell me to "continue watching" bc i sometimes feel like rewatching some scenes. was funny yesterday when i was finishing reborn rich and got so tired of all the fuckery, i took a break and checked my phone and it was just netflix again telling me to watch vincenzo like YEAH.... i might as well now bc reborn rich totally lost me in the last episode

honestly though– what in the world was that ending? like who over at jtbc thought this was a good idea and let the writer have her way??? i'd love to know bc i think what the novel did (no HW in the new life, DJ gets revenge, becomes ceo, marries MY, end) was so much better. yeah it's simple but better than what we got. here the writer wanted to be creative? what was the point of ep 2-15 and all that we've seen DJ go through only to have an ending like that and then explain it with "repentance"? like what...... and it was lined with plotholes like a swiss cheese 😭

so while i enjoyed the drama, the end kinda ruined it for me personally. the novel was about rebirth/revenge and while we watched DJ trying to take over sunyang, all that was naught in the end since we end with HW again and nothing he "did" as DJ ever mattered. by changing the ending, the writer completely fucked the point of the story over. now it's about repentance? why not just make a movie with the plot of ep 1 and 16 and call it a day then? idk. the more i try to make sense of it all the more i don't understand. also such a waste of lee sung mins amazing performance :(

what's your general thought of the ending?

vincenzo will forever haunt me, i feel like i see his face wherever i go i wish i could erase it from my head so i can watch it again. my life drama. anyway.

well i didn't love the drama ngl to you there were fun bits where he fucked his family over but none of that was truly cathartic? and there were too much politics and corporate lingo like i barely followed along. i wrote this in a post too that it will never truly be revenge because the jin family won't know who he is and why he's doing it. revenge is all about looking into your enemy's eyes and letting them know it was you who fucked them over and why you did it. isn't it? so i was wondering how that was going to go, i guess they did that with hyunwoo at the end but it didn't actually matter because the guy who did kill dojun and tried to kill him got to die peacefully in his sleep none the wiser. he got to be the chairman of soonyang for 20 years without any accountability.

the doppelganger thing still bothers me like hyunwoo literally could've been played by any other actor because he was only in the first and last eps and some flashback scenes i don't understand why joongki had to play them both it's just too much suspension of belief for me. plus the thing that bothered me ESPECIALLY that i already talked about is that hyunwoo was supposed to know about dojun's accident. he was literally there and he still couldn't avoid it while he was dojun cause he conveniently forgot it ever happened or idk??? like that shit irks me. don't even get me started on the romance and minyoung's character because it was abismal. i trusted this writer because she wrote designated survivor and it's still one of my favorite dramas and it was very entertaining despite being so political. waited a year for this drama cause it's joongki's project after vincenzo but i guess you win some and you lose some. better luck next time.

i'm like 45 chapters into "love is an illusion" and till now i still can't believe how terrible the communication between dojin and hyesung is, like almost all of their sex scenes are non consensual, which is very off-putting, and the only reason i'm still reading is because of heesoo who is my favorite person in this whole mess. at this point i'm terrified to read his side story because i genuinely love him and i'm scared the author will ruin him as a character. please, does it get better??

you’re right and you should say it.

DOES it get better after 45 chapters? That entirely depends on which couple you’re talking about. 

Dojin & Hyesung relationship pretty much remains the same after marriage. Hyesung is still a brat but he does get better and takes good care of their son, Byul (who is the saving grace of the entire series). Dojin still remains crazy for Hyesung, though I’m not too sure why. Their relationship is honestly not a favourite, for the only reason I put up reading about them is because of Byul.

Dojun & Heesoo, though, gets so MUCH better. Heesoo is my favourite character in the entire series too and I fucking love how he doesn’t deny his attraction towards to Dojun. They’re absolutely compatible with one another and their sex scenes are all CONSENSUAL. This couple has a more mature flare compared to the other couple and I think that’s what attracted me to them the most. They’re sexy yet very domestic and Dojun is an absolute Daddy. If I dare say, they deserve an entire series for themselves.

In the end, it’s entirely up to you if you want to drop the series. But I’d recommend for you to continue reading the series solely for Byul and the secondary couple, Dojun & Heesoo!

when i tell you swimming for dummies (possible retitle incoming) has turned into the most self indulgent Romance Anime Beach Episode fic of all time..... i have these people doing so much shit that doesn't have anything to do with the plot AT ALL just because i want jeno and mc to experience things and actually be friends first before things get..... handsy

i started this fic literally three years ago with the intention to have it be like 20k and take place entirely in an aquatic center over the course of one week; it's currently at 50k, not finished, they've known each other for a month, and they're at a beach festival devouring fruit and mud wrestling literally just for vibes

dec 27th: she’s probably tired enough to just spend the entire day on the cruise ship so she’s free the entire day in her rooms here

dec 28th: joo is with the red team again and is working in the kitchens and thank god she’s not that bad at cooking in fact she’s actually good at it lmao the rest of the day she will be preparing for the concert with silhouette and being on stage before returning, probably exhausted by the end of things

dec 29th: she’s free the entire day, find her at the pool dipping her feet in the water because its hot, or in her rooms, probably catching up with sleep or working on her music because she plans to put out an album once more

dec 30th: this time she’s lucky to get the blue card and she’s going to get that free massage (pls her body is probably aching at this point lmfao) & pampering herself with that french fine dining

dec 31st : early in the day she’s with silhouette girls, preparing for the concert. the new year eve’s party she’s probably going to let loose a little so a tipsy joo might make an appearance....yeah...i’ll think on that again a drunk joo is a really...sigh. if anyone wants to find her, she will be there probably alone and drinking by herself slowly while admiring the night sky.

jan 1st : she will be at the fansign at the theatre with the rest of silhouette, waiting for her turn after 7rophy, and probably brushing shoulders with BEE since they’re up next for the fansign. the rest of the day is shopping in busan, probably going round to find little joys in eating (yeah yeah yeah she’s craving street food whatcha gonna do about it 😤

artemisia / sia :

lipstick is going to be performing news, wild and lil’ touch and knowing sia she would probably either be late / lost somewhere in the ship / sleeping  in the most unexpected places. the loud sounds of the rehearsals are also going to or probably might get to her, and some might find her hiding away hands over her ears trying to re-balance her disorientation and sensory overload. she might run / brisk walk off the stage mid-practice because of it as well. 

the same night she’s performing with lipstick, but the rest of the whole time for the concert she’s going to be having a good pair of earplugs in her ears--misunderstandings could occur because she’s not very good at reading lips. 

dec 26: she gets lucky and draws a blue card. fits her perfectly, probably spends the rest of the day lying dazedly on the benches next to the swimming pool, or just lazy enough to get into the water, and just lie down and float. actually. she might even fall asleep while floating, based on what i know of her personality. in that case someone pls..wake her.

the swimming pool thing might also cause some fun in threads because sia could have walked out of the swimming pool without caring if her hair was all over her face (its probably grown to mid chest by now), and coming across her with wet hair across her face trudging round the corner can be quite horrifying

the same night she’s going to grab food, drinks for the holiday ball and spend her time trying to find a spot where no one comes round. maybe you come across her because you’re trying to hide too

dec 27: free day on ship. great. she’s going to sleep. or blast music and work on her stuff. or play games. come hit her up and find out.

dec 28: she gets a yellow card and probably spends her time trying to sneak off and away from actually doing the mission because no, she doesn’t like animals, and yes, its because they’re too noisy. her ears hurt and her eyes hurt please spare her for a moment, or don’t and drag her back to do the mission. she rehearses with the rest of lipstick girls in the evening--good luck, someone from lipstick hear her rant about the animals in the afternoon and calm her frazzled soul 

dec 29: free day again. again, sleep, eat, blast music, work stuff, play games...come hit her up.

dec 30: she gets a yellow card again and is attempting to sneak and mingle with the blue team. maybe you are perceptive enough to catch the usually presentless her, or you don’t and she smoothly integrates herself into the team. if she succeeds, she’s going to the bar to celebrate which is rare in all honesty, we might get a drunk or tipsy sia who knows. or just plain sober sia. who knows.

dec 31st: again she’s with the lipstick girls in the morning, and at the new years’ eve party in the night. again, she’s trying to sneak food and drinks out so as not to mingle in the party. she will be attempting to ninja her way to the observation lounge. 

jan 1st: she will be at the fansign at the theatre, brushing shoulders with fuse girls and gal.actic girls at their fansigns. her fans usually bring her rather embarrassing little hats for her to wear that’s too big for her so you might come across her wearing those and shuffling out of the theatre or something. 

she’s going to honestly just walk around. mainly if there’s anything of musical interest that catches her attention, she will go for it.

dec 25th: she’s going to be playfully getting ready with the rest of the bee girls for her performance, being the mood maker and the cheeky one she might purposely do some fun little antics to tease those around her and be playful with them

dec 26th: she get the red card and probably might cause more harm than good with decorations, though she’s pretty eager to help. who knows you might chance upon her getting caught in tinsel or entangled in the lights with no way to get out. the same night she’s going to be at the ball, probably eating and drinking and mingling with friendly people whilst being in the pool as well

dec 27th: free day out in taipei!! join her for street food!! she wants to eat all of the street food and shop at all the street markets she can find!! she especially wants to try the stinky tofu, so...good luck to anyone bringing her out she will insist on trying it lmfao

dec 28th: she gets the red card again :’) this time someone please make sure she doesn’t end up eating all the food she’s supposed to prepare. aly with cooking is always 85% eating and 15% cooking, she’s also not good at it at all so bear with her pls

dec 29th: she’s going to the card and game room, and the library, and the theatre and then the fitness centre she just wants to visit every place in the ship even though she doesn’t stay long in one place.

dec 30th: she gets the yellow card  and will try to mingle with the blue team. except..that she’s just generally bad at hiding her excitement ;;

dec 31st:  she’s probably eating at the ball, and then making a beeline for her room. by then she���s exhausted herself on the running energy for the past few days. she might fall asleep while eating, or doze while talking with someone

jan 1st: she’s going to brush shoulders with silhouette and lucid girls for the fansign at the theatre, and aly is known to be a bit wild when doing fansigns lmao so you might hear her hyping up the fans even while behind or waiting for your turn. aly energy at the beginning of the fanmeet: 150% , after the fanmeet: 150% and getting louder with bunny hats and flower crowns and just chattering non-stop (i’m sorry bee girls :’) she’s excited)

dojun:

dec 26: yeah, he’d rather be anywhere but rehearsing for alien. he’ll be distracted half the time or disappeared because he’s snuck away to watch over his gf. or he will aim to finish his rehearsal quickly and then go. 

he gets the yellow card and helps with the choreography of dance since its his niche. he’ll probably suggest some really cheer / hyped up songs that makes people feel like dancing upon hearing the song--that’s half the recipe of success he says.

holiday ball: do not disturb, thank you. he’s probably hovering somewhere close to his gf, watching over her and half heartedly talking to others. who knows you might see the warmer or actual side of him and not the dumb narcissistic side since he tends to be softer and more leaning towards his original personality when around his gf

dec 27: he’ll be at the fitness centre or the indoor pool, or you might not find him at all.

dec 30: he draws the red card. he hasn’t cleaned in a long ass time, but he’s willing to put in the effort as long as others do, and surprisingly you won’t see him complain but just diligently do his part.

dec 31: god he’s rehearsing with alien again. he’d honestly rather have time speed up in this part because his mind is preoccupied elsewhere. the new year’s eve party is going to be fun and blissful one, but he’s finally had the chance to fully relax and just be himself. maybe you’ll catch the flamboyant, loud ass prat version of him, or maybe the sentimental one. anyway, he’s staying up and finding his gf so that he can give her a new year’s kiss secretly because he’s romantic like that.

jan 1st: he will brush shoulders with origin members and decipher members, then appear at the theatre later on to watch from a distance and silently support silhouette.

what a nightmare, hyunsoo thought to himself. award shows like this, where there were just so many people under one roof, were not exactly his favourite places to be. sure, the companies had forced them all onto a cruise ship not too long ago, but it wasn’t like he exactly wanted to see everyone so soon either. if it was up to him, he would just perform and go home so that he could avoid all the uncomfortable small talk that was inevitably going to backstage where everyone was gathered. this year, however, hyunsoo had made himself the resolution to try and make some more friends - or, at the very least, be a little bit more social. it was easy for him to hide away in the corner in hopes that people would just ignore him, but he figured being a little outgoing wouldn’t hurt. at least, that’s what he thought before he remembered why he didn’t enjoy events like this in the first place. he was tired, his knee hurt, and he didn’t really want to listen to another person blabbering on about things he didn’t particularly have any interest in, but his mother had raised him to be polite and unfortunately it had become far too ingrained in him now. every time a senior had walked by, he had offered a slight bow and a quick hello as he quietly hoped that they wouldn’t take it as an invitation for conversation, which was the case as he noticed dojun. “oh, hey there,” he greeted quickly, before turning back to his phone to try and blend into the background.

most people would argue that dojun does things out of a whim, that he has the privilege of walking in any social circle that he chooses for the day, that nothing would scream more about his spoiled and being born in a golden crib than dojun playing nice prince charming when his dad needs him to and then deciding to put it away for a moment and then “play” as someone who doesn’t have even half of the money that he actually does, to have his as equally rich friends to hang out and rent five stars restaurants for their dinner and then go to campus and pretend to be an average university student. and well, dojun won’t exactly deny that, because it’s sort of true, even it doesn’t come from a malicious place. 

don’t get him wrong, he does like his rich lifestyle, wouldn’t really trade it for most things because well, he won’t refuse an easy life, but the thing is that dojun does know firsthand how intimidating it can be to interact with someone as rich as he is, someone who screams “young master” as he has heard once. this whole thing isn’t because he’s trying to “explore a world he wouldn’t be able to otherwise” or anything as demeaning, but it’s just— dojun wants to make friends and sometimes he finds those friends when he isn’t in a louis vuitton suit and drinking wine that is older than his grandfather. 

that’s why he’s at that rundown bar now, sipping on a cheap beer and to be honest dojun is regretting it a bit now. he doesn’t know if it’s because he’s used to much higher standards than this or if it’s because the bar is really that bad and only because of that doubt that dojun decides to stay a little longer, hoping that maybe things might change if he’s a little more resilient.

and they sort of do. 

when he goes back to the counter to ask for something stronger, something that would definitely help him make this night at least a little more enjoyable, dojun sees him. the boy is so pretty and seemingly as out of place as dojun feels deep inside. there’s something that pulls him in to the other, something that makes the prince reincarnation dismiss almost too apathetically whoever sits by his side to offer him a drink — it’s always either that or them trying to convince him to buy something for them —, and pays attention to the stranger instead. “what is the strongest thing you have?” he asks as soon as the other seems free, a subtle smile tugging the corners of his lips. “i think i might need that if i want to not die in this place.” dojun says playful, hopeful that he’ll get any and all small talk, or just any talk, from the cute bartender.

dojun hated the moments where he had to leave korea and fly overseas for a schedule. not because mainly that he didn’t like work (alright, that was just a part of it), but mainly because he was a huge softie for his girlfriend who currently was in korea. half the time the man pretty much spent texting and talking with her on the phone, completely disregarding the fact that he needed to socialise with others. 

hating the idol life seemed like a thing nowadays, especially with how his age was on the rise, nearly closer to the thirties by the year. he matured much both in personality as he did as an idol, and the longer he did this job, the deeper he felt as though he had reached the prime of his life and was--as a matter of fact, ready to retire. 

perhaps it was just because he didn’t like the over intensive schedules that came with the idol life, or the drinking parties that came with it. if anything--if he was younger than the 29 years of age that he was, he was sure his liver would have appreciated the torture that those parties gave it. 

dojun snorted lightly as he ran his hand through his hair, raising a slight brow at the silhouette that entered the doorway, a slow smirk raising the corners of his lips. “good day to you too.” he gently threw his phone onto the towel nearest to him. “fancy a drink after the kcon stage?”

Space Sweepers

This was a really sweet and surprisingly touching movie. I blame it on Song Joong Ki shit-talking Taeho every opportunity he can that I had such a bad impression of the character going in, but to be honest I think Taeho is the most human character he's played since his military service (I haven't yet watched Battleship Island but his role is smaller there and sounds like a tokenistic soldier role).

The plot is fairly straightforward and predictable, but there is something about the comfort of a predictable story in a dystopic setting. It's part Wall-E meets Guardians of the Galaxy - a group of antisocial misfits is thrown together and by the end becomes a found family. Korean shows pick their villains well, and the main villain is an eugenicist capitalist who's planning to destroy Earth and "get rid of all the genetic defects". The only pity is that there was so much story to be explored between James Sullivan and Taeho ("the first adoptee you carried into UTS in your arms") and Captain Jang.

Taeho was the emotional core of the movie. I mean, yes, Kotnim was the core of the film but Taeho carried most of the emotional scenes. Adopted into UTS at a young age and trained as a soldier from childhood, he killed a lot of people until he spotted a baby amongst the dead bodies and something in him just...glitched. It brought humanity back to him, but it also brought...unending guilt. Guilt that he was the one who took her parents' lives, that his shot had caused her deafness, that he couldn't save them from poverty, that he was too caught up with getting money that she wandered into danger.

Sullivan gloated at his failing, that he chose to trade Kotnim's life for 4 million dollars. But it was a terribly cruel choice - the life of a child who had just lost her father, or your last chance of knowing the whereabouts of your own child. As Taeho said earlier to Tiger Park, his only reason for living was to find his daughter. No father should ever have to face that choice.

The crew's choice in the end was redemption - for Taeho, for drug gang leader Tiger Park, for murder bot Bubs, and I'm assuming also for Captain Jang, but sadly we never got her story about why she changed her mind about Sullivan.

Vincenzo and Jin Dojun and Yoo Shijin are all mesmerisingly idealised characters. Taeho is painfully human, who is living with the consequences of a series of terrible mistakes. I guess I'm also just soft for people who are (unwillingly) conditioned to live as a cog in the wheel, and when they get the chance to leave...they inevitably struggle with living like a normal person because they don't know what normal society is like, they don't have any normal survival skills, and they don't have anyone to turn to for help. Vincenzo and Dojun and Yoo Shijin don’t feel real, and they are best admired from behind a glass case, but Taeho I just want to wrap in blankets and tell him he’s done the best he could.

Kim Taeri was amazing as Captain Jang. I know she had a lot of negative publicity recently but she owned the scenes and managed to come across as threatening without raising her voice. I thought it was cute that Bubs, who had a male voice, actually always wanted to be a girl. I really liked how multinational the movie felt too - there were so many languages and accents that communicated so naturally with each other - and the international actors were fantastic (sometimes Asian franchises hire foreigners who can't act but that's definitely not the case here). I had no idea it was Richard Armitage but his line delivery was riveting.

Definitely a recommend. I liked it more than GotG, but your mileage may vary.

Whoa, is that PARK YOUNGMI? I love her! You might know her as MIA. She’s a SOLOIST and she’s a ‘97 LINER! She’s one of my favorites under BC ENTERTAINMENT. Don’t you think she looks a little like YOO SHIAH (YOOA)?

Background. 

- Born out of wedlock in the midst of an affair. Her father, Han Dojun’s father, slept with her mother while he was still married. She was the product of that transgression.  - Didn’t see her father much growing up. No more than three times a week for a few hours at a time. By the time she was in primary school, her father was just a walking, talking ATM.  - Her mother was a famous singer who successfully tried to mold Youngmi into the perfect girl. She forced her to take etiquette classes, instrument lessons, dance lessons and vocal lessons.  - As it turned out, dancing was her forte. Her mother honed in on that particular skill. From the age of five, she went on to take ballet lessons, contemporary dance lessons, and hip-hop dance lessons.  - Her mother made her start auditioning for companies when she was twelve, and she ended up joining Gold Star in early 2010.  - Her training mainly focused on her vocals. She was already a really strong dancer, so it was just the point of working on her singing to make her debut ready. - She was supposed to debut with Fuse, but unfortunately she was sidelined because her mother got into legal trouble. Her mother was accused of tax evasion. Gold Star didn’t want her family’s issues to mar Fuse’s, or the company’s, reputation.  - So she had to keep training for another few years. When Femme Fatale debuted, she thought she would be included in the lineup. She wasn’t.  - She decided after that she was finished with the idol industry. She was going to wait out until the end of her trainee contract and just go back to school and get a normal job. When Gold Star offered her an extension, she said no. Then BC Entertainment contacted her with another offer, she was going to say no, but her father convinced (i.e. guilted) her into accepting it.  - She trained with BC for a year before she debuted last year with Why Don’t You Know.  - She tried to ignore the whole scandal regarding Lipstick’s main vocalist and how people immediately jumped to the conclusion that her debut was used as a distraction from it. It might be true (and most likely is) but she’s decided that it doesn’t have anything to do with her, so she won’t allow herself to really dwell on it. 

Personality.

- Quiet, shy, reserved. Doesn’t really like to get involved in too much. On camera and on variety shows, she does enough to be enjoyable to watch, but off camera and in everyday life she’s.. not gonna lie, she seems boring on the surface.  - She’s very much so like how the k-pop stan community perceives Red Velvet’s Irene. RBF, cold, closed off, man hater. None of those things are true though, minus the resting bitch face.  - She absolutely hates being an idol. Hates having eyes on her, hates having people invade her privacy, hates being forced to interact with people. The only thing that makes up for it is the fact that she gets to do what she loves - dance.
